I'm pretty sure the Quality Inn is the only chain hotel in Three Rivers, right at the foothills of Sequoia National Park, with everything else being small, privately owned boutique spots. I booked this place purely because it wasn't sold out--there were literally no other options available. It was definitely overpriced at $250 a night for a two-star hotel, but since I booked last-minute, that's just how it goes. Overall, though, it was fine and I really have no complaints. It was extremely hot during our August trip, so having cold water, coffee, and tea available in the lobby was a great touch. The beds were surprisingly comfortable, too. Since it's an older Quality Inn, the wall AC unit was very loud and kept turning on and off throughout the night, which made it a bit hard to sleep, also the ceiling fan definitely helped with cooling off the room. They also have a lovely little souvenir section, along with snacks and ice cream right in the lobby, which was convenient. The complimentary morning breakfast did the job--it's actually pretty decent if you stick to the boiled eggs, yogurt, toast and bagels. Having electric vehicle charging stations was a nice bonus and the small pool and jacuzzi were great after a long day in the park. read more

I'm giving my review at two, but I have to say the clerk that checked us in and took care of us was very nice. I didn't feel rushed. I didn't feel like he wasn't listening to. He was really doing his job as far as the service of the hotel and the quality of our room that was not very good at all we were switched rooms twice we didn't even get to settle into our room until about 12:30 at night. The pool had a lot of bugs in it. The hot tub wasn't working , the first room we had the sheets were so dirty. Everything was filthy. I wasn't completely sure but I think we had a tampon string in the sofa bed, popcorn kernels, and just dirt on the floor along the walls The clerk then moved us to another room in that room. The electrical in the bathroom was not good. It was like strob light show by in the restroom and it just I honestly thought the room could've caught fire or something. We moved into the last room the cleanliness of the room the floor was really dirty. There was stuff you know in the bathroom on the floor, but we were just so tired. I was traveling with three boys so we just stayed. The hallways were really dirty. I was really disappointed in the breakfast area and the pictures. It looks really nice but when you get there, it's the smallest space. I will say that one of the clerks that helped me in the morning was very nice, but I did leave my review to them about the housekeeping. They could do a way better job like that's terrible but because we needed a sleep, we stayed, the bed in the last room we were in looked ok we had to check out and drive a full day so it would have been too much to just up and move to another hotel read more

I made an overnight reservation moths ago for an accessible room. Drive up from LA and get to the hotel to find out they didn't have an accessible room or even a shower chair for a regular room. This is very unacceptable. And while the desk clerk was professional she wasn't very empathetic and was rather cold and nonchalant to my predicament. I'm a Gold Choice Hotel member and am very disappointed with what happened. I realize it's not a 5* property but it shouldn't make reservations for rooms that apparently aren't available. My family and I attended a convention from December 14th thru Sunday December 17th of 2023. We were greeted by a very friendly staff who even gave us a ground floor room. Our room was clean, and very spacious since it was the weekend there was normal noise during after hours but nothing crazy or wild. The continental breakfast was good and everything was fully stocked. Orange Juice, Apple Juice along with yogurt and various pastries and bagels were present. They had biscuits and gravy along with eggs and sausage plus they had a waffle bar where you can make your own waffles. All in all the weekend staff was attentive and friendly. If we ever pass by Tulare again we will be sure to stay here. read more

This was the cheapest hotel we found and we wish we had just paid $10 or $20 more for another one. The service was friendly and responsive, but the overall experience was sub par. When we got to our room, the cleanliness lacked which is very concerning amid covid 19. The remote control had dirty smudges on it that wiped off with my finger, and the towels had some small stains. Additionally, the smoke detector was wrapped in a plastic bag like someone was smoking in here prior and wrapped it to keep it from going off. There was supposed to be breakfast included but due to C-19 it was going to be individually wrapped items, however, the entire breakfast spread consisted of one whole grain pop-tart (I didn't know they made whole grain ones) at 7:45 am. In reviewing previous photos by others, it seems to be the same torn curtain from 2 years ago. Ceiling over window appear to have some type of water damage. Remote control missing back cover. Outside of hotel appears nice, which is miss leading. Ice machine leaking water. The day of leaving the toilet plugged. Also, the day of leaving a New guest entered our room using their key card. An additional room was rented for a family member and their toilet also plugged. There wasn't a phone in room to call desk. A complaint was made and they left a toilet plunger outside of the room door without informing them that is was there. No one offer to fix the problem. This place should be renamed Less Quality Inn. I stay at Quality Inn Hotels around the state of california, and this one is very disappointing. I booked three days at this hotel. When I came back to my room after being out all day, I found all the beding including sheets on the floor. This morning I went down to get the free breakfast. The orange juice was watered down so I tried the coffee which was not coffee at all. It was colored water with no coffee taste. The scrambled eggs had way too much salt so they were inedible. So I will not be eating the free breakfast. But finding no bedding on the bed and the bedding on the floor has never happened to me before. Some other guests were at the guest as they just checked in and their rooms were filthy and uncleaned. I called Choice Hotels to let them know about this. I do not recommend this hotel. Motel Six at least cleans the rooms. read more

