I had a nice stay for a few days up here for business. The staff was very friendly and the property was kept clean and the rooms were updated, which is always nice. My first room I noticed that the AC unit was leaking water or something on the floor, I let the front desk know and they moved me right away, actually to an upgraded larger room, which was nice. I typically always stay at Hampton's while traveling, it is a nice hotel and has good value. They offer free parking as well as free breakfast daily at a decent price. They are clean, safe and comfortable. My room was a king with a fold out couch. It also had a bar area and sink. The rooms always have a microwave, coffee maker and fridge which is great for your stay. This location has a pool and a gym as well. I did not get a pic of the pool, but I did get pics of the gym. The gym is small, but works, but the reason this location is getting 4 stars and not 5 is they were missing many of their dumbbells, I made it work, but they did not have any that were over 35 pounds. I typically try to pick a hotel that has a nice gym and I was disappointed a bit with this one, but I think they could easily improve this and get 5 stars next time. If they added a Precor weight machine, then it would be a no brainer. If you are traveling and need a nice clean, comfortable spot that does not break the bank, I would recommend this location. SAT night check in for 1 night Ok... I got in late so [ was not able to do my normal in depth review. I give this location 4 stars based just in the staff alone. Cory at PM FA was awesome...made me feel a home at check in and offered to move me after the breaker tripped. I turned it down since I was already unpacked. The morning FA and Food attendant greeted me. Very welcoming. Room 104 They loose 1 star due the rhe circuit breaker tripping when I was microwaving my dinner and plugged in my laptop. The shower took a really long time to get hot water almost 3 minutes. When you turn off the shower it took about 6 seconds before the water stopped and the the shower spit up a litle. read more

Big spacious suite . Big enough for my daughter & my granddaughter to play . The bed was so comfortable my granddaughter slept like a queen. Would definitely book again. I had a good experience here no issues with hotel staff. It is not that far from the the tulare outlets and has a shopping center in front of it. it is about 15 minutes away from Visalia.From what I saw lots of people staying at the hotel were going to national forest or were working in the area. I will say lobby area is very put together you can hang out in or work in. It did have a strong floral scent I personal loved it but can see it being a con for others . Some cons the floors and thin, such an odd thing the say. But lots of foot steeps late in the night and early morning. The room did have a musk old smell but it went away when the AC turned on. The bedding did not have a smell so I am assuming it is the age of the hotel. The room is huge! I was so surprised , a 3rd bed could be added or if you bring an air mattress it looks like it will fit. The showers were nice and Hot which is rare in hotels now. Breakfast here 10/10 there was variety of hot meal eggs , sausage sandwich and bacon. Variety of milk , yogurt and cereal. The room was quite spacious and the staff were all friendly. Free wifi even if you're not a Hilton Honors member. We made the booking online in advance and there were no issues at checkin. The check in experience was great, the evening shift employee was friendly, however I wasn't too fond of this hotel. The Yelp photos were misleading as it said it was "renovated," however once on site the wifi dropped multiple times; confirmed on different devices, wasn't able to do work. The room had a musty odor, as if it were an outdated room with just a flat screen television as the update. It took at least 5 minutes to get hot water from the faucet, I'd have to leave the water running in the sink in order for the shower to kick in. The gym had no towels, seemed neglected. I checked-in via Hilton app so I already had a key, but I always wanted a key card. The person at the front desk was nice and helpful. The pool is open and the gym is closed. Due to Covid there is no more self-serve tea, coffee, or water. You can always ask the front desk though. One of the reasons I love staying at a Hampton Inn is because of the breakfast. It's really not anything super great, but I enjoy it. The freshly made waffles, fresh fruit, fresh juice. I just want to be able to experience that. With Covid, that can't happen anymore. To substitute this they offer to-go breakfast that you pick up at the front desk. The brown breakfast bag consists of bottled water, fruit, and some bars. I'm so bummed, but what can you do? I stayed in a one king-bed room. It was probably the most awkwardly-placed-furniture-spaced-out room I have stayed in. Really, there was so much space for two people to be in. The bed, table, bathroom, closet were clean. There was a "kitchenette" where the one cup coffee maker, fridge, and microwave are, but with a sick as well. Another plus! My only thing that gives me pause is the location of the property because of the people who wander around night. At night there was a man sitting on an empty parking space and it was clear to say he was from the area. Also, when I left for the day there was a patrol car driving through the parking lot. I haven't seen that in