We found this to be a very comfortable and clean hotel. I was very surprised at the negative reviews and can only imagine they were made before renovations were done. We had two different rooms here, a king bed and then we switched to two Queens. All beds were very, very comfortable. We slept very well. The rooms were large, with a sofa or plush easy chair. Bathroom and shower were fine. Plenty of counter space on sinks. The front desk guy was friendly in a reserved way, and helpful when we needed to change rooms. Breakfast was kind of slim, but adequate. The pool was empty. I would stay here again for sure. read more

We stayed at this location for one night, and it was terrible. There are signed everywhere saying no smoking, and sadly it's not enforced. The hallway smelled like weed. The floor in the room was dirty and had visible dirty everywhere. The bathroom fan didn't remove any of the humidity while the shower was running and visible mold was on the walls showing that this has been a problem for some time! As for the parking, my husband has a handicap placard to use for accessible parking spots. When my husband talked to the front desk about vehicles being in those spots without having the handicap placards or plates, they told my husband that we could park in the front of the hotel... nowhere near that entrance that we had to use to get to our room.... We also requested a room with an accessible shower in order to make showering easy. We were assure that one would be provided. The room we were given didn't have an accessible shower. Last and definitely not least, the hotel listed a free breakfast showing eggs, waffles, cereals, toast or bagels, muffins, and more.... The only options that were actually available were waffles, fruit loops, toast, and strawberry yogurt. Will never book with this chain again. read more

Visiting Mobile AL for a Midwiner Convention. First, I booked with reservations fir the Hampton Inn, but upon arrival, it was a Quality Inn. No one was available at front desk. Eventually, someone opened the door, and I asked if this was the Hampton Inn. It wasn't. But the address was the same. Poor service, breakfast was slim to mone. So.I door dashed. I needed some condiments, and the owner had an attitude. Did not want to give me butter or jelly from the null and boid free breakfast. He stayed that breakfast was over, and he did not have to give me anything. I told him I could pay for it, but why should I, since I am lodging her and paid in full. The worst hotel I've ever seen. The place is nasty and smells like mold. The hospitality well there is none. These people are rude and down right nasty. The breakfast was only 2 cold cerals and juice with one waffle maker. Fruit was old and the bread was stale. They turned the light off while we were still eating. They come at 9am sharp and snatch up everything while people were still getting food. Don't book a room there unless you want to be treated horrible. I travel for work, all over the country... chose this place to keep profit up on the job that I was working on....what a mistake! I stayed for 12 days... I asked for housekeeping to come to my room 5 times. Never once did housekeeping come to my room to freshen it up. I had to to go the desk and ask for towels and sheets. Unbelievably dirty...shower curtain was filled with mold. Bed spread was dirty/dark stained upon entry (immediately threw that in the hallway...thinking housekeeoinwould see it and replace, NOPE) Towels that were in the room were stained/dirty... threw those in the hallway. The faucet in the room wasn't attached, so everytime you turned it on, the whole fixture moved and water leaked underneath the sink. I could go on and on about how bad this place was. The pictures the hotel posted don't even match the reality of this place. Walked in and wasn't even greeted by the young lady taking care of the toddler. It was a "yes"....... Wow, so much for being welcome. Then I asked for a copy of my receipt and was told she couldn't because none of the printers worked. That should have been the biggest red flag. Went to grab my stuff from my truck and went to the 3rd floor. As I walked out of the elevator, I was met with garbage all by the Ice and Coke machines. Guess the owner and management are either ok with this or just don't go up there. Walked into my room and the 1st thing I notice was the Couch had cushions that didn't even match, then the TV was missing, the bathroom door had seen better days, there were no shower towels in the bathroom. Then what took the cake was the stains on the bed. Now in a Covid-19 world, I'm starting to wonder if they even clean or disinfect the rooms..... Do not stay here. This place is like the twilight zone. When we arrived at the hotel they had no record of our reservation even though we presented them with our online confirmation. We were told to call the 1-800 number for help. The desk could not provide the number and told us to look it up in our phone. The representative from choice hotels confirmed we had a reservation, but there was nothing she could do from her end to help. The lady at the desk begrudgingly gave us a room after making a few sarcastic remarks and said she'd sort it out later. The room was filthy. There were no working lights in the bathroom. Visible dirt and mold all over the shower. A used soap bar from another guest left behind. The microwave had crumbs in it. There was a white sticky residue in the refrigerator. We went for dinner and came back and were greeted with a sarcastic remark from the front desk about still not being able to find our reservation. The front desk attendant then repeatedly called our room between midnight and 1 am until we finally answered to tell us our reservation was finally found. Totally unacceptable. A mess. Upon walking in, the floors throughout the halls and in the elevator were dirty-- trash and dirt. The first room we were given was already occupied so obviously we went to get into a different room. The second room we attempted to reserve had the TV going already, someone had clearly been sitting on the beds, there was a drink on the counter, no towels, toilet paper was almost completely out-- someone had definitely been in there. The THIRD room they tried getting us into was also occupied. Ended up leaving completely. We did NOT feel safe nor did it feel clean whatsoever. I do not recommend booking here. read more

