This hotel is old and really run down and I wouldn't stay here again. The girl at the front desk was very nice and helpful and our room was clean, except for the toilet which looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. First the women at the front desk were so rude and very unhelpful. I wanted to talk to the manager and she told me he was out of town, but didn't want to help with what had just happened. I was in my room on the second floor outside on the balcony smoking, which I didn't know there was no smoking on the balcony, I walked in my room and there was a strange guy who worked there standing in my door way. He didn't knock, just let himself in, so when I went to complain they told me that the manager would be back in town four days later. It is not worth the price they are charging, the rooms are dirty, and just runned down. The whole place is gross. read more

I was asking if they would move us. They said they were overbooked. Funny, the parking lot is empty. The hotel is in terrible condition. The hallway floors and elevator floors were filthy. There were no baseboards in the elevator foyer, and the floors were dirty so it looked like a cheap motel in a 3rd world country. The room was clean, but there were cords hanging from the TV and the workmanship of the room was laughable. Every single towel bar, mirror, light fixture, etc. was noticeably crooked to the naked eye. They don't have levels in Spokane? Just embarrassing. And the TV's aspect ratio was off, so the TV was unwatchable. I trekked down to the front counter to see if someone could fix it, and the girl working said she was the only one there. The Breakfast was poor to non-existing. They advertised a full hot breakfast. When we entered there was only one family in the breakfast area. Everything hot which was sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy and waffles were all completely empty. There was no one replacing anything. We fixed some cold cereal and one piece of toast which finished the bread. Soon a group of 40 came in and they had to bring their own food. Second morning there was no food but there was a worker that said they didn't have any food to fix that day. So two days in a row without the advertised breakfast which is included in the price of the Hotel. read more

The hotel is still going through renovation, but the staff could've been a lot more courteous. When we got to our room, there was a huge empty space where a small table & 2 comfortable chairs would go. When we called the front desk, we were informed that some rooms were finished with the remodel and some were not. We asked for one that was and were told that none were available. They asked if we wanted to cancel our stay. They eventually brought up 1 nice chair; no table, but one chair with a promise that they'd look for another. Then we noticed that we had no drinking glasses and if we could get some. 30 minutes later we asked again. 30 minutes later, they finally arrived. Next morning, my wife went down to get some coffee and a pastry. Coffee was free, 1 stale croissant was $4. When my wife asked for one that wasn't stale, the employee said: "it's gotta be fresh, I just opened the box." As the Red Lion tries to rebrand themselves as RL, they should start at customer service. read more

My boyfriend's 30th high school reunion is coming up later this summer which means we're going back to his 'home', Washington State. I originally booked flights that worked around his schedule but it meant we'd be arriving Friday night around midnight when car rentals are closed, so I arranged a room at Quality Inn & Suites by the Airport. I picked it because it looked super clean and nice and the rates were outstanding! Fredie now has that Friday off work so I moved the flights to earlier in the day, meaning we can pick up our rental car upon arrival and head straight to his tiny hometown by the Canadian border. We will get to spend the night at his mom's home, but that left me stuck with the room which we no longer needed. I understand that their policy is non-refundable since I prepaid and got the killer rate. However, this trip is already very financially exhausting, so I crossed my fingers since it's still several weeks away, sent a couple emails explaining the situation, and then finally called the hotel this morning. Justin answered the phone with a very friendly greeting. I gave him the short version of my story and let him know I'm happy to pay a cancellation fee to get part of my payment back. He was soooo helpful! Really wonderful over the phone - great customer service skills and I'm super happy with the resulting refund. I love when a company is completely understanding and helps you, even when they don't have to. This isn't our first trip together to WA and I know it won't be the last, so all future room arrangements will again be with Quality Inn, next time we have a late-night landing! read more