I cannot even give this drug house one star. I'm extremely upset and disappointed. I wish I had read the reviews before our stay. People said the same things I saw. Number one, this place is NOT safe. It is like a crack house. The lobby teaks of marijuana. Despite being a smoke free hotel, my pillows smell like cigarettes. We booked a two room suite. The picture showed living room with fireplace. No fireplace, the pull out couch remakes of garbage literally. The tv in the bedroom had no cable box or remote. When complained to desk they could t help me. The box in living room is just laying on top of tv hanging off edge. The furniture looks like thrift store . The light fixture and fan are hanging from ceiling out. The whole hotel smells like garbage and pot. When we went down to get bedding for pull out couch the front desk person could not be found. People that lived here were looking all over for her. They. Are the ones who gave us bedding!! They actually LIVE here. It looks like many do. People were hanging out of 3rd story windows watching people. Party going on in front of entrance. To top it off, a guy was lurking in the stair well that did not appear to be a guest! I felt very unsafe by now but we could not find another hotel at midnight. Then we woke up to someone not a guest, appeared Homeless and was sleeping in lounge and pool. Then appeared to take a syringe and shoot up with drugs! He started jerking around etc. the elevator is broken and we are on the 3rd floor. I am turning the place in and getting my money back. Awful place to stay. Unfortunately I have to put a star which it doesn't deserve one. I was maybe there an 1 hour or so. The place smelled, people hanging out on the side or the hotel. I was in my room the furniture was maybe from a 2nd hand shop, the office chair was very dirty, the toilet seat was cracked, the microwave was very old and had a cigarette burn on it, the bedspread had 2 holes from a cigarette that fell on it, the remote control without the back cover, it smelled like weed. I'm sitting on the bed and got bitten on my back, foot and my butt. I packed my things and went to another hotel. I don't not recommend this place to stay. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and I am a traveler that uses only Choice Hotels due to me working for Choice. Upon arrival, first thing I noticed was that the pillows and sheets were stained in more than one area, The sofa chair was beaten in, and the smell of the hotel was very unwelcoming. As we were laying down to get some sleep at about 11pm, there was a kid running up and down screaming through the hallway and the parents were laughing. I tried calling the front desk but there was no answer and this continues for about 45 minutes. The pillow might have been the worst pillow I have ever tried sleeping with, it felt like a sweater was balled up and put into the pillow case. Slept maybe 4 hours at most. In the morning we came out for breakfast to get hot water for tea and the hot water was discolored and had black stuff floating around. There was nothing pleasant about this hotel. The staff didn't seem to care about late hour noise. Out of 30 Choice Hotels I have stayed at, the lowest rating I have given was 2 stars but this hotel deserves zero if that option was available. This is a comfortable low-cost hotel, but only if you don't pay top dollar. If you walk out of here paying 2 or $300 per night, you will be disappointed. Room was comfortable, but appointments are dated. Wi-Fi was a problem, but the night Hotel desk clerk did her best to find a solution. Small to pool and hot tub. Very noisy air conditioning. But, the air conditioning did work. Room temperature went from hot to ice box in less than 2 minutes. Convenient location. Starbucks right across the street. The hotel for the most part was decent. Especially if you're not planning on spending most of your time there. Pros: They had a complimentary breakfast which was nice. Only thing was that it was the same thing everyday. They keep the rooms really cold and they also have DirectTv. They have plug-in wall freshener. I don't know if that's a pro or con?! I liked the smell.. I just don't like that fact that it was a plug-in Cons: The sink was outside of the bathroom. The light near the sink was a sensor and would always go off. We ended up having the open the closet door the block the sensor. The closet door was hard to close as it kept getting stuck. Lots of running around in the hallways and on the third floor (we stayed on the second floor). Also there was is one spot on the floor when ever you would walk on it it sounded like you were stomping. Staff: When you deal with them in person they are very polite. Very unsanitary all the pillows looks yellow inside. Mattress looks nasty. They can't even do the mattress cover right, so it keeps getting loose at night. Towels bring your own. This is my 2nd review for this hotel. Our company put us up in the hotel for another week. Sylvia was amazing! We got in late and she got us a room and everything we needed. Everyday when we saw her she said hi and remembered us by name!! It was so refreshing to have someone so sweet acknowledge us and treat us so well. Our company has a choice of a couple of places and we are so glad they chose this one. We will make this our home away from home anytime we come into town. read more

