This place is very clean, reasonable & service was excellent! I definitely will go back when I visit my sister!

Very disappointing. We didn't get the room type we reserved. No breakfast (free or otherwise). No gym. No fudge in the room. The walls are paper thing, so you hear all the noise in the hallway. Very high price here, compared to the other hotels in the area. But you get practically nothing for that high price. The Super 8 across the parking lot costs a third less. The rooms are very comparable. And at least you get free breakfast at the Super 8 read more

Despite the almost completed renovation we had a nice stay. The hotel is going to be beautiful and unique when finished. Our room was bright, clean and comfortable. I loved the smell of the papaya soap and hair product. I do suggest upgrading the towels and washcloth. The pool area is very nice. It too was bright and there were lots of seating and activities to do. The restaurant had good food and was convenient. My husband had fish and chips and said it was very good. The ribs he ordered the second night were not that good. I had the walleye special one night and the Cobb salad the second night and both were very good. I'm updating this review because at the end of the day the refund for the $250 fraudulent charge came through and all is well. I still wouldn't trust this Amy person, but the hotel is clean and beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. Getting past the manager's personality issues, the hotel offers a nice respite from a long drive and the Lumberjack restaurant is tasty, so I'll likely keep staying at this establishment and I wouldn't dissuade people from staying there... .just watch your credit card closely during Amy's watch. read more

I was pleasantly surprised! Cozy, 'up-north' decorated hotel, including the lobby, rooms, and pool areas. We arrived early & they allowed us to check-in an hour early, since the room was cleaned. Happy about that! The attached restaurant 'Lumberjack' was DELICIOUS for breakfast and dinner, has a small bar, & is open until 9 PM. Heated Pool/Hot tub & patio was open until 10:30 PM. The hotel also had a cute shopping area, with souvenir shirts & accessories & an attached Gas Station. In excellent proximity to many fast food restaurants, gas, small movie theater, Walmart, bowling, bars, & the highway. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be how noisy it was. The walls seemed very thin or not insulated, because I could hear conversations next door & children running up & down the hall at 11 PM with no parents around. Other than that, we will DEFINITELY be back when we go riding the trails again. read more

I like everything about this motel. Yet I wish they'd enforce no noise after midnight from customers in their rooms (some out in hallway). I never was able to sleep the one night there. So for me that is an issue. Yet the building itself I like as I have past good family memories. read more

Several issues here. Had bed bugs and management refused to help with cleaning/protecting my luggage. Then on a return trip they accused me of having a pet here last visit! And charged $250 for pet fee. I have a yellow lab that sheds like a fiend and I am often covered in his hair. Well apparently the cleaning staff found a circle of dog hair that proves there was a dog here. Now when I travel here I use this as my base and may not return for 3-4 days as I work at a local hospital. How could a dog last 3-4 days unattended in a hotel room? When I asked I was told "we saw what we saw". I said thank me for calling me a liar. I think it was retribution for the comps I asked for because of the bed bug situation. I have no other way to explain this horrible treatment! Run from this place. read more

Clean room, clean sheets. Hard to tell if shower was clean due to the speckled finish, but I think it was. Toilet flushed great. Shower worked great with lots of hot water. Mattress reasonably comfortable, pillows were a little hard. We didn't hear anyone in other rooms or in the hall. There were no instructions for the heating system, but we figured it out eventually. Microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, tv, hair dryer. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bar soap. Plenty of towels for two. Clean swimming pool and hot tub. Hot tub was the perfect temperature, hot but we didn't break out in a sweat after just five minutes. There were plenty of towels in the pool area. There was NO included breakfast, but we were given 25% off coupons for the adjoining Lumberjacks restaurant, and there is more than one nearby fast food chain that sells breakfast. read more

We always stay here every time we visit Mid-Michigan. This is one of the better Quality Inns we've ever seen, and we've seen quite a few. First, the staff has always been friendly and very greeting. The rooms are clean and quiet with a little bit of "Up North" decor. The bathrooms are a little too small though, but not a deal breaker--the door was kinda small moving through. Some rooms face the indoor pool and you can hear the noise from the youngsters playing in the pool, but the pool closes at 10 PM and is silent until 9 AM. We never had any issues with noise. Beds were clean and comfortable. The lobby is also a cozy gift shop that sells crafts, candles, and such.. and it is directly connected to Lumber Jack Food & Spirits (an excellent bar & restaurant!), and just down the hall is a convenience store/gas station where you can get all the snacks and alcohol you want. There is a Subway in there too. I also noticed quite a few large meeting rooms at the hotel too, which look like they'd be good to hold business events and such. A highlight of the hotel is the nice indoor pool. There's a large pool in an open area surrounded by many pub tables and other chairs and behind the pool is a hot tub. Sometimes I've seen the pool very busy and other times my husband and I had the entire pool and hot tub to ourselves for hours. One drawback is the hotel lacks a fitness center. If you would like to get some cardio or weightlifting in, you will have to go to the West Branch fitness center about 5 minutes into town for $6 per visit. We've been staying at this hotel for many years, and will continue to do so for as long as they keep the same great service at the decent prices. read more