As I walked into the lobby, it smelled strongly of marijuana. When I approached the desk, the staff member was rude, she responded with "what" when she couldn't understand/hear me. There was a 3-4 year old child behind the desk being babysat. As she began to check in me in, she wanted to show me the room options for the better room. She was selling snacks while checking me in which prolonged my checkin process which should have been relatively quick. After a long drive from TX to AL, we just wanted to rest. More kids were at the desk and appeared to know the woman working there. I then asked to have my reservation cancelled. I left promptly, not realizing my drivers license was still in the copier. Dirty toilet, toilet paper roll not replaced and half used. Toilet stopped up before we ever used it. A dirt "magic eraser" left on the dresser/night stand. Holes in the walls, the ceiling has leak stains and peeling. It's a total dump. The TV is horrible. People may say "for the price.....". Nope. I wouldn't pay $1 to stay again. Repulsive. Decent place to crash for a short term stay but more on the run down side of its life. This place could really use some renovation inside and out and is certainly showing her age. This place is more of a $30 a night kind of place so I don't know how they get away with charging the higher rates that they do. The coffee at breakfast was some of the worst most watered down excuses for coffee I have ever experienced so make sure to taste it before running out with a cup and having your hopes dashed. I have certainly stayed in worse places but their price reflected their state accordingly while this place is not up to anywhere near the standard for what they are charging. read more

I stayed at the Quality Inn in Phoenix and had no trouble getting a room with my ESA, Simple! However, at this location animals are "not allowed"!!!! - who are these people? It's 2019, and many folks have ESA. These people harassed me and discriminated against me. They violated the American Disabilities Act and I discourage anyone that has a service dog or ESA from trying to get a room here!! read more

this is a review for customer service because good customer service makes a world of difference. i was very pleased with matt (manager) at the front desk, he resolved my (booking) issue immediately, i was able to rest that night knowing everythin was taken care of. we do have to consider when leaving reviews that some of these motels/hotels are not "luxury", they are basic sleeping accomodations, so do choose your words carefully, if you want to provide recommendations, do so in person at the front desk and i am sure they will as more money+resources become available, on the other hand, public negative feedback will only hurt the business even more, happy holidays to all! read more

Walked into the lobby and the hotel stunk. Literally. But I booked it months ago as part of a trip from Texas to Florida. We've stayed at other Choice Hotels and have had mostly positive experiences. Normally when we stay in the Mobile area we stay at the Comfort Inn on I-10 (an excellent hotel) but since we have 3 extra people with us we did a cheaper hotel and got two rooms. Let me note the good. The price was good. The room has a microwave (albeit it looks like its a 1987 model) a sink, refrigerator, table w/2 chairs, sleeper-sofa. So the room itself was ok. However the lobby in the hotel stunk. We had 2nd floor rooms and it smelled almost as bad as the lobby but a different smell. I would compare it to a open package of cheap hot dogs. The sink in our room was clogged with stale water and a dead bug floating in it. My sister had nasty water in her toilet when we checked in so she flushed it. It overflowed and flooded her bathroom. I asked the lady working the front office if they had a maintenance man, they didn't. But they did move us to the third floor which smelled better. The toilets still didn't flush well but didn't overflow and they may as well cancel the WiFi b/c its worthless. read more

