We only stayed here one night on our way somewhere else. I would only recommend staying here if you have no choice. The hotel staff was friendly enough, but the hotel was old and dirty. The carpets were dirty, the sheets were so worn out you could see through them, the towels were so old they felt like sandpaper, the furniture was dirty. The refrigerator did not work. The breakfast was so sad. The fruit was oranges and apples, the yogurt and milk were in a cooler that did not work. I brought this to the server's attention and they just looked at it and walked away. The orange juice tasted like water. Our deadbolt on our door did not work and the side and back doors did not lock to the outside. Very Very unsafe. read more

I seriously don't know how this place is still in business. Aside from the cheap rate, I'm not seeing any quality here! The place is dark and dingy. Our room is disgusting and dirty - blood stain on the bedding, dust everywhere, hole in the bathroom door, the list could go on and on! We chose it for the price and location but I would seriously rather stay at the Holiday Inn Express across the road regardless of the price. If it weren't so late, and we weren't so tired, that's exactly what would have happened tonight. Can't wait to see their "quality breakfast buffet" tomorrow morning.... read more

This was the worse place I ever stayed at. I was told that I could check in early and was never told I would have to pay a fee. The lady at the front desk charged me $35.00 to check in at 10 am. The hotel is very old and outdated. The manager was rude. Just a whole bad experience period. I would not recommend this place ever. read more

Simple stay for one night. Clean rooms desk personnel are nice... And it was quiet. For $82 out the door vs $155 across the street at the Holiday Inn and Suites? You can use the money saved for something else. read more

Used to stay here all the time until my cancer pain medicine was stolen from my room. Had to file a report. Reached out to the management. They acted stupid and suspicious about it. Beware. I'll never stay there again and would advise anyone else to stay away. read more

The best part is the psychedelic pool. It was really something and I loved it. The lobby is a weird jumble of a hidden, wood dance floor, a heated pool (yes in the lobby) and the closed restaurant that serves a horrible breakfast. It was clean and the bedroom was quiet. We were by an entrance and didn't hear any noise. After hours of driving towards Albequeque, NM, I was stoked to have an "indoor" pool down the hall from my room. I padded down to the pool and at night there's a great Pink Floyd-esque light show that changed colors while swimming. There's a hot tub hidden by lattice, against a two story picture window that faces the mountains, but at night it's all glowing in there. Best damn experience for road weary hallucinations. Definitely plan on going out for breakfast, it's not good, at all. Usually, these "free" breakfasts aren't the best, but palatable, but no way jose on this one. The room was decent, clean and comfortable. The price was average, but since it had the awesome lighted pool experience, I found it worth it. Enjoy! read more

Warning! Bed bugs! I was severley bitten on my back and legs at this hotel. The room was dirty and musty, and the management was rude.

This motel was convenient to the interstate, quiet on a busy night and clean. Free breakfast was excellent in a large restaurant dining area. Although we didn't use it, there is a beautiful indoor pool. We enjoyed our visit to Trinidad!! read more

Stayed here for multiple night. Very helpful and friendly staff, clean rooms & great location. Easy on/off Rt 25, close to all shopping, shops, gas & food. Beautiful pool and hot tub (with amazing view of the mountains!), great free breakfast and bonus that dogs are welcome! For those coming to CO, this is also a 420 friendly hotel. While the rooms are spacious, we had reserved a room with a king size bed and got a room with 2 double beds instead. There were almost no amenities what so ever. The attitude of the staff seriously offset the comfort of this hotel in a very negative way. Next time I'll pay extra to stay somewhere else. read more

We selected two rooms. One was a king, the other a double. Our reservations were made through Booking.com in July 2016 and Booking.com confirmed they sent the reservation and this location had seen the reservation 3 times. We called earlier today on 9/3/16 to confirm our reservation with the desk clerk and had no issues. We called again at nightfall to ask the location of the hotel and again confirm our reservation. No issues. When we pull up to the hotel to check in after getting up at 6 AM and travelling several hours, helping our family set up a camp site and doing some light hiking and other camping activities, we were really looking forward to a shower and a nice bed. Unfortunately, that didn't happen at this Quality Inn because somehow between when we confirmed our reservation and when we showed up to check-in our rooms were sold/the reservation was conveniently not found in the system. It's Labor Day weekend and every single hotel in Trinidad,CO is booked. We even tried Walsenberg. Nope. At 9:30PM my family has to drive all the way back to Aurora,CO for 3.5 hours. Just got home at 1:35AM. It's 2AM as I write this review, I'm so angry and I have been up for 20 hours. Did they sell our rooms for a higher price because it's Labor Day weekend? What is the point of making reservations then? Isn't that kind of the point? I don't know that we will ever stay at a Quality Inn or an affiliate or recommend to anyone because we have no guarantee we'll even get to stay there which is SUPER unfortunate because it looked like a nice place to stay. read more

