This old beat-up place was a step above the only other hotel in town (which is an absolute fleabag). If you are planning a visit to the Goldendale Observatory, you're better off driving back to The Dalles for the night. You can see the moth-eaten drapes if you zoom in on the photo. Very happy with my one night at QI, Goldendale. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was so-so (very little protein available) although I do wish they made stronger coffee! Every year for over seven years, my husband and I have stayed at this hotel for two days. The reason is that we attend a car event promoted by Audi. It's the only option we have since there is basically nothing around this small city, and I believe this is the only hotel available in the area. This hotel is like any other Quality Inn. There's basically a bed, which is very comfortable, a TV with basic channels, and a small, tiny microwave. Everything was very clean, as usual. By the way, pillows are very comfortable as well. The price is very good as well, and I bet if it were in another city, it would be way more expensive. By the way, there is a pool in front of the parking lot. When you book a room, breakfast is included. The breakfast is the same as in every other hotel in the US, with the usual fake eggs, gravy, and bread. I definitely recommend this hotel if you're in the area and need a place to stay. read more

Only chain hotel in Goldendale and I think only one of 2 hotels in town. Older outdated hotel. Some items in room were stained and worn but bed was comfy. Lack of electrical outlets and bedside charging due to being older property. Friendly helpful staff at check in. Small clean outdoor pool with seating and pool toys available. Mini fridge and microwave in room. Didn't partake in breakfast. Mexican restaurant and McDonald's within walking distance. read more

We had booked our room months in advance. When we arrived, our room was no longer available and we were put into a different room thankfully it was a non-smoking room. The other family member that traveled with us. Their room was also not available, but they were put into a smoking room. The room smelled like an ashtray. I'm not sure how they were able to stay in that room, I could not be in there more than a few minutes. The rooms were clean the furniture outdated. The TV in the second room only got two channels and one staff was notified requesting them to come look at it and fix it. They did not show up Our TV worked and had 27 channels whereas my family's room had two. Unfortunately, in this town, there are only two hotel hotels. We had stayed at the other before and decided to try this one because it was a national chain. I had wished I had booked the other hotel. For future stays, I will be further away and stay in the Dalles. It reminded me why I stopped using quality in a long time ago. read more

Hotel is older and a bit worn but we had a clean, spacious room. Bed was comfortable - extra points for great shower water pressure and over-sized bath towels. Staff was very friendly (even offering cold bottled water and microwave popcorn at check in). Breakfast had waffles, biscuits with gravy and scrambled eggs along with usual baked goods, fruit and yogurt and was more than enough to get you on your way in the morning. Very accommodating. They gave us a room next to the end of one of the buildings where a wind storm had torn off siding the night before. It was clapping and banging terribly outside and inside. They upgraded our room and gave us a king suite at no additional charge. We would stay here again. Ok it's not a hotel, but I'll be back because they have all the required comforts and it's clean and well maintained. 10 miles north of the Columbia River/Oregon Border and near Maryhill Museum and Winery. They have an outdoor swimming pool and it's next to McDonald's , Ayutla's Family Mexican, & Chevron gas. The Audi Club NW, got a group rate, used this as base for a track day at ORP - Oregon Raceway Park which is south of the Oregon border and a tour of Maryhill. Standard motel room with 2 Queen Beds, microwave, refrigerator, 2 sinks (1 in bathroom & 1 outside of bathroom), air-conditioning, Cable TV (with ESPN & HBO - sorry didn't look for porn), & view Mt. Adams. FREE WI-FI & newspaper. Breakfast is included and they have biscuits & gravy, Belgian waffles made to order & standard continental breakfast with coffee, tea, juice, & milk. read more

The counter person told me the wrong room number. Then her 7s look like 1s. I got to meet the couple in the room i was originally told i was in. The room is run down. Area around multiple rooms smell heavily like pot (more the states bullshit). They are obviously pet friendly rooms, but I wasn't informed. Old rundown microwave and tiny fridge stacked high above the little tv. And worst of all the walls are very thin. I can hear people on either side of me and below me having conversations. Very dated. Outlets are few and far between. Seems relatively clean for its age though. read more

At first glance, the hotel rooms might seem like they are decent, but the problem is that this hotel definitively has a fruit fly problem. I have killed more than two dozen fruit flies in my room within the first 3 hours of being in the room. I already barricaded the the bottom of the door with a towel to seal it shut but fruit flies keep appearing out of nowhere. I will never stay at this establishment again. This is how it is in mid November, I can't imagine trying to stay here during the spring or summer. read more

