I wasn't able to advance anywhere near the cash register. She then said something completely unclear multiple times and kept up wrapping her burrito. No "I'll be right with you," just mumbling. A second associate then joined her behind the counter. They then proceeded to socialize with each other and completely ignored me. There was no attempts to take my order, complete checkout, or anything. There was no estimated wait time. I'm almost certain that no customer will hang out at the burrito place all afternoon hoping to place an order. Finally I asked whether I can place an order. Both associates looked at me with surprise like it's an unusual question. Even after asking there was zero progress made with starting my order. I decided that this is my cue to understand that I'm unwelcome and leave. While the concept of beach-inspired Mexican cuisine with tropical flavors is fun, it's not fun enough to wait forever for. We were hungry and had places to be (and a budget to stay within) so we went to Chipotle to get a chicken lunch bowl (for me) and a chicken salad (for him), both of which are priced at $8.95. So for nearly $20, my boyfriend and I left still hungry, disappointed, and a little grossed out at the dirty interior. The staff was apathetic and the rice was hard and the produce was wilted and pathetic. The chicken was tough as well. The purchase also didn't get turned into points on my Chipotle app, despite me even requesting them be added after the fact so that's a bummer. Sigh... for future meals where I am not making a last minute panic decision, I'll stick to better Chipotle-like places like Qdoba and HotHead Burritos.
