My bestie recommended this place for our little beach snacks and sandwiches. I tried the heather mini peanut and jellies on croissants and the Monroe Chicken sandwich . Spectacular! I have been anxiously awaiting for Cravings to open. TIP: Go ASAP. They can and have been know to sell out fast. They are active on Instagram and Facebook. They opened up about a month or so ago. I live about 80 min away from Cape Charles. So I generally I plan a day trip to visit. My kiddos and I had a Monday trip this week. I was worried they may not be open since sometimes Monday's are a day businesses close to recover from the summer weekend rush. But, they were open! When we arrived we headed straight back to where they are located inside of Table & Tonic.... Super cute store by the way. They still had a pretty good selection around 12:30pm. We picked up some sandwiches, chips, pasta salad, soda and their homemade desserts. They have a whole self checkout system set up. You bag it, and pay for it all on your own. They have plastic wear and condiment packets if needed. The male there (assuming owner) was great. He was attentive and helped a customer chose their sandwich... which ended up being the chicken salad. The sandwiches were fantastic! Fresh and tasty! My favorite was The Virginia. It was like a chicken Caesar salad on focaccia. The bread was perfect, not hard at all. My children raves about the chicken salad sandwich. Their two pasta salad options are a perfect accompaniment to the sandwiches. One is a creamy base and the other is more of an oil and vinegar type of base. Both were absolutely delicious! The salads looked fresh and the homemade desserts were a sweet bonus to everything. I do wish there is lighter options, as tthey do not weigh so heavy on the stomach for the beach. This is such a perfect beach day sandwich place. Everything is grab and go prepared and very nicely laid out with descriptions on the sandwich labels. We tried the Mason and the Shore Thing. They were both cold, fresh, and delicious. The staff were friendly and happy to answer my question about the sauces on the sandwiches. This was situated in the back of a super cute shop. What a disappointment. I stopped in to buy some food for our lunch and they had only a few sandwiches and a large tub of pimento cheese left. I had gone the day before and bought a Caesar salad and a small Greek pasta salad because that was all they had. Neither were remarkable. When I said I'd come back to get sandwiches and a Greek salad the person working said we won't be making Greek salads. Essentially you're out of luck or come earlier. I'm not sure I'd depend on this as a lunch option when I come in the future. Luckily more options are popping up around town. read more

Hands down the best sandwiches in Cape Charles. Cravings makes a PERFECT beach sandwich. My personal favorite is the Front St. Fresh baked croissant, thinly sliced ham, nice thick slice of Swiss, with lots of cravings sauce (I love that they don't skimp on the sauce!) and the best part is the bread never gets soggy no matter how long I wait to eat it. Prices are fair and the items are fresh and delicious. We found several cute gift ideas for upcoming Mother's and Father's Day as well as a few take away items for ourselves. My friend and I took a day trip to Cape Charles. After walking the trails in Kiptopeke Park, we wanted to get something easy for lunch. She had looked up this place and suggested some grab and go sandwiches and I was all for it. The sandwiches are $9 and I had the HARDEST time choosing just one. They all looked and sounded so delicious. I went with the Tazewell, which they stated was their best seller. The staff was so friendly, talking me through the sandwiches and daily prep. The croissant bread is baked fresh every morning. I was eyeballing the Cronuts but didn't get them. I did hear a lady walk buy on the sidewalk eating one and she exclaimed, "OMG best thing I've ever had!" This was the most satisfying sandwich and it hit the spot! This is a cute little shop that doubles as a sandwich shop in the back. While I didn't eat here, I did drop by to browse their shopping selection when I was in town. If you are in the area and need to assemble a full gift, this is the place to do it. Located in Downtown Cape Charles on their main street, Cravings has a surprisingly large selection of inventory. You could seriously purchase your card, wrapping paper and gift here! I was absolutely obsessed with their collection of kitschy feminist ornaments (?) that I pictured below. Such clever gifts. For being here on an "off" time for Cape Charles, I was surprised how crowded it was. The store is colorful, impeccably organized and has no shortage of goodies to explore. It's clearly a local favorite! Plan your visit accordingly and you will almost certainly walk out with some excellent treasures. read more