any hotel I have stayed at. With that said there are also businesses right across the street if you might have forgotten to pack anything. There's a Vallarta and Denny's. I have been staying here since February on work related travel we started off with ten crew members staying here they slowly left due to inadequate rooms showers not working correctly, ac not working correctly, dirty rooms. I stayed here until may finally had enough the house keeping at this Hilton hotel is by far the worst I have ever seen I stay out of town in hotels for most of the year for my career. The sink was broken and sprayed me on the day I scheduled job interviews which I was then late for. My bf found a cockroach the first night. Don't be fooled by the nice lobby..because that too isn't sanitized or disinfected or even wiped down. Entered the lobby to check-in and there was a sign stating the person was in the kitchen preparing breakfast and if needed - go through the barn doors to find them. So I did....twice...but saw no one. Another customer pulled up and was also waiting in line to check-in. When I walked out of the room for the second time the clerk finally came around the corner and asked me " Can I ask why are you in there?" The man in line told him that's where the sign said to go and I also said the same. He said that was the wrong sign and removes it then continued to check us in. My travel partner is a diamond member and usually Hilton hands him a treat bag or offers water. Ian did neither. I felt like he could have provided a little better service as I was only following the sign that was posted because we were tired of waiting. The room was clean and spacious. Due to Covid they are offering bagged breakfast in the morning from 7-9am and if we miss that they have coffee. The area has a few restaurants to choose from. BED BUGS !!!! My husband and his friend had two rooms #210 and #213. They stayed there two nights beginning November 6, 2023. Unfortunately we sat my husband's luggage on our bed to unpack it. This review is based on my experience, because everybody's experience will always be different. Stayed in this hotel to be able to attend a family party and I thought my experience went amazing. While there were some things that could have been different to make it great it wasn't a big deal. My personal opinions: Customer service was great. Everyone I interacted with was friendly. Checking in, we were able to check in early so this was a big relief. We do understand this might not be the same occasion next time since it's going based on room availability. I booked 2 rooms and both rooms were pretty spacious and clean. Having amenities and a microwave available is a big plus. The only suggestion I would have to say it would have been nice to have an extra roll of toilet paper available. I went the next day to the front counter to ask for one, so no biggie. There is plenty of parking and it's free. If it looks empty during the day don't let that fool you, because at night it can get pretty crowded. This hotel provides free breakfast. It provides the breakfast basics, but good enough to get something in your tummy. The only thing I feel some guests would appreciate is if the people that are eating would get a heads up or last call before closing the doors for breakfast. Because let me tell you guys they close exactly at 10 am on the dot. The gym is pretty small, but for the people that want to get there workout done will get it don't no matter what. The pool is also pretty small. Nothing that would attract a bunch of adults, but it's perfect for the entertainment for kids. Having some type of privacy from the public would have been amazing. Hampton Inn & Suites- Tulare California This is a good place to stay when visiting California's Central Valley. It's pretty close to Fresno, without the congestion. Main freeway is Hwy 99 which is pretty smooth sailing overall, though not as "quick" as Interstate 5 when traversing the long tall State Of California. The hotel is on the Hilton chain of hotels. So this might be a good way to gain stay points at a reduced nightly rate. I got on the popular AAA club rate. Parking is free and plentiful. The lobby is smallish but nice. The lobby consists of a reception desk, a coffee/ tea station, and opens to a lounging area and dining area for the free breakfast. The entire desk and lounge area appeared to be very clean, bright, and the furniture and decor was in newish condition and up to date with style. While I would not call the hotel "elegant" ....it's okay because it's not meant to be. Rather, this is a perfect place for business travelers, vacationing family, and overnight stays. Clean and casual and inexpensive! Location is good. There are a couple of strip malls nearby so walking to dining options is easy. Every major chain restaurant and retail giant is within a ten min drive. The desk clerk was super welcoming, cheerful and professional. Check in was a breeze. Distance to "schlep" luggage from the car to the elevator was quite easy. And once you get your room key, you can park around back and use your room key to enter the rear door which is closer to the elevators than through the main doors. The room was great! It was good sized, had a full sized desk, mini fridge, window ledge style A/C with wall controls, good sized TV, free cable, separate restroom (of course). The bed and bedding were quite good! The pillows varied in density, allowing you to pick your