Upon arriving, there's no one at check in. They leave your name and room key in an envelope at the front desk. I guess I'm not use to this, but it was late and I just wanted to get into my room. I had a room on the 2nd floor. It was great and very comfortable. Lots of space for 1 person. The room had a mini fridge that had several water bottles, sodas, fruit, yogurt. It was very accommodating that they provided that for their guest. One evening it was raining and I was caught in the rain.. my clothes were drenched and I decided to do laundry. It was very easy to use and I found it super convenient. I loved Hotel Sterling and will probably be back when I'm in town again.

The service, while almost invisible is excellent. The rooms are outstanding. The price is reasonable. The in room refreshments are free. I only wish we could stay here more often. My one complaint has little to do with the hotel. Downtown Monroe isn't doing great and some of the shops and eateries nearest walking distance were closed. But it's Monroe. You can drive across town in 5 minutes.

There is no dedicated web page, just a Facebook page with a few pictures and basic details, and you have to book by calling the Boulevard Market. We booked the Italian room for a recent visit to Tecumseh -- very convenient for the Evans Street Station (next door), where we had a very enjoyable dinner, with ample parking between the two buildings. The Tecumseh brewery is just a half-block away on Chicago Boulevard and there is a sports bar a few steps down Evans street from the Inn; there is a popular bakery that opens at four in the morning on the Boulevard. The Italian room is at the front of the building -- huge sash windows, reaching up to high ceilings, overlooking Chicago Boulevard and Evans Street, with great views down the streets (downtown Tecumseh is all fine nineteenth-century buildings; if you like small-town America, you will love this). The apartment was very comfortable -- lots of room in the bed/sitting room (decent-sized bed; small but adequate table -- you could work at it if you needed to; big sofa); a spacious kitchen; the bathroom is a bit cramped and up two steps, but is adequate. There is a gas stove with four burners and an oven (which I did not check), a big fridge-freezer, a coffee maker (also not used by us, but I assume it works), and a microwave in the kitchen, which is also equipped with a couple of frying pans, a saucepan, a few plates, bowls, and cups, and some basic knives, forks, etc. If you plan to do any serious cooking, you would be well advised to bring your favorite kitchen tools with you (and, perhaps, some plastic plates, cups, glasses, and bowls). And note: there was no tea or coffee, nor any salt, pepper, or spices, in the kitchen. That didn't matter for us -- dinner was at the Evans Street Station, and we had breakfast at the Morning Grind coffee shop just across Chicago Boulevard (both excellent) -- so we used the kitchen just to make tea, which we brought with us, along with a tea pot -- we never leave home for an overnight trip without either item... If you do rent the apartment and need supplies, there is a Busch supermarket on the edge of town, open, I believe, from 7 to 10. Two warnings: the stairs up to the apartments are steep -- not for the infirm or the very young; and the Boulevard Market closes at six on week nights (seven on Saturdays), so if you plan to stock up on wine and cheese on arrival, make sure to get to Tecumseh in good time. Overall, I found the accommodation very pleasant, in an absolutely charming location. Lots of room, adequately furnished. Don't expect twenty-first-century remodeling (there is a large and somewhat noisy in-room air conditioner, the sash windows are original and have to be closed at night to keep out the noise of the occasional traffic, and you do have to negotiate those stairs), but if you like the idea of seeing the church spire at the end of the boulevard from your bed as you wake up in the heart of small-town Michigan, just ten paces from an excellent restaurant and in the centre of a charming downtown, one block from a small farmers' market (Saturday mornings all summer) this is for you.

Let's start with the positive: it is clean; it is right in the center of downtown Tecumseh. However.....the small kitchen was very poorly stocked. There was one fork, one knife, one spoon, three coffee cups, two plastic margarita glasses that were, I imagine, to serve as wine glasses. (Remember, the proprietor runs a very nice wine and cheese shop directly below the room.) There were no water or juice glasses. However, when we asked Erika to bring some up, she did. She brought two spoons, two forks, five very small, disposable plastic cups and a hair dryer. There was a small stove, oven and microwave. There was one small saucepan, and no cooking utensils. My wife and I made the reservation, well in advance, for a five-night stay. When we registered, we were told that someone would come in daily and replace towels, linens, etc. That never happened. We were given four towels for our five-night stay, and were not given any more until we requested them. The dirty towels were never removed during our stay. WE made our bed every morning, but that was the least of our complaints. The sheets were loose, and slipped around on the mattress.....BECAUSE THERE WAS NO MATTRESS PAD ON THE MATTRESS!! We feel that this property has potential. Upon checkout, we offered our suggestions to the lady to whom we returned our key. She became very defensive, noted that people don't usually stay that long, and said she would tell her mom. No apology was offered. There are other true bed and breakfasts in Tecumseh; check those out before visiting this quaint, historic town.

