The office staff is very kind, knowledgeable and effient. They were able to contact my insurance and get it set for the end of the year. Dr Melissa Pysnak is all of the above and much much more. I have never been in the hands of such a superior, remarkable and outstanding dentist. She is a patient and truly caring and kind person. My tooth was a two hour proceedure that was completed by Dr. Pysnak and the very competent medical staff. This was done with NO pain during or after the proceedure while I was watching My Greek Wedding on a overhead TV. I am overwhelmed wth gratitude for them. If you are looking for this kind of care look no further. Give them a call.

I have never written one of these before but had to. she bullied us into pano X-rays before and now tried to force us to do check up X-rays on my daughter who is in braces and just had some at the orthodontist. yes different kinds of X-rays but the ortho told us this would be okay for this year. so I said no X-rays and then she said well we cannot clean her teeth then. she has been seen every couple months by the ortho who would have seen something and she had her wires in. I might have given in but she was so so rude about it. she was also the one who forced us to do panos and said they can see cavities with them. but then why can they not use the pano the ortho did to detect X-rays. seems to me we were lied to in getting the pano. hi h was also the visit they didn't even have a dentist at all because he moved and the new one was there yet. so we felt like they needed to generate more money so forced the pano which is more expensive. her reasoning like I said was oh we can detect cavities and other things. so again why could our that they made money off of detect cavities but not the ones the ortho did. Her demeaning attitude and blasé care of us when I said we will be leaving the practice then said it all. oh and I was a dental assistant for 15 years so it isn't like I am stupid to dental needs. I get Idaho has something where you have to have them yearly but my daughter did have them. so bottom line I do not recommend this office because of the manager. that and every time I had a dental cleaning and I set mine up six months in advance I would be told they didn't have a hygienist that day and they didn't even try to make it work on a day I could do. then I finally did a date that wasn't good for me and got cancelled on again.

The pain afterward was honestly the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life. I called them multiple times trying to get back in to have it fixed, but they couldn't get me in soon enough to actually help me. I ended up having to go to an emergency dentist because the pain was unbearable, and the only option at that point was to pull the tooth. So the permanent crown I had already paid for ended up being completely useless. At first I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was just an unfortunate accident, because mistakes can happen. But then I went back later for a couple fillings and had another issue, this time with billing. Their billing department told me my insurance still had coverage available and that I wouldn't have to pay a huge amount out of pocket. I paid what they told me at the time, only to later be contacted and told they were wrong and that my insurance had already been maxed out. Now I'm being told I owe almost another $200. If I had known my insurance was already maxed, I would have waited to get the work done until it would actually be covered like 2 months later with the new year.Being given the wrong information and then stuck with the bill later is really frustrating. Between the dental work issue and the billing problems, this has been a very disappointing experience so I got a new dentist this year.

And Dr. Williams is truly a GEM. I didn't feel a thing when he numbed the area, and before I knew it--he went in, pulled the tooth, and was done. No dragging it out, no unnecessary stress. He was funny, calming, and extremely understanding of how nervous and exhausted I was from the pain. What stood out the most was how effortless the entire experience felt. No chaos. No obstacles. Made a silly choice and left at some point to try a different dentist shortly after I got married and got on my husbands insurance, but came back as a patient when I realized what a gem this place is. The other office felt like going to a spa...an expensive spa where they didn't stick to their estimates or prices and kept finding new ways to charge me for services I didn't need. They got back to me first thing Monday morning and got me in that afternoon to see the doctor. Infection had set in by that time and I was starting to feel feverish, but the moment I walked in the door, I began to feel better. Everyone there, from the front desk receptionist to Dr. Lowry's assistant, to Dr. Lowry himself was friendly, caring and responsive to my needs. They clearly communicated my options and convinced me to go with a less invasive procedure. Because of Dr. Lowry's careful preparation and numbing of the area, the extraction itself was absolutely painless. I didn't even realize that he had removed the tooth until he offered to show it to me. Afterwards, Dr. Lowry and his assistant made sure that I understood the post-care protocol and took the time to answer all of my questions. I live in Seattle and visit Boise for work. I wish I could find a practice like this in Seattle.

The other side of the family practice is across the street, maybe they have the water cooler and magazines? Unlike the other review, I have premium dental coverage so I was immediately taken as a new patient. Escorted to one of the exam chairs, felt nostalgic when I looked at the equipment. Young girl asked me to hold the ex-ray plates around my mouth for snapshots. I was a kid again back in the 1970's... This even before meeting the dentist or getting a preview or history. When Jason Carter came over, wearing a mask half down; I said to myself this guy needs to trim his beard. Pleasant enough but nonchalant in attitude and never examined my mouth. Just said let's schedule you for some cleanings. (My last cleaning was six months ago.) Asked about an implant and was told he can recommend someone. OK... Proceeded with a cleaning with no big deal or issues. Found another dental provider who does implants and full dental services under one roof. Visited and was impressed with the up to date facilities and presentation, as well as taking the time to sit with me and go over my dental history and how I would like to proceed. I informed Carter Dental that I will be working with this new provider and to please forward my ex-rays over a week prior to my new appointment as to expedite matters. They were never forwarded right up to the day of my appointment and had to pick them up myself with two requests previously submitted. Then asked if I would still be using Carter Dental in the future... That's unprofessional, made me late for my new appointment which prompted me to write this review. Moving forward, I discarded the snap shot ex-rays and paid for a new set of 3-D full scan with up to date equipment. We all know health care is a business but like all businesses; I believe you should put your customer/ "patient" first.
