Ambiance was live music we got front row seat, it was cute but personally for me it was annoying as hell lol. I just wanted softer music and just to eat and drinks. Overall the food offered here looked very good online, but when the food arrived it was very bland , basic, and small with no flavor. The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was our bill including the additional 15% charge. Most of the cocktails on the menu is very basic classic cocktails. Also, the food items are all pretty much A La Cart, and the inky sides provide are very very very 1 to 2 star restaurant foods. We asked the server what "Disc Service Charge 15%" was, and he told us it's the tip for the kitchen staff. If we like to tip him, it's separate. He was a sweet server ; but, honestly felt scammed after this being our first meal in London and basically paid 35% for basic to mediocre food. The Ambiance was nice if you like live performance. We didn't mind spending money, wanted to go big but this was NOT the big we wanted for this type of food.

What a lovely surprise of a place! We went for dinner here at around 9pm. You descend into the restaurant down some elegant stairs to the bar area first, then a second set to the restaurant. It's got such a nice vibe with the live music playing and the buzz of a nice restaurant. The food and cocktails were delicious but we sent our starter back as it was cold and it took 20 minutes to get them back again! The live music was very good. To begin with it was more of an acoustic sound with a lady singing, and then they added some more members to the band and it turned into a dancing vibe. Would highly recommend it for a fun night out in London

This place is so cool! We loved the live music. If you want to do something different and have a unique experience for brunch this is the place. The food was amazing. You can choose between 2 or 3 courses and we also added the bottomless bubbles! 2 courses was enough for our group. Service was very attentive. The ambiance was fabulous so dress up!

Love music, amazing food, fantastic cocktails and wine list. This place is chic, lively, and famously costed by the queen and other royals.

Fantastic atmosphere in a very fancy area. Staff is VERY friendly and treat you as a welcomed guest. Food is very delicious (had the angus beef). Beautiful bar in the center of the restaurant.

    Cheque please!

Having had dinner here perhaps in the 90's it was fun to return. The dining room which was then bright white has turned into Bordello Fabulous focusing on great music, shadows and vivid back lighting. I am quite sure that this is a great place to party even after decades of it being opened. A few pics , alas as tourist we dined too early to partake of the later activities.

This is now one of my favorite spots in London! From the decor, ambiance, atmosphere to the staff, service and food, it was perfection. We luckily found a spot across the street from the restaurant and were greeted by an attendant who held an umbrella out for since it was raining. They were kind enough to accommodate us even though we were late for our reservation. The wait staff are incredibly friendly and go above and beyond to make your experience special. Our server offered us the menus and told us we will be getting drinks with our meals; but my husband politely declined as we don't drink. The server was so kind and offered us so many different mocktail options and even went out of his way to make them for us at the bar! The food was incredible! We did the 3-course dinner meal and were so pleased with the choices we made. Around 9pm a live band played and we were not rushed out even though we had finished dinner. We sat and enjoined the music and atmosphere for a while. I would def say this beautiful restaurant will be getting on my top 5 places and I can't wait to go back!

    Unique and artsy cocktails.

I can't say enough about how much I loved this restaurant. From the staff uniforms, to the dramatic moody lighting and color palette used around the venue. Very classy and hip with a vintage flair. Highly recommend stopping by for at least a cocktail but dinner is worth staying for and they have great entertainment.

    It was all fantastic!

We came here for my birthday and everything was flawless. From the service to the decor to the food and entertainment. I had a vegetarian starter then mushroom risotto, broccoli, potatoes, and spinach. (It was my special day so I ate everything I wanted, okay?) They were kind enough to give me a birthday dessert and wish me well but I then consumed a chocolate fondant + vanilla ice cream! I couldn't have imagined a better meal or warmer waitstaff. We moved to a table at the bar for the rest of the evening and had more wine, lots of well made old fashioneds, and plenty fun. The jazz band was incredible and the ladies who sang afterward were phenomenal. I couldn't have been more pleased. Everything was perfect. Highly recommended for special occasions or fancy nights out.

Chicken Ballontine- 3.2/5- chicken was pretty good, came with some kind of pasta and vegetable mix that was very oily. Pretty small dish. We were seeing a show after dinner so we had to be mindful of what we ordered. They went out of their way to make forthright suggestions about items and the wines by the glass. The winner was the pea and mint soup. We made reservations at 3pm but it seemed like they had several other tables available for walk-in. The server asked if this was our first time for high tea (not sure if this is protocol or if we were dripping with American vibes). Either way, they were great at walking us through everything to make sure we didn't have any questions. The table settings and overall vibe made me feel like we were super fancy! I ordered the Egyptian Chamomile tea and my husband ordered the Earl Gray. The menu had descriptions of the types of teas which can help you pick out what you'd like. I think we both liked my Chamomile better with a tad of sugar which was on the table. We happened to visit during the Chelsea Flower Show time, so they had 2 different types of specialty desserts- we ordered one of each. The sandwiches were all delicious- I loved the salmon and my husband wanted to ask for the Coronation Chicken Salad recipe. The scones were out of this world, and I have a new favorite food called clotted cream. The desserts were so, so good and had a little bit of everything- chocolate, tarts, fruity...you'll find something you like! To be quite frank, we did our due diligence with finding a place to have high tea. There were some that were almost twice as expensive as this place, and I have a hard time believing they would have been twice as good. If you're looking for a simple afternoon tea experience, make sure to add this to your short list. Brasserie Max is elegant, simple, and delicious- highly recommended!
