We stopped in for lunch after looking at all of the options in the general vicinity. We weren't sure what to expect since the outside looks more like a house than an inn and restaurant. We were quickly seated, and the place was pretty full. It looked like a private event (bridal shower?) was happening outside. We both ordered the same things. The soup and salad option with the French onion upgrade and Caesar salad. The French onion was one of the best I have ever had. The broth was rich, the onions were plentiful, the cheese perfectly toasted, and the crouton the perfect foil. It was so good we ate it slowly and even drank the broth (I know that's uncouth, but it was so good and nobody knew us there) from the bowls. We even scraped off every single bit of the toasty cheese on the sides of the bowl. I would go there just for the soup. The salad was also good. A small portion since it was a combo option, but the dressing was excellent, there were large shreds of asiago cheese, and actual anchovies. The only complaint was that it wasn't a bigger salad. Again, left nothing on the plate. The soup and salad dish was $15 because of the upgrade for the French onion soup. The service was fantastic. The place has a rustic but elegant feel. Lots of wood. We visited this restaurant for the first time this past week and really loved it. Since we have three toddlers, we decided to order again for takeout and enjoy it at home. I called at 6:03 pm, but was told they were too busy to take a takeout order. When I asked about dining in, they said yes, dine-in was available, but takeout was not. That part felt a little confusing and disappointing from a customer service standpoint. We were hoping to be respectful by not bringing our little ones into the restaurant in the evening, but unfortunately takeout wasn't an option. The food is wonderful and we genuinely want to come back, but we also hope in the future the restaurant can find a way to accommodate both dine-in and takeout guests, even during the "busy times." read more

We have been coming here for years and have done it all tapas, dinner, Sunday brunch, showers, etc. The food was always amazing. We went last night and it was not good. We mentioned it was a special event and that didn't mean anything. We had to wait long for food, barely saw the server, no refills and the bill and paying took forever. Don't know if they changed some of the recipes, but not even the Cesar dressing was the same as it always was. Super disappointing. Most likely won't be back. read more

Place has a great ambiance especially for Christmas... they use soda ice for old fashions which is always the first clue the food won't be awesome. Our meal took two hours to arrive and when it did half the food was dried out as if it sat under a heat lamp for two hours. I'd imagine running a restaurant is tough, and maybe it was merely an off-night, but sadly was not impressed here. We picked this place to celebrate our birthdays because we wanted to eat somewhere that offered outdoor seating, and liked the menu. Unfortunately we missed the part that on Tuesdays, they change the menu to Tapas style. Not exactly their fault, but would've liked the option to eat from the regular dinner menu. The outdoor patio space is nice, but it's never a good sign when you sit down and wait forever for someone to acknowledge you, let alone take a drink order. Once we did order, we waited forever, only to have our meal begin to arrive before drinks ever made it to the table. We ordered cheese curds, which were the best part of our experience here, next to the gnocchi and mushrooms. They offer a few variations of Mac and cheese, which all sounded tasty, at least the short rib variation was. The fish tacos and calamari were both bland and barely edible. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed on a Tuesday, or mismanaged, but nobody came around to ask how everything was. We have been coming here for years. Food has always been consistent so that's not the issue. However, we generally eat later than everyone else. Over the last few times, we would come in for 7-7:30. Food is rushed..workers are cleaning under your feet.. etc. No one wants to eat their food and have strong smells of cleaning product. We decided to see what was happening at around 8 pm on a Thursday. I kind of figured they would be close to closing. A couple came in before us and asked the server if the kitchen was still open. She said she would ask and then came back and said yes, but she had to "twist their arm." After that, I walked out. And that's how you deter people (long time customers) away. This place was great when the current owners took over but it seems now the monkeys are running the asylum. If you don't have customers, you don't have a business. The workers at Camelot need to do better. It's no wonder the good people have left.. read more

We had a great experience here! We stumbled across this on our way home on a 6 hour trip, and we were very happy we did. We had intended to go somewhere else, but that ended up being a very sketchy location, and when we saw this across the screet we opted in. Our server was very friendly, very helpful. The food was quite good. The ambiance is nice - it's not too loud, it's not dirty. There were some good lunch options. I had a wrap, another had a burger, and another had a chicken and veggie dish. Everyone really enjoyed their food. They are also kid friendly with a page to color and a kid's menu. I highly recommend this place if you are nearby! read more

I absolutely love this local gem. I come here with my father almost every weekend. I love the ambiance and how cozy it feels. They recently upgraded their menu and have so much more options!! They offer brunch, lunch, dinner and a special tapas Tuesday! All of their food is so delicious and well made. I have had many of their items including their homemade meatballs, cheese curds, chicken Caesar salad, New York strip, calamari, and much more! All great food options. Also offer desserts and specials on the weekends. Everyone including staff are all so friendly and its a nice calm place to enjoy a dinner night out, or have a couple drinks at the bar. Downrating the place over something simple that would have been so easy to make right, yet they wouldn't do it. On our second visit and stay my wife left a jacket at the hotel. There were several in my party, she lent it to one of the others and it was forgotten in the restaurant. We noticed it when we got home and called the place. They confirmed they had it but had to check with the manager about sending it back to us So, over the next seven months or so we kept trying, getting one excuse after another. Getting there would be a day trip for us and extremely inconvenient. We offered to pay for mailing it back, but every time we called it was a different story and somehow they just "couldn't get around to it." We finally gave up. If you travel a lot-- and I do-- you inevitably leave things behind in hotels at some point. I have never had a place be so incapable of or unwilling to help a guest. read more

