They don't really mean this... They didn't have something as simple as Q-Tips.

I asked for connecting rooms and didn't get them even though I reserved the 2 rooms weeks ago. Apparently they only have 2 rooms that connect. At 8:15 PM today we went down to get some towels for our kids in the pool and the front desk person was rude. She lied to us and said she didn't have any towels, then miraculously came up some. Apparently we were bothering her while she was talking to her Mom on the phone. She gave us tude because she had to help a customer and couldn't continue with her conversation with her Mom. Rooms are ok. Nothing special on the beds, pillows, etc. Pool is open 24 hrs. Breakfast looked decent. They have a sign that says... "If you forgot something...". We called down to the front desk at 9:45 AM on 4/5 and asked for Q-tips and they have none. I really don't know why hotels put that sign up if they don't mean it.

    Best bed ever! Sweet dreams!

The newly renovated Sleep Inn & Suites of Milan Michigan is everything you could want in a perfect hotel stay! Everything is new and crisp, clean, and fabulous. I am a standup comic and travel a lot performing everywhere in the United States, and it is a joy and comfort when I can stay in a high quality hotel for an affordable price. My king size bed and luxurious pillows provided me with a great night's sleep. The coffee maker in the room was a great convenience for my morning start. It was nice to have a microwave to reheat my lunch and a refrigerator in the room as well. Of course free Wi-Fi and ample parking is a plus too. There is a great 24 hour pool and work-out facility and the hotel is also pet friendly. Management (Thank you Jason!) was friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding area and points of interest, and the hotel staff (Thanks Andrew!) provided excellent customer service during my stay, even providing a late check-out. I enjoyed my stay very much and hope to come back to perform in Ann Arbor soon and stay here again!

She knows her way around so please feel welcomed to ask her for directions. Her cozy abode is quirky at first but you'll be drawn by the deep passion this lady has for these knickknacks. Home is well furnished: community bathroom, community kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and dining room (red room) for breakfast. Very clean and full of color. She cooks a pretty good "eggs in a basket" dish that's a scramble of eggs, asparagus, almonds, cranberries, and chicken/asiago cheese sausages. Croissant (so good!), coffee, tea, and orange juice is also available. She's very accommodating so don't be afraid to ask. The only issues we came across were the extra soft beds and fleece sheets that may be uncomfortable for some. Room's aren't too spacious but enough to house two people comfortably (but who stays in on a vacation?). She does have cats but they stay in her room and may roam in the breakfast area. I'm allergic to cats but they were not a problem for me at all. Please do keep the library bed and breakfast in mind the next time you come to Ann Arbor as her price is comparable and she'll make your experience a pleasurable memory!

The owner, Joan Knoertzer, indicated that she was late for an appointment, but asked for a minute, then came back and told us to come by anyway! We arrive to a non-description residence covered with grapevines and trees on Mary Street, just off the busy corner of Packard and State. You could almost throw a rock and hit the Athletic Administration building we were so close! We parked on the street and walked up the curving steps to warmly greeted by a wonderful lady decked out in full Maize and Blue. This was just the beginning, as we entered which could best described as a bibliophile paradise crossed with a museum to all things Ann Arbor/ U of M. Climbing the steps, you first encounter the Poetry and Mystery Rooms, followed by a full Pullman kitchen and sitting area. If your into Ann Arbor's past, you'll find two great hanging lights from the old Pretzel Bell Restaurant, surrounded by books of all types. Last is the Tiny Book Room, which is filled with - you guessed it - tiny books. We had a great dinner later than night at Melting Pot (review forthcoming) and went to bed early and slept great. We woke up the next morning to amazing smells coming from downstairs, where we and another couple were greeted to fresh coffee, OJ, homemade pumpkin bread and pumpkin butter! This was followed by a fruit course and an amazing quiche. Mixed with a wonderful conversation, we felt like we were totally at home. Even the three cats, Kipling, Cinnamon and, well, I forget the third, treated us well. We then spent the next hour talking about everything books - we just didn't want to leave! Trust me, there is no better place to stay in AA, especially for the price and the food. Try it, you won't be sorry!

Front desk attendant was pleasant enough for a 2:30AM arrival (long night of travel). Room was clean, as was the bathroom. No thermostat in the room, just an AC unit near the window. It worked well enough, but looked old, like it hadn't been cleaned recently. Sink and mirror are outside of the bathroom - which was odd and at the same time convenient (esp sharing a room). A couple of the lamps looked a little worn. Breakfast spread was a little underwhelming - powdered egg mix, biscuits, gravy, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, bagels. Eggs were a bit watery - could have just been that day's preparation. Would have liked to see some sort of protein, but can't complain as it was free. Thankfully there are a few fast food joints located in a couple minutes' drive from the hotel. No ice machines on the second floor. I don't think I would do a multi-night stay here, but for someone just passing through, it's pretty run-of-the mill for the price range.

Due to this, I am not sure why i had to pay over $200 for a room PLUS the outrageous fee for "water park" entry. The water in the splash park was SO cold we could only stay in for 15 minutes before my daughters' lips turned blue. Total waste of money! All night long children were running through the halls, even playing ding dong ditch. The guests directly upstairs sounded like a herd of elephants ALL NIGHT LONG. I came with a 1 year old and a 3 year old and none of us slept throughout the night. I called the office about it but it continued throughout the night/early morning. There was nothing else about this hotel and waterpark was even average. I have never had such consistently poor service from any other vacation-type destination. Check-in is woefully understaffed and results in lines. We had to have our room key remade twice because it stopped working... There was a ten minute wait at the front desk both times. The in-house restaurant is where we found the worst service. It was as though they were surprised to see guests, and after our experience, I see why. We ate dinner there and waited to place our order, waited for drinks, burgers were overcooked, and all three burgers were gone by the time the mustard we requested made it to the table. We made the mistake of eating at the breakfast buffet the next morning. We waited 25 minutes to be seated, while staring at several (not sure if it was 4 or 5) empty tables the entire time. Once seated, it was another 20 minutes before anyone stopped to take a drink order, and then another 10 minutes before we received our bill. My family will never return to this location.

From the moment we arrived, the hotel had an unpleasant odor and felt dated and poorly maintained. Our first night, we found a beetle crawling on the ceiling, wall, and counter. To the hotel's credit, they moved us to another room. Unfortunately, the replacement room had old, dried blood on the comforter, which was completely unacceptable. And the glass shower door opened 6 times, sliding back and forth during our showers. The customer service only made matters worse. During our stay, t the front desk manager, Kyle, appeared to genuinely try to help; however, our interaction with the Assistant General Manager, Brandy, was disappointing and the worst we've ever experienced in 30 years of traveling. She was dismissive, rude, and had an unprofessional attitude. Her solution was to offer complimentary parking and take off food charges, which was subpar at best. They really don't need to have a restaurant in there, and the brunch was canceled. That might have been meaningful if the hotel hadn't already failed to disclose the $34 daily parking fee before our stay. Considering this hotel is in a rural area with an open parking lot, charging $34 per day for a rural area is a joke and then they gave us coupons to the disgusting restaurant. Between the cleanliness issues, the insect in our room, the blood-stained bedding, the unexpected parking fee, and the poor customer service, this stay did not come close to the quality we expect from a Marriott property. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.
