These people are crooks, avoid coming here. The owner charged my husband $600.00 for a replacing a starter for a 2012 Toyota Camry then add $40.00 charges just to swipe our credit cards. It's not even an original Toyota part. On the Original invoice issued, the Parts is $320.45 and Labor $194.69. Then when my husband came back the second invoice is now Parts $208.18 and Labor $345.00. If you check on Amazon and E-bay the part is only $70.00. We do not mind paying but scamming and fooling old people is being a crook and a scammer. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews. I got a same-day appointment easily , got my new inspection sticker, and agreed that filters and brake fluid needed changing. No b.s. and not a whiff of dishonesty or padding. Price was reasonable, and there was a comfortable space to wait. I will go back. read more

DON'T COME TO HEAR, EVER! Needed inspection sticker before tags expired. I was told that if you have the check engine light on in your car, they can give you a new one for $79, even if you failed to avoid the DMV. I didn't get the sticker and wasted money. Should've gone to my actual mechanic for the check engine repair in the first place, then go to the DMV. But that's not the main reason I'm writing. The guy named Jose is cool. And, gave me legal papers to drive the car until it was fixed. But, the Indian guy has terrible customer service skills. I called him ahead before bringing my car. He was rude as heck. Complete rip off avoid at all cause. I cane here with a check engine light. They charged me like $140 to do a "evap test". They said they did ome and I just needed a new gas gap in which ontop of the $140 they charged $12 for the cap. 1 day later the check wngine light came back on. So I returned trying to figure out what happened. They said they had to do. Evap test so now I was fustrated as what did I just pay for last time. Now they said its my canister and would cause $800. I googled the work and saw it goes for cheaper and argued with them so they finally said ok they will come down slightly to about $750 but at this point I didnt want them touching my car so I left and went elsewhere in which 1 then told me this place left nt evap vacuum unplugged which caused my car to make noise. And then the work my new place is doing only came up to $500 they also told me never let them touch my car again either as they dont know what they did. The manager, Dave is the most despicable, disrespectful, lying human being I have come across. I went to Quality Auto and Tire Repair on 254 Valley St. South Orange with a diagnostic from Autozone, stating exactly what needed to be done. He asked for my inspection report, which I went into my car and gave to him. My car had failed inspection because of a communication error. The car wasn't making a sound, just a slight bucking sometimes when I stopped at the traffic light. He dismissed the diagnostic from Autozone and said that they would have to to their own diagnostic. After waiting about two hours, he came out and said that the computer ECM, wasn't working, that it would have to be replaced and that could cost around $800. I paid about $98 after taxes for the diagnostic, and DIDN'T GET A COPY OF IT, then they brought the car out and it was smoking from the muffler and making a whole lot of noise. I told them that I didn't bring the car in Iike that and they need to do something. He had an attitude and said, "We're not going to fix your car for free." He was very rude and at one point he said that I have been "BITCHING and complaining" since I got there at 8am. I was very insulted and irritated by this comment. When I asked him to return my inspection document, he said that he gave it back to me, which he did not. After I called the cops to file a report, he then said that I never gave the inspection document to him. He printed an inspection report from the dmv, which he said he could do, and gave that to me. He could have just said he couldn't find it in the first place instead of blatantly lying. And he had both my first and last name spelt incorrectly on my receipt and told me that the bank had my name spelt incorrectly. From under which rock did he crawl? When I attempted to start my car, it cut off twice, while trying to reverse. I told him I wasn't leaving with the car in that condition. He took my keys and parked the car on the street and literally dropped the keys on my chest. I managed to bring it back on the lot and parked it to the side. He threatened to call the cops to remove me, so I told him to go ahead. He called and said that I was parked in the middle of the driveway. They came and I explained what was going on again and they could see that I was parked on the side. The cop helped me call AAA. I had a 200 min wait, so I managed to drive the car slowly to another mechanic. This guy Dave is unscrupulous, nasty, and very unprofessional. He caused me a whole lot of distress, took my money, made my car worst, then told me I was BITCHING and complaining. What a piece of work! He shouldn't be allowed to treat customers like that. That's not how you speak to a BLACK woman or any woman for that matter. He should be fired. PLEASE DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS DUMP. THEY'RE IN THE BUSINESS OF MILKING MONEY OUT OF PEOPLE. THE MANAGER, DAVE, HAS ZERO INTEGRITY AND HE IS TOTALLY DISRESPECTFUL TO WOMEN. SHAME ON HIM! Update: Another mechanic fixed the car in less than 2hrs. No $800 for a new ECM needed. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!! I only give them one star because I can't give them zero. I've taken two cars to them several times over the past year because they're in close walking distance to my house. But I will never be taking another car back to them again. They have consistently under-delivered. In telling our stories to a group of neighbors, several of them have had the exact same experience with this shop. They have left with their car in worse condition than when they took it there, or have been hit with some expensive incremental repairs. Most recently, we took our car there to change the battery. One week and $930 dollars later, we got our car back in basically the same condition as when we took it in. We plan to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau. In addition to the basics of just being unprofessional -- rude, consistently cursing and arguing amongst themselves in front of customers -- I don't trust them, and I have zero confidence that they know what they're doing. read more