The room and bed are average like Motel 6, I expected a little better quality. I had to unplug the phone next to the bed because it kept making a crackle noise on the speaker. When I went to make coffee this morning the tray was missing where you put the coffee pod. I don't really know where to start.... I didn't expect much but I was at least hoping my bed would be clean. It wasn't. There was stains and makeup and a beetle in the sheets... There was also two disgusting pillows without cases left on the chair...Moved to new room, that bed was dirty too that one had food caked on the sheets... the door also looks like someone broke into it previously because it had huge dents in the door by the top lock...room #3 blanket is still sketch but at least the sheets look clean... guy gave me a new top blanket. The only saving grace is the front desk guy is really cool but seriously if it wasn't for him being accommodating I would be demanding a refund. None of the phones work.... This hotel was a horrible experience. We were in Tulare for my uncles funeral and had to get a room quickly. We got into town early, so we asked to check in early (which they had a too ready, yay). The YAY stopped THERE. we got in our room, and the air didn't work. It was hot outside the hotel and it was even hotter inside the room. The electronics didn't work, there was no phone. When we got ready to leave, we told the front desk about it all, she said she would take care of it. We got back from the funeral (which was all day) to the air still not working. Went to the front desk where we were rudely greeted by a guy who just stood there staring at us. When we approached him about our room he said "she took care of it, it works". We told him it didn't and we would like a new room. He said rudely "I figured you would say that" and threw a different room key at us. The air worked in that one, but not much else did. The lights flickered on and off all night, the fridge was gross, and much more. We were then awakened at 7:00 am to someone opening up our door. Thankfully we had kept the bathroom door open else they would have come in the room. I then went to get breakfast and it was gross. The food was disgusting. The biscuits were harder than a rock, the gravy smelled gross, the apple juice had a weird taste and just gross. Not what I expected. We then checked out and was rudely met by "what is your name". I am extremely disappointed and regret the business I have given them. I honestly want my money back and a call from the company. read more

The only reason this place is getting a star is because I have to put one on. Let's start with the environment. Upon arrival there was abandoned cars in the parking lot. The front desk clerk was a sweet young lady. We got our room and went to it. This is where it gets worse. The room was a sauna. So I checked the unit and made sure it was turned to the coldest setting and it never cooled off. It actually made the room humid. So we called the front desk. She let us know the place was full and no room to move us to. So the next day we tried to contact the manager. No response. It has been four days and a couple of calls and still no response. Okay so I've read all the reviews and this is what I think. First, let me say I've 200 days at the Fairfield and 120 days at the Best Western here in Tulare. The Best Western is a great place because it has a bar. Now having said that the Quality Inn rooms are the same quality of rooms. The Quality has bigger rooms its clean and they have done upgrades to the place. You can not beat the price why pay more for the same. I wish I had stayed here first. My work takes me all over this world and I've stayed lots of hotel chains. This is a good hotel to say and I would recommend it if you are here for a long stay. Keep in mind I'm here for work, not a holiday. The pool area is huge so if you're tight on a budget and have kids then this is the place. It also in walking distance to the outlet mall and other places to eat. read more

I will start with the positive. Our room was "ready" when we checked in. And that's where it ends. After check in we went to meet my newborn niece; and spent a lovely afternoon with family. Upon arrival after a long day, our room keys no longer worked; back down to the lobby. Once we made it back to our room, just walking across the floor was iffy; felt and sounded like we were going to fall through to the 2nd floor. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and squeaked like a per hour whore house. After a sleepless night, showering seemed like the next best thing to do and wouldn't you know it, no shower curtain in sight. Another trip to the lobby...at least they have "breakfast". My wife and I recently spent a Saturday night here: The Good: The price - $85. The room - clean, spacious and well arranged. The location - convenient to the freeway and shopping. The Bad: The bed - really old, soft and lumpy. The breakfast - aside from the sausage and eggs, everything else was stale and tasteless. And the small breakfast area was dirty and unattended by a hotel employee. The Ugly: The maids' carts parked in the hallway. Aside from making the hallway unnecessarily narrow, it is simply unprofessional. Management needs to find an out-of-sight place to park the carts when not in use. The Bottom Line: Probably won't be back again anytime soon. We expect better -- even for $85. read more