I reserved a room online for a queen. Wife wanted to have a weekend get away for her birthday. We originally planned for an Oregon get away but with covid they had restrictions. Decided to book this for $90/night booked for 2 nights. We arrived little later in the evening and check in was okay. Lady at front desk seemed annoyed but don't we all at times. Got to room and it was a lot smaller than I anticipated, and heater was on high which made the room super hot. The bed was hard as a rock, couldn't sleep woke up many times with back pain, and it definitely wasn't a queen bed, was a full at best First morning we woke up to find hair in shower, so that hasn't been cleaned, and they have the rates listed on the back of their door in a plastic sheeting, well found dead cockroaches inside there. For a little town like Goldendale, this motel was great. We stayed here for a volleyball tournament. The rooms were larger and very roomy. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I've had and I don't say this a lot about other hotels. Very clean as well. I'd definitely stay here again if I needed to. read more

You can read my "original review" below - but scratch the "I would probably stay here again..." Just checked my credit card statement and apparently boy-wonder at the front desk is a jerk AND unable to use the billing software too. Our entire amount of our multi-day stay was charged, charged again - and yes, charged again. I won't be staying here again - and would strongly suggest that you don't either... unless you like jerks and have some spare money that you won't miss. ----- Not a bad place, but there were a few things that made our stay less then great. The bed was more tired than me - clearly an old or less-quality mattress than most other hotels. The carpet, towels, bathroom and the room in-general was clean - but they do need to hire an exterminator as we had a couple of strange looking insects crawling around. The fridge and microwave were nice to have. The biggest frustration was our door keys and the front desk service - or lack of. Checking-in and throughout our stay, the front desk fellow seemed to have a chip on his shoulder - less then friendly and was especially short when we had to come back again - and again. Unfortunately, we had to visit the front desk several times, since our room keys worked once and then had to be replaced... every day! And I didn't appreciate the interrogation when I asked for more towels - especially since I did resort to using one of the thin hand towel after my shower on day one. We decided to cut our 6 1/2 hour drive from Black Diamond Washington to Bend Oregon in half by stopping in Goldendale overnight. Next time we'll just get up really early and drive straight through like we usually do. The bed is awful, the pillows are terrible and the room has a musty smell to it like maybe you're sleeping in a 40-year-old tent trailer. The bath towels are just barely bigger than the hand towels we have at home. You can see daylight around the door as the weatherstripping has been worn down. With a cost of $130 Per night, my expectations were a little bit higher. The condo that we're going to be staying in in Bend Oregon cost just a little bit more than that, and considering that's a whole condo versus just one room... Will you get the point. read more

They are butchering the word Quality. The room had crumbs on all the flat surfaces when I checked in. I wiped down and settled in and almost fell asleep before the construction workers came back from the bars to slam doors and bang around. Then those same construction workers woke at 5 and made more noise. I went to the lobby to grab a cup of coffee.. The coffee in front was empty, the one I had to reach for was gross. Like watered down Folgers. The food looked uninviting. I would have complained, but the desk person was outside on her smartphone smoking cigarettes with the construction guys right at the door. Yes the smoke blew in, yes she smelled like ass when she walked by. Quality, I think not.. I gave two stars because at least I didn't pay 140 for this mistake.. read more

Not our typical style of lodging, but you get what you get when you end up in Goldendale (and all of the wineries with lodging are booked due to an Earth, Wind, and Fire concert). The Puget Sound Mini Cooper Motoring Club was given a discount as some of our group stayed here (easy access to our meet-up on Maryhill Loop Road about 10 miles south near the Columbia River and Stonehenge monument), but it was still quite expensive for what it was ($125 for a motel room)... when there few other options, I guess they can charge what they want. It was clean, fairly comfortable, and offered some decent continental breakfast items.... but I've still had much better so can't give it more than 2 stars. read more

Excellent place for a quiet nights rest in the middle of nowhere! The rooms are very clean and have many new updates, such as the bathtub and plumbing fixtures (all new). The rooms are the quietest rooms I've stayed in, no problem sleeping until noon. Comfortable air conditioning, flat screen TV, and super comfortable beds! The front desk is very accommodating. I needed to leave a day early, but expected I would have to pay because I made a 2 day reservation. No problem though, they only charged me for the one day. There's a McDonald's right next door, and a gas station mini mart. Highly recommend this place. read more
