Today we decided to try Q Daddy's a new local restaurant. It's a brand new restaurant. It is nicely decorated and played appropriate themed music. A lady met us at the door and when she learned it was our first visit proceeded with a pretty lengthy description of the menu and how all of their food was homemade. She was helpful but frankly, we were anxious to order. The menu is not expansive but it had a decent selection. My grandson and I both got the pulled pork sandwiches. They haave a good selection of side dishes. I got their cheesy potatoes - like all gratin potatoes - and baked beans. My grandson got their french fries and mac and cheese. The disposable drink cups they provide are branded plastic 20 oz which are surprisingly good quality. They have three different types of sauces on the table which are decent but none really hit it out of the park. However the pulled pork sandwiches were tender and juicy and really didn't need a lot of sauce. My grandson's eyes lit up when he tasted the mac and cheese. He looked at me and said this is the real thing! I tried it and he was right. My cheesy potatoes were just as good. If I had to be critical, the one thing on the plate which was not super was their hush puppies which were good and of a decent size, but was a bit overcooked. While we were eating we noticed a sign on the table which advertised $3 milkshakes between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. We both got milkshakes to go and they were wonderful, just like homemade. Frequently, new restaurants encounter challenges is the come up to speed. And I have seen earlier reviews of qdaddies that suggested they went through a phase of that. However I can now say that they have hit their stride and is an excellent new addition to Yorktown. read more

The bad reviews are unfortunate as we had a very pleasant time here. The space was super clean and has lots of natural lighting during the day! The staff members are super friendly, and we highly recommend coming in to sit down instead of going through the drive-thru so you can ask questions at length about what they offer. You also get to sample their food options so you know what the food items taste like before you buy them! We got one of the bigger platters and the food was made fresh, piping hot, and everything was delicious! When I heard they were opening a Q Daddy's in Yorktown I HAD to try it out! I went on a Saturday around 12 and it was pretty busy. Drive through was full and inside had a line but they move fast! The staff were very welcoming and did not seemed phased by the amount of traffic coming in and out. The place remained clean and stocked up on everything that they had to offer. The food was very good! We wanted to try a little bit of everything. We got the mega sampler and added the two sides with two hush puppies. Brisket: Not a Texas style brisket but it was flavorful, juicy, a little fatty and had a nice glaze to it. Pulled pork: a mix between North Carolina bbq and a sweet bbq flavor (tangy and sweet) Chicken tenders: crispy, juicy and a pretty good tender ( try it with their awesome sauce, tastes like a lighter chick fila sauce) Jalapeno cheese sausage: a little greasy but flavorful Smoked chicken salad: not my favorite, it was a little sweet, I like mine more savory but my wife loved it. Mac n cheese: pretty good, definitely not velveeta, it's homemade you can tell they use a bechamel sauce. Baked beans: ok, I don't really eat baked beans but they weren't bad, a hint of cinnamon in their bbq sauce Cheesy potatoes: pretty good, not my fav thing I had but still good. My husband was one of the first in the door when this location opened,so I had to try it even though it was Sat at noon. Parking was surprisingly ample with a brisk drive through business. On entry the line to order was inching along with plenty of staff to fill orders. We grabbed a table when we saw it rather than stand there with a heavy tray looking forlorn. We decided to split a sampler and try sides of cheesy potatoes and extra bacon cheese puppies. We each got a large drink and I grabbed an oversized molasses cookie. The portion was generous considering we split it and still came home with a small takeout container. There were plenty of sauces and 3 on the table. They were all sweet and I did not enjoy them at all. Will have to try something else next time. The brisket was sliced thick which is unusual. I did not try the tenders as I like mine heavily breaded but my husband likes them a lot. I think this will be a popular eatery for this area of York County. I know a lot of people, including myself have been waiting for this barbecue joint to open for quite a while. My opinion is true pulled pork smoked barbecue comes plain with your choice of sauces. I went through the drive-through and ordered a quart of barbecue that was $38 and the menu did not say anything about it being sauced. Got home and found out it already has the most disgustingly sweet sauce on it. One bite is all it took to know that I would not be eating any more of it. . I like a Carolina style sauce, vinegar and peppers or a mustard sauce not pure sugar. Their barbecue is in the absolute sweetest sauce I have ever tasted. I had several people try the barbecue that I bought and each one said that it was nothing special and they would never pay $38 for a quart. I was also hoping that they had smoked turkey because I wanted to order some of that for my mother, but they don't have smoked turkey on the menu. I don't really see a reason for me to go back. I can't really comment on service as I went through the drive-through but when I asked for sauce, they could have told me there was sauce already on the barbecue and then I would've addressed that issue then. read more

