Quails sent my sons suit to be tailored and ordered by husband. No one got back to us when they would be in, so We called and they informed us my son's suit was done but my husband's suit was on back order My husband had to call numerous times to see if it was in and no one knew what was going on. With the wedding only 2 weeks away we had no choice but to cancel the order and get out money back. Once we got to the quails in freehold, they had no idea what was going on and couldn't off another solution So at that point we just got our money back. I was thinking of buying some suits. The three-for-one offer advertised by Quails seemed too tempting. So -- mostly for laughs -- I went to check it out. I found two suits and a tux I liked. Usually, three for one means that you pay for the highest priced suit and the two others are free. Simple enough. So I'm about to try on the suit and I ask what the total price would be. Came out to something like $560. So I asked: How'd you get that number? Well, the manager -- who, incidentally wasn't wearing socks even though this is a dressy clothes store -- says: we add up the price of all three suits and take the average. How's that three for one? So, I say, that's not what the sign says. "Yes it does," says he. "Bye," says I. I didn't check to see what it would have cost if I paid for the highest priced one and the other two were free. But this seemed like a shell game. See if you have better luck. At worst, you'll have a half hour of laughs and the salemen will waste their time. read more

Very unprofessional the employees were fighting in front of us as we were trying on suits. Came back a month later after they said that our suits were tailored and ready but they couldn't find them....finally found them after 30 mins but they never tailored the grooms suit after all of that!!!! I bought a suit from here, and I saw the buy 1 get 2 free suits, which was great. I was told I can come in any time of the year to do this deal as long I had a receipt. I went there for groomsmen suits. When I talked to Anthony he told me to wait while he was with another customer. After he was done with the other customer he proceeded to walk around and ask other people in the store if they needed help. I had to go up to him in order for him to acknowledge my party. Horrible customer service. Rented a tuxedo for my boyfriend and they shipped a wrinkled shirt and pants. When I questioned this they informed me that I could take it to a dry cleaner because they did not have a steamer that could steam that quality clothing. The rented shoes came in with a huge scratch and they shipped out a new pair with another scratch. I was told the manager would call me and I have yet to receive a call. It has been 5 days. I want to be clear I am a return customer because of Dominic and would have continue to be a customer had it not been for my experience with Lydia the manager. I see the negative comments and understand that good customer service comes first and starts at the top, that means management. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Lydia on 3 different occasions all of which she said that she would call me back and never did. So I've had to call 4 times to follow up on my question. How are you going to make sure your staff does these very simple tasks, if you can't do it yourself? She also has no customer sense as she would repeatedly talk over me on the phone. I couldn't get out a sentence without her cutting me off, very rude! I won't step foot in here again unless it's to say hi to Dominic. I will be buying my next round of wool suits upstairs next time because of poor treatment from a manager. Do not recommend at all. Customer service by Amir was decent at best but everyone else was extremely bad. Cheap, overpriced suits badly tailored ( went to pick it up on scheduled day and the jacket still had the pins in it). Turns out my pants were not even tailored correctly, each pant legs uneven. This place is the definition of cheap items cost more. Dish out a few extra dollars, get a good suit tailored by PROFESSIONALS, and save yourself the headache. read more

If you care about what your buying and who your buying from them I suggest you do not shop at Quails at the freehold raceway mall. I have personally purchased two suits for quails and though I sit in an office daily for work, these two suits lasted only weeks. The buttons and stitching were the first to go. I have purchased suits from JCpennys for less and they have lasted 3x longer. On top of the low quality goods they sell, the staff is completely unprofessional. I have seen managers treat their employees with little to no respect, including people I know personally. Grown men at this company fight with their teenage employees and treat them completely unprofessional. Don't expect anything to get done efficiently either as they have more "managers" than they have employees and each of them will tell you different things. The next time you go back the promise one manager made to you will not apply to the next. I have never done business with a place so unprofessional before especially with a company that does not respect their own people. I was shocked at the behavior of the salesman at my recent visit to this store but now upon looking through their reviews on google and yelp, it is evident that there is a major service issue in this store going back years based on review dates. Upon requesting assistance seeking sized from sales person Anthony, I was greeted with nothing but attitude and condescension. He wasn't listening to any of my questions and then when I gave up and started to leave, I actually