Some contractors on Yelp are only wrapping the jobs of other contractors with a markup. Not this one. Delfino is quite nice and accommodating. He is always responsive for new requests. I wanted to change one room from the drop ceiling to dry wall. Delfino's proposal is quite reasonable. And once agreed, he was able to put a team with electrical works, drywall, paining and garbage collections. I really like the way they work, more about quality instead of speed. I hired Delfino to rebuild my master shower and he could not have done a worse job. I wish you could leave 0 stars! Here are the highlights: - He was only willing to do the floor pan and tile, no glass as he noted that he had dropped the glass the last time he had done it, resulting in extra costs and injury to himself. - He added extra costs after the price had been negotiated. Fixtures were not included in his estimate (surprise)! - He tried to get us to use the cheapest tile possible when meeting him to pick out materials. - He tried to pressure me into purchasing various remodels he noted working on, and made several inappropriate comments in front of my wife. This guy gets way too comfortable quickly and runs his mouth. - He tried to request full payment in cash up front (shady), without spending a penny on materials! - He showed up on day one expecting that I had bought detailed parts only he would know he needed. As a result, he spent half of the first day chasing down parts (the shower valve). - He dropped the glass from my old shower all over the sidewalk and street in front of my house on demo day. I had to spend time repeatedly to clean this up to avoid injury to my dogs. - His guys banged things on the walls of my house as they carried things out on demo day, and stacked various things against the walls in my master bedroom as they worked (large tile pieces, bags of dusty grout, etc.). They will use whatever they see fit in your house as a workbench as they work. - His guys destroyed the grass in a section of the front yard where they did all the tile cutting. Additionally, sprayed dirty water all over my freshly painted house as well. Be prepared for lots of cleanup and repair with Poor Quality Painting and Remodeling. - Delfino is not open to ANY feedback or input throughout the process. As you watch him or his guys do things that are completely inconsistent with industry norms / standards or perform poor quality work, he will simply ask that you wait until the job is done to see how it turns out. When you do give feedback (after telling him you had high expectations at the start), he will engage in a shouting match with you and tell you he shouldn't have taken the job because he's not going to make any money. Just $5k profit in 5 days.. - Now for the work... The quality of work on the shower was absolute bottom of the barrel. From cutting straight lines in the tile, to building up the hard pack for the floor pan and creating areas that pool, to the curbs for the floor pan not being level, to not using spacers at ALL when tiling the walls and creating uneven and inconsistent spacing, to leaving jagged edges in the niche wall inserts and crooked inlay tiles inside of them, to not properly cleaning the grout, and doing a terrible job refinishing the ceiling above the shower that was damaged during demo. It was far beyond sloppy and completely unacceptable work. It was so bad that I had zero confidence that it would hold water. And it didn't.. - After spending months cleaning up as much of the poor work as I could and having a glass company install two large glass panels, I could finally shower. The FIRST time it was used, tile at the top of the shower cracked, due to not being spaced properly (as noted above - no spacers used). - Between 1 and 2 weeks after using the shower, the grout on the front curb on the floor pan began leaching thinset mortar, then water started dripping from it. The shower is an absolute nightmare and needs to be completely gutted due to sheer incompetence. - Delfino rushed out of my house on the last day and I have not heard from him since despite sending several messages describing the incredibly poor workmanship and complete failure of the shower. Not before snapping pictures from 10-15 feet away that would make it appear that the work was done well, but hiding all of the horrific details. - Conveniently, Delfino never noted that his BUSINESS LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED in July 2023. Just before he started work on my shower.. - Delfino will talk a good game, but he subcontracts the work to people that don't have a clue what they're doing, and the end-product will be terrible and need to be redone. He'll negotiate in cash with you, then leave you with no recourse when he does you dirty. He's a total fraud and these other reviews are laughable and probably paid for. These guys are awesome. I'd highly recommend them for a painting job. I bought a house three years ago and the external painting clearly needed some help. So I sent out a bunch of inquiries. That's how I got to talk to Delfino. Delfino