This is a review for a sales experience from the point of view from someone who was negotiating a deal from another state. If you don't want to read the whole review I'll cut to the chase and tell you that my experience with Bob Peck (sales) and Jim Griggs (Finance) and Jami Harness (customer care) was smooth and excellent! For the long version I was looking for a Volvo model at the end of the year and there were not many choices left. My two local dealers either wanted a transfer fee or a significant down payment to try to find an intra dealer swap. I had already done my research and found the ideal at Quantrell. So I decided to cut out the middlemen and try and strike a deal directly. I found Jim to be helpful and competitive which was great. I later found that Jim has a lot of experience in sales and has probably been jerked around by potential buyers online. He would wait until the end of the day to send emails to me regarding our deal. A little frustrating but I get it. He's taking care of his local people first... It took about a week to work out an acceptable deal with a weekend pickup. There's always the possibility that things will change when you show up in person and the deal you discussed will vaporize when you show up (see my Kia review) but this wasn't the case at all. These guys do great business and keep their word. There were was even a hiccup on my end that they graciously accommodated. That did a great job after the sale going over the features on the car and offering their long term support too. I haven't purchased many cars but I can day this had been my best experience thus far! read more

This update is for the Volvo service department only. While my buying experience was the best I've in buying as vehicle, the service department leaves much to be desired. I have taken my Volvo in for regular maintenance and oil changes as per Volvo schedule. I noticed that the paint on my passenger's side door was peeling and had a friend who owns an auto body repair facility to look at the damage. He told me that the vehicle had been wrecked and repaired (previous to my buying it, obviously). I was disappointed that I had not been informed of this by anyone at Volvo, but being such a "reputable" company, I knew I could trust them to fix the vehicle. I called the service department and was told to bring the car in. I had to take it to the repair facility and was given a loaner vehicle do drive with the assurance my vehicle would be fixed and would look like it should. (Mind you, there were several areas on the passenger's side that were flaking paint). Weeks went by and I finally had to start calling every day. The (really nice and HONEST) secretary at the paint facility indicated there might be a problem with fixing my vehicle (remember, it's been in the shop for several weeks at this point). I informed her there would not be a problem and that I would forward the information on the damage to my family attorney. My vehicle was fixed within days, but only AFTER I spoke to several people at Quantrell Volvo and demanded to speak with the owner. Promises were made that the owner would call me back, that he personally wanted to apologize for the inconvenience and misunderstanding. Months later, I'm still waiting. I have had maintenance on the vehicle since then and every interaction seems strained and the staff is rude. Also, they confused their buyer records and filed MY information as another customer with a similar name. Now, a man whom I am NOT married to has my information and I'm listed as his wife. I'm also listed as the owner of a Subaru (I've NEVER owned a subaru) and I was emailed THEIR information. I called to express my concern about the security breach and requested that they update their record. Yet, I continue to receive Subaru emails AND I still have the OTHER female's middle initial. In addition, THE MALE is listed under some of my maintenance records. I called to make an appointment recently and was met with the same rude demeanor and have finally decided that I will no longer use Quantrell for ANY service-not to buy a vehicle, service a vehicle or any other effort on my part. I have had a MUCH nicer interaction with another company that maintains foreign autos and I'll be using them for my future needs. It's a shame that Quantrell doesn't have a better customer service etiquette AFTER the buy and that their record keeping is flawed to the point of being a security issue. But, you have options in Lexington and the surrounding area. I urge you, if you've had the same experiences, to look past Quantrell. read more

I rarely rate anything. But when I do.. I'm blatantly frank. The parts department at Quantrel sets the standard for integrity. They told me me something., then delivered, swiftly, at no cost to me. We took our Volvo in for work on the computer system. Two days after getting it back, we realized we were missing a windshield wiper arm on the driver's side! Called the dealership. They said they had broken it, a new one was being ordered. Took the car to them. Car was there from 8:30am-2:30pm. Wrong arm was ordered. They replaced with a used one temporarily until the new one comes in. I wonder: why did they not make us aware of the missing windshield wiper for safety reasons? Why didn't they go ahead and replace it with a used one temporarily so we would be safe? Why did we have to call them? They should have been on the phone to us!!!!! read more