caught him out of the corner of my eye growling and cursing me under his breath! I work in retail and have never experienced such poor service in my life! I was so shocked that he would be so brave to do this right in front of me, I confronted him immediately. First he denied it, then he explained it off by saying "it has been among day." This was 1:00 in the afternoon and the store was empty and he was doing nothing when I approached him! Wait, it gets better. When I asked him his name he quickly replied with "Steve". I left the store and called back shortly after to speak with a manager about "Steve" and was advised that they don't employ anyone by that name! I asked the clerk who the older gentlemen with the black dated suit was up front and he said "oh his name is Anthony." Still shocked beyond belief at the immature and disrespectful of a man his age. read more

I just want to say that this store is absolutely horrendous. I came here to get tuxes for my groomsmen (and 1 suit for my officiant, since he was doing it for me for free) for my wedding and it was absolutely the worst decision of my life. They gave me nothing but trouble. I came here November 2014 for a July 2015 wedding and bought everything from them including tuxes, vest, bow ties, shoes, and shirts... I followed up with them in April (5 months later) to check on the status of the tuxes since they never contacted me. They said they needed another week to get my tux in and that they would contact me... I'm pretty sure they could have made a tux in 5 months, but since it was still early, I didn't make any fuss. They contacted me 2 weeks later to let me know that the tuxes were in. When we went in, they apparently did not have my officiant's suit... they said they had nothing for him and he had to get a completely new one. Also, the tux that they had for me (the groom) was completely the wrong side. The jacket seemed the right size for a fat kid... it was way too wide and way too short; the pants were also way too big. What made things even worse was that the sales person tried to convince me that the length with fine. It's as if I don't wear suits everyday and have no idea how a suit/tux was supposed to fit and they wanted to treat me like an idiot. After 6 months, they couldn't even get my sizing right. But fine, I allowed them to do the alterations. On that day, we also gave them the color of the vests, but of course, they didn't write it down and completely forgot about them... good thing one of my groomsmen visited the next day and confirmed with them to get it done. After about a month, the alterations were done and we went to pick up the tuxes after alterations were done. For the most part, the alterations were okay (not the greatest job, but acceptable)... except for the most important person, the groom. They never altered the pants. And also they never ordered the vest either. When the officiant tried on his suit, it was obvious that the alteration they did was not acceptable. He could not button up the jacket without the jacket bunching up at the chest. Of course, the sales person tried to convince us that this was acceptable. We had about a month to go and it was obvious they could not get the job done as I did not have a vest or a properly fitting tuxedo, so I went out of my way to get another tux from somewhere else. To top things off, I noticed that, on the day of the wedding, one of the groomsmen's shoes were different. I asked him why he had different shoes, and he said that when he went to pick up the shoes, they didn't have one for him and they asked him to pick a different one. When he asked if it was okayed by me, the sales person said that they spoke with me and said that it was okay. But they NEVER cleared it with me at any point. This was the worst place EVER!!!! Everything was WRONG. Days before the wedding, nothing was done. The suits weren't altered the amount of shirts, the amount of bow ties were incorrect. The manager of the store helped me and my fiancé find suits (to buy) for him and his groomsmen, and the manager was SO helpful. He guided us to suits that would be comfortable for a summer wedding, and that were in our price range. They were missing one of the sizes that we needed, so he found that particular suit at another store, and located a back-up, just in case the other store's inventory was incorrect. He then went out of his way to pick up the missing suit and ship all of the suits ASAP to the state where we're actually having the wedding. Overall, our experience was excellent. I'm not sure how service would have been had someone else helped us, but at this point, I'm just happy that we have some beautiful suits for the guys, at the price that we wanted. read more

I write this review to warn about this store's practices. Two weeks ago I went to this store just to take a glimpse at some of the items inside. Upon entering I was immediately hastled by the store manager and assistant who were pushy, and aggresive to say the least. After being shown numerous options, none of which I was overwhelmed with, I decided to take advantage of their "buy 1 get 2 suits free" sale. The female assistant didn't even measure when trying to get the dimensions for alterations just did clips which was a red flag. The store manager yaseer speaks in a foreign language while also adressing you which makes you uneasy of what he's saying to the other workers and again everything about this store screams just give us your money. After agreeing to the deal I spent over 200 in "alterations" and a total of $500. After I received the suits I put one on for work that immediately felt wrong. The suit