We love Q Daddy's! They go above and beyond for their customers and even have diapers and wipes and feminine products available in the bathroom. The staff is very friendly and everything is truly homemade which I love! I haven't had anything here that I haven't liked. It's a little expensive for our personal budget but we love to come here on special occasions and think it's worth the price! Would highly recommend! read more

We have been so excited to try this new place, and we finally had the opportunity. Of course, you have to give them grace because they are brand new. As of now, they have not made a customer out of me... but I will come back in a few months to see if they have gotten better. First, they didn't have ribs. Then we wanted to try all the meats, so we got the mega sampler, but they gave us the regular sampler. Then we asked for mac and cheese as a side, and we thought they were going to bring out a new pan, but nope... the guys scraped the bottom of the pan and somehow made just enough for a small side. I was okay because we paid for the combo, which was like $6, that came with two sides and Hush Puppies, but if I had paid $3.25 for that side, I would've been upset. Furthermore, while the young lady was serving our meat, the guy serving the sides was standing there with empty containers, not being productive. He should have taken the time to wipe down the lines and refill the pans. The meat juices and food were just all over the place, while too many people were standing around. Lastly, I had to wait a while to receive my hushouppies, which makes no sense. If the combos come with hushpuppies and the idea is that most, if not all, customers will get a meal... why not just consistently drop hushpuppies before you run out?! Overall, the place was busy, and the members were nice, but they need more experience and training. I did enjoy the decor. As far as prices, one sampler/meal came to 26 dollars. read more

Pretty delicious beef bangers and chicken tenders. I had the broccoli salad and I really liked the sweetness and crunch in the broccoli. The jalapeno cheddar banger could use more spiciness. Same with the sweet and spicy bbq sauce could use more spice. read more

Came here for lunch with my California family who can be somewhat particular . We were incredibly impressed by the immediate warm greeting right when we opened the door from Ms Stella who explained to us how to order while listing off house favorites. All employees were so welcoming at the counter and gave us samples of EVERYTHING . Incredible BBQ food and atmosphere, 10/10. JossAlynn took our order at the speaker, and then we noticed two cars ahead of us had the two biggest dogs I've ever seen sticking their heads out the window. Went to QDaddy's on a Friday evening, they were swamped, the staff was confused, slow, and very flustered on how to handle what was happening. The line was nearly out the door, and the staff were telling people where to move to open more flow. The dining area was small. I feel this is too much catering to the previous business and trying to keep that memory alive. The design was nice, country style. The food was mid at best, a little high priced 65.00 for a sandwich and sampler. There are so many BBQ joints in the area, this one didn't stand out. I may go back to see if maybe I missed something. There has to be a better way to handle ordering. I will try it again as it is new, and every place deserves at least 2 shots in my opinion. Went here today with my wife and kids. We had the pulled pork which was delicious, the brisket, lean and delicious, as well as a bunch of sides. The Mac and cheese my son loved and he's tried it pretty much everywhere he's ever eaten. The rest of us enjoyed it too. The baked beans were yummy, and the hush puppies were great too. Not too dried out like they are in a lot of places. My daughter loved the fresh cole slaw as well. We have been to Scoots at least a dozen or more times over the years on our trips here to see family. I can definitely say I won't be back there any time soon. The last 3 or 4 times food was dried out and not cheap either. Give this place a try, delicious food, nice atmosphere and good service. read more

First the ordering system was ridiculous, I was the 5 person in line when they opened but took me 15 to get to the order counter. People in line did not look at the menu and had no idea what they wanted. Second they are to expensive for what you get, I ordered the sampler. It was BBQ, chicken tenders and brisket. The BBQ was ok, the brisket was dry and not much taste. It had 3 chicken tenders, one was good the other 2 over cooked. Also they don't offer water so you have to purchase a drink. My wife stopped a qdaddy in Grafton to pickup a 1lb. OF brisket. She got home found she had the wrong order. She called them and was told the were out of brisket as they were closing. She called back a few minutes later to see if we could Rectify the Situation and was told they all of a sudden have some . Where did they find it left overs or trash? We tried out Q Daddy's today. We were fortunate enough to get there just prior to the lunch rush on a weekday. Love how clean the place is. a lady named Stella is assigned to the dining area. She is very sweet and helpful. My companion got a BBQ sandwich. We split some fries and hush puppies. I got mac and cheese. Everything looked great. My friend said the sandwich was good. It looked moist and fresh. The french fries were good, hot and crisp. Flavor wise I would say average. The hushpuppies were a 6 out of 10. The mac and cheese was not to my taste, The pasta seems overcooked and the flavor was bland. The atmosphere was friendly and clean. The noise level was horrific. The lines were to the front door. The poor chef on meats has to weigh out every portion. The staff is lovely. The noise is a turn off. So glad we tried it. No need to do so again. read more
