Turns out my A/C unit was pulling hot air from the upstairs condo all of these years and we were paying for it.

I am writing to formally address a dispute regarding the water heater installation services…read moreprovided by Climate Experts. Below is a detailed account of the situation, including the timeline, agreements, and subsequent issues: Timeline and Agreements Initial Quote and Agreement: On 5 February 2025, Climate Experts provided a quote for installing a customer-supplied water heater. The quote explicitly stated: "The replacement water heater can be installed either in the attic space where the existing one currently is (provided it fits in the attic access), or it can be installed in the garage. Either location, pricing valid for either.", "*Installation includes all required wiring & water lines." Pictures and requested information were provided by my realtor to assist in preparing the quote. Additional detailed pictures of the house layout were available online via the property listing. I signed the quote on 7 February 2025 and paid $2,150 on 9 February 2025. Tech Visit and Refusal to Install: The technician arrived at the property and stated that the supplied water heater could not be installed in the attic due to its hybrid nature, weight concerns, and potential condensation issues. I requested that the water heater be installed in the garage, as explicitly stated in the signed quote. Climate Experts refused, claiming the situation was not as expected and that installation in the garage would cost more than the quoted and paid amount. Forced Purchase of Additional Water Heater: Due to time constraints related to the sale of the house, Climate Experts leveraged the urgency of the situation, leaving me with no choice but to purchase the recommended water heater for installation in the attic. The new water heater was installed with an invoice dated 17 February 2025 and signed 13 February 2025. Issues and Concerns Failure to Honor Signed Quote: The signed quote explicitly stated that the water heater could be installed in the garage. Climate Experts refused to honor this agreement, citing additional costs and unforeseen circumstances despite having sufficient information (pictures, listing details, etc.) to prepare the quote. Lack of Due Diligence: Climate Experts did not send a technician to inspect the property prior to providing the quote, despite my realtor offering flexibility to accommodate a visit. This oversight led to inaccurate assumptions and subsequent issues. Leverage of Time Constraints: Climate Experts leveraged the urgency of the situation, forcing me to purchase an additional water heater to meet the inspection requirements for selling the house. Financial Impact: I incurred additional costs due to Climate Experts' refusal to honor the original agreement and their lack of due diligence.

After waiting several days, we were told they couldn't find the part, had never heard of our unit brand (iAire), and to contact the manufacturer. When I called iAire, they immediately confirmed the sensor is not proprietary and that generic replacements are compatible. These are cheap and widely available online. Ranger told us they were not comfortable working on our unit and that we would need to find someone else. I'm frustrated that this was not communicated upfront, especially after we waited days in the Florida heat for answers. If the company is unwilling to service smaller brands or use generic parts, they should have told us during the initial visit instead of leaving us in limbo. When I tried to express any dissatisfaction with the situation, their phone rep repeatedly interrupted and talked over me, and I could barely get a sentence out. When I spoke with my fiancé later, he told me he had been treated the same way. I'm not happy with the poor communication, lack of service, and unwillingness to listen. They took our money and dropped us, gave us a headache, and now we will have to pay someone else to come and fix the issue. This was really poor customer service. They justified this by blaming everything on our "cheap, offbrand" unit and have made no attempt to make things right with us. They have not stood behind their own values. You can see from their responses to upset reviewers that they do not take ownership when they let their customers down and find any way to shift the responsibility for their mistakes. Shameful. We will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

I was able to get in the same day they sent Aaron who was very courteous and professional he introduced himself asked me what my issues were. I told him he did a diagnostic and he didn't leave until he found what was going on. I love that. He called his boss for any suggestions the two work together and they double check triple check what the issue could be. They did say that I was down a couple of pounds of antifreeze which was fine for me and he decided to look at my thermostat and found that there was a hole behind it and that's what was causing the air conditioning to come on and off. He use some kind of putty he fixed the issue and I timed my air-conditioning to come back on again and it was over 17 minutes, so thank you Aaron so much for making sure that my wife and I will be comfortable this year

FLORIDA AIR Heating and Cooling!…read more It's hard to find an honest, hardworking company that actually does what they promise and sticks to the quoted price--but Florida Air did exactly that. They're a smaller, family-owned business, which I really appreciated. I spoke with Wesley about a leak in my Trane air handler evaporator. Their technician, Aaron, arrived right on time and even sent an "on the way" text beforehand. Aaron was professional throughout the entire process and completed the air handler replacement efficiently. Great communication, punctual service, and quality work from start to finish. Front of house stays about 2-3 degrees warmer than the back. 3) Value: For a 1150 sq. ft house $8250 for duct work seems way to much. I needed my AC cleaned. I had come down with a respiratory infection. I looked inside my AC unit and could see black mold of some kind. I asked a Facebook group for a recommendation for cleaning my indoor unit.. Got a PM from a Jordan from "don't sweat it". He came and said my unit needed cleaning and the duct work needed to be replaced. At the time made sense. Mold would be in both. He quoted price of $8250. He told me while his crew was installing the duct work he would come and clean the AC unit. They came (about an hour late) ripped out old duct, ( every vent had junk fall out of it all over every thing) replaced the duct at ($2000 pr hour?) packed up and started to leave. I told them Jordan said he was going to clean the inside unit while they installed the duct work. They called him, then said he told them to wipe down the unit? ( they said to clean the unit it would take 3 hour and cost several hundred dollars more) One of them did that while the other one took a push broom and swept the the floors of the rooms but, didn't cleanup the stuff off the the furniture or counters. What they did sweep up they just dumped it in my yard, not 10 feet from my trash can. When they turned the AC on in my house it filled with a chemical stink that they said was from the mastic they used so, I should run my AC with all my doors and window open for a while. ( It took more like a week to get the smell out). Then to top it off they left me the permit for me to call in for the inspection. So, looking for someone to clean my AC unit and got the old bait and switch for an $8250 duct instead and no AC clean.