Our visit consisted of a 3 night stay, Friday night through Monday morning. We ended up booking here since it is a pet friendly hotel. We have a 75 pound dog and had no issues getting her in here, which was nice. Let me start by saying that the staff was over all, amazing! From the front desk attendants to the room maids, they were all very friendly and helpful. Carole, the lead housekeeper is so sweet and made us feel right at home. Now, the rooms. The first room we were in had some plumbing issues. In the shower for five minutes....the water drained SO slowly it was over my ankles. Gross. We told the front desk and they got someone to fix it. Well, we didn't get to try the shower because after that our toilet over flowed. They immediately moved us to another room. This second room had no plumbing issues and everything worked fine in it. The linens were clean and the towels were soft and fluffy. TV was ok, with basic channels and wifi worked without any issues. Mini fridge did it's job and kept our food and drinks cold. The clientele, well that's a different story. Luckily our end of the hallway was quiet, however when we walked to the elevator, one room had screaming and roudy kids from 8am - 10 pm. Not even kidding. The noise was constant. Then, Saturday night the fire alarms started going off. For about 30 minutes they were going on and off. My b/f and I got our dog on a leash and went outside until it subsided. Apparently someone was smoking and the fire alarm went off (smoke free hotel). This was, to say the least, annoying and disruptive. Then at one point the hallway smelled like weed. It was disgusting. I'm assuming it was probably the same people that made the alarm go off? If you want a functional hotel room that is clean and comfortable with exceptional staff, don't shy away. If there are any problems during your visit the staff will make it right! read more