Appalling service. My mother booked a room a month ago and the day before arrival called to verify that late check in (around 1-2 am as they were arriving via train) would be ok. They said it would be no problem. My Mom arrives with my 4 kids at 1am and is told her room has been given away and worse, there are no rooms available. My Mom is a partially disabled senior traveling with 4 kids under 13, with no transportation, in the middle of the night. What is she supposed to do? My Mom said that was simply unacceptable and asked to speak to a manager. The clerk says he doesn't want to call the manager and wake him. Really? The clerk then says there are uncleaned rooms available if they would wait for him to clean them. Given the circumstances, they say yes and are put in a semi cleaned room that didn't even have sheets on the bed just comforters. Next morning they arrive at the breakfast around 7am and most the food is gone and what is there is horrible. My kids eat free hotel breakfasts all the time, they are not picky. But they couldn't eat it. My Mom did talk to the manager who shifted blame onto the employee who is "trouble". They refunded her nights stay. Just an FYI, my Mom booked through Expedia. After letting them know what happened, Expedia will be sending a contact person to this hotel as this behavior violated their agreements. Also, we were told that if there are booking problems in the future you can call Expedia and they will assist you with booking at another hotel and cover the price difference. I didn't know this and it could have helped out my Mom and kids so I just pass that on. read more

I have stayed in many hotels, and not one has ever come close to the supremely poor experience I had at this location. Let me begin. First, I was greeted by a front desk woman barking orders at a younger man upon my arrival. "Go check room *insert room number* to see if it's turned," or "Why are you taking the elevator? Go up the stairs!" The guy did seem kind of clueless and slightly mopey. There's another guy checking in, and the front desk woman turns to me and asks, "Are you with him?" I said no, and I was just checking in for my reservation. A good 5 - 8 seconds of awkward silence ensues, ending with her snickering something along the lines of, "Heh, okay sir I don't know if I'll be able to get you in tonight." Apparently they were overbooked by seven rooms and their computer system was down so they didn't know which rooms were vacant or clean. She asks if I can sit down while she tries to call around to other hotels in the area to take me in. After half an hour she calls out, "Sir, I'm gonna have to issue you a refund!" I was flabbergasted as I had made the reservation more than a month in advance. I voiced this concern, but luckily within a minute or two, her assistant came back from a successful room search. I hiked up a few flights of stairs - my room was on the top floor - and entered my room. I'll get straight to the point: it was disgusting. There were dead flies and a little spider crawling around on one of the beds. There were stains on the sheets and debris behind the nightstand. I checked the other bed thoroughly and it seemed to be clean enough. I slept in my clothes with my hood on however, and I opted out from using the shower as I didn't want to risk getting some sort of fungus on my feet. I didn't sleep well at all because the walls were absolutely paper thin and there was an extremely loud group next door that would burst into laughter randomly (not the hotel's fault, however). The only upside was the free breakfast. Typical continental fare with biscuits and gravy, eggs, and sausage. read more

OMG! This wierd hotel was built in two stages, they told me when checking in: The top 3 floors were added late to a hotel with no elevator, so the elevator is at the far side of the building! You enter there into what resembles a loading dock area. On the second floor, the destroyed door is left sitting near the doorway (see pictures). The lower 3 floor hallways have ceilings so low that I could touch them easily. Looking out the window near the elevator, you can see the pool filled in with dirt. Our room was pretty much as expected: cleaned up some but missing the updates that Quality Inn supposedly has made: Few outlets, no USB connects, tiny bathroom with no place to put anything you brought, etc. The balcony had cigarette butts at the edge under the "fence". One ice machine for all. The bed itself was passibly OK. Breakfast is served on the 3rd floor converted area, and was about typical of the chain. As mentioned by others, some strange characters are lurking around the grounds. It's in a fairly desolate area, nowhere close to the airport, with virtually no restaurants around. read more

This is a run-down, has been hotel that tries, unsuccessfully to ride on the Red Lion name. The price - decent but it's also Spokane, so LA prices regardless aren't warranted. The walls are painted over so much that 1/4 inch paint cracking and falling off, old carpet, smell. Walls dirty. Wifi only allows limited access so you "have to wait until a user logs off - "reached it's limit." Continental breakfast was meh - gravy COLD, coffee gone, trash overfilled, waffle maker wouldn't heat. Unremarkable for the price and brand but we lived. read more