Do not go here!!! They are a complete scam. I got my brakes done and once I left my car was rattling and shaking, which never was an issue before. When I went back they tried to tell me that multiple new things were wrong and wanted me to pay for new struts and new rims. After causing a fuss they took apart my car and put it back together without adding any additional work. 4 hours later, refusing to pay for anything else, and letting them know that i would report them, my car was magically fixed. They were clearly taking advantage that I am a girl and would not know they were trying to screw me. Seriously think twice before ever coming to this place. This has to be the worst service center in the United States. They never answer the phone correctly loudly saying "Yeah What". When you try to make an appointment it's an hassle. I called this center yesterday at 2pm spoke to some guy and he told me 0900 is a good time to stop by. Stopped by today at 08:50 and I'm turned away by the guy at the desk saying there's no appointments here it's first come first serve. Then why even have people call you in the first place if you're just going to turn people away. I drove over an hour to get here just to be told I would have to leave my car for 4 hours just to get headlight restoration done on my car!!! Literally a 20 minute job. And I thought Pepboys in Paterson was bad this makes PepBoys a top tier service center in comparison. Never again will I ever have my car serviced at this center. read more

Not a good experience here at all. Nice front desk guys but the crew do not seem to know their stuff. Two false positives before they had to bring someone else in to diagnose a bad trans, meaning we had to go back three times. They did refund us for the second bigger false positive which I will give them credit for. Overall will not go back and will explore other mechanics in the area. read more

I was in the area and heard a funny sound in my car so stopped here. The guy at the front desk Don, I assume the manager, was friendly and had my car on the lift in no time. He explained what the problem was and then also suggested other things my car needed. It's an old car so I was not surprised it needed some work. I could only afford to fix the main repair right now and did not feel pressured at all to get the extra work done. I had a tire repaired at a different shop once and they didn't tell me I needed new brakes, and almost had an accident because of it. So I appreciate them telling me what my car needs. I am not sure why there are negative reviews about this shop, but since the bad reviews are over a year old, I can only assume they are under new management. I like this shop, they are honest and did not feel any pressure. I will definitely be back! read more

Avoid at all costs, maybe an oil change. Car is now at new mechanic now, and the damage done in the front end by Quality is significant. Quality had done the brakes and replaced the front bearings - axle threads to hub on one side horribly stripped (cross threaded) beyond repair. Retaining pins for opposite side brake calipers had been forced back in, deforming caliper and requiring replacement. Every time you go, you will get the typical "oh, and you also need all of your hoses and filters replaced" song and dance. read more
