For a synthetic oil change they are more than twice the price of Livingston Tire and today I received a fraud alert that the credit card that I used to pay for the change was used to pay for Door Dash in Brooklyn. Today was my eight and last visit, (over a 25 month period) to the Mobile 1 Lube Express in E. Hanover, NJ. I had believed I could put my trust in the professionals I dealt with there. I also regret recommending them to my daughter, as she was scared off by a poor experience as well. Last year, I brought my German car for Oil & Filter. That visit should have been enough to scare me off. The technician neglected to install the oil check-valve, located on the bottom of the car's plastic filter canister. I discovered this omission when I arrived home. I had asked for the old filter element to be returned to me in a plastic bag. When I looked inside the bag, there was the missing part, still in the old filter. This omission allowed unfiltered oil to bypass the new filter. I replaced the missing part myself but was greatly shaken by their error. My final straw for Mobile 1 Lube Express appeared on a rainy Sunday 2 days ago. (This was 5 days after their Oil & Filter service of 1/23/24 on my wife's Camry.) On that rainy day, I noticed a shiny rainbow of oil slick streaming from under her Camry. When I pulled the car forward a few feet, another slick formed immediately. That fortunate yet alarming discovery alerted me to an impending oil starvation crisis and roadside breakdown for my wife's car. Doubtless, this can become a serious or even terminal calamity. I now keep a large piece of cardboard under the car. This revealed a growing puddle of Mobile 1 (see picture). When I re-checked oil this morning, 6 days after the Oil & Filter service of 1/23/24, I read a half quart low on the dipstick, Nevertheless, when I returned to Mobile 1 Lube Express today (1/30/24) the owner denied the oil level was low. He claimed to have replaced the oil drain plug and refilled the oil. The was no apology for the inconvenience or toxic oil slick in now fouling my driveway (see pictures). Worst of all, I no longer believe what I am being told there. This experience causes me to doubt, not just their forthrightness or their claimed repair, but ultimately and most painfully, in the very reliability of my wife trusted car. read more

Had their full service oil change. Supposed to check all the fluids, belts, filters etc. $53 They verified nothing. They checked nothing. Did not ask to check anything else. Changed the oil in 5 min and handed me the bill. Had my wrong name, address & phone. Last time. read more

Pro: no appointment needed, took me right away while I waited. con: more than double the price of other places for an oil change and they try to upsell you on some premium stuff. Pro: air conditioned waiting room Con: TV in waiting room set on Fox News. That last one is even worse than the price gouging. Will not spend my money again at a place that holds me captive with Fox News. This is NJ not Florida. Another big con: they charge 4% extra if you use a credit card. You don't know this until you walk out of the waiting room - if you happen to notice the small sign by the exit. It took them like 5 minutes to complete. Now after being subjected to Fox News and being over charged, I have no idea if they actually changed the oil. NEVER AGAIN! Avoid this place. read more

This is a great spot to go - was in an out in under 10 mins. The Guys are friendly and don't push unnecessary additional stuff or up charge. Plus they aren't shouting out nonsense like they do at JiffyLube. They even offer 5% discount for military or first responder. Place has my vote ! Edit - and the Fact that they play Fox News in the waiting room is perfectly fine with me as compared with some other silly negative reviews here. read more

They use cheap filters. Not even sure they use Mobile1 oil. All the tools are straight from Harbor Freights. You are better off going to a shop that has more investment in their tools and materials. Why pay top dollar for recycled oil and made in China filters? They don't even use the correct filter. The place is a mess and you should avoid it period. Just like the negative reviews state in google. The owner is a shame he obviously is struggling. read more

I strongly recommend this Mobil One in East Hanover. I rolled right up, no appointment. My wait was zero minutes. The awesome guy explained my options and let me know what the differences were with the oil types. I have a 30 year old car so they don't stock my filter, he had to order it. Within ten minutes it arrived. I was a first time customer so he gave me a five dollar discount. I was in and out in twenty minutes. While I waited he checked the other fluids, tires, etc. In short, this shop reminded me of an old-school, honest shop which gives prompt, straightforward service. I highly recommend. read more

Easy in Easy out Comfortable waiting area, though you won't be there long. Reasonably priced. They do oil changes and filters. They'll also change out wipers and rotate your tires. Went in for an oil change on a Friday morning - no wait at all - got done in under 10 minutes. Excellent service, the girl who helped me out was friendly and had a great attitude. She was also extremely patient (I usually get my oil changed at the dealership so I didn't know some basic stuff about the car). Also got a first time customer discount coupon! read more

This place was great until what happen to me today. Ive gone to this place since it opened up. So yesterday I got my Oil Change and everything went great. I went to pay had no issues and signed for the receipt. So today I wake up to Cops at my door saying that the card was DECLINED and that I need to go there and pay it immediately. LIKE WOW. How embarrassing basically being accused of stealing because of the Service Technician NOT checking if it was declined. Which my mind is blown because I signed for it like it was approved. Apparently they did not have my number. So this is what they do to me..... They could of waited to my next visit OR absorb the cost. IT WAS ONLY 45$!! Words can not describe on how mad and embarrassed I am right now. Worst experience of my life. Not Professional at all. This was my first time at Mobil 1 Lube express. There was no wait and they directed me to the bay immediately. I actually sat in my car while they changed the oil and was done in about 15 minutes. The customer service was outstanding and the attendant was courteous, friendly and professional. I will be back...well done! read more
