From the Orbitz review, it's pretty good. It's on our way back to Cincinnati, so it's convenient. To my surprise, the hotel is pretty good, the bed is comfortable, the sheet is good quality, pillow is comfortable, also have fridge and microwave in the room. They also provide free breakfast with sausage, eggs, yogurt, waffles, banana and apples, pretty adequate for a breakfast. I'm very happy for my choice. read more

I wasn't going to write a review on this hotel because of the circumstances around the booking. However when you see certain things the Yelp honor code will not let go silent. Let me get into the circumstances on the booking I took my boys to University of Michigan to watch a soccer match. We booked a month out and every hotel near the stadium was booked. I could've paid 370 bucks for room or head south I'm a smaller town. Milan is about 20 minutes from Michigan stadium and they had one room available at 169 bucks. I took it. Pulled up at the hotel and I pressed the bell ding. The lady finds my name and gave me a key. I noticed that the wall plaques didn't have my room listed. My son found the but it was called the "Murphy room". So the converted a meeting room into a bedroom to capitalize on the event. They left meeting notes in the dry erase board in the room. They also left a stack of tables and chairs in the corner. Smh. read more

Pleasant hotel. Front desk is always friendly, pool, breakfast area and work out area are very clean. You can tell the rooms are becoming outdated they painted and added new deco but the wallpaper is falling in some rooms I've stayed in. We've also got a room that was left unlocked before we checked in so the room had a big wet spot from a kids party running in and out and the safe was locked. (Which seems like a random incident but also that they don't secure unoccupied rooms) Asides from that it seems to really be worth the money. (I do not recommend the end of the building as its so close to the highway, and the windows are older so you hear it all night) read more

I asked for connecting rooms and didn't get them even though I reserved the 2 rooms weeks ago. Apparently they only have 2 rooms that connect. At 8:15 PM today we went down to get some towels for our kids in the pool and the front desk person was rude. She lied to us and said she didn't have any towels, then miraculously came up some. Apparently we were bothering her while she was talking to her Mom on the phone. She gave us tude because she had to help a customer and couldn't continue with her conversation with her Mom. Rooms are ok. Nothing special on the beds, pillows, etc. Pool is open 24 hrs. Breakfast looked decent. They have a sign that says... "If you forgot something...". We called down to the front desk at 9:45 AM on 4/5 and asked for Q-tips and they have none. I really don't know why hotels put that sign up if they don't mean it. read more

This hotel was a terrific surprise. Like many travelers, I just wanted someplace clean at a low price. This Sleep Inn supplied both and so much more. The room is much bigger than I expected. It's great to have separate working and eating areas. Since staying more than a couple nights, I'm enjoying the convenience of the sink by the refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Breakfast options are plentiful and the work out area provides more options than most hotels. An added treat, the window in my room opens. I love being able to get fresh air in a hotel room, which isn't an option at most hotels. That's probably minor to many travelers, but it makes a difference to me. The staff has been professional, helpful and actually fun to deal with. Again, very important when staying more than a couple nights. I'm very happy with my decision to stay at the Sleep Inn, Milan and will definitely come back when I work in this region again. read more

The newly renovated Sleep Inn & Suites of Milan Michigan is everything you could want in a perfect hotel stay! Everything is new and crisp, clean, and fabulous. I am a standup comic and travel a lot performing everywhere in the United States, and it is a joy and comfort when I can stay in a high quality hotel for an affordable price. My king size bed and luxurious pillows provided me with a great night's sleep. The coffee maker in the room was a great convenience for my morning start. It was nice to have a microwave to reheat my lunch and a refrigerator in the room as well. Of course free Wi-Fi and ample parking is a plus too. There is a great 24 hour pool and work-out facility and the hotel is also pet friendly. Management (Thank you Jason!) was friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding area and points of interest, and the hotel staff (Thanks Andrew!) provided excellent customer service during my stay, even providing a late check-out. I enjoyed my stay very much and hope to come back to perform in Ann Arbor soon and stay here again! read more

I stayed there a couple of days it was $65 plus tax which wouldn't bad but the power was out and that we had to say little but we wanted to stay another night and then they up to 200 I think that's highway robbery I think any motel or any company that allowed stuff like that should not be in business and that was 200 a night just what and a sporting event it was just a regular power outage so it it isn't right for these people to Triple their money because of a disaster I don't think so or a power outage that's dead wrong read more

Unclean.. smelly rooms. Front desk staff is so good. Good for a one day stay. But traffic noise at night is horrible. And the alarm clock in rooms will automatically get on midnight. Faulty equipment. Breakfast is bad. I have seen them reheat the same biscuits and eggs daily in microwave. Hot water is having some particles in it. House cleaning is worst. We got a room covered with dust and hair. And asked them to clean it. They came the next day to do it. Worst in cleaning. Bathroom shower is useless. Bad experience for 85$ per night. I recently stayed at the Sleep Inn & Suites in Milan, Michigan, and it was the high point of a week-long business trip with several stops along the way. The General Manager greeted us with smiles and a friendly demeanor, which was matched by every staff member we interacted with (the lady in charge of the breakfast area was particularly funny...you need a laugh in the morning, I say). The room itself was excellent, outfitted with mini-fridge and microwave (mini-fridge very important for this diabetic who needs to keep insulin refrigerated), large work area, free wifi and a nice big easy chair to sit in and relax when the day is done. There was a great compliment of cable channels, parking was well-lit, safe and secure, and breakfast in the morning was great. In the immediate area around the hotel, there were quite a few restaurants to choose from, and everything we needed (from bank to grocery store) were a short drive away. Great property, I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone in a minute! read more

