If you're here reading reviews, it might be because you just realized that they went out of business. They came HIGHLY recommended to me by good friends and I am very disappointed/upset. What upsets me the most is I think we were essentially lied to. Their contractor's license expired in May of '26. Their worker's comp policy was canceled in Mar '26. Their bond was canceled in Jun of '26. I had my panels installed in December of '25. I believe they knew in December that they were going out of business. You don't just decide overnight to let those licenses expire or cancel. That aside, I am having problems with my panels and had to get a new company out here and they are trying to figure out exactly what Quantum did. I won't go into the technical details, but it was not installed according to Tesla's recommendations. The Tesla rep on the phone was really surprised at how it was hooked up. I've had 3 visits from my new solar company and we still haven't nailed down the problem and we just figured out what they did... and have no idea why they did it that way. Lastly, when pulling up the solar panels we were greeted with all of the wire clipping and zip ties that were just thrown on the roof and hidden under the panels. Incredibly sloppy work and no attention to detail. Maybe the installers knew they weren't going to have a job in a couple months. Since there is no working phone or email, this is the avenue that I'm using to complain. We were all hung out to dry. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I developed a roof leak under my solar panels. My roofer determined it was due to poor installation, because they did not remove the tiles as per the contract, but simply stepped on them and broke many of them. I have called Quantum several times, as well as sent an email detailing the damage and showing proof with photos, and they have completely ignored my requests for a response. So I drove to the office today, and it is dark with nobody around, all signs gone, and allof their vehicles now vacated. I have a pending battery rebate application with SCE that requires immediate attention by Quantum because there is a deadline for Quantum to resolve the application issues. However, I've been unable to reach anyone by email or telephone for over a week. No-one responds to emails and when you contact them by phone, the vm just states that they are closed. I'm hoping this is a temporary situation. I will update this review if I hear back from someone at Quantum. read more

We spent several months researching and obtaining quotes for an updated solar system for our home, speaking with four different companies in total. One of them was Tesla, and the other three were local to Ventura County. The last company we met with was Quantum Solar. Dwaine, the owner, came to our house and took about an hour to thoroughly explain the entire setup we needed, as well as the reasons behind his recommendations. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable, but he was also a genuinely kind and honest person, clearly dedicated to providing the best service for his company. We also interacted with the office staff, who were all very organized and prompt in their communication. They handled the logistics seamlessly, ensuring everything moved forward smoothly. BEWARE! This company does not call you back. It took me several weeks for someone to finally send me an email, but that was the last time I heard from them. Even if you already have their solar panels installed and need additional maintenance or consultation, it does not seem that they will call you back. The receptionist is super nice, but I believe it would be an unnecessary risk to work with this company if this is how they treat people who've already bought their solar panels. If they are busy, it would be common courtesy to at least email back with a simple apology, but their representative Cathy Pina has not responded to my multiple emails or calls for weeks. Based on many of the other terrible reviews I've read about this operation, I would AVOID them like the plague. read more

When our solar system was originally installed, we had really good response and service from Quantum. However, as the years passed, they became less and less responsive. Now that we have roof leaks (again!), and I'm trying to get it repaired on the 10 year warranty they gave us, I just found out that they are out of business. Yesterday, I drove to the business address here in Camarillo, and all windows and doors are black, and no signage is showing. No wonder my emails and phone calls over the past two months have gone unanswered. read more

We researched many solar companies before choosing quantum and we are so glad we did! Both father and son are very knowledgeable, very professional, and very patient with all of our questions. Their install team arrived on time and completed the work in one day. We had 23 panels installed plus the Franklin battery so we will have power even in blackouts. Quantum underestimated my monthly energy use and provided a system well below what I needed. When I asked about the system, my response was that your system will be more than enough to cover your electric use. However, the past 5 years, I've had to pay SCE Thousands of Dollars at the end of my year use. It's been a big hassle because Quantum didn't listen to the customer and under estimated my yearly electric use. read more

Do not recommend. QSD designed our system against manufacturer recommendations by using significantly undersized microinverters (Enphase IQ7 vs. IQ7Plus). This results in a significantly decreased energy output estimated at 750kWh annually by Enphase in turn resulting in a significantly decreased value of the system. The decreased output is mentioned nowhere in the contract or any other documentation. Nameplate system size in the contract: 3.4kW. Actual peak output due to undersized microinveters: 2.4kW resulting in severe power output clipping and decreased annual production. Refused to do anything about this while producing misleading production estimates after the fact - after installation in May 2020. In addition: did not connect the system to WiFi for reporting. Very slow to respond to requests (phone or email). No estimated production numbers or any other metrics other than the nameplate system size in the contract or any other documentation. Summary: two major failures with a number of smaller ones: (1) did not follow manufacturer recommendations in using radically undersized microinverters; (2) did not disclose any estimated production numbers in the contract or any other documentation. P.S. I was initially ecstatic with QSD given they were highly recommended to us, and the fact that they could actually install a system where several competitors including Tesla, Solar Optimum, LA Solar Group - backed off for various reasons. Yet given the support experience, inexplicable design decisions resulting in very real monetary damage to us, and their multiple attempts to produce misleading production estimates - I can't recommend them. read more