was responsive to our initial request for a quote as well as subsequent communication throughout the project. We talked about all the items that needed to be done, and I made a written list of it at the end. After agreeing on the price, Delfino's team showed up and got to work right away. They completed the trim replacement and painting we needed but has a wide variety of other contracting skills, so they helped with a few other things we've been meaning to do (eg, replacing rotting deck planks). I was particularly excited that they took down unused phone lines, which has been driving me crazy. We liked these guys so much that we recommended them to our neighbor who had hired a team of painters that totally botched up the job. Delfino eventually took over that project as well and finished it in a superb fashion (according to our neighbor). So yeah, hire these guys with confidence. read more

We hired Delfino and his team to perform most of the work of a small full bathroom remodel. The work included a demo of the existing tile, tub, and vanity, some minor updates to the exposed plumbing (replaced old exposed plumbing to pex), and installation of new tub, tile, and vanity. We did the design work ourselves, so all of the hardware was at the house and ready to go once our project began. Delfino's team covered most of the installation materials needed to get the job done. We took a chance with Delifno's team knowing that there were not too many reviews related to major bathroom or kitchen renovations for his business, but we were on a tight budget, and Delifno's quote for the work was not only competitive but it was much lower than 3-4 other businesses that we had checked out. We had also just welcomed the birth of our 2nd child, so Delfino's 1-2 week timeline to do the job was very attractive to us. In the end, we are very happy with the result, and very grateful to Delfino and his team for getting the job done. But to be fair, it didn't come without a few headaches that I will explain below. Delifno and his team I think are still working out the kinks in their remodel business and I am confident over time his business will only get better with more experience. Let's start with the positives: - Delfinos team was on budget and on time with their 1-2 week estimate. This was a big factor in the 4 star result because many contractors fail to stay on budget... and they almost never stay on schedule... Delifno did both! - His team just does the job, not too much chit chat. I personally really appreciate this, it bothers me alot when workers want to tell me their whole life story - this job was right in the middle of the pandemic. Most of his team wore masks as they entered and exited our house which we very much appreciated. His team was also mostly clean in that they would use paper to protect our floors and would sweep up before they left. Now the unfortunate negatives: - There were a number of small details that went missed. For one, our tub is not quite level. At first I didnt notice this because it is an old house and I know the ceiling isn't level, so after the tile was installed and it was clear that the top and bottom grout line got bigger from left to right, I assumed it was due to the uneven ceiling, but later after the project was complete, I used a full sized level and realized the tub is also not plumb... the tub still functions and the water doesn't pool up or anything, but just something that probably should have been caught. The toilet was also installed slightly "clocked"... so when looking straight at it, it is rotated just a bit. Finally, Delfino and his team thankfully addressed an issue related to the original drain being slightly off center, however he kept the faucet and shower head on the right side of the 2x4. This caused the drain, faucet and shower head to be misaligned. this would have been an easy fix to just switch it over to the left side fo the stud, but it was just missed, and it was too late once the tile went in. - Another big mistake was his tile guy may have not mixed the grout correctly. Once the tile was installed, the grout began to flake off to the point where holes were becoming noticeable inside the grout lines. To fix I had to spend days painting sealer into the grout lines while being extra careful to not damage the new tile. The longer story to this is Delfino wanted me to pick up the grout because he was concerned his team would select the wrong color. I picked up the most expensive grout cement I could buy that claimed to not require a sealer , but in retrospect perhaps I should have purchased a pre-mixed grout. I had a kitchen remodel done for me a few years ago and none of this was an issue, so this is something that probably needs to get cleaned up with his business. Oh and by the way, the tile guy installed one of the tiles in our soap niche backwards :) so kinks in their inexperience was definitely showing a bit. - Finally, after the project was complete, a few days later I noticed water had pooled up inside our newly installed vanity. The vanity was a bit damaged on the