Poor service at Rosie's gaming, not Rosie's but the Dutch Inn food and bar area. The manager at the bar and food area offered very poor service today. I went in to order. The service from the manager of the restaurant was very poor. I paid for my food earlier this time, usually I pay after I finish eating and near ready to go. This time he wanted me to pay at first. At the end I asked for a refill, he told me it's usually $2 for refills. He gave it to me this time, but that's ridiculous. It felt like he didn't want to serve me or be there. My concern is the overall poor service with Dutch Inn, the food part not Rosie's. I paid near $20 and can't even get a refill on my soft drink. Plus the manager was acting like he didn't even want to help me, and I need to voice my concerns. My concern is not with Rosie's, but with Dutch Inn car and restaurant area, and poor service with the restaurant manager. The Rosie's rep was very helpful, and mentioned the food part is not connected to them. Thank you. read more

Two stories, exterior entrances, outdoor pool. The Dutch Inn (Quality Inn) has been a landmark of this area for many years. I had a king room, lower floor, back of the property. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable, a/c worked well, strong wifi signal, quiet surroundings. Having said that, the room was in need of renovation. Wallpaper was separating and ripped in a couple of spots. Also noticed some of the public areas (walkways) were in need of general maintenance/ a good cleaning. Breakfast was at an actual restaurant. Guests get a coupon at the front desk for a free breakfast (several options). I selected the buffet, which had many options that were a step above the normal free breakfast buffet at the typical Choice Hotel. Overal pleasant experience. read more

The legendary Dutch Inn does not disappoint...if you are looking for modest accommodations and willing to gamble on a working AC unit. Our reservation request for poolside view was not accommodated, so we were left with a parking lot view with some of Martinsville's finest presenting their own entertainment. Rooms are fine and the decor is set somewhere between 1985 - 1995. The box TV had a host of channels including HBO. We enjoyed our stay, but knew what we were getting in to... And we got in to it (check out Wild Magnolias for nightlife, the Flying Dutchmen was beat). read more

No hot water, AC was struggling to maintain 80 degrees, pillows smelled like they've been slept on by multiple sweaty people. But wait there's more; toilet seat was covered in some kind of substance I walked around barefoot then got in the shower only to have black dirt footprints in the water. I would have asked for another room but my coworker had already done that with less than stellar results and another woman I'd never met told me she was waiting for another room. DO NOT STAY HERE! EVER! The morning before we checked in a family member had reserved a room facing the courtyard. The hotel manager Mrs. Reeves guaranteed the room would be ours when we arrived later that night. We arrived around 11:00pm. I was checked in by a young man who seemed to be stressed to find our room. He told a nice woman that we were in an odd room, she remarked "are those rooms open now?". The room was in an annex far from the main hotel. I opened the door to a dark dank room that had hot uncirculated air. The light swich next to the door did not work. An arm door was next to the air-conditioning unit had an arm broken, the air-conditioner was not operational by any standards. The floor of the entire room was covered in dry wall dust. At the end of the room was the sink which was propped up by a 2x4. That was pushing me to the edge. I looked into the bathroom and say an out of date bathroom with an unflushed toilet and black mold in the corners of the shower. I immediately called my grandmother who had reserved our room for us. She said to talk to the front desk and see what they could do. They were more frustrated that the room was not the right one. The young man who had checked us in was gone. The woman who had remarked the room wasn't ready helped us saying to "call the manager and just find another hotel because they were booked". I obliged and promptly checked out free of charge. As the desk attendant recommend, my grandmother came in and spoke to Mrs. Reeves, the hotel manager. She said that my grandmother was a "liar and didn't come in that morning (my grandmother told me the number and location of the room which the girl from the previous night confirmed) and if we reviewed the hotel badly, she would charge her for libel. Luckily we have pictures. And the first ammendment. Tl;Dr version Manager is horrible and the hotel is disgusting. Also the customer is always a liar. read more

Rent a room at this Hotel if you really hate yourself. We are currently staying here for the race and this the most disgusting room I have ever seen. The room probably hasn't been properly cleaned In weeks...the horrible smells that the room gives off leads me to believe there might dead rodents (or a body) in the walls. There are stains from who knows what all over every wall. The bathroom is horrible and made the mistake of walking in there barefoot and left foot prints in the dirt- the floors in the bathroom haven't been mopped in a long time...cracks in the walls... furniture is ancient and mattresses are yellow ...oh and to top it off the front door doesn't close properly and there is about a half inch of daylight coming through. read more

