Absolute example of arrogance, and stupidity, mixed in with a tad splash of lack of customer service.
As a former service manager, and top ranked in customer satisfaction with a large dealer for over 3 years...read..#1 in the country for years, prior to getting out of the business, I rely on suggesstions at times for things like inspections, tires, etc.
As my local guy was closed, I took the suggestion from a family member who works nearby.
I took my girlfriends vehicle in for a tire rotation, balance, and state inspection.
The counterperson kept attempting to write oil change on the ticket, and had to be stopped 3 times.
I was told to pick it up at 1:50, as they closed at 2.
Went over, picked it up, paid, and as soon as I got on the hiway home, at 45mph the shake was horrendous. Impossible to hold at 60.
I pulled over thinking perhaps they had forgotten to tighten the lugs, but no..they were on.
I tried to call back, to explain that it was Sat, no one was open on Sunday, and the vehicle was driven to Charlotte every day for her commute.
No answer.
Of course....
Took the vehicle to WalMart of all places, and while I am no fan of their style of automotive service, the department manager took it right back and I explained that the balance was as bad as I had seen, explained my background, and he allowed me to watch as they spun them up to see if it was a bad tire, or bad balance.
First off, wrong style weights were used.
With alloy rims, a coated style, with a particular lip to hold it is used. Standard lead uncoated steel rim weights had been slapped on.
Then, when checking the balance on the passenger side, the side I knew was the culprit for the massive shudder at speed and the steering wheel having a mind of its own, was out literally 7oz....they had put over 4oz directly opposite, or, on top of the spot that was out already....in addition to another .75 in the wrong location on the outer lip.
None of the 4 tires were properly balanced..
I paid them to complete the job, do the job that Quality was paid to do, and test drove it.
Problem solved. ....so I thought.
I took it home to clean it up for her before she had to go back to work on Monday...
I was simply appalled to find the light grey leather and other interior trim to have black greasy marks on it. The driver and passengers side sunvisors, on the back sides where you would put your hand to pull them down, the inside of the glove box, back passenger seat, and drivers headrest. I spoke to a former employee and he said this was a common complaint..as with inspections, they claim to have been looking for the registration.
The registration was placed on the center console, where told.
When washing it, found other grease spots..easy to see against black paint.
When I went back to see about a refund on the balance, the counter guy asked why, and my words were indeed, because you didnt do your job...this was after explaining the problem.
His attitude went from seeming he was annoyed to pure stupidity. He didnt lime being told the facts.
I asked to speak to, and I quote, tbe owner, as I am sure he comphrends English.
He was there, as was his son...who found it necessary to stand over me in an intimidating posture.
The owner and I were at a solution, when counter jock interjects, and while his words were correct, they were out of context.
At this point, after 15 minutes of dealing with one idiot, and then the owner, who was willing to work out a solution, I corrected the counterperson, who would not simply go away...
The owner son placed a hand on my shoulder, and suggessted in a very snarky way I get the fuck out...at this point, I gave up. I did tell the counter person he needed an attitude adhustment before someone else gave him one, and told Jon, the owners son, to piss up a rope and suck on the bitter end.
He took to replying on FB in the usual smartassed manner about the entire episode.
Looking back, I wish I had filmed the interactions, but Im old school and dont believe in such..but I do believe what we were taught during training years ago at the dealership:
A person who has a good experence with a business will tell on average, 4 people.
A person who has a bad experence will tell an average of 20.
If you are reading this to the end, then you are part of the 20 plus.
And as I had to block the sons owner on facebook, as Im sure he will read this, son...your threats mean little, and Im not hard to find..just look for the Ultra that parks across the street, and come have words with me..but bring the money you need to refund. read more
