I have been here twice now for a pedicure with a friend. Both times I told them I wanted the basic package $35. But somehow I notice that a little bit more is done during the pedicure and then I am charged $50 (the next package up). I was so excited to try this salon out when everyone recommended it I went for a pedicure. The guy who did mine didn't listen when I said not to cut my nails too short and he ended it up cutting them so short that he cut me and didn't even say sorry. He could be a little more gentle on peoples feet. Even with the scrubber he scrubbed so hard he took some shin off on my bones. read more

Honestly I'm pretty bummed with my experience based on all of the good reviews. Got my nails done yesterday for my SIL's wedding and four of them have already chipped. They haven't even made it 24 hours and now I have to paint them on my own :( I get my nails done pretty frequently and they've never chipped this fast. The manicure felt super quick. My nails were clipped with cuticle trimmers and filed with the rough file just on the edges. Nothing was buffed or smoothed out so the edges are still a bit rough. My partner had a great manicure and had her nails buffed and everything, I think it just depends on who you get. Maybe my guy was having a bad day. Everybody else seemed really nice! read more

I had a great experience here. Came in for a pedicure (no appointment) and was greeted by the sweet staff. Their selection of colors included the bigger brands and also some really fun spring colors. No one tried to upsell me on anything and the girl who did my pedicure was awesome!! Great foot and leg massage, massaging chairs, cozy atmosphere and no one rushed me out. It was very peaceful and just what I needed that day. This place does perhaps lack the pizazz of something like Nailed or another more boutiquey nail salon but for the price ($25.00 for my basic pedicure) and service I would recommend this to anyone. I occasionally get acrylics done here and they're always so kind and professional. They aren't rough like other places I've been to and they do a great job. And for $25 for a full set of white tips, you just can't beat that. The woman who did mine was very quick, yet careful about doing a good job. I asked about the price for designs on the acrylics and she told me they charge $3 per nail. The place is small and cozy, relatively clean, and well ventilated. They have a big fan to keep the place air conditioned, and small fans on each mani desk that they turn on to help with the fumes. Over all, I'm very happy. I recently went here for ballerina/coffin shaped nails specifically because another Yelp review mentioned this was the place to go for those shapes. While my nail technician here did her best copying the picture I showed her, this wasn't something she was good at and my nails ended up literally all breaking and coming off within a week. I spent almost $40 for something that simply didn't last. I wouldn't recommend this place based on the quality of work that I received here. She also did not build the nail close enough to the cuticle (stating it was due to my cuticles, but I've never had that problem before and I get my nails done all the time) so walking out the door they looked like they had grown out. read more

I am sorry to be the first review on here and a negative review but people should know before they waste their money - do NOT get a manicure here unless you like paying $15+tip for a worse manicure than you can give yourself. The two people working there were very nice but both worked on my hands and the first one - the one that shaped, filed, and cleaned the cuticles - all I can say is.....was that her first day? Doing nails, ever? Sweet girl, but coooome ooooon. And the second woman that worked on my nails - painted them - I can paint them better at home with higher quality nail polish than what they used there. My nail polish was bubbling up after 30 minutes and cracking and peeling within 2 days. In comparison, I got a pedicure several weeks ago at a salon in Burlingame, CA for $30 - but man was that worth it. 4 weeks later and my toes still look beautiful!!! Now I realize hands are different than toes, but I have had manicures before, so I know that at the very least, your hands & nails shouldn't look worse than before you went in. I went back to Q nails for the second time because I had a good experience the first time. But the second time was a nightmare. The manicurist was untrained, it took forever to finish, and the nail polish were coated unevenly and came off as I drove home. After spending an hour and $17, I'll have to go to another nail salon tomorrow. It was a complete waste of time. Will never go back there again. read more

The other reviews cannot be true. I wanted to like this place because I live so close but it was just bad. And I'm not picky. All of the nail polishes were old. The shellac selection was sad and the brush from the polish kept falling off onto my nails. The woman took forever trying to fix it but she was working with really poor materials. I felt bad for her. On top of it all the prices were more than most nail salons in the area. They were the same price as some higher end salons I've been to! Just crazy. However, the girl next to me was getting false eyelashes put on and she was very happy about them. So perhaps that's their strong point. Seriously the best nails in salt lake. I get complimented and asked where my nails are done almost everyday. They do unique nails, and I am pleased after each visit. If you want coffin or claw or any other shape this is the place to go! They are quick and I seem to fit them in my busy schedule without taking hours out my day to get a manicure. read more

I just went here at lunch for a pedicure and had a great experience. This place is so close to my office, I figured I'd give it a shot. I have no regrets! The two ladies working (one was the owner) were super sweet and did a great job. (I would note, however, that the cuticle removal was a bit painful for a couple of minutes.) There are only four chairs here, but we were the only two people in the shop (Tuesdays are their slow day, FYI). I'll definitely be back again. It's not super fancy and it's pretty small, but I don't need a lot of bells and whistles. I just want a clean environment where I feel welcome - and Q Nails fits that bill! read more

I made appointments for the girls in my family the day before a wedding. We all got mani's/pedi's and were really excited. Cute place, nice staff, all was great but the end results. If you want a great foot and hand massage with nice scrubs and lotions this is the place to go, but if you want a nice polish job I would NOT suggest this place at all. My nails didn't dry for several hours and I could still put a finger print on them the next morning. I think the polish was put on too thick. As they dried (after sitting by the fan for over 30 minutes) bubbles started coming to the surface. I had the worst polish job ever. Theories formed about all of our nails having a bubble issue (and it wasn't one or two bubbles...it was basically the entire nail covered in bubbles-a very lumpy look) and we think it was because of either old product or the fact that no oils from the lotion or wax were washed off before the polish was applied. Because of the time limits we had we could not sit and have them polish our nails again. No real offer was made to compensate for the money we paid out...before our nails were done. Sad day for sure! I'm from out of town and Q Nails was recommended to me for a fill. Mookie (hope I spelled her name right) fit me in and did a great job. She gave great attention to detail. Then I asked about the lash extensions. I decided to have it done-which is not like me to do spontaneous things. She is very gentle and thorough. I fell asleep at one point since it takes a while.