If I could I would give it no rating. This hotel had mold on the walls and they covered it with wallpaper. Well I'm room 111 the wallpaper is comIng off so yOu can see it. The light dixture in the bathroom is extremely filthy with dirt and rust. The pillow cases had makeup stains on them. This unfortunately was my only option after traveling to see my mom in the hospital and I checked in at 1am and left as soon as my and my daughter were awake.the refrigerator in the room didn't even work either. I notified the lady at the front desk and she kinda blew me off bc she didn't respond. I asked her would it be a lawsuit if therE is mold in the room and you all put me in that room knowing that and she said no man'. I would definitely say stay away from this place. Recently stayed here when my home collapsed due to a sink hole. Had no problem until 7/27/22 . When I started to feel like they were trying to push me out indirectly. Would come by every morning early as possible asking if I'm gonna extend stay even when I've been booked for over a week. Then they started coming by multiple times a day asking for money when I know I'm paid up. The finally straw was when they came to my room said I owed 234 I paid them $505 in one day and the next day I was told I had to pay or leave. Someone there is stealing money. I didn't make a scene or argue with them. I'm just gonna make it known that someone is until they do something about it. read more

Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Roaches in the bathroom. No hot water in shower and low water pressure. Microwave and refrigerator plugged into extension cord. Lamp in corner had frayed cord with electrical tape. It also had to be plugged in to work as there was no on/off switch. We had a room that was next to the staircase and ice dispenser and that had an adjoining room next door. The noise from all combined did nothing but keep us up all night. Very disappointed and I will not going back. I spoke to the clerk when I checked out. read more

A five star review with the disclaimer that it exceeded expectations and you get what you pay for. The price is inexpensive, so expect older fixtures. The bathroom in our room hasn't been renovated in decades, but everything worked. I love the old fashioned Dutch tiles in the shower. The mattress seemed new & very comfortable. All the staff we encountered - desk clerks, restaurant staff, housekeeping - were friendly & accommodating. Numerous choices on breakfast bar, including omelette station. This isn't the Ritz, but it's comfortable & cheap. We'll stay here again when we come through town. read more

Do not stay here if you are looking for a clean room free of bed bugs! Stained recliner, dimly lit room, (co-workers room had black mold on walls and ceiling), and worst of all, when I turned down the sheets, bed bugs. Like, huge ones. And plenty of 'em. Company had booked us there for one night because it was close to meeting site. Needless to say, we didn't stay and company was refunded for the rooms. read more

Gross floors with no carpets. The wingback chair next to the table had cigarette burn holes in it - a room that is supposed to be a non-smoking room. The beds were low and small. You could tell they were about 25 years old. Everything had a look to it like it had a film on it from lack of cleaning. I will not check into this hotel again! read more

On August 19, 2019 My spouse drowned in this pool and later passed away. We believed that this pool was only 4ft-5ft deep. There is no indication, caution or warning that this pool actually goes up to 8ft deep. Anyone or any families checking into this hotel in the future please be aware.No life guard on duty! Best hotel ever when my family moved down here thats were we stayed comfy beds its not nasty

My husband and I stayed here for the hot rod power tour 2019. Amanda from the front desk was great. We originally had a room booked in eden nc but some how our room was cancelled so we were worried that we would not find a room on so short notice. I called and spoke to Amanda who told me that she had 1 room available and we were able to book. Was very relieved that we got a room. The room was nice a little dated but was a nice bed and the breakfast buffet was good. read more

Stayed here for work. When we checked in, our rooms were not only not clean, but had several bloodstains on our sheets and comforters. In addition, the floors were sticky with some kind of residue. The shower and bathroom tiles were black with something and everything felt like it hadn't been cleaned in a year or two. After telling the front desk, they apologized and cleaned the room. My coworkers and I, who were in three separate rooms, all had the same experience. The breakfast is fine and was more of a highlight for us this week. Plan on getting to breakfast with plenty of time, as it took them quite a while to cook everything. read more

My friend and I have been meeting here for lunch for years ~ it's halfway between her home and mine. The lunch buffet is terrific, plenty of variety, and everything is fresh and well cooked. There is soup, salad fixings, several vegetables, at least two entrees which change daily and a station with a special of the day: maybe roast beef, maybe turkey, maybe a stir fry. Everything is good but the mashed potatoes are the best ~ we usually go back for seconds instead of dessert. Everyone is friendly, the service is fine, the price is right ($7.99 for the lunch buffet). It's not the Ritz but for what it is, it's excellent: a good lunch at a good price. If you're sailing down Rt. 220, do stop in! Just watch for the windmill on the roof. read more

While it has gone down over they years (it used to be quite fancy) the food is still good and there is plenty of it. The price is a little steep when compared to other places in the area and so for me it is not worth fighting the crowd (if there is one) but once inside I left full and content. read more
