I stopped here before church. I hadn't been since about 2012. Back then it was only a donut shop and was owned by an Asian family. It seems they are now owned by a Latino family and have greatly improved both their donuts and their menu. I thought I was just gonna grab some coffee. When I saw the gourmet donuts and the expanded menu, I had to call my son and his friend inside so we could load up on pre-praise goodies. These were original, next level donuts, and they also do sandwiches and nachos. The staff was great as well, friendly and helpful. My favorite donut is the apple fritter. I tend to judge a donut shop by their fritter. Some of these new places make these little tan-colored things the size of a child's fist and try to call them an apple fritter. It's so insulting to the real donuts makers in the world. Quality Donuts makes REAL donuts. I have never in my life seen a bigger apple fritter than the one I got here. It was almost as big as my head. I had to split it with my son's friend. My son ordered the nachos, which he loved. I am very impressed with the upgrade - nothing too fancy, but they offer more options not just donuts - coffee, snacks, breakfast sandwiches, normal sandwiches and a variety of donuts. Service was very friendly and quick. We got two ham and cheese croissant sandwiches (each about $9). At first you think woooow that a massive croissant, but in my opinion it was smushed and for $9 there was not much to eat. Also got some donuts that were way too sweet. Overall it is great they changed it, but considering the price for what you get - not for me. read more

Quality Donuts has reputedly been here for 50ish years, recently had an ownership change. News to me. Expected to find only donuts. Now also has breakfast/specialty sandwiches as well as design ur own. Also coffee, snacks, cold drinks, ramen, chips..no seating. 3ish parking spaces outside. Longer hours..now accepts CC. Was greeted upon entering. Grabbed a cup of Joe. Pointed out a few donuts in the showcase. was asked if I wanted a sandwich? Said no. Then I noticed menu behind the counter. Sips: dark roast Columbian coffee (L. 3) -slight problem with lid. Coffee the usual donut shop quality, maybe Farmers Bros. Blandish. Nothing exciting. Bites: chocolate old fashioned (1.90) -chocolate sweet, donut firm. Haven't bought donuts for years. Eat it one in awhile when offered one. Apple Fritter (3.50) -very sugary firm outer texture. slightly mushy innards. Sweet Apple bits filling. 1st time, probably last. Didn't see French cruellar, my usual imbibe. 4ish stars: quick courteous service. Qualtity: donut ok, coffee disappointing. Quantity: reasonable. Haven't driven in this area for decades. read more

Best apple fritter ever! It's like a cinnamon roll and apple fritter had a gorgeous delicious baby. One can last a person for days, it's a costco sized version of a donut. Now open 24 hours. Staff is friendly, and attentive. Will be back to try their new food options. read more

I have no complaints about the food or the service but the flies and the gnats were a problem for me. Flies in the lobby area gnats behind the glass where the food is. Lived in the area for many many years. Had been to quality donuts a few times but wasn't that excited about the product. I noticed some changes to the building and decided to go in. Yum. Yum! I had an apple fritter and jelly donut! Wow! What a major improvement!!! O usually frequent colonial donuts, but with these guys just a block away, no need to go any farther. Thier donut are amazing. So I had to take a detour due to some traffic stoppage on 880 and lucky me, Quality was open! I went in looking for the apple fritter and instead got an apple filled bear claw. They were out of fritters but is even better! The dough is very light and their apple filling must be homemade or of a very high quality because of the flavor of the apples. They are just tart enough and have some al denteness to them. I'm trying to watch my weight so I ate about half but oh man did I want to devour the whole thing. Please stop and support this hole in the wall business. Easy to park right in front and I would say the price is reasonable. $3 for this huge bear claw. read more

I've driven past this place for the last 3 months on my way to work. I haven't stopped in because I'm usually just about on-time to work. However I was craving donuts as made a conscious effort to leave a little early to try this place out, also I had heard that this place had gotten broken into and robbed. Not cool for mom and pop places. I got there and my go to in the donut arena is usually jelly filled donuts and french crullers though a lot of places don't make/have them. The staff are sweet and nice. You can tell the early risers had already been in and they are were restocking the donut window. It's not a fancy place, but like they say, location is everything. The jelly donuts were huge, so I opted for two raspberry filled, a regular twist and sugar donute. Last minute decided on 1/2 donut holes cuz they were enormous. Since it was my first time there and a lot of the co-workers go there, she apparently gave me some extra donut holes. The donuts were fresh and the jelly was a good amount. Will be back. read more

The shorter younger lady at the counter is rude. On 4/25/25 I went inside behind a group of Mexican men who entered first. I heard her greet them and saw her do it with a smile, their order was placed and then it was my turn. She didn't greet me and she didn't smile, instead she just said "what can I get you". I ordered 5 cinnamon twists which came up to 17.50. While she was still bagging them she asked if I could pay cash. I said sure but I didn't hear you ask those gentlemen that question. She didn't respond. I had a 20 dollar bill in my hand ready to give to her when she was finished bagging and then she says place the money on the counter. I said no and that I worked hard for my money and that she will take it from my hand when she is ready. She took the money and gave me my change and didn't say anything. She never thanked me for my business, never told me to have a great day or anything. Black people should not spend their money here. I've been coming to this shop for years but I haven't not been there all last year due to a car wreck. I believe she acted this way because she did not recognize me after not being a customer in so long plus I have a new hairdo. Either way this is not how you treat people let alone your CUSTOMERS. Well, I live in this neighborhood, and I don't find it all that scary. But if you're one of those folks scared of everything that has to do with your perception of "Oakland," then indeed you should find someplace else to go. The donuts, maple bars, apple fritters, and just about everything here are really, really good. The coffee is typical donut-shop stuff, better than Dunkin' Donuts, in my opinion, but not outstanding. The staff is really friendly, and they've always made a special point of thanking me for my purchase and making it clear that they appreciate my business. Donuts were big and freshly made, service was quick, prices were fine. Nothing fancy; the same sort of donuts you'd find anywhere, which I like. Best part: great big buttermilk bar was crispy on the outside and soft inside. Ideal. But: chocolate icing had hardly any chocolate flavor, and--yuck!--the oil the donuts were fried in was a bit rancid, giving everything a sourish off taste and odor.