inside, but thankfully I caught it in time before much damage could be done on the outside. At this point, I hired an outside plumber to fix. The plumber told me the gaskets that come with the vanities don't always work well, so he installed some plumbers putty to fix. I then was immediately worried about the tub drain, but after monitoring for the past couple months, it appears as though the tub drain is good. In the end, I think we got what we paid for. They are a young aspiring business looking to grow, and we were customers that were willing to accept a few headaches to get a good deal, so for those reasons I think 4 stars is an adequate review for the work they did. So this past summer, we wanted to get it painted and got different quotes. When Delfino came out to take a look, I had a good feeling about him. While others may not see that as priority and would not have bothered to deal with it, Delfino seems to be a man of his word and values our satisfaction. This review is long overdue. We had hired NW Paint and Remodeling initially last summer to do drywall repair and painting after a scheduled asbestos abatement for a popcorn ceiling with another contractor. Halfway through the asbestos abatement process we realized that our ceiling abatement would be much more extensive, requiring the demo of all of our ceilings. In the end Delfino and his team ended up installing new drywall ceilings throughout the house. He also was extremely helpful in connecting us with other subs for electrical and insulation work that needed to happen. We really appreciated his quick communication, professionalism and willingness to help us out on such short notice and during a pandemic. I also had some tight deadline and wanted to get the job done earlier and Delfino was able to make the arrangement work by getting more people involved. The texture was close to what the original wall texture. If I could it would be 3.5 stars or borderline 4. We took up Delfino to originally do our flooring, bathroom remodel, popcorn removal and some electrical for adding some recess lighting. Couple days in, we were able to discuss and add on additional. There was some early communication issues for our project to be started as initially was told early May then end of May and finally kicked off 5/13. Job completed; -laminate flooring was updated on our main floor including 3 bedrooms, living room and kitchen (820sq ft) -recess lighting with updating some switches -walls and ceiling painted with popcorn removal in 3 of the bedrooms -baseboard replaced on the main floor -5 doors and a before replaced with new handles. -bathroom remodel with heated floors, installing new toilet, vanity, light and fixture and updating and creating storage from a previous cabinet with drywall and shelves This job took 4 weeks but seems like maybe could have been done in 3? The bathroom started a week late due to heated floors and didn't get completed til the last day. Delfino was reachable whenever we had questions or accommodating our little request we had throughout or didn't hesitate to ask or reach out to us if need an answer from us. Living in our basement so we saw the daily progress and There were a few occasion I had to reach out. The Baseboards were done exceptionally for the 2 bedrooms and one room looked like a lazy effort with no miter cut but that was addressed and resolved. Our shower was only turning less than 1/4 with no hot water and that was resolved as it now turn 1/2 along with hot water. A couple doors were installed swinging the opposite direction unsure if that was intentional or mistaken but it seems to be more efficient now but our basement door is unbalanced as it doesn't sit in place needing to be stopped by a stopper. Floor strip wasn't placed back having the space exposed between the basement carpet and new flooring. During the bathroom grout and tiling, that water was dump onto recently new sod installed and on the bark. My wife had requested if our medicine cabinet could be installed recessed but got the feeling it seem like too much effort. And our biggest disappointment was our bathroom remodel being unable to install the shower door. This was our main project, the shower doors were talked at initial consult, material was on site from day 1 then to be told on the last day that he doesn't install and would maybe try to find someone to do so because of past bad experience. We are content with the results and appreciate Delfino and his team for getting the job done. We got what we paid for. He stayed within the estimate/contract. Would have given 5 stars if our bathroom would have been finished with the shower door install and the extra attention to detail. Wish his business the best. read more

Fabulous basement renovation after a huge flood which forced us to tear out all of the carpet, the padding beneath, the lower portion of the drywall plus all of the trim. Delfino's team was so kind and professional and put it all back together beautifully even fixing the crack in our foundation and rerouting the drainage system to ensure it never floods again!