ripped completely up the crotch when trying to sit down!!! I then went to the store only 10 days later and requested a refund or partial for the obvious faulty condition of the suits and was told by the manager yaseer there is no refunds whatsoever because the suits were altered. Yet the suits could be re-altered for an additional price which contradicts their whole point. Simply put, save yourself money and time and don't buy the cheap suits this store offers, it's borderline fraud to perform subpar work and offer no recourse. So upset with the service that I received upon arrival they could not find my future husband suit and then the man takes me in the back to complain about the idiots he works with his words not mine and I'm looking in the room the amount of time he took to complain he could have looked at the two racks he had their for my things that we had purchased... in addition to telling us when we purchased our young boys suits that alterations would be included they were not and they tried charging 35 additional dollars Pursuit at that rate I should have just rented them. read more

I married this year in the town of Freehold, and chose to rent my tuxedo from Quails. I had this notion that renting close to our wedding venue would ensure ease for the wedding party to return the clothing (as they stayed overnight). To my discredit, I did not perform any research for tuxedo rental/purchase within the general radius. Therefore I hastily decided to give my business to Quails Menswear at the Freehold Raceway Mall after only visiting their store. This is even despite the store appearing to be in disarray because of a move to another location (with-in the same mall). So I am not oblivious to how I contributed to my own disappointment. However, there was also a tremendous amount of bedside manner and efficiency that this store lacked. The salesman who waited on me wasn't exactly personable nor informative. I would not say that he was completely unpleasant, however it took a tremendous amount of dialogue to get something mumbled from him. That should had been my first impression that I may want to look elsewhere. The day that we paid seemed to go smoothly, but little did we know that they were in the process of a move and paperwork would be jumbled. One of my groomsmen entered the same store, and was approached by the same sales clerk who had assisted me. Now I was not here during this visit, so I really can't comment on what was said, for it's all heresay. But I do believe that my groomsmen's experience was unacceptable. Along with the poor attitude, Quails offered a level of negligence that could have potentially ruined my wedding. Initially it took a long time to locate my paperwork. When it was finally found, an argument about price occured between the salesman and my groomsmen. For a reason unbeknownst to me, it was regarding Quails not honoring the price I was quoted (which was being advertised in their window). When this was finally ammended and honored, the salesmen still handed over a receipt with the erroneous price. He then proceeded to give an attitude when my groomsmen pleaded for a correction. My groomsmen had a fear that this could likely come back to bite him, since he was merely making a down payment that day. Now I tried to remain understanding here. Perhaps amidst of a move, maybe things were a little disorganized. But unfortunately, the story doesn't end here. It was quite literally impossible to locate a correct phone number for this store. Every phone number that came up with-in my google & white pages search was incorrect. I made several phone calls to faxes as well as different companies all together. I eventually was able to track down a phone number after finding an active number stored in my recent received calls in my cellphone. Again, not a huge deal, but it did add towards the frustrating experience. But what really irked me about this store was my groomsmens following experience. I paid for the remainder of the cost for my groomsmen tuxedo, because I felt bad about the entire experience for everyone involved. When my groomsmen went to retrieve the tuxedo, come to find out the WRONG tuxedo was ordered. They provided him with a duplicate tuxedo to mine, the grooms (white on white). This was after Quails attempted to charge him again for the tuxedo, despite me paying the balance in full. Luckily, the situation was rectified, and my groomsmen was given another tuxedo in lieu of their error. Despite that new tuxedo being completely different to what I had ordered. But I stopped caring at this point. Anybody who is thinking about renting a tuxedo from this store, please take my story into consideration. I hate leaving negative reviews, but this one has to be heard. For the cost of renting a tuxedo at Quails, you are better off buying one anywhere else. As it turns out, it's actually cheaper. I would absolutely give a zero rating after the experience we had today. My wedding was this past weekend and my father had to buy another tux because this place screwed up and won't own up to it. He was measured by Lydia and was assured they would send him the size pants he needed. They called us to pick up his tux 4 weeks after it was ordered (past the return policy period) and we had to overnight it to him because he does not live in NJ. When he took it to a seamstress, he found that they gave him pants 4 sizes too small and his jacket did not fit. When we went into the store today, we asked to speak to a manager (there wasn't one there?!) and an assistant manager was called. That guy told us there was nothing he could do because it was past the return policy (even