I've been shopping at Q since 2005. At this point all my suits, sports coats, and almost all my dress shirts are them them. Everything I've received has fit perfectly; I haven't needed any alterations. I found the original fitting relaxing and understandable. I love the choices of fabrics, including the colors, patterns, and textures (for shirting and suiting). I've received excellent recommendations and when I've left the choices up to Q (on 3 or 4 shirts), I was delighted. They share specials and stay in touch, but not in an irritating way. The whole time I've done business with Q, I have lived outside Dallas (New York City and San Antonio, to be specific). Sometimes I've made all the decisions by email. Other times I've visited the store and they've shipped the shirts or suits to me. I'll be a customer as long as they and I are both in business! read more

Awful experience. My fiancé is 6'9F and asked them to make him a custom collared shirt as he's 260lb with a trim muscular build making it difficult to find properly fitted collared shirts (he even has to have an out of state company custom make him jeans). We were thrilled that they were confident they could accommodate him and we planned to become regular customers. They took his measurements and called him when it was ready for fitting. It was all off. Dreadful. The fit was all wrong. I cringed when I saw how tight it was around his chest and they confirmed his size did NOT change that it was their error. They said they will fix it and so we returned for a second fitting. It was all off again. Unbelievable that it is they're speciality to measure and create custom shirts yet they failed miserably. We asked the owner, whom we actually met at a bar of a very nice restaurant that sold us on the idea of trying his company, what is the next step and he simply said he will have to refund us as there's nothing they can do. So their solution was to just give up. Yes folks, this is their entire speciality yet they just gave up. Please go elsewhere. This place is a total joke. read more

One suit, terribly-fitted, was enough for me given the price I paid for it.

I was gifted a custom shirt experience for my birthday and bought an additional shirt so I would have an extra color to wear. The shirts cost around $250 a piece plus tax. After it all being said and done, the shirts took 6 weeks to be made (which was as they said when I bought them) however, they came out to be about 2 inches too long in the arm length. In addition, I have had them for about 2-3 months and the shirts are impossible to care for properly, I've taken them to a reputable dry cleaner several times and ironed them myself before every use. They still wrinkle very quickly and are in general average in quality at best. read more

Absolutely the worst made to measure experience! Very limited selection and overpriced. I can not comment on the fit since its been over four(4) months since my order was placed. But this is my fault after they screwed up the suit I purchased for my son on his special day- White Coat Ceremony! I would love to give them high marks overall as there staff is friendly, great custom clothing assortment, and brilliantly merchandised store. Unfortunately, execution does not meet my needs. First order was placed in June '14 and after the initial fitting, the shirts needed considerable adjustment. The final order was received in November '14. A second order was placed in November as I'd assumed this was a one of experience; however, it is February and I'm stilling waiting on the other two shirts. Fortunately, I (and 7 other friends) use another custom shop out of SLC and one out of Chicago where both turn custom shirts in 3 weeks and suits with minimal to no adjustments. I'm sad this was my experience here as I was hoping to have a custom shop that is local. I'm assuming this is not normal as they have been in business for years.....unfortunately we will keep taking my custom needs to other shops. I stopped by Q Clothier with a suit in need of repair. A side fastener on my beltline had come apart, and the manager Steve promptly placed an order for two new fasteners to help me out. When I returned the pieces were ready to go, and as the shop had a full queue of tailor jobs to be completed, Steve did not charge me for the fasteners and directed me to the nearest tailor. Quality service, high quality people and products, and definitely now going to be where I look when I'm ready to buy my next suit! A+, would highly recommend. read more