I love the concept of the restaurant and, to pull you into the restaurant, you have to check out Tonic & Table gift shop first (or vice verse). The quality of the food was amazing and the staff were mostly very friendly. Even the pricing is reasonable. Although my only complaints are probably part of the concept, I was a little surprised that all the food is grab and go (unless I am misunderstanding that bit), so they don't actually make any food for you specifically; it is still surprisingly fresh and tasty for grab and go though. The worst thing, though, was no seating inside, and the space inside (at Cravings / Table & Tonic) was pretty tight. That'd be great if, down the road, they intend on moving to a bigger location one day. I had to eat at 1 of the 4 benches in the front so close to 3 other people (on the bench next to me) that I felt like I was with them, and all 4 of us noted how many flies there were all over us while eating. Only mentioned that last sentence to note how the "no inside eating" was an actual issue. For me, possibly the best restaurant in Cape Charles (everything else was either closed at the moment or looked too high-priced), but even the best isn't always perfect, at least not at the moment. read more

We've enjoyed town favorites like the Pimento Cheese and Country Ham, The Shore Thing (turkey, swiss, zesty sauce) - lots of others! Most sandwiches are wrapped in an elegant croissant square - these are incredible, moist and delicious (not as messy or fussy as a traditional croissant). When you come in it looks like a store (which has some good stuff look there too!) but in the back they have a nice selection of prepared sandwiches, salads, and snacks! It's definitely worth a stop to grab some stuff and take it down to the beach that's what we did at least and we were very pleased! The girl at the deli counter told us that they make their bread for the sandwiches in house, which I thought was cool! And there's an awesome little self checkout spot set up so you can easily purchase your food (: We had a little pimento cheese sandwiches on croissant's that were super yummy. TL:DR - Everything they make is great - the hardest thing is making a choice of what to eat!! We live in Cape Charles, and get to Cravings a minimum of 2-3 times a week. Everything they make is great - I haven't had anything I didn't like yet, and I've had pretty much everything. The sandwiches are fresh, big, and tasty, on either croissant or focaccia bread. They're all good, but if I can't spend an hour trying to decide, I'll grab a Tazewell (turkey, bacon, gouda, and chipotle aioli on a croissant) or a Monroe (chicken salad on romaine on a croissant - their chicken salad is exceptional!). The sandwiches are big - we often eat a half and save half for the next day, it's just as good! Their pizza is awesome - pizza Tuesdays are a habit with us. Pepperoni, cheese, bacon gouda, you name it, it's all great. Their family meals are awesome - my mouth waters thinking of Cajun Andouille Alfredo. Their desserts are terrific -brownies are a special favorite. They make "cronuts" - square glazed donuts made from a croissant - that are fabulous! They do have special kids servings and selections - there's enough there for a non-ravenous adult too! Their process is simple. They're located in the back of Table and Tonic (a great cute little shop), with everything in the display case. Once you've made your selection (the hardest part, though Matt and Margaret are always friendly and ready to help you!), grab it, go to the self-check out terminal, use your phone or credit card, grab a bag, and you're on your way! They're active on Facebook and Instagram, posting specials frequently, and have a web page at https://capecravings.com. They can cater and put together larger orders if you let them know in advance. We were in Cape Charles for about 3 weeks and I went to Cravings almost every day to pick up delightful treats. We checked out Cravings for the first time this weekend, and we we're blown away with just how phenomenal their grab and go cuisine was! The owners make all of their breads, sauces, and dressings and trust me, you can tell. We got the Washington, Northampton and the Greek pasta salad for lunch and it was so good that we ended up going back for more so we could take the extra sandwiches and their pasta salad back home with us! They are located at the back of Table and Tonic, so you can check out the adorable shop while you're picking up your meal.
