Last week after my review was posted Bijan, the owner, gave me a call. We discussed the project and he communicated that he wanted to make things right. Since Steven had originally quoted $675, I intimated I would be good paying another $75 to $100 to get the rest completed. Bijan agreed on a figure of $90 and stated that he was happy with the way my last review was worded. He expressed his eagerness to finish our job correctly. Yesterday, the crew of three showed up at the expected time. After a trailer and a half full of dirt, the slope was where it needed to be. They even raked it to make it look much better. Now, I won't get hosed by my landscaper when he installs grass and DG in that area. I would not hesitate in hiring them again. read more

Quality Haul Away just SAVED MY BACON (along with my SANITY and BANK ACCOUNT), and did so promptly + professionally. *Seriously.* I'm going ramble for a paragraph just so you can see the difference in vendor experiences.... I flew into Palm Springs area from another state to handle a huge amount of stuff my mom had stored when she recently passed away. Her vendor wasn't a traditional storage site, and the appraiser w/ the working warehouse I'd arranged CANCELLED WHILE I WAS MID-FLIGHT so I had to rent a large storage unit at the last moment so mom's stuff could be brought by mom's vendor's truck and unloaded to be gone through. I had arranged with that same vendor -- and paid -- to COME BACK after we'd gone through it to PICK UP/HAUL AWAY the leftover items - to donate and/or dump them. But WEEKS after they were supposed to have done so... I found out the stuff was still sitting there, just a few DAYS before I'd have to pay an unexpected $600+ in storage unit rental fees! I'm out of state and tapped out from mom's expenses -- PANIC TIME. I asked the lovely storage folks who their VERY BEST RECOMMENDATION would be for a hauler, based on their ample professional experience. Without a pause and with total confidence, the woman recommended Quality Haul Away. After having been screwed over by two separate vendors on this one pile of stuff, I was skittish. But my experience was OUTSTANDING. I sent an email out, and heard back by phone from Steve at Quality Haul Away quickly. I explained my time crunch, described what was in the unit and where it was, and I imagine he could hear the stress in my voice. I got a wildly reasonable quote and he said he could handle it the very next day. We followed up with each other by text, with me providing a photo of what was in the unit to be hauled away, as well as more precise access details (gate code/combo lock/final process details/payment method). It was all clear and professional but also super-nice and helpful. The next morning, a mere 15 hours later, I received a text photo of my storage unit NOW EMPTY AND CLEAN. After the drama I've been through (not even the grief part), this is epic. And given that I've moved a lot, and stored a lot, I know how rare it is to find vendors in the field that say what they mean, and mean what they say -- and when they say it.