I've now been a customer for years and Q is now the only place I go for tailored clothes, despite moving back to California. I've had experience buying custom clothing before, at both high end and mid price points but Q clothiers has really raised my expectations. First thing you notice is the environment, which is a place you might hang out with your buddies compared to the sterile or unwelcoming atmosphere at so many other high-end men's clothing shops. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the merchandise laid out in an accessible way for browsing, large screen TVs with sports playing and, hey, they even serve drinks! I started out ordering basic work clothing, without too many customizations. The staff measured and walked me through a number of options with recommendations that made the process a breeze. Everything was delivered on time with a perfect fit, and once you try well tailored clothing it is really hard to go back to off the rack. Eventually I decided to add a few more fun items, and again everyone was tremendously helpful walking through options and considerations. The sports jackets in particular get unsolicited complements everywhere I go, but the fit is what really keeps me coming back and they do that better than anywhere else I've been. read more

I picked out a custom men's shirt at the West Village location a while back. The sales girl (forgot her name) had a great eye for picking out the details for my shirt, and also helped me pick out a solid fabric. After picking out out the details and measurements, I was looking forward to my new shirt to come in. I waited a few weeks for it to come in, and was called when it came in. I came over right away, as I was excited about my new custom shirt. The cut was spot-on, and I really do look great in my shirt. read more

Very disappointed First, customer service was weak. Hadn't really gone thru the custom process before, and there was really no help at the beginning. Just handed fabric swatches & told to pick. No real discussion of options, no conversation about pricing, just trying to get me completed & done. Next, I needed my clothes for an upcoming event & asked if they could call me when it was ready. Never received a phone call, so waited for several days after due date & finally called my self. Finally, shirt didn't fit properly. Specifically asked for room around the collar & it came in way too tight. After 3 different modifications, it fit better, but the collar looks bad with offset buttoning. Was told just to take it that way & hopefully the tie would cover it. Just an overall poor experience, especially when paying over $200 per shirt. You really expect far more. read more

Selection / fitting process was great in September. Experience completely fell apart after initial visit. I finally had to call in early-Nov to see if shirts had arrived. They had arrived (but no one had ever called). One shirt fit and one did not. They promised to re-order shirt that did not fit. Checked again in early-Dec and re-order had never been sent. At that time I requested they cancel the order. They apologized, refunded one shirt, and promised to still full the order for free. I have never heard about second shirt and at this point do not expect to follow-up with them to find out if the re-order was ever placed. Too bad because I was really excited about the shirt I never received. Would love to give higher rating, however I cannot since I never received what I ordered. read more

Excellent options and courteous staff that will do anything to make you happy. I walked into Q one day in need of a shirt and new to the custom world. Now I have several trousers, jackets, shirts, two pairs of shoes, and a three piece suit from Q. The construction quality is excellent as is the advice the reps give to help you craft a look that both reflects your personality and your needs (business, weekend, social events). So pour a whiskey (they have a bar), get out a few fabric books, and start cycling through swatches for your next sport coat. The only reason I am not giving Q five stars is that they tend to make small mistakes (wrong buttons on shirts, forgetting heel guards on trousers, getting my name wrong on a jacket) that take time to fix. The fabrics, construction, and fit are excellent and they are always willing to put any mistake right (they once remake a shirt and comped another). Still, they would do better for convenience to have better control over details. I highly recommend. read more

Very disappointed with my experience. Was fitted for a custom shirt and was told it would take 3 weeks. After a little more than three weeks I called and it was not ready. No big deal, they said they would call when it came in. Another week and a half later, I call to check and it's been there for a week. Go in to be fitted, it is not anywhere close to a good fit. Way too tight in the neck (could not button), too narrow in the shoulders and the sleeves. Basically felt like an off the peg shirt that was a size too small. They said they would remeasure me and rush a new shirt. Three weeks later, I call for status. They couldn't tell me because the assistant who had helped me was not there (I guess nobody else could look up the status). I was told he would call me back the next day. He didn't. Two days later I call again. My replacement shirt has not been ordered yet. This is now two months after they took my money. I tell them not to bother, and ask for my money back. Manager talks to me, says he will give a refund, but insists they will order the shirt for me anyway and give it to me free as a sign of goodwill. It will be a rush order and it will be in within ten days. A week later, someone calls me for my credit card number for the refund (they waited a week!) Another week later, I check my credit card and still no refund. I call and they say they will do it immediately. "Rush" shirt is still not in. It's now been four weeks, and my rush order shirt is still not in, and I am not holding my breath. Worst service I've had in any clothing store, and I expected so much more. read more