3-stars...that's an accurate review. They have started a renovation but they aren't finished with it...I hope. My bed, carpet, bathroom, TV, and lamps were new. The tables and desks were not :-( Tge dresser had holes drilled in the top from where an apparent TV must have sat some time ago. The hotel hallways have new carpet and lighting fixtures but some of it just felt off to me. And it smelled old. And the same with the rooms, it smelled like an old hotel. New furniture and old bones doesn't make for a renovated hotel. Another reviewer mentioned missing glasses, me too. But for the price, it was better than motel 6 that's for sure. Will I come back? We stayed here for a week. Monday-monday. The breakfast was good but make sure you get there early enough otherwise most things are wiped out. We had turn down service 3 of the days we stayed, one of the days house keeping must have gotten distracted because they managed to change the sheets and make one of the beds but they forgot the other one all together. There was a nasty oil substance splattered all over the back of the bathroom door and I tried to call down to the front desk to report it but our room phone had no power cord. Also, whoever previously stayed in our room managed to leave a pair of sandals and shoes behind and this was missed by house keeping. The beds were comfy, the location was good in relation to the relatives we were visiting. It wasn't the worst hotel but a few things could definitely be improved to make it great. read more

We stayed here to catch a flight out. The cost was good and they had a shuttle to airport every 30 minutes. The breakfast was not stocked when we got there a hour after it had started being served. No scrabble eggs, no sausage or milk. A young man, David, did start filling it up about 25 minutes later. The breakfast was served on the 3rd floor which I found strange. The room was clean, towels where clean. The bed was good as well. It was an older hotel with some things that needed repaired. I have to say that David, the night manager, was super accommodating. They really need to have 2 people in the morning. David was running around doing his very best. He had to fix the breakfast, man the lobby and drive us to airport. He gets 10 out of five stars. read more

Stayed at hotel due to having a medical procedure done and needed to sleep for a few hours before driving home the next day. To start off I had reservation, no problem. During check in the front desk asked what floor, I prefer 1st floor, she told me well only room available some college kids staying and has a distinctive smell in area, I chose different room. 1st issue TV didn't work, ok it got fixed. 2nd issue, pulled back sheets to lay down, piles of sheet fuzz between sheets??? Called down they came up with top sheet only, I asked for full sheet change. 1 hour and 1/2 later they came back with sheet change, very rude service at this point. After some rest and Dinner, I took shower and when I shut off cold water it wouldn't stop running, again phoned front desk. Soon very frustrated maintenance man arrived, reviewed situation and began to tell me how I broke it. OK getting late now, finally at 930pm the water was stopped. The next morning as I checked out I asked for a reduction in room price but was told no because I was rude to the staff???? BEWARE, DO NOT STAY, FIND OTHER ARRANGEMENTS. read more

Don't be fooled by the photos!! Absolutely disgusting room - everything looked like it has been wiped with a dry towel, but never cleaned. Luckily the sheets and bedding were really clean and the shower worked, which was all that I needed on my quick business trip, but otherwise the place was terrible. Stayed here because it was supposedly a 3-star hotel, but I didn't feel it was any different than a 2-star where I usually stay -- I'm pretty easy to please. I have some minor complaints -- only one trash can and one mirror in the room (and both were in the bathroom). Not very convenient if someone is using the bathroom. Also, there was no coffee pot, coffee or any cups in the room. Did have an ice bucket, but no cups??? Chairs in the breakfast room were stained and disgusting looking. read more

Be sure that you ask for a room with a microwave and a refrigerator. These items are not in every room. You have to request a room that has them. Also, on one of their busiest weekends of the year, the owners only provided one desk clerk to do all the check-ins, check-outs, and help people who needed to use a microwave or get hot water from the lunchroom. It was not the clerk's fault that people had to wait for help because he was too busy trying to do everything that three or four people should have been doing. The owners failed miserably to provide their customers with good service. I'd like to make a suggestion that (if they read this review), they will think about putting a microwave, a hot water dispenser and other amenities in their foyer area (maybe near the ice dispensing machine) so that people like us (who did not know we were not getting a room with a refrigerator and microwave) would not have to bother the clerk to open the lunchroom (which was upstairs and away from his desk) and make other customers wait who needed to check in or check out. It would have been so easy to provide something like that. The clerk was very stressed out, and no employee deserves to be treated like that. read more