Please , STAY AWAY!! I travel all the time and stay in all kinds of motels and hotels so I'm an easygoing person but ..... I have NEVER experience anything like this horrible, horrific slum!! If I can save even one person from what I experienced at the Quality Inn on Airport Rd in Mobile, Alabama it will make me feel somewhat better about this motel destroying my vacation. I am back at home three days early as I write this, with an already paid for rental car to boot ( all wasted $$ now ) because after I realized I simply couldn't sleep with a giant urine and blood stained comforter, feces smeared walls, multiple lamps that don't work because the cords have literally been RIPPED apart by someone .. etc, after I left this hellish space in the wee hours of the morning, there were no other vacancies left for hundreds of miles in every direction ( Friday night -beach season on the gorgeous Gulf Coast ) so I just drove my fancy rental that I splurged on for my beach trip ALL THE WAY HOME. THAT'S how filthy this place is!! Let's start from the beginning... I arrived late to check in ( around midnight ) So right away the rudeness I encountered from all three front desk staff was Outrageous after I was informed that my original room was overbooked. For about 20 minutes they tried to figure out where to put me ( remember I had booked a queen room through Priceline ) they even contemplated calling their "other property" when I tried to ask questions is when they told me to "just be quiet!" Finally after a lot of deliberation they said " we have a room, it's not nice but it is a Room!" Meaning my original room had already been given away to someone else....Hmm So since there is literally nothing else for hundreds of miles around, I take the card to check in ... room 127. When I entered the room the first thing I noticed was white powder spilled on the floor and the dresser... then I tried to turn on the light .. the lamp didn't work , in fact it couldn't even be plugged in ( see video ) I tried the lamp on the nightstand ( again no go ) also that lamp seemed to be caked in some kind of brown sludge.... ( see video ) I got online to see if there were any other lodging options but there weren't any so I decided to just try to stomach it and deal with it.. Oh also you can't walk barefoot on the carpet in that room because it is sooo sticky, and frankly, filthy .I went to grab a towel to take a shower and the towels, both of them, were very damp... even tho they were folded. So I went to the front desk and asked why the towels were damp .. the response was "we don't know, nobody has been in there for a long time" Ok, so i was angrily given two new towels (also stained)I go back to the room and start to shower but then I realize how dirty the bottom of the shower is and I just can't do it. So I just get out of the shower and tell myself I will shower tomorrow once I find a clean, safe place... I'm looking around the room more and notice lots of brown smudges on the wall ... as well as unidentifiable brown debris on the wall ( see photo ) I notice the brown smudges on the bed tarp ( I'm going to call it that because that's the best approximation of the cover layer -- similar to burlap). So I take the tarp thing off the bed . The only light at this point is coming from the bathroom since the other lights do not work. I decide to call Priceline and see what my options are as to cancelling ... they said there is nothing else available in the area and they cannot refund without the hotel's approval.. I try to just fall asleep but I'm feeling so gross and uncomfortable in the room that suddenly I decide to have a closer look at the comforter ( mostly to alleviate my growing sense of unease ) and to my horror there was a giant yellow urine stain on the center of the comforter surrounded by smaller splatterings of red and brown stains ... at that point, I threw off the cover and I got dressed to leave. When I walked out of the room one of the people who had been checked me in was outside , she asked "are you checking out?" And I said "yes the room is filthy and proceeded to list the issues" and her response was literally " well you must have done all those things yourself, you used the room-- you took a shower " then she told me to leave through the side door. No further discussion . When Priceline called to ask them to authorize a refund of the $122 I paid they said "No, the room was checked before and everything in the room worked." ( Not true ) Also the bed in the room I received seemed to be a full bed not a queen like I had booked. So because of the TOTAL lack of cleanliness and truly utter filth of this hotel , right now at 6 AM I am writing this from home with a rental car I won't be able to use after all. DO NOT STAY HERE! Renovation is over, they need to try again. This place is not where you want to start your cruise vacation!!! Room was not ready at 3. Was told 20 minutes for the room to be cleaned. 2 hours later it was still not ready. When we finally did get into our room the floors still needed to be vacuumed, NO toilet paper, light fixtures broken, NO TV remote and cigarette ashes on the AC unit that has not be updated. When you do get the TV to turn on, there is only about 8 channels. We had very loud music being playing at midnight in the room beside us, called the front desk to complain. Nothing changed, called many more times with no answer. All the other reviews are still TRUE Had to call the cops! Finally all the stuff stopped! One good thing! The lobby in the morning was like a therapy session all other guest console each other for the terrible night they had. One family had their car sideswiped and then the driver just left. If you're in the area, and considering a hotel- RUN AWAY from this one. We arrived around 11pm to check in and were greeted by the sweetest attendant and the coldest, freshest lobby ever. After asking to look at a room first, I left my hubby in the lobby and ran up to the third floor. The short story: You walk out of the beautiful, clean lobby through a glass door to a musty, dirty and smoke infused hallway and have to walk past 10 or so rooms to the elevator. The people I walked past must be living there. First room: Heat was on (it's 85 outside). Overpowering Musty smell. Carpet wet. Second room: cigarette smokey, musty, carpet wet. Essence of mold. Third room: Attendant excitedly gave us keys to suite but unfortunately same story. Refund, moved over to Holiday inn express for $10 more (amazing). There was a convention in town and rooms were hard to find. I called Choice where we have our travel deals and this was available. We booked and paid. First things first. Customer Service was slow at 11 pm. She yelled "You gotta wait. This is my lunch break." She proceeded to get back to her personal call while eating her lunch. Was going to take the stairs, but it smelled like Marijuana in the stair well. Pulled car close to the door near elevator. The door was not secure. It didn't latch. Anyone could walk in from outside. I've attached some pics. There was exposed wiring, an electric panel issue, pee in the elevator, trash everywhere, and the floor was uneven. The room was subpar. The phone didn't work, fridge was leaking, kitchen cabinet was damn and stained, and the front door latch failed, but the door did lock. The bathroom was musty, tub stained, and light casing exposed. The switch at the sink zapped you. The floor seemed like it was hollow and you would fall through any moment. Loud. Realized the loud voices at 2 am were those working there. Keep driving. BED BUGS!!! If it was possible to leave zero stars, I would. Don't get fooled by stock photos of how nice it is there. I should have left as soon as I saw two guys smoking at the entrance of this "100% smoke free hotel". Entire lobby smelled like cigarettes, mixed with musky mildew smell. Front desk lady was on the phone about barking dogs that apparently disturbed everyone all day long. Again, should have walked out then. Finally got the room, musky and very strong cigarettes smell - almost threw up. Got a new room - no ac, broken couch, nasty sinks. Everything looks overused, dirty and gross. And the best surprise - bed bugs are waiting for you! Flipped a pillow and probably 15 of them were just hanging out. GROSS! If you can avoid this hotel, please do. We made our reservations online for king size bed we get here and they only have 2 queens available the girl gave us a discount for the night and told us we can check out and check back in tomorrow to get s king size bed!! The guy before us came down and complained that his AC wasn't working and bath tub was clogged and this is the 3rd time he had to change rooms. So anyways we get to our room it wasn't bad until I go to take a shower the tub is dirty and has hair in it...the shower curtains are dirty and someone's old used towel was hanging on the curtain rod. So I wore flip flops to take my shower I get out Grab a towel and there was a long curly hair stuck on it!! I go to brush my teeth and there's hair in the sink! If I could give this hotel a zero I certainly would. The inside was very old and needs to be updated, which I can get past however, when we went into our room it smelled very moldy. The mirror in the room was streaked, there was black curly hair on the carpet and a dirty sock sitting in the corner. The sheets appeared clean and the air conditioner did work well. The elevator doesn't appear to have been cleaned in years. The breakfast area needs to stay stocked with forks, cups, etc so your guests do not have to ask if you have any. Staff was friendly. We had a great stay here. The room was large with a nice size kitchen and dining table besides a couch/living room area and bedroom. The hotel was full of teenagers there for a cross country tournament, yet it was still quiet in our room. We had a lot of options around us for dinner, and it was right off the freeway, when we had to leave the next day it made it easy. The room was very clean and the staff was very nice. They also had a washer/dryer available for us to use (which is huge when we've been traveling on tour for over 2 months). They also had a great workout room. It almost inspired me to work out. Got moved to a new room that initially felt a little better and figured just needed to turn down the ac and it would cool off more. Nope never did. I slept horrible bc I was constantly sweating. Tub needs to be replaced, very gross in appearance. Toilet lid was incorrect size on it‍ had to go ask for towels since none were stocked in my room. Paid way too much money for this dump. Just a crappy motel...... with super thin walls. People running around all hours of the night.... upstairs neighbors sounded like they were having a wrestling match. Don't expect help from the front desk, for anything. Marginally clean. This would be an only port in the storm kinda place. read more