They have an amazing pool, hot tub and a really good home-cooked breakfast. They have fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, omelettes, yogurt, waffle, oatmeal, toast, bagels.... Really awesome. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of hot dishes and cold items like cereal, yogurt and fruit. I enjoyed their coffee, it's freshly ground. WiFi reception is good and they have enough outlets in the room. There is a small store next to the front desk, where you can buy water, snacks and laundry detergent. The hotel is far from anything, except the hotel next door. I used an Uber for the drive to Monroe to pick up a couple of gifts and it was further than expected. On laundry day, the front desk had no quarters and didn't offer any solutions. I decided to try the hotel next door and they suggested walking across the street to the gas station. After all that, the dryer stole the quarters I put in and asked for another 3.75. I finally got that problem resolved, but would not recommend doing laundry close to your check out time. Overall, the hotel is nice, it's an average Holiday Inn. This hotel would work well for groups, they have meeting rooms and an exercise room too. I found it a little expensive and a bit isolated, but it's a suitable place to stay if you're in the area.

She said she could put our name on the list now and I asked how many people have been put on the list in the last five days and she said about seven so I said that completely screws us and she said do you want me to put your name on the list or not very rude nonhelpful and she hung up on me. so my boyfriend called right after me and then she was able to find her name on the list Even though I gave my first name and last name his first name and last name and she was just so rude to me. Good thing we found covered wagon a lot cheaper just as nice and the people are very sweet and helpful.

This is the least discriminatory place you will find with many ¨God loving and generous folks¨ just waiting to say hi and give you a wave. I can't say enough great things about Indian Creek Campground in Tecumseh, Michigan! From the…read moremoment we arrived, the staff made us feel like part of the family. The grounds are immaculately kept, and you can really tell how much pride and care goes into maintaining the place. Our campsite was spacious, shaded, and just a short walk from the camp store--which was a peaceful spot to sit with a cup of coffee in the morning. The kids loved the playground and jump pad, and the terrainables were a huge hit! There was a real sense of community, especially during the themed activities on Saturday night. Bathrooms were some of the cleanest I've seen at any campground, and the camp store had everything we forgot to pack (plus some great ice cream). We even met the owners, who were walking around chatting with guests--super friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. We've already booked another stay for later this summer. If you're looking for a relaxing, family-friendly place to camp with a real personal touch, Indian Creek is the spot. Can't wait to come back!

Nicole was super responsive and helped us build the perfect menu for over 75 guests. For our package we picked Spinach & Artichoke Dip, double Blooming Charcuterie, Crudité Platter, Fruit Platter and a Caprese Crostini. We chose to pick up the items on the morning of the wedding and setup the table ourselves. Nicole made sure we had plenty of plates and serve ware. She helped to make ensure we had gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. Everything was so fresh, delicious and beautifully arranged. They only thing I noticed was we had an abundance of spinach dip left. It was delicious, but I think we could've used more naan bread or we might have been fine with a smaller portion. All the other plates were empty by the end of the night. Nicole also included some really special on theme cheeses on our boards knowing that we had The Taco Truck of Clinton for dinner. We couldn't have asked for a better, more mouthwatering and beautiful spread for our wedding. Highly recommend!

But it is done very nicely inside with a very inviting ambiance and it has an attractive appeal. I am giving this place the benefit of the doubt with four stars because it is a bit of a mixed review. Our experience was mostly positive, however. As mentioned, the decor is quite lovely. It exudes the country style ambiance and I like the way their front counter is set up to present a country store look. But it seems to be a country store and deli in one. I think they could do a good job of this except they really don't quite have the space to pull it off as well as they could. It's a bit cramped and the seating space is very, very limited with perhaps enough room for six or eight patrons. We were fortunate no one else was there when we visited such that we were able to sit at one of the tables to have our lunch. To be fair, they may be targeting take-away patrons more than eat-in customers. Another aspect of the mixed reviews was the food. First, I have to say I loved the creative names they presented for their daily fare in honor of Christmas, using the Home Alone movie as a basis. For example, I had the Look-What-You-Did-You-Little-Jerk Chicken Sandwich. The menu was rather limited in number of offerings, but there were enough. The soups were quite tempting with Stuffed Pepper and Baked Potato available. Both were excellent. My wife made a lunch just from the Stuffed Pepper soup. The Jerk Chicken, however, did not have much jerk to it. It might have been better named Exemplar or Paragon Chicken, because it was not at all Jerky. In fact, it was rather plain and dry. I saved half and used a mayo/mustard combo as a dip when I ate my leftover...and it was much better. I will say that the portion was very good, however. It was more than I needed to eat in one sitting. The prices also took me a little aback. For two cups of soup, one wrap with chips, a coffee, a latte, a cookie and a gift container of five macarons, our total bill was $43.00. Take away the macarons, which were not part of lunch, and it was still $27. But given that my wife's lunch was a cup of soup, a latte and half a cookie, $13.50 per person is a little steep. Maybe it's just that everything is getting over-the-top expensive everywhere, but this just struck me as a bit much. Overall, it was a very pleasant little shop with good presentation, good coffee, tasty soup and nice sweets. The wrap needed a little something extra but otherwise, it was pretty good. I'd like to give it another try sometime.
