When I need to eat Mexican food in my neighborhood, my friend and I say at the same time: DON RAMON. The menu is vast. It even took us longer to order with so many possibilities. I chose the COMBOS plate of 2 chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. Total yum! Hippolito, our server, was patient and congenial. I finally got to use my $4 coupon. Win! Absolutely terrible..... DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! Chicken was still frozen, soft taco shells were hard as a rock. My friend's tooth cracked from trying to eat it. Our server couldn't smile even if her life depended on it and she was so clueless. We tried to ask for Baileys and she literally said how she's never heard of "Bay Leaves" and didn't think they had it....come on like how can you be that clueless. The servers all sit there and talk about you and make fun of you. Toxic environment and disgusting food. Then when we were leaving, the baldie server told us to never come back and they were all screaming at us. This place should be shutdown. The service was horrible. The waitress was stuck up and rude. Its like she was allergic to smiling. Along with the food being cold and horrible. A family was sat to the right of us that had a child with obvious autism. The staff then grouped together and would point and laugh and talk poorly on the family for putting the child in a highchair. The waitresses would group together and laugh and point at our table as well. We go for a birthday outing to have a nice dinner and a couple margs to celebrate. Then we leave with the manager and our waitress yelling at us for saying we complained too and they told us to never come back. Such poor service our waitress was never to be found half the time. She was not only rude to us but to the mother behind us who had her kids out to dinner with her. Don't go here its seriously a waste of time. read more

This location was in the 11-20 Slot for the top 20 Mexican Restaurants in Cleveland. They named the top 10 but the next ten were in alphabetical order. I'd put it closer to 10 than 20. I found a level of uniqueness with the dish. I had the Chorizo Pollo with Pineapple. Choice of flour or corn tortilla. I'm a corn tortilla person. The jumbo Sangria had little chunks of oranges and limes!! Love the presentation of the fresh fruit. Before you leave be sure to wash your hands in the bathroom the sink is so unique. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Cleveland area. We've been there a few times before and were always impressed with the decor, cleanliness and service. Due to the current restrictions, we recently placed a phone order for pick up. They were able to instill those same characteristics that we enjoy when dining in into the pickup experience. A pleasant hostess greeted us and took payment. All necessary hygiene precautions were in place. They even made sure that not too many people were waiting in the doorway at once. I enjoyed Don Ramón prior to our current social distancing climate. However, my experience with ordering takeout from them now has made me fall in love all over again. I was able to order my families food online. We are a family of 4 and we're still told or order would be ready in 15 minutes. I thought, no way. Well 15 minutes later I received a text to pickup our food. I did not have to enter all the way into the restaurant. Our food was kept at the counter piping hot and the staff were wearing the proper protective garb. The food did not disappoint. Everything was super fresh. Collectively we ordered Chorizo Pollo, Tamales, Chili Rellenos, and rice and beans. They even gave us chips and salsa as if we were dining in. This place is the best! I visit Don Ramon's around once a month or so, and they never disappoint. Quick service, delicious food, and the BEST salsa (hope you like cilantro!). The menu is huge - almost overwhelmingly so! My go to is the Chori Pollo... chicken, chorizo, and grilled pineapple smothered in queso. So good. Everything I've tried at Don Ramon's has been the bomb dot com. They run some great deals on margs and, my personal fave, strawberry daiquiris. There's a pretty good selection of Mexican beers too! So, here's the thing: I wouldn't have come here on my own. I live in a city with a healthy Mexican population. We have tons of good restaurants. But, I cam here on a pilgrimage. Someone I loved very much made it a habit of coming here and turning up. So, in honor of her, I came here and turned up. This is what you expect. It's a suburban Mexican restaurant. The taste profiles are made to fit in with the population. I'm not mad at that. What you can expect here: a laundry list of Americanized Mexican dishes. Lots of cheese, rice and protein. It's all good. What else you can expect: cheap and copious amounts of liquors. If you're a Corona fan, you're in luck. There's plenty to keep you happy. I came here for cheap margaritas. I found them. They kept coming. They did the job (and then some). I doubt I would have come here but for my pilgrimage. It is what it is: cheap, Americanized Mexican fare. If that's your thing, have at it. For one night in October of 2018, it was mine and the sweetened tequila kept coming long enough to make me temporarily forget why I was there... so... good. It was good. I'm a fan but my pilgrimage makes me never want to come back. Pouring a 40 to a memory = 4 stars. Almost always. read more

My Wife and I ate here May 16, 2024 and really enjoyed it. It is relaxed, casual, inexpensive and with great service. We last came here 4 years ago. I had the Parrillada fajita again which again was fantastic. A large quantity of mixed meats (steak, chicken, pork, shrimp) in a delicious sauce. My wife had a combo meal with a relleno, and an enchilada. This was more typical of what we would consider average Tex-Mex. Not very spicy, alot of cheese. The actual chilli pepper in the relleno was nothing special. But there was plenty of it. The service was prompt, the atmosphere relaxed and we really enjoyed it. The only reason it was not 5 star was the combo meal was uninspired. We took home enough for lunch the next day. when we come back we may just order one Parrillada fajita for the two of us. read more

Today was our first visit to Don Ramon. We were thrilled with the ambiance, food and service. The jumbo organic margarita was outstanding! Esmeralda and Antonio provided excellent menu suggestions and service. My husband ordered #16 combo and I ordered 2 fish tacos with rice and a side order of steamed vegetables. The orders were so generous that we were able to take our leftovers home for an additional meal. The restaurant was very clean and each table and floor near the tables were swept to remove any debris. We highly recommend this restaurant and plan to return in the near future. read more

Sadly will say if this was my first time here I would never come back. So out of character for this place. Server was in the front on her cell phone for 20 minutes before coming to take our order. The chips were terrible, when normally fresh. The food was not at all great and I ate about 1/4 of it.. but I think my factory was when the food runner came and said sorry I think we are out of .. you think? Did you look.. nope because finally when the server came over what he said he was out of they had.. never was offered a refill on drinks.. I could go on and on but why. No point to it. The menu gave red flags with all the "No Substitutions" on every page and a sticker covering a "we don't take food or drinks back, make sure you order what you want." Like how much do you have to not care about your patrons. The cheese was some American style cheese product. It was on, in, and around my food. The guac was hyped and come out looking nothing like the menu pictured it. It was watery and tasted like mayo. So gross. 0/0 never again. read more
