Had Mike come out to cover up a window…read more Honestly the thought of getting rid of a window never crossed my mind and we initially thought we would would move our window from one wall to another to open up the living room space since we have a living room layout that is a bit awkward. He came in with the idea of just covering up the window (especially since a window can be installed later if we wanted). Instead of making it a bigger profit job he focused on what is best for the layout even if it meant the job was smaller. The conversations with Mike have been very thought provoking and really made me focus on what is best for us rather than him just doing what I thought we wanted. We asked about a skylight for the bathroom since both our bathrooms don't have windows and he said he wouldn't as its the number one cause of leaks so he once again showed that he cared to make sure we are after peace of mind. So we ended up just covering up one window to move our entertainment center. He hired a drywall contractor (one with 42 years of experience) to make sure the wall looked seamless. Mike said you can do most of the job yourself pretty easy but the Dry Wall part is a work of art and it showed. I had a unique idea that since this was an exterior wall I wanted to build a PVC shoot for cabling for future proofing a TV hanging on the wall in case we had to change cables. The drywall contractor made it look so clean. Initially it was a 1 day drywall job but because it was cold the mud wouldn't set in time so they came back the following day to make sure it was done right. Truly couldn't be happier with the quality of labor. Mike's scheduling might be a little random at times but rest assured the quality is superb.

I reached out to a number of companies, but Mike spent the most time with me on the phone, talked through all options, which one he thought was the best one and why. He wasn't the cheapest quote, but the slider he recommended was the highest quality out of all the other quotes, and with something I use multiple times a day, it seemed worth the investment. While the slider itself is amazing, the best part of the investment was the attention to detail and care Mike had for install- I have a 1920s home with original wood trim work, but in the addition where the slider is located, they put up standard white 80s trim. My plan has been to transition the addition over to the same feel as the rest of the house, so Mike custom stained the one I ordered to match what was already in the house, then took the time to trim it out in the same Craftsman style for a cohesive look. Install day was super easy, the team made sure everything stayed clean, and dealt with some surprises and challenges with the uneven walls of an old home. This is someone you can trust and will make sure they care for your own home like it's their own. When it's time for new windows, I'll absolutely have them come back out.

My 8 ft., chimney was in bad condition, the roof…read morenever should have been put on before chimney repair but they do not walk the roof and they do not care. I have water going down the chimney in the attic and the ceiling in family rm damaged. A new roof and a $7,500.00 chimney repair that will be done on top of a brand new roof. I will know soon if the flashing is leaking, they put sealant over shingles to flashing on an 8 ft chimney, that may not even be to code. I am reading that if the flashing is done properly sealant is not needed. But, John Fox will fix that he'll peel the sealant off the shingles, so new shingles aren't needed either. Either way, crown or flashing issue, they are negligent for not walking the roof. The mason will have to do the job 2X on a brand new shingles. The mason was trying to work with ORS to repair the entire chimney, remove the flashing that is 15 inches high, band aid over a bad chimney, to repair the entire chimney properly, but no cooperation from ORS. Also, in the beginning, John Fox attempted to double dip on me on a couple of things, I am a senior citizen. The gutter guard was one, now I have areas that look like Niagara Falls, I want a refund, guess what John Fox said now? I didn't pay for the gutter guard, I have the Invoice. I had an Inspection, John Fox down played all the issues, stating OPINION, OPINION, OPINION. John Fox was also verbally demeaning and belittling to me, possibly abusive. He said he can put this into the BBB, and he knows people down there, and they know people like you, can't satisfy them. PLEASE NOTE: This was about the Inspection issues, nothing to do with the customer!? In 2025, I requested a different rep from the business, Mike Fox came out, then I never heard back from him. I sent a 30 day, Oct. 2025, then it was winter, I sent the Inspection in Spring, John Fox while talking on the phone about the Inspection and yes I was angry that he was down playing everything, he told me I was combative at the beginning, I asked for examples, I have not received that list of, he doesn't have any examples! They Breached the contract, I should have white drip edge porch, I pointed that out and he said "WE CAN'T" cut a piece that small, LIE! They breached the contract, now "we can't!" They are also breaching their warranty, they are not honoring it! Their business model should be, "WE DO NOT CARE AND WE CAN'T!" ORS! When I see reviews, roof looks nice, I would give 5 stars but I had to bend over once to clean up so 4 stars. How about getting an Inspection to really help people when they read your review. You can not say ORS did a great job until you had it inspected, because you have no idea! My house has water damage inside and out and Ohio Roofing and Siding has not arranged to meet with me on how they are going to take care of the issues. The mason was waiting and willing to work with them to repair the entire chimney. Also, 2 years ago I leveled out the brick walkway, ORS did not protect it, now you can feel the unevenness and dips, when you walk on it. I pointed that out to John Fox, you never get a correct customer service response, like we will take care of that, you get nothing! Not even a grunt! I also had to hear, the last day they were going to paint the gutters but then didn't, "no matter what we do, you won't be happy." WHAT!? I was not consulted on the big shinny black flashing or the black strip porch above shingles, I said something on those two things and that was 0% effort by John Fox not communicating with the customer. I feel I put up with verbal harassment also, I even asked for a different representative in 2025, not John Fox the owner. What is sad for a customer, if you have a warranty and a business doesn't care and are not honoring their warranty, you are between a rock and a hard place. This experience with ORS and with pics! The worst business I have ever dealt with! BBB rating A+!? BEWARE!

They put tar on gap from porch to stop leak.Last fall a squirrel pushed up soffit which was not properly attached and got into attic. My repair roofer said roof installation was poor ,not up to code and the tar led to siding damage and soffit was totally not installed right leading to leaking and easy squirrel entry.

I should have cancelled the project when they came out FIVE times to measure for windows by several different people. I thought they were being thorough but it actually meant they had NO IDEA how to measure. Well now we've spent months arguing with them about the windows not being the appropriate size because after they installed them, my siding DID NOT fit. They are literally off by 1-2 inches. The project manager's explanation was that "sometimes that happens" which was utter BS because I'm quite confident he knew he messed up royally and didn't want to have to deal with it. He said they would not replace all the windows. We had another contractor come out and pull the window apart and basically said it was wrong and he measured them all wrong. I even questioned him during the installation when two of the windows were grossly undersized and they didn't nail one side of the windows to the house, so he used spray foam to fill in the gap and drilled screws through the side of the frame and said that's how you fix it. They also did a horrific job of installing an exterior door which they came back and fixed. Well they came and replaced those two windows. Josh had them to agree to fix 13 more but we are over it & i dont need mis-matched windows all over. So we decided we would just have to reside the entire house because it's hurricane season and I've got siding loose around every window. We consulted an attorney who we can't afford, with 3k retainer and 300 an hour (and an unknown amount of hours it would take) and their home office is in Ohio so we'd have to probably get another attorney in Ohio for that with no guarantee we'd ever see any money from them for their epic failure. To top it off it's a Veteran Owned Company who totally screwed over two veterans. So lesson learned and do NOT recommend Freedom Roofing Windows and Siding out of New Bern NC for any jobs!
