Equipment is constantly left scattered all over the place, making the gym look messy and unorganized. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting -- I would not even consider taking a shower there because of the lack of cleanliness and upkeep. The staff is friendly and welcoming, but being nice only goes so far. The knowledge and professionalism just aren't there. If you're looking for guidance, expertise, or a staff that can actually help you improve, this probably isn't the place. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. The low membership price reflects the overall experience. A gym should be a place where people feel motivated and comfortable, not somewhere that feels dirty, neglected, and poorly maintained.

I asked the front desk, they then asked the Manager and was told that it was company policy that the hooks are for the mats, not intended to hang members towels on.. so I asked can the matts be placed somewhere else? Answer was no.. I asked if the mats were cleaned with soap and disinfected to insure that all bacteria was removed from the mats nightly and got a blank stare in reply.... Over the past two weeks management still has this policy in place for I personally have seen the mats hanging from the hooks outside shower stalls.

You learn real self defense, Krav, Boxing, Kick Boxing, and Jiu Jitsu in a real world setting. Whether you compete or not, you will recieve the same level of instruction...something that sets this gym apart. Most gyms spend a lot of time with their competitors, but the people who just want to train and have fun are left alone. Not here. Jason Jeanette LOVES to teach and is very good at it. I have been doing martial arts for quite a while and have set foot in most of the gyms in the Nashville area. This one is special. In fact, I drive past several to get there. The gym is sparkling clean and the people are a blast to be around. No big egos here! Jason has a way with children. His kids classes are nothing short of amazing. Coming from a guy who has coached youth football, I can say that I wish I had the natural ability to communicate with children in such a fun and constructive way. You and your child will both benefit greatly from these classes. I would not send my son or daughter to any other martial arts school in the Nashville area. I took a quick tour of the gym and saw that they had all the same types of equipment as the big gyms, but without the crowds of people. In the past 5 1/2 months I have lost 15 pounds and went down 3 dress sizes! I also lost over 11% body fat. I have truly never felt better. I had my pick of people to work with but liked the personal approach that they offer. When I came to J and K Fit I had been lifting for about a year and was eating what I thought was healthy. Little did I know I wasn't eating properly to fuel my body. On my first workout with Jeremy I did 5 sets and got sick. I then realized my intensity level and my nutrition were not on par and that I needed the help of J and K Fit. I have felt so much better after switching up my diet plan and training properly. I've lost 2.7lbs of fat and gained 1lb of lean muscle mass in less than 2 weeks! I was also able to make it through the rest of my workouts without getting sick. I'm very excited to see where I will be at in a couple months and next year when I compete. I'm glad I made this choice.

The staff are usually friendly, gracious, and efficient with getting you through the door and onto equipment. I really love how most of the equipment faces out towards nature rather than more rows of equipment. While this happens occassionally, I'm usually able to navigate towards a nature-facing space. If I had to be picky, the only drawback is for my introverts: this gym is usually quite popular, whether during the day with elder gym-goers or during the later night with college-age students. The only time I've found as relatively less populated is during the hour before lunch or slightly before school pick-up for parents with kids around that age. This is obviously not that convenient for most families or individuals. Parking is plentiful but usually pretty full. Be careful with the traffic around here. It's usually pretty calm, but there's just a lot of people going in and out. The pool is currently (12/2024) closed for remodeling but otherwise a fully functional gym. Some additional amenities include: a walking track, stairmasters, treadmills, free weights, power racks, bikes, row machines, and your standard machine weights.