Went there last Saturday and it was very disappointing. The room was ok, but the ac makes so much noise. The 2 queen beds are very little. The pool was so dirty we couldn't even see the bottom. We paid to stay 2 nights but the first was a nightmare so we decide to come home earlier. The ac didn't let anyone sleep and when we finally did they had a wake up call at 5am schedule for our room that obviously we didn't ask for. When I went to talk to the front desk about it she said it was very unlike that they made a mistake. Anyways, it's a 2 or the most 3 start hotel. I read the reviews on here before booking my room And was still skeptical thinking maybe I had made a mistake in booking at this hotel. I got here and the place looked decent on the outside although much nicer in pictures. Check in was quick and easy plus encountered the front desk employee to be very nice. To my surprise, the room was much more spacious than I thought it would be. Enough space for my toddler to play. One desk with lamp, a sofa chair, king bed, TV with free cable, free wifi, a mini fridge, microwave, and mini coffee maker. I feel that more toiletries could've been left on the counter because it's barely enough for one person but it's no big deal. I saw many people complained about the cleanliness but I didn't find it to be dirty. Let's keep in mind that this is not a four star hotel, and like any hotel it's going to have its wear and tare over time. One lamp in my room wouldn't turn on, and there are scuff marks in the bathroom. I can also tell there are spots that were fixed throughout time. Like I said, it's not a bother to me. If it were I would've just gone to the Hampton hotel down the street and paid $300 more than I did here. My thing is comfort. I didn't plan on staying at the hotel all day during my stay so I'm not so picky. The only things I will complain about is this: on my second day I left early morning and when I got back in the afternoon I was rushing to the room because my potty training toddler needed to use the restroom and my key cards did not work. I had to go back downstairs to get them activated again. I read someone review about something like this happening so now I'm wondering if it's common. That's about it. And because of those small things I gave the hotel 4 stars. Forgot to mention that the hotel has complimentary breakfast. I didn't feel like waiting this morning when I left. It starts at 6am and ends at 9am but there are only three or four tables inside and two outside. When I walked downstairs the little place a bit crowded so I decided to eat out instead. Reserved 3 rooms to attend a funeral. Traveled 13 hrs away and verified room info night prior, day prior, and about 20 mins from arrival to what was a horrible stay throughout. - The room rugs smelled moldy - wasted half a day to be moved to a different room that smelled bad but was decent with Lysol spray and cleaning supplies at my expense - all towels throughout stay were stained, - no cable box provided or installed - wifi couldn't connect on the 2nd floor right under the front desk so son had to do homework after hours when tending to family - trash was not picked up in morning so we took it out ourselves - ice machine in entire hotel didn't work - beds we booked is not what we received, 2 rooms with king bed and pull out bed was booked but no pull out bed in room so kids slept on air bed we had to buy - curtains looked like they were slashed with a knife, not normal wear and tear - - left messages for manager Blanca to return call on 3 different days with no response - tried to resolve issues with manager before checkout a day early with no response. I had to call back constantly for 3 days. Veronica answered and yelled at me to inform me of credit. When tried to verify information she hung up on me three times and now the number goes straight to a fax - the hotel printed my invoice. When I contacted corporate I requested my final bill and they charged me 3 extra days after I left in which the hotel reimbursed me for 2 days but didn't inform me. I didn't know until the corporate company sent me their invoice. - contacted corporate, choice hotels, and stayed on phone for 2 hrs to be given guidance that I will receive email within 24 hours in regards to an accommodation. Never received email. They do not handle the billing side because they are a franchise so they said we had to either contact the hotel...which goes straight to voicemail, or dispute with my credit card company. Corporate doesn't handle billing but they have access to the invoice. I don't understand that concept. This is a horrible hotel to stay at. Traveling 13 hours to wait an hour for 3 rooms at 9 pm to waste all this time dealing with their crap while dealing with a death in the family. Will definitely not stay at a Quality Inn ever again which was rated 3.5 stars and will pass the information to anyone that asks. We arrived at 9 pm and it took 1 hour to get settled into rooms.