Tracy: Thank you for your response; however, you were the one who personally advised me during our stay that your system was hacked and that 6 other AMEX customers had the same issues. In fact, you were present when one of the would be thieves called me and we discussed the fact you were calling the local police Dept to file a report. I have left messages for The GM to call me back and in fact, he said he would update me on the issues over two weeks ago and I haven't received a call from him. I can understand the issues at hand but I can't understand the very poor customer service follow up on top of the bad experience we had at your facility. I wish you all the best and certainly hope lessons learned are reviewed with staff to ensure improved customer service. My daughter had to visit the doctors office three times due to the severity of the bed bug bites and no one from your facility, including the GM has showed any concern or compassion regarding the issues. read more

Without sounding trite my return visit for the 4th time we've stayed at Quality Inn and Suites was better than all the rest the room is very clean spacious the staff was great the parking was awesome the food in the morning at breakfast was excellent and very very convenient to the new venue we were at and who will return and thanks again for having us read more

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS HOTEL! this was the only option our family of six had. I was embarrassed the second we walked in. After checking in, my kids had to walk past The lady behind the desk giving her coworker a lap dance. On the way to the elevator there was someone either drunk or drugged out laying on the floor outside his room. One of our rooms looked like a murder scene. Stained carpet, patched ceiling, disgusting mattress on the pull out couch. The second room was a little better but the pull out couch was broken and couldn't even support the flimsy mattress. This place is a dump Nothing but problems the entire stay Day 2 I had to beg for towels from about 4 different people and finally just took them for myself off of the cart Complained about the marijuana and incense smell to the front desk but they did nothing The reason that I rented this room was because of the indoor pool however when we try to go swim the pool was full of men throwing each other around screaming and yelling and taking up the entire hot tub and pool When I complain to the front desk they seem to be friends with the people who had taken over the pool....