The rooms were decent enough, and the staff was polite, but TERRIBLY incompetent. It would have been a fine stay if we were just passing through, but this was for a wedding... My sister was unable to book a block of rooms anywhere else for her wedding due to the U of M home game on Saturday, so after calling multiple times to check for availability, someone at Sleep Inn finally said yes, we have rooms. The other people she talked to said no, but apparently had no clue what they were talking about. We were told to call the day of check in to see if we could get into our rooms early. When I called the day of on behalf of myself, my sister, our parents, and our cousin who was a bridesmaid, Jessica at the front desk told me this was only her 4th day and she had no idea if we could check in early. The manager was not around, but Jessica said she would have him call me. 45 minutes later, I had not heard from anyone so I called back and told Jessica that we lived an hour away and if we could check in early, we would need to be leaving in 20 minutes. She said she would call back soon. Just as I was about to call and get rowdy, she called me saying we could check in early. Early check in is a pretty common concept--it should not have been that much of a process to figure out if we could get in early or not. Friday morning, as we were getting hair and make up done, everyone's room keys stopped working. The manager said whoever programmed them upon check in must not have entered 2 nights. I don't think he apologized though. So we had the inconvenience of trying to get changed and get to the venue while also getting all of our keys reprogrammed. I must mention that I also heard at least 3 staff members saying "I don't know how to do that" at some point or another. Looks like training is not real high priority there. My sister also brought welcome bags for the guests staying for her wedding. She gave them to the front desk when we arrived on Thursday but apparently the Thursday staff failed to mention this to the Friday staff, because none of the guests every got one. Again, this is not a new concept--welcome bags are pretty common for wedding guests at the hotel, but their staff just didn't do their job. My sister worked hard on those and spent a good chunk of change for them to just sit on the floor behind the counter. It makes my blood boil that no continuity was found, no competence was to be seen, and none of the staff ever seemed to care that they were screwing things up. read more

Hotel is actually very nice. Big rooms, pool, and the complimentary breakfast is very ample (eggs, waffles, sasuage, yogurt and more). The only drawback to this place would be the area but if you are electing to stay in Milan that's your fault! We stayed here prior to the Winter Classic and needed to hire a car service as it is 15-20 minutes from Ann Arbout and the Big House. Would recommend staying here if you needed to as it is VERY inexpensive. read more

Limited options for hotels in Milan. We've stayed here before and it wasn't awesome but wasn't terrible. This time rated as terrible. They're doing construction, but we had no warning that would be going on while we were staying there. When we checked in, we were greeted with the sounds of jackhammering. We were given a room on the 3rd floor. The elevator opened up to another guy jackhammering right at the entrance to the elevator. Graciously, he stopped jackhammering long enough for us to walk past him. When we returned to the hotel later, there were signs that the elevators were now shut down while they worked on construction, which meant we got to take 3 flights of stairs. Not so bad by itself but a real pain carrying luggage. Beds were comfortable and the hotel is decently clean, minus the mildew growing in the bathroom. If the sound of the highway lulls you to sleep; this is the place for you. You can hear trucks driving past all night. The front desk tried to be accommodating but were frequently pulled away for construction concerns. We ended up getting a discount, but not sure we'll try staying here again, even once the construction is done. read more

In all fairness, I wrote a very detailed letter to the manager of this property on January 3, 2016 about my less than stellar experience. I have not received any response to date. I arrived on the evening of December 24 and checked out December 29, 2015. The first room I was assigned was dirty - there was human hair on the pillows and sheets of both queen beds, which had been made up. I was then reassigned a different room. The motel allegedly was experiencing 'staffing issues', and my room was not cleaned, nor was the bed made on December 25; on December 26, the beds were made, the wet towels were gone, but I received no replacements; December 27, the beds were made, I had fresh towels, but the floor had not been vacuumed (popped corn on floor and band aids in shower on soap tray). December 28 the room was almost spotless. At breakfast on December 29, there were no forks in the entrée area (waffles and biscuits and gravy), and I started opening drawers in hopes of finding them. A woman in a Sleep Inn polo shirt who was more interested in the content on two laptops on a table, one with a power cord across the floor to a nearby wall, asked what I was doing. Then waved her hand in the direction of the entrée area, only getting up when I said there were none. She found a fork by the cereal and sat back down. When I finished breakfast, I noted she was gone, but the forks had not been filled in the entrée area. In my letter to the manager, I noted the lack of service and I requested a 50% refund. I have yet to receive that. Previously, I have stayed at this property for at least three years, two of them during the Christmas holidays, as well as spring and summer months. Never has the service been this bad. This is by no means representative of other Sleep Inn properties. read more
