I went to Q Nails last week while visiting central Massachusetts. I'm from LA. I got a gel mani. It was awesome. The place is nondescript and small, but the manicure was really amazing. One of those hidden gems. I got a cute French tip. My manicurist painted on the tips basically freehand and it was stunning. The interior was pleasant, clean, and the staff had a sense of humor. I have given myself better pedicures. Maybe the gentleman is dunes to dainty feet. I have dead skin and callouses so when I ask for a pedicure it's more therapeutic than beauty oriented. Meh.. I did not find this place very clean. The rugs on the floor are worn. I'm not quite sure if they use a different nail file for each person, I tried to pay attention but couldn't see if they change them out. They were not very interested in me. I would tell you the name of the person who did my manicure and pedicure but she didn't speak English and barely greeted me and did not tell me her name. That being said I felt very uncomfortable the whole time, every time I tried to communicate it was unsuccessful. my pedi was ok but felt rushed. The leg massage was very nice. My gel manicure was great she did a good job on my nails but it was very strange being across from somebody who did not know how to communicate. I have to say I will not be back. I'd rather try some of the salons in the area that are newer and cleaner. read more

I had to get my nails done for an event I was heading to while visiting from San Diego. I am from Acton so I like staying local for services. Great location and easy parking. Very friendly. I was just getting a fill so easy in and out of there. A vast array of colors and types of colors, gel, regular, and dip. The price was higher than I expected for the area. I pay about $10 less in CA. All in all, it was a good experience and will send my mom there in the future. read more

The quick version: I am currently on antibiotics after getting an infection during a pedicure at Q Nails. The full story: I recently moved to the area and was in need of a new place to get my regular pedicures. I read great reviews on Q Nails and it is fairly close to my house. The experience was fine and the end result was a good pedicure. This was a Thursday evening. Saturday morning I woke up with a terribly itchy and unsightly rash on my lower ankles. The pants I wore to get my toes done didn't pull up very high and thank god. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with folliculitis - an INFECTION. The hair follicles on my ankles are infected due to the lack of cleanliness at Q Nails and I am currently on antibiotics. In all my years of pedicures I have never had an issue and after this it is going to take me a long time to get back in a pedicure chair. So, unless you take your pedicures with a round of antibiotics I would steer clear of Q Nails. read more

Kim went in with her GC today, no appointment and came out raving - "best manicure/pedicure I've ever had". That warrants a pretty positive review, right? Returned here recently and felt it was a great value at $30 for the pedicure. The tech did a thorough exfoliating scrub on my foot and heel and the paint job was excellent. Went to a place recently in Concord that was cheaper but the service wasn't as thorough. Would return again! read more

Unfortunately I have to give this salon a two star review even though the staff was really nice and they squeezed my friend and I In for service. The nail tech that did my manicure cut my cuticle and really rushed my gel manicure. The edges were so uneven, the tips of the nails were bare in some spots where she didn't completely finish the paint stroke, two of my nails chipped the next day after showering bc I believe the manicure was done too quickly and carelessly. My toes looked great! However a day later my middle toe became red, swollen, and painful. It was infected. I think the tech my have cut my skin on my toe as well but I didn't notice until it became infected. I will not be going to this salon again. read more

The service at Q Nails was exceptional, friendly, and timely. My manicurist did what seemed to be a BEAUTIFUL job on my nails. The problem was that my shellac chipped in days. I've had shellac numerous times and it's lasted up to six weeks with no chips. Heck, I've never had a shellac mani chip. This one chipped in about 4 days and progressively continued to chip all over. The nail polish quality must not have been a very good brand, I was shocked how short lived my beautifully done shellac mani lasted. :-/ read more