My first experience with Q Clothier (other than a few accessories over the years) was within the past few weeks. Suits, shirts, casual pants and shirts. For the custom work, I needed just a few simple adjustments after the first fitting. Went in for a custom suit for my upcoming wedding. Read a favorable review in D Magazine, so figured why not. From what I can tell of other reviews, customer service here is really hit or miss, and my experience was definitely a miss. I scheduled an appointment via the website, and was called the same day to ask for details, which was a great experience so far. When I went to the store I was greeted by a saleswoman right away, which was also great. An hour later, and I left with mixed feelings. My budget was ~$2000 for a custom suit and shirt so my expectations were fairly high. We went through multiple swatches of materials, and I really never got a feel for why I'd want one type over another. I didn't even know what the materials were, just that they were "fine Italian". When she measured me, she did so in the middle of the store, not to the side, not in front of a dressing mirror (which they had in the corner). When I changed to try on pants, she led me to the restroom, not a dressing room. A restroom. Did I mention I'm buying a $1500 suit? All in all, I didn't get a feel she was a suit expert really. I felt more like a went to a Banana Republic and someone helped fill out a custom suit order form for me. I left not placing my order for my suit, saying I'd need the weekend to think about it. She then followed up with me a few days later, which was good, although she might have just wanted that sale. I told her about my bad experience and uncomfortable feeling about the purchase, and she took it as well as I'd expect. She apologized and said the manager will be contacting me. It's been a week, and no call. This is where the review drops to one star. Since then, I've found a much higher level of customer service at another men's custom suit store, where I was helped by an incredibly knowledgeable salesperson, and wasn't forced to change clothes in a bathroom. read more

They have nice clothes over at Rye 51. But I have used their "custom" services for a shirt and it fit terrible. Also I bought a pair of AG's and they hemmed them way too short. Very disappointing. They had Ferragamo shoes for 50% off and they didn't have my size, they told me that would order them...that was back in Sept 2014...well after checking for 3 months and being told they "never came in"...I give up on this place. Too bad because they do have nice clothes and I have several custom shirts and suits and would not get one from them. read more

Had them make a shirt for me. They didn't make the button holes correctly as agreed upon. Asked them to fix a suit jacket and they sent me down the street to Cho's who ended up doing a poor job on the suit alteration as well. Rarely one can find a clothing store were they sell top quality lines and threat you like the only customer in the world. First, their products are incredible. The fabrics, styles and designs are elegant, hip and not overpriced. Second, their stylists are unbelievable. I work with Jordan and she goes the extra mile to accommodate to your schedule. In addition, she keeps me honest with my choices, tells me what are the best colors and fabrics for my taste, and ensures I get the value for my spend. Third, the store itself is amazing. It's centrally located and has a incredible group of cooperating professionals. When I go there, I'm welcomed with great enthusiasm by everyone. I feel like I'm being attended by a whole team not just an individual. Last, they have all types of clothes available from business suits to casual. I have waited a while to write this review. I couldn't be more disappointed in Q. A group of us had an event at the store. I was measured for 3 shirts and a pair of slacks. 8 weeks later I received the goods. Non of the shirts fit well and none fit the same (I thought it was custom). The slacks also didn't fit. I contacted the store they first wanted pictures then said send it back and they would make adjustments. 3 weeks later I got the shirts back all fit better but not yet correct. At the same time Q asked me to send a pair of slacks that fit me correctly so they could measure and remake my slacks. During the first week of March 8 weeks after I sent it all back I received 3 new shirts all fit well now but also got another pair of pants that were not the same measurements as the pair I provided and can't be worn. I live in So Cal so I can't go there to complain. The woman that handled this had told me I would receive a $200 credit what I didn't know was that was not on my credit card but to buy more at Q. That's not going to happen. I'm sorry but to me custom doesn't mean take measurements and send it off to China for production. Buyer beware!!! read more
