Met with Dr. Parmalee regarding receiving a steroid joint injection. Dr parmalee reviewed my file…read moreand said that I would hear back from a scheduler in less then a week. Ten days later, I had not heard from them so I called. A week later, I received a call and an injection appointment was made. Had the appointment today and it did not go well. I arrived early for a 9:15 am injection, with Dr. Parmalee. Was told to take off my clothes and put a gown on (for hip joint injection?). Sat in the gown and waited until 10 am before I decided visiting I-Spine was a mistake. I put my clothes back on and left. I have had steroid hip injections before, four this year, with another provider and each time, I left my clothes on and was in and out of the office in 10 minutes. Was frustrated and disappointed with the way my appointment went with I-Spine and their explanation on why it takes so long to have what should be a simple procedure. The explanation they gave was that they allow 60-90 minutes for this procedure that other clinics can successfully complete in less then 15 minute. I-Spine has a system that they follow that works for them, but to me, does not value the patient and the patients time. It seemed like they almost have an assembly line approach were patients are kept in a gown, waiting for their turn to receive care. I dint like this approach.......it is not for me.

Here I go again with Ispine. I can't get anyone to call me back no matter how many messages I leave…read moreon the nurses line. I just got out of the hospital after a 4 month stay and they gave me a very small amount of my pain medications until I can see my provider (Alexis Bolick). Ispine won't give me an appointment until the 17th, so I was told to ask for a bridge prescription to get me through until my appointment. However, NO ONE WILL CALL ME BACK!!!! And I am almost completely out of my medications, which means I will be going into withdrawals. I've been through this before with Ispine and the director called me personally, but evidently the problem has not been fixed. There seems to be no regard for the patient from this company.

Last winter I felt a twinge in the back of my leg, which I thought was a hamstring pull. I stopped…read moreexercising for a month and it felt better, but then suddenly recurred and got steadily worse -- to the point that I could no longer walk more than a hundred yards. I finally saw an orthopedist, who quickly diagnosed a herniated disc and referred me to a PT that he respected. That PT did all the usual visual assessments and thought that it was just a bulging disc, giving me a series of extremely painful exercises that I couldn't get complete. He assured me it was just "my body trying to protect itself", but after four days I decided to seek another opinion. I was familiar with Orthology through several channels, and found a woman in the Eden Prairie office with numerous degrees after her name and a background that seemed in line with my issues. My first PT session was much more hands-on and included some (very painful) massage therapy that seemed to help (my body was so out-of-whack that all sorts of muscles were spasming). I was given a series of stretching and strengthening exercises, along with specific posture recommendations -- some of which were directly opposite what the first PT prescribed. In addition, my PT (Shawn) diagnosed me with spinal stenosis, which I was able to confirm after my own on-line research based on my symptoms. Over the next 12 visits over the course of 6 weeks, my symptoms started to subside and the focus turned from massage to stretching and intense core work. I am now pain-free, but I need to always be conscious of my posture and keep up with my core work. Scheduling was easy and straightforward, with text reminders of upcoming appointments. Payment was very easy (Medicare in this case), and the facility is modern and clean. I'm sure I'll be coming back to address some future issue as my body ages!

I made an appointment with Dr. Eric Koch at Orthology and was able to get in the next day. The office was very clean and they were of course taking proper COVID precautions. Dr. Koch was very friendly and professional, asked me in-depth questions about the pain I was having and massaged out the spots that were causing discomfort. He came up with a personalized recovery plan for me and walked me through several different stretches and movements that would help the healing. The next day I was pretty sore in the areas he had worked on, but two days later my pain was almost 90% gone! I was amazed - after being in pain every time I took a deep breath for almost three weeks, I had gone half the day before I even remembered that I had been injured. Would highly recommend seeing Dr. Koch at Orthology!