I booked this hotel for 4 of my employees and it was a headache! The "manager" did not know how to change a reservation to add a night; granted it was booked through booking.com but if you sign up to be apart of those resources then you should at least know what their policies are. The second night of their stay, the hotel had NO HOT WATER! How is that? I've never heard of a hotel not having hot water. And then, they said they would "discount" us 10%! WHAT? Had the misfortune of staying at the Quality Inn Airport in Spokane for 3 nights July 21 - 23 2019. The room was run down and in need of renovation. The doorknob to the balcony was falling off and the space between the sink and wall had a pile of old shampoo bottles in it that housekeeping seems to keep missing. There was also a mysterious brown stain on the tub surround over the shower head. On our last night there a huge thunderstorm blew through, knocking out the power to the hotel at 9 pm. There was no light in the rooms and no air conditioning either. The temperature that day was in the high 90's. I came down to talk to management and was told they had no idea when it would be back on. With no power to run my CPAP machine and the room temp what it was, it didn't make for a comfortable or "Quality" sleep. The next morning during check out (the power was restored around 6:30 am) I asked the front desk for a refund for the last night of our stay and was told it was not within her power and I would have to speak to the manager Richard who conveniently wasn't in. I took his business card and left. For 3 days I left messages for the manager which were not returned. When I finally did speak to him I was told the storm was out of their control and there would be no refund. I understand it was out of their control but at some point they should have had some concern for their guests sitting in the dark. At no point did they approach or contact us offering flashlights or explanations. The only compensation we received was 5000 points for their rewards program which isn't even enough for a one night stay. read more

Book elsewhere! This is a horrible hotel! I've been very happy with Red Lion but wow, this one is bad. The hotel is very run down, the elevator hasn't been inspected recently, it makes noises and overall doesn't seem safe at all. No pool, a lot of rooms aren't even being used anymore. There is a door to the roof access that isn't locked and the door to the roof is actually open. The room we are in does seem clean, doesn't smell. The shower however is clogged. The tv has been hit with something, there is a spot on the screen. Really stay elsewhere. Red Lion, what are you thinking? There are no fire alarms in the room. read more

My husband and I were almost back from vacation and getting close to our home in Eagle Ridge and our newly potty trained 2 year old son tells us he has to go potty so bad and was crying. I-90 was stopped all the way up the hill past Garden Springs, so we took that exit so he wouldn't have an accident in the car. We arrived at the first business we saw-- the "Quality" Inn. The ridiculously unprofessional front desk staff had NO sympathy for him and said he absolutely could NOT use the bathroom because we weren't staying there. I told them I would let him pee in their landscaping then because traffic in the area was completely gridlocked and there was no where else we could go. They snapped "FINE" so I let him pee in their river rock. Then 2 of the 3 of the front desk staff came out and sat on the bench right out front and lit up cigarettes so we had to walk back through their stench to get to our car. Also, just looking at the place, it is an absolute DUMP. Quality Inn actually used to live up to its name. Not this place-- what a joke! read more

Don't even think about it. This hotel was not at all what we had expected. Being a Red Lion we thought it would be a trusted name. Considering other reviews said it was under renovation I was greatly surprised. Nothing looks renovated. The walls were very dirty, the halls dark and we hadn't even gotten to our room yet. With a sinking feeling. We checked the sheets before settling in. There was different colored hair between the sheets, a long black streak along the bedding, some sort one of stain and remnants of lipstick. We turned right around and got a refund. Run away! I booked online thinking since it was a red lion it may be ok...wrong. The staff is in trained they tried to give me someone else's credit card back and almost forgot to give my license back. We had 3 rooms reserved and some of my party checked in before me when it came my time to check in they had given my room away. If it wasn't already midnight by the time I came to check in I would have gone somewhere else. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here if you have to keep driving to Spokane valley to find a better place. read more
