The whole hotel looked dated but clean. The TV was set up with Direct TV. That meant no network TV. We missed out on our weekly show. After driving 10 hours it was sad. Barely any options for gf and df for breakfast. Scrambled eggs were cold and flavorless. Oatmeal in a pouch only that you prepare yourself. Bananas were good. There was NO other option. I arrived very late and they were the most affordable of the name-brand hotels in town. I checked in around 2:30AM, the front desk was friendly and even let me park my motorcycle out of the rain. I was double-charged on accident but 15 minutes after I called to notify the hotel, they refunded the second night and apologized for the issue. I stayed here on business and my great experience started with the person who took my reservation over the phone. He was friendly and very helpful. When I checked in, again I was treated to a friendly employee. The facility is clean and well kept and right next to I-80. My room was comfortable too. The best part was the complimentary breakfast. Homemade sausage, egg and cheese casserole! Plus waffles, biscuits and gravy, fruit, juice and more. This may only be a 2 star hotel but they give 5 star service and accommodations. read more

This a breath of fresh air. We found the Yelp rating and stopped. It was late about 9 and lucky that we were able to bunker down here. The host who checked us in was fantastic. She put up with our jokes and joked back and happy to help out. Best customer service with a hotel that I have ever had. There was a music event going on in town and one band was in the hotel. They were going to be playing and she let us know that pool was open and the band was going to play. The room was very clean and quiet. Internet free and a free breakfast to boot. The A/C worked like a master and the room was perfectly cool. The coffee was fresh. There was big food dishes that consisted of fast eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles you make yourself. Corned beef hash, fruit, juice, eggs, toast , big things of cereal, yogurt. A fresh full breakfast that was well watched and kept. I would highly recommend stopping here. read more

Traveling with our dogs is still a challenge in this day and age when animals are allowed more often than they once were. Typically, we either pay high fees for a room that is not given the same clean treatment as a non-pet room or are provided with a terrible space. At least here the room was clean and although it still had that "not as clean" pet smell it was not nearly as noticeable as many other experiences we have had. Still, for $15 per pet per day resources can be made to bring this room up to a level of non-pet rooms. The beds were clean and very comfortable and it appeared that the ac was clean, which means a lot in terms of air quality...something that staff too often ignores or pushes to the side when co soldering the comfort and safety of guests. The remodel was nice overall but the hallways were still very dank and stuffy. The breakfast that the desk clerk touted as (wait for it) an "Amazing hit breakfast" was average at best with very gooey corned beef hash, egg and sausage casserole, biscuits and gravy, and waffles, among a variety of cold cereals, pastry and bread, fruit and beverages. The breakfast nook was comfortable and clean. It is still bothersome that the worst kind of styrofoam plates and plastic cups are used regularly in these areas. Why the two stars? Our room was at the end of a hallway near an egress that has a key card swipe that is presumably to open a secured and locked door. Not only was the lock disabled throughout the night, the door had no latch at all. This means that anyone can gain entry at any time night or day. This is a problem with comfort and safety. About $120 a night after he pet fees were assessed. Not worth the money even with the remodeling. The staff is overselling the breakfast and the lack of working safety door truly affects the review. Add to this that another guest has to change rooms three times because the first two rooms he was given were not cleaned and beds were not made. We showed up at 9 pm and lucky they had a room open for us. Room was in the neighborhood of $125 after tax and fees. It was clean, quite, and served breakfast in the morning that consisted of crock pots filled with quick eggs, corned beef hash, biskets​ and gravy. Waffles, fruit, hard eggs, toast ect. Not sure why this place has such high reviews. I wasn't expecting much as we were just passing through and needed a quick place to stay. Overall, the room was extremely musty and had a terrible smell, the "secured" door to gain access to get inside was not working, toilet ran all night and overall the room was not cleaned well. We could see marks on the bathroom counter from whatever was left from the previous person who stayed there. The staff was friendly though. The place needs some serious updates. read more

I only stayed one night (with my dog) and I wish I could have stayed more! The staff is so nice, they really care about your stay and say hi whenever you walk by. They loved my dog and spent a lot of time petting her which is always nice. Breakfast was surprisingly great for the price of the hotel. They had hot and cold food, including a waffle maker, sausage, potatoes, fresh fruit, and 4 crock pots with eggs, biscuits, gravy, etc. All very tasty. The room itself was perfect. It was super clean and modern. The bathroom had a nice shower. I had a room w/ two double beds and it was definitely spacious! Overall I'm very satisfied. Great find in the area. read more

Worst hotel I have stayed at. Not only from getting ripped off about the price to just nasty indoor pool. The price on the website stated the price was $79.99 start off price. Then if you had discounts it went cheaper from the $79.99. The people at the hotel started off the price at $99.99 and then when I ask about the online price she said that they could charge whatever they wanted to charge. Well I only get my daughter every other weekend and when I called up the person told me that they have a indoor pool and my daughter loves swimming. Well we get to the pool and there is no light switch to turn on the light to the pool room. Then you could see like the room was even finished painting as there was two tones of paint on the walls. And it was not even leveled out. Then the next morning we went out to the pool again and I could see why they don't have lights in the room. It was plain nasty. The bottom of the pool is really nasty with stains all over the place in the bottom of the pool, I remove mold and asbestos for a living and there was mold growing on some of the walls. I feel like I need to have my daughter tested for any disease cause she swam in the pool at night. I will never stay there again and just don't want to take a chance. A bunch of double talk from the person working the desk when I called today and then not caring to make it right. I could of stayed at the motel 6 for $50 less if I had known this hotel was so nasty. read more

This place has just been redone the rooms are up to date with good beds and flat screen TV and hi-def even. The breakfast is very good and they will cook you bacon or sausage and eggs on the spot. The couple that runs the Place are very nice as well as the rest of the staff. The Internet is free ans fast. read more

My little dog and I stayed here one night while driving across the States. It was the best of all the roadside motels we visited on this trip. Our room was very clean and quiet with no pet smell at all--even Goldie couldn't sniff anything out! (If you're worried about the pet friendly aspect of this motel, I didn't see a single other dog. Most of the guests seemed to be business travelers. Also, there are pet free rooms on the upper floors.) By the time we got to Iowa, Goldie was getting a little stressed out, so I skipped the motel breakfast and found a drive through so I wouldn't have to leave her alone in the room. Having read the reviews of the breakfast, though, I'm sorry I missed it. Finally, at least when I was there, Google maps took me to the wrong side of the highway, but I phoned the hotel and found my way without a problem. read more

Great place for dogs, however you have to call ahead and let them know as there is no online option. We didn't, and almost didn't get a room. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was nice, and you couldn't tell it was a tool for dogs. However there was a odd smell, that wasn't terrible or overwhelming. We thought it smelled a little mildewy but it could have been the cleaner to clear the dog smell. The sheets feel weird due to the fabric. The breakfast was better than many other hotels, but nothing special. Also the parking lot is odd; they are renting out it to some construction crew, which takes up 2/3 of the lot.