This company is first class ! Dewaine came out within a few days to bid on my Enphase battery install. After seeing our solar panel install done by a different company a few years before, he outlined his plan to install the battery. Ours is a complex install because the panels are on a building 120 feet from where our main panel is. This proved to be a hurdle for the first company who eventually backed out of our contract. I was a total "helicopter homeowner" and they not only took my nosiness in stride they took the opportunity to explain what the different parts did in the scheme of things. Quantum gave me a reasonable quote and installed on the date that they originally suggested. The install was inspected by the county the next day and passed right away. On time, on budget and a quality install. They are really nice people too ! read more

Inspired by the two weird/oddball 1-star reviews, I need to put in my 2-cents. I really don't know what a stink pipe coming out of an old roof has to do with Quantum or solar panels in general, but that does NOT look like Quantum's work. As a real estate broker and avid DYI'er, I followed Quantum into my attic, onto my 2-story roof, and asked a lot of questions. I watched their workmanship and the materials they used. Let's put it simply: The team at Quantum is amazing and they do great work. Questions I had throughout the process were diligently answered -- and I had a lot. The initial meeting with Dwaine senior was beyond informative and I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. I had two other meetings with companies who seemed to have little knowledge. The installation team is friendly, prompt, and cares about your property. They even made multiple trips to Home Depot to make sure to touchup my conduit lines with the correct matching house paint (stucco is notoriously difficult to match). They also accommodated how I wanted to pay and were transparent with their pricing (cash, loan, etc.). Further, after the installation, I had an issue with the conduit lines blocking access to a certain part of my attic. The team at Quantum immediately took care of this concern free of charge and rearranged the line to accommodate me. Class acts!! Quantum will also sell pigeon netting. I did not choose to opt into this, and, sure enough, had pigeons start living in them. Fortunately, I used my drone to chase them away and annoy the heck out of them every time they tried to land again. They never came back. Due to medical issues this was our second attempt for a solar system. I can't say enough about Quantum's honesty not to go solar during that time. I received three other quotes and Quantum beat them all and gave me four extra panels for free. Brandon once again went over every little detail with my husband and not once made us feel like he was selling us anything. Every other company told us that solar would not work with our roof. Quantum proved them all wrong and angled our panels for maximum sun. Installation was extremely neat and clean with hidden wiring. I love the free monitoring on my cellphone. Special thanks to Tracy who kept us calm through the easy in-house financing. They handled Edison and the permit inspectors with zero issues. Solar was never an option for my neighbors until now. The owner came to my house and reviewed how many panels that were would need to bring our LADWP energy bill to zero. He explained the loan agreement and the rebate that the Federal Government offers. He explained every step in the process to my satisfaction. The owner was an expert in the field of electrical engineering. His team was professional and fast and they had our panels up in 2 days. I had several solar companies come over and I waste my time, Quantum Solar however was no pressure, explained all My options and once I decided to move forward completed the job faster than expected and went above and beyond to make sure I was pleased. They handled everything from permits to final inspection. I have 50 panels and a negative Edison bill every single month. I run my air and my pool and at 1pm my meter still spins backwards. This review is long overdue. I worked directly with Chris and he was exceptional. I had an issue with a leak in my roof under the Solar Panels which were installed about 2-years prior. Chris came out within 2-days of contacting him and had his team fix the issue in a timely and professional manner. They have provided the best service ever. We are extremely happy. They fixed a very bad solar installation by another Quantum company in Ventura. The team came out diagnosed the problem, proposed a solution and fixed the previous installer's mistake. The service was nothing but professional. I believe that the two previous complaints on Yelp was the result of the other Quantum company in Ventura. I would find it difficult to believe this was this Quantum Design company. An optimizer on one of my solar panels went bad shortly after my system was turned on. Worse, my original installer, SoCal Solar Energy, went out-of-business without warning right in the middle of coordinating a repair with them. However, the component manufacturer, SolarEdge, was very helpful and provided names of several local contractors for me to contact to replace the component under their warranty. One of them, Quantum Solar Designs, stood out for being very friendly, responsive and professional, from their front office person (Brandon) to their field techs (Anthony and Chris). In fact, three Quantum people showed up including the owner's son (also named Dewaine). These guys went overtime to make sure the component replacement worked despite the fixed labor reimbursement supplied by the component warranty. Dewaine was very knowledgable, communicative and personable. He also discussed the componentry of the PV solar systems that Quantum normally sells and installs - a premium, very high quality system. I just moved into a house and thought my solar system was not working correctly. Dewaine came out, analyzed my system and told me everything was working but a bigger system might be needed down the line. They had quoted a $125 service fee but Dewaine said no charge as he lived around the corner. These guys are great and look forward to working with them in the future. read more

Almost two years ago we had solar panels installed by Quantum Solar. They did everything exactly as they promised. They were efficient, prompt, and did a clean job. We had done a lot of research on the specific panels they use as well as the inverters. Their panels are top quality, as well as their installation. I was a bit skeptical about solar before I talked to Quantum. I had heard horror stories from friends about solar. As it turns out, those stories were concerning leasing and ppa programs. With Quantum, you actually own the panels. I was so excited when I learned this. They were happy to answer all of my questions. Very straight forward and honest. Every person I met at Quantum was completely professional, from canvasser to installer to sales rep. I was really impressed. I had trouble keeping up with the math, hence the four star review.