though THEY sent it 4 weeks after purchase), all they could offer was store credit. Since my father doesn't live in NJ and they did not carry his size in store, this was an inconvenient solution. The assistant manager also insulted my father by saying that jackets and pants are not sent together in the same size because he should have a 6 inch difference between jacket and pants and they are made for an athletic build. My father may not be an average size man, but he was measured and assured they had his sizes and "ordered" them. They are liars and just wanted the money out of the rest of our wedding party. If you enjoy getting lied to, ignored, and like to receive clothes that do not fit then this is the place for you. I decided to purchase suits for my wedding at Quails in December. When I arrived at Quails in Freehold I was assisted by Amir after waiting 20 minutes with no one else in he entire store. I told him that my wedding was March 10 and that I needed suits for my entire wedding party. He assured me that I had plenty of time and that he personally would call me every week to keep me updated on the suits. I did not receive a single call from Amir, EVER!!! I should have known from the way we were sized that I was making a mistake by getting suits here. First, they did not write down my waste size, length of my pants, or length of my jacket. Why is this? This is so they can charge you extra money for making alterations, you do not have a choice in the matter. Then I purchased shoes for the entire wedding party and made sure that they carried size 13 for members of the party and they assured me they did. The only problem is they made us try a completely different shoe from the one I picked because they did not carry them in stock. Now we all received shoes that did not fit right. I also asked Amir if there were any other stores closer to my town so the wedding party did not have to travel so far to get fitted. His exact response was "we do not have any locations and if we did I would not trust them". That was also a lie since they have another store in Woodbridge 15 minutes form where I live, so everyone had to travel 45 minutes instead. Quails only sends in the order when the last person is sized and pays, which is fine because that is their policy. What isn't fine is that they have no clue when your suits are coming in. The last groomsmen paid the third week in January 23, a few weeks had passed and I did not hear anything from Quails. I called to see if the suits arrived and was greeted by another associate. They told me that Amir was the one that had helped me and he would call me back to let me know. Apparently if they did not make the sale they do not want anything to do with you. As I said earlier I am still waiting on Amir's call. I tried a few more times in the next couple days and received the same response from the stores employees until Amir finally answer the phone. He told me that they had not received the suits and will call when they arrive. Week 3 and still nothing, now I am getting nervous because several groomsmen are from out of state and they still need alterations. I continued to call and got the same response, that they should be there within a week. Now it is a month since the order has been placed and 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding. I asked Amir if he could call the distributor to find out when the suits will come in. He said he would send an email and let me know tomorrow. As you may have guessed, still waiting on that call back. Thankfully my brother is a little more assertive then myself and got the regional manager involved to get us a shipping date. We received our suits a little less then 2 weeks before the wedding with still no alterations done. Some of the vests did not fit, the shoes were the wrong sizes, all of the shirts were garbage and not even used for the wedding. My nephew's suit was a different color then the adults and didn't even get the same colored vest. Even though my sister made sure to ask them that everything was the same before purchasing they pretty much called her a liar and said they never said that. When my brother was giving the wrong size shoe I called and they told me that they didn't carry size 13 in that style, even though I asked when I bought them. The funny thing is my brother in law received a size 13 from them, just another lie to cover up their incompetence. I could go on forever about this place and I do apologize for this rant. I am not one to complain and this is my first ever post doing so. I just want to make sure that no one else makes the same mistake I did by shopping at this store. I went here with the groom and 3 other groomsmen we called ahead to make sure they had the same suits in stock and ready. When we got there it went downhill fast. So first of all the groom already ordered the suit in his size and paid. When he asked if it was ready they had no record of him ordering a suit. So instead of showing us the suits we went in to order we were then given the most horrendous ugly shiny blue suit they had in the store. The gentleman who was "helping" us said its shiny look better in pictures buy this one instead. Luckily one of the groomsmen happened to be a wedding photographer and politely informed MO that this was not in fact the case. Mo then replied he did not have the suits we needed after 2 and 1/2 hours somehow he was able to find the suits in the back. It was just an unpleasant experience from the moment we went in there and he kept trying to sell us a different suit. Overall i would recommend the Quails in the Livingston mall this one i would not. read more