favorites. That was cool. The room appeared clean and fresh with updated furnishings. Comfort level was about as good as it gets! Overall I would give the hotel 4 out of 5 stars! So one wonky thing that I'll say right here is NOT the reason for not rating 5 stars...but is just kinda...well, I'll go ahead and say it... Hilton / Hampton Tulare management- "What in the great wide world were you thinking?? Putting a coffee maker in the bathroom??" So yeah, you get a pretty spacious and comfortable room at a clean looking hotel. As many hotels do, the room had a small coffee/ tea station complete with condiments. But....it was in the...bathroom?? Wha? In case you want something hot to drink while you go potty?? So what's the hassle? Just move the coffee maker into the main room when you brew your coffee, right?? Ehhh- not so fast... So I get this isn't billed as a "food service " hotel, so maybe...just maybe they have not heard of "molecule dispersion" in food safety class. You know, it's that thing that the fellas (Adam and Jamie) demonstrated on Mythbusters? Yeah, like how most of the world stores toothbrushes at the "bathroom sink" or close by. And when someone poops, the actual airborne particles of poop travel evenly throughout the space, including onto toothbrushes? Ewwwww! Now it's a widely known "thing" but let's face it. When it's YOUR toothbrush or that of your family, and it's your family using the bathroom, we just sort of go about our lives and ignore it! But....ahhhh- what about staying at the Hampton Tulare where hundreds, maybe thousands of poop filled guests have been evacuating in the VERY SAME tiny bathroom where the coffee maker is stored??! Ewwwwww!! How about a HOT FRESH cup of....???? I get it, I get it. Who uses in-room coffee makers anyway, right? Just don't use the dang thing. Easy right? Well- for me it's more how the hotel views guest health than anything. If they set up your coffee maker in the bathroom, where do they cook your "free breakfast?" Get the idea? How about seeing a "chef" walk out of a restroom with a PB&J on a silver platter and sets it front of you with a flourish and "Bon appettit!" Could you eat?? Should you eat it? See what I mean? Dear Hampton Tulare- please consider setting up your coffee makers elsewhere in the room. A nightstand, dresser, in-room desk. One of the BEST stays I've had in a long time in Tulare! Was in town for a wedding and during arrival was greeted by such a great staff! Everyone from the kitchen buffet lady to the maids were all surprisingly happy, and friendly. The place is cleaned and has a blow dryer. Beds well made and the room was so nice with our name and welcome message on the Tv as we entered. Has a pool, and free Wi-Fi. Like many other travelers, I chose this property because it is under the Hilton brand umbrella. Check-in was quick, the nighttime desk clerk was friendly. That was where the good experience ended. My room smelled stale and musty. The bathroom lightbulb needed replacing. It kept turning on and off repeatedly. The ac was so very loud and clearly in need of maintenance. The bedding was NOT CLEAN. The room was dusty. The carpet was dirty. The shower walls were not clean. The TV remote was dirty. The drawers in the kitchenette area were dirty. There was no one available to help with all of this because that friendly nighttime clerk I mentioned was the only person on duty. The hotel was fully booked so there were no rooms available to switch to. It was late so I figured I would deal with it in the morning. Well, here I am, at home, still dealing with it. So if you want to roll the dice on your hotel stay and have the added aggravation of spending your free time emailing and calling Hilton and the Hampton to get some or all of your money back - this is the place. From the moment I walked in to my original room (room 310) I could tell it was very old and outdated. It smelled horrible like a gym or strong mildew. There were multiple long strands of black hair in my bed beneath the comforter. I can only assume/hope they belonged to the housekeeping crew, but that's still gross. Around 1:30 am I had teenagers in the room next to mine making all kinds of noise. I was there on a work project and had an early start the next day. I called the front the desk, they called the room. The noise died down for about 3 minutes and then started right up again. I asked to be switched to another room, I packed all my things went to the lobby, was given another room (225). When entering room 225 at around 1:50 am I noticed the entire air conditioning unit was removed and sitting in the middle of the room. I went back down to the lobby and asked to be switched AGAIN. The final room I ended up in (after 2am) was 223. It smelled strongly of smoke/cigarettes. I was so tired I didnt care and went to sleep. This was by far the worst experience I've had at a Hilton chain hotel. Highly recommend finding a different hotel to stay in when visiting Tulare. read more