My sister and I got our toes done for my trip to Jamaica. We had a great experience and our toes look great! We got a bottle of water each when we arrived and our chairs were reclined and set to massage. The foot and leg massage was much longer than I expected - not that I'm complaining! The ladies are very gentle and pleasant. They even gave us plastic to put over our toes to ensure nothing smudged when we put our boots back on to leave. I highly recommend Q Nails. This is my favorite area nail salon. The owners are a super nice couple, very accommodating & friendly. The salon goes above & beyond health code requirements for cleanliness. Update 4/15/19: I went back today to get my terrible nails fixed, and when I arrived they said I had to wait because only Hung/Henry (not the guy I had last time) was the only one that can do tips. Well no wonder mine were so bad the first time!! Why did they let someone they know can't do tips do them?? Anyways, Hung/Henry was fantastic. Sweet, very attentive to detail, stopped every step of the way to make sure I had no concerns, and explained everything whenever I had questions. 100% the opposite of my previous experience. He gave me a discount to make up for the 2+ hours of my time I lost having to come back, so I added that to his tip. I'm increasing my rating because I think my luck was just super bad last visit. This time I got exactly what I came for. 4/13/19: Good for a last minute mani/ pedi, terrible at anything else. An old friend swore by them for her weekly mani/pedi, and I never saw her nails look shoddy. However when I went for gel they did not turn out well. When I went for dip powder it was a DISASTER. The shape was terrible despite me telling them every step of the way and the guy insisting "not done yet! I'll fix it!". Then their dip powders were mislabeled, so I ended up with neon lavender instead of the professional gray I picked out. After the first nail I and my daughter both said it's the wrong color, and he said "not done yet! It will change!" I had never had dip powder so I thought maybe the hardener chemical might affect the color? Then after 2 coats of violent lavender he says "ok color not going to change. Sorry." And brings over the owners husband who tells me he'll give me 5% discount since it will take too long to take it off (by that point I'd already been there almost 2 hours). I said as long as he could fix the shape it would be fine id deal with it. He said the hardener was already on and the shape couldn't be fixed. At that point I went to the bathroom and cried. I was already running late to a professional event, and now I had what looked like lopsided Lisa frank colored lee press on nails!! When I got myself together I came back out and said to take them off. He said it would take too long I could come back another day to get them taken off. I was so fed up at this point I said fine. They said they wouldn't charge me for mine. I paid for my daughters nails only and left. Since it costs money to take them off, I'm going back to them to get them removed, lest I end up paying money for their mistake. It just seemed like they had a guy with no experience doing mine. He put the tips on crooked and kept insisting he'd fix them when he filed. He cut me until I bled. He never even pushed back my cuticles or filed my nails! I've never cried at a nail salon before (I'm a grown woman) so I guess there's a first time for everything! read more

I went in to have a shellac manicure done and they were wonderful. I was very pleased with the staff, cleanliness of the salon and especially the quality of the work. She told me if it started to chip or peel at any time in the next two weeks to come it and they would fix it up or free. It didn't peel or chip but the fact that they offered speaks volumes. I went to this small salon for the first time yesterday because I am new to the area and wanted to find a decent and affordable place to get a mani/pedi. This place is it. Not the fanciest place in the world but the staff is very nice and attentive, do a fantastic job and I got my services at a great price. The salon was clean and from what I could tell they had a lot of repeat business. A lot of the women in the salon had been there before and the staff knew them by name. I think that's nice. I am the type of person who loves having groomed nails and toes and a relaxing experience but doesn't want to be in the nail salon for 3 hours. I don't even really care about the massage. After moving to acton in the spring a friend told me about q nails. I was pleased to find that Q is a no frills, fast and friendly type of place. They are clean and have a large selection of colors to chose from. They always offer you a beverage and make an effort to make recommendations for you in a warm and friendly way. They are also a great value with reasonable prices and top quality work. I usually like to come during the weekdays, on my lunch breaks, because when it's slow, these girls sure know how to spoil you with longgggggggg and relaxing massages. If I could give zero stars, I would. My whole experience was bad. I stood waiting at the desk for about 5 minutes before someone came to help me while about three of the employees just looked up from what they were doing and stared at me. None of them were friendly except for what seemed to be the owners husband. I got a pedicure and a manicure. Both were awful. I had nail polish on my skin on every single finger, and nail polish on my skin on almost every toe. It looked like the kind of job my 8 year old cousin would have done. They run a professional and efficient business but are also friendly and caring toward the customers. They are also very accommodating and will often take walk ins or last minute appointments. Great gem in West Acton. I go there spring through fall for pedicures, and am never disappointed. At times I've taken my kids and they get their nails done too. Prices are very reasonable, services are great, my pedi lasts for 2weeks or more usually. Cannot recommend enough!! read more

I chose Q Nails for my mani/pedi today based on the reviews I read here on Yelp. I have to say, I was not let down. I had the best pedicure I have ever received today. The leg massage was amazing - definitely the longest I've ever had. The salon is understated, but very clean. The ladies were so attentive to detail and insisted on fixing the smudges my mother in law and I both did to our nails before leaving. All of the staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great - I mentioned my phone was dying and the person at the front desk offered to plug it in and charged it while my nails dried!