We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was pretty nice stay. The only thing that I didn't like was that the refrigerator was turned off and had to be turned on by a maintenance person. It never got cold enough so I didn't want to eat the food we brought for our lunches. Even though it didn't work well, when I asked for help with the fridge, they sent someone right away. So at least they cared. The beds weren't very comfortable but we only stayed there two nights. I loved that it had an indoor pool that my kids could go swimming even though it was cold outside and the Jacuzzi was nice and hot. My husband who has bad knees, really enjoyed it! The breakfast was average but it was edible. The waffles were awesome! Overall we had a good time, the staff were very nice and helpful and the place was very clean. I would stay there again next time we come through here. read more

Stayed from 7/21 - 7/24 and had an excellent stay. However they allowed the authorization on my debit card to expire and didn't finalize it until a hotel audit on 12/5, which overdrew my bank account. I understand the need to charge for the stay, but it should be finalized upon checkout or a few days after, not 4 months later. read more

I actually really like this hotel..... Save the pillows!!! The staff are amazingly kind, the rooms are clean and huge, but those pillows have got to go! They are 1/2 the size of a standard pillow, like 15" square. Why oh whhhyyyyy? To be fair this is happening in other hotels now too. I don't see the logic behind the mini pillow. read more

On a stormy, windy, rainy night this place looked like a better choice than driving up the Raton Pass. It's a large cavernous place that has seen better days. In the lobby there is a closed cafe, a closed bar, a large open space, a swimming pool and a hot tub. All under a high roof. The original A/C in the room didn't work so there was a portable A/C that was vented into the balcony walkway. The room had two doors that opened onto two different hallways. Everything was old but clean. The room was comfortable, The pool and hot tub were clean. The free breakfast was standard. Like the old saying goes "Any port in a storm". read more

I can't understand why the Quality home office doesn't take their name off of this property. The place really needs to be torn down and replaced. It was probably a nice place in the early '80s. I assume that its name will soon be changed to the Trinidad Motor Inn, as that would be more appropriate. read more

Last night (12/7/14)my son and I stayed at the Quality Inn in Trinidad, CO (3125 Toupal Drive). This is a location we had stayed at several times in the past three years. However this will be our last. We were put in room 110, a room which the heater and air conditioning unit was apparently not working. A PORTABLE heating unit and a separate PORTABLE air conditioning unit had been placed in the room. That was not low rent enough in it's self. However the straw that broke the camels back was when a ROACH ran across my sons bed twice while he was working on his ipad (we finally killed the ROACH by removing the box springs and mattress to locate it). If you check my past history with your company, you can see that I sent a good 7-8 years traveling with my work and staying at your Choice Hotel facilities. This hotel should NOT carry one of your designations. I've stayed in your Econolodge locations that were superior to this location!! Night staff was Very friendly & helpful!!! read more

I arrived in the wee hours of the morning. The man at the front desk was exceptionally nice and gave me a discount as it was late so I wouldn't have to look for a new hotel. The microwave would not stop ticking so he came and promptly fixed it. He put me on a list so that I would supposedly not be bothered by housekeeping in the morning. Additionally I put a 'do not disturb' tab in my door. The next morning housekeeping is banging on my door yelling "housekeeping". So I yelled back, "I already got an extension to stay till 12:30". Some time later I hear more banging on the door and someone was messing with the door knob. I tried to ignore it. After about 15 minutes I wanted to make sure someone wasn't trying to break in, so I get out of bed to see what's going on. I see three maintenance workers outside and they yell that they are trying to fix the lock. I yell that I will be leaving at 12:30. When I exit at the agreed upon time I see an Indian woman in the lobby glaring at me. I'm guessing that she may have been the housekeeper that didn't get to go home as early as she wanted. From my experience, with the exception of the front desk, the workers are just rude and inconsiderate. I paid good money to stay in that hotel room and I did not deserve to be woken up because someone decided at that time that they had work to do. Also, cars parked right outside my window. I had the choice of using the blackout curtains so there was no natural light in the morning or leaving the curtains open so that many people going to their cars could see inside my room. I chose to to close the curtains, but it would have been nice to have some natural light. Mainly though, I had a bad experience because of the inconsiderateness of housekeeping and maintenance workers. read more