Lobby seems nice but the rooms are outdated. Carpet is nasty, walls are thin and drunk people running around and yelling from 10pm-3am. The pool acts as an amphitheater so you can hear anyone lightly talking through the balcony of your room. Definitely not a "quality" inn. read more

Never stayed here before, we have eaten at the adjoining restaurant lumber jack several times and love that place and gift shop, cute stuff !!! Very happy with our stay last night, nice staff and nice cozy decor and comfortable beds, easy call to reserve room and quick easy check in, G's pizzeria in town was very accommodating and open for customers looking to sit at the bar and eat after 3 months of carry out only orders. read more

Very disappointed. Very small hot tub and not up to temperature!! Not as hot as bath water also not very clean . This hotel needs some big updates and it seems to be neglected. Pool area needs major updates and the hotel is not equipped for disabilities. The laundry elevator is what they say is to use for elderly or disabled which is very hard to use with pul down door and then had steps that you need to step down once you get off. This could be a nice hotel but again needs major updating and a better filter in the hot tub it's disgusting and so small everyone is close to touching no room. read more

This is really the only chain hotel option in the area. Unfortunately, the owners know this and charge accordingly. I am not sure I have ever paid $140 for a Quality Inn before. The rooms are clean, but hotel is pretty basic and outdated. The cute woodsy decor is neat, but does not compensate for an average motel-style sleep. There is NO FREE BREAKFAST, which is disappointing for the price you pay. Pool area is nice, but busy and loud on a Friday night when we were there. Lots of large groups drinking and partying. If it were not for the convenience of location, I would not have chosen this property. read more

Stayed overnight before a business meeting. Front desk staff very friendly. The entire hotel and attached restaurant are decorated with a "up north hunting " theme so stuffed moose and bear everywhere. Standard hotel romm, comfortable bed. The problem was the clanking pipes and weird noise above the bathroom. Woke me up several times. The attached restaurant is good and gives a discount to hotel guests. read more

Great value. Room and bathroom were both very clean and comfortable. Room overlooked the pool. Quiet on a weekday and was great for a quick corporate trip. A/c made a weird clicking noise that sounded like the door was opening, so I was a little unnerved for the first hour until I got used to it. I'd bring my family back to this hotel if we needed to stay in the area. Also in close proximity to the outlet mall, which was nice too. read more

We got stranded during a winter snowstorm due to car trouble and the gentleman (manager) at the front desk was so nice and friendly and went above and beyond to help us. This hotel is clean and the service is good. The prices were good for what you get. They have a hunting lodge feel going on. You feel like you are out of the city and out in the great white north. The pool area was nice and it's indoors. The bar and restaurant was very nice with reasonable prices and while the food was not gourmet, it hit the spot. Rustic and homey. In the dead of winter, if you get a room on the first floor with access to the huge pool, hot tub, and activity room, then you will feel like you have a piece of summer! Connected to a great restaurant and convenience store. Close to wonderful outlet mall shopping. I stayed at this hotel on a business trip and was quite satisfied with the staff and the facility. Unfortunately, after checking out I noticed a charge for $1.50 plus tax for "Safe w/ltd Warranty". This charge wasn't listed when I booked the room nor was it mentioned during check-in. I called and was told that it was a standard charge but an immediate offer was made to refund the charge. Refunded or not, this type of nickel and dime charge strikes me as a pretty underhanded business practice designed to squeeze a few extra dollars out of unsuspecting travelers. In spite of all this hotel has to offer, I cannot again stay at a hotel that engages in such practices. read more

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Had items taken from my room and when I confronted the management at the front desk they wanted to blame everyone but their staff. Well the item was in my room before the cleaning lady entered and gone after she left. You think they would have credited a couple nights stay seeing we stayed there for 6 nights. Very dissatisfied.