This spot is making a poor attempt at bringing back customers during a pandemic where hotel patronage has fallen off a cliff. We weren't told till check in that the "excellent" rated breakfast on booking.com would be in "to-go bags". The bathroom wasn't clean and had hair around it. The floors weren't vaccumed, I found I was picking up long hairs from the floor on my feet. The bed flat sheet had holes in it and the comforter had stains on it. We stayed at this Hampton because it was close to porterville. The check in was lightning fast. The check in was Saturday 02/22/2020. The nice blonde hair gal was awesome. She was very nice and fast. We checked into our room which was amazing. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I have never had a bad stay at the Hampton. The next morning, we all dived into the breakfast which is included. Great selection of hot and cold food. I went to town on the patty sausage and eggs. I stayed here from Los ángeles and was back and forth searching for a good clean hotel. The pictures on google or Yelp aren't completely accurate when some show old ones. The hotel is completely modern and great. The lobby is big and very modern with tables and tv and a place to grab yourself tea or coffee. Super clean! The gym is nice and the pool is small but nice. The hallways are hot but the rooms are cozy and nice. Big bathrooms in the room. I did see a marker stain on the comforter and a slight spill on the side on side bed table to that's why i gave one less star. Breakfast starts at 7-10 is they have a big variety from eggs, oatmeal,cereal,waffles, toast, and juices. Super clean as well, and the people are very attentive. I was hesitant and now leaving an honest review that this place is a great hotel for the money and better then others around. Relatively clean. One of the ends was missing sheets, a couple towels were dirty, and for some reason I found both phones unplugged upon arriving. At the reception, Anthony was very helpful, however Randy was pretty useless and just watching the basketball games instead of offering to help guests. My recent visit was so much better compared to my last visit. Upon checking in, there were yummy cookies set out. I had three! They were so good...totally guilty. But this review is not for the cookies. The service that was provided to me on this visit was excellent. I was checked in quickly and was given two bottles of water and also asked if I would like a snack. I chose a chocolate bar and found I was given two in my bag when I got to the room. Two bars + two water bottles. Sweet. The room is nice. It has a sitting area and a fridge and microwave. My room was clean and I felt relaxed. The breakfast had a nice spread, accommodating for those who want waffles and bacon, all the way to those who would want pressed green juice, yogurt and fruit. At night they offer freshed baked cookies. My only complaint was the gym, which was the size of a walk in closest and only had one elliptical, 2 treadmills, and some free weights. THIS HOTEL IS DISHONEST! Don't believe them. We made a reservation specifically asking for a bathtub. We need a tub. The gal who made the reservation in the afternoon said, "Yes, we have tubs" and that she booked us into a room with a tub. This was just 4 hours before arrival. We checked in and went to the room...no tub. We immediately left the room touching nothing. When we went downstairs to the VERY rude evening clerk, he commented that "this hotel doesn't have bathtubs." I know they have to have ADA rooms with bathtubs so he lied. We checked out without touching the room and he refused to refund our $. We drove on and stayed at the Hampton in Bakersfield...with an ADA room with a tub. Mind you we have Hilton honors Gold status and our rooms are supposed to be 100% satisfaction. I have called the hotel and manager has yet to respond. I called Hilton Honors and complained and they reached out, but as yet the manager has not responded. VERY APPALLING!!!! read more

As a HHonors Diamond member, for the past ten years, I stay at a Hilton property typically at least once per week, but this is the first time I've felt the need to write a review. I had 3 rooms booked, but a colleague of mine who I'd booked the room for had to take a last minute flight back to Florida to deal with a family emergency. Unfortunately in the rush, we didn't call to cancel his particular room (my colleague and I still had 2 rooms and stayed that night.). The employee checking us in was helpful , and told is she would check with her manager whether I would be charged for the room. The manager on duty, couldn't even come out to speak to us directly but basically sent the receptionist back with a message, that we would be charged. She didn't seem to care that it had been due to a family emergency out of our control or take into account that I literally spend thousands of dollars with Hilton each year, and was totally unsympathetic. The follow up with Hilton customer services has also been extremely disappointing. Charged $232 for a deposit. Most I've ever had for a deposit hold. All others are typically $50-$100 or so. Smell of manure from the town over, obviously not the hotels fault but something to note. Breakfast is horrible honestly. Front desk staff is friendly but when I asked about the massive hold they told me one was a hold and the other was a room charge. I said impossible I prepaid and they said no you didn't and debated with me until I showed them the charge on my credit card and the email confirming the price I paid. Then magically they figured it out. After I left they charged an additional $.29 to my card in addition to what I paid already. Thankfully a negligent amount but the fact that they charged anything at all is absolutely ridiculous. I cannot fathom where an additional .29 came from. Just beware as this hotel seems to do sketchy stuff with payments. The room itself was comfortable enough. read more