We recently dined at Camelot Restaurant & Inn near Scranton, PA to celebrate a birthday. We all practiced social distancing and only took off our masks to eat, drink and take a photo. Regardless, we are all healthy and so were the size of our Delmonico steaks served au poivre. The appetizer (steamed clams) was fresh and in a flavorful broth. The steaks were cooked perfectly -- just as we requested. I also appreciated the fact that the bread came to our table warm and moist. My only suggestion would be to add more peppercorns to the steak. The pepper is the key ingredient to this dish. Our server Allie and the entire staff made our visit most enjoyable. I heard about this place from friends. They had nothing but good things to say. I was so looking forward to eating here. First of all they do not have brunch on Saturdays What??? Just Sundays . The menu they did have was super dooper average at best. Boring From the moment I walked in until the moment I left the service was just less than average. Every one who worked there seemed stressed out. The food was good. We had French onion soup. Very good. Grilled romaine salad. We asked to share it. Many restaurants will bring out a salad already split. No unfortunately we had to wait to ask for an extra plate. We also got a flat bread. Which was good but service wise if we are sharing a flat bread how about an extra plate. When I asked for another plate he brought out a tea cup plate, sorry please bring out a normal sized plate to share this flat bread. I'm just saying the service was super slow and inattentive. I was thinking about getting dessert but really couldn't wait for someone to serve us. At this point I had to wait for a check and couldn't wait to get out of there. read more

October 2018 Review. The facility and the entire property looks beautiful from the outside. However, the interior, in the restaurant area, the ambience is depressing, old and tired looking. The white table cloths do not change the fact that the service is slow even when not that many patrons are dining, and the place has the feel of an old country house, but not in a good way. The food is average. Though the presentation is good, it is not worth the inflated prices because the flavor is not all that. But that is only one of a few places to eat in the area. So, if you must, go for it. Just don't expect amazing ambience, food or service. read more

Have lived in the area for 8 years. I had never tried this restaurant. A year ago, new ownership came in. The bartender Nick was excellent, giving options on what drinks go with what entrees and very attentive to his customers. Now on to the chef, what a great menu and the food definitely delivers. I had the pan seared Delmonico and the lady had the the seafood Fra Diavolo. Honestly found a place to take someone for a very apraxia last dinner. Atmosphere was great. We really enjoyed the Tapas. Everything was prepared well and tasted great. Standout plates were the paella, ahi tuna tartar and the crab mac and cheese. I really liked the bees knees cocktail too. We threw my mother in law a surprise birthday here out on the deck on a rainy cool spring night. It was so lovely with light strands and candlelight, the rain beating down on the tent, heat lamps, and the live acoustic guitar player strumming some of my all time favorite tunes. It was quite perfect. The building which folks kept referring to as a "castle" had some old world, classic charm. My family who lives in the area all spoke of romantic, memorable dates they had here so I guess that's the thing to do in these parts when you want to impress a lady. Guys, take note. There was a lovely fireplace, cozy booths, a welcoming bar too. The staff and party coordinator were super friendly and very helpful the day of, and while planning the shindig. We paid a per person price for a simple buffet style meal. It was a tad pricey for the more casual menu and didn't included bar beverages which we paid for separate. Not a huge deal. I'm not sure if my sister in law included the other items she bought for the party (cake and decorations) in our $25/head (not including kids) price tag. Sorry, that's not more helpful. We did get our own performer for the party by default so to me it was definitely worth the price. The food was tasty and everyone commented on the pulled meat. They accommodated the non-meat eaters in the crowd just fine when we asked. This family friendly bed and breakfast is located near downtown Clarks Summit and Elk Mountain. I can imagine a stay here for some skiing would be just a wonderful weekend getaway. If we didn't have plans back home for Mothers Day the next day I definitely would've rented a room here for the night! Oh, and I should mention they were getting long stem roses together for the mommies who were attending their Mother's Day brunch the following morning. Nice touch. Ambiance is great but a bit dark at night. It's clean and organized. No one greeted us at the host stand. The bartender sat us. The service was slow. The drinks took way too long to order, and too arrive. The server was also bussing. Not a good idea. The server could have been up-selling. Instead, people were waiting at three tables for her. We would have had another drink each. $21 sale lost. Multiply that by every table they have, every day, all year. That's a ton of lost revenue. Hire someone to bus. Food was excellent. Hot. Cooked properly. Good flavors and textures. No issues there. I ordered a burger which had three side options. I wanted the sweet potato fries, but the server never asked me what side I wanted so I got French fries by default. My bad, but a good server should ask when there are options, and the customer doesn't specify. It's not too pricey and is an enjoyable experience overall. Service does need more management. Disappointing experience. I have been going to Camelot for years, even before it was called Camelot. The food has generally been very good, but I can also say there has been a steady decline in service and quality over the years. Last night we went out with two other couples (we had a reservation). Service was friendly, but very slow. Drinks were slow in coming and slow in being refilled. Once we ordered the entrees, they took about 45 minutes and were not served together. One person ordered the sea bass and it was a very thin piece that he said was over cooked. I had ordered the Delmonico which I have had many times before. It was the worst one I have ever had. The whole center portion was fat. It was also very well-done; I had ordered medium rare. The broccoli was also over-cooked, yet the whole meal was rather cold, like it had been setting on a counter for a long time. I sent the steak back, which is something I very rarely do, but it was a "market price" item and I figured it should be what I ordered. It eventually came back, and I swear they punished me for sending it back by presenting me with an all-out rare steak; either that or the person cooking had no idea how to properly cook a steak to order and no access to a meat thermometer, let alone a sous vide. The person next to me laughed and commented "that one is still mooing". As I can take "mooing" over well-done, I ate it, but it was simply not good. When presented with the bill, I discovered this terrible piece of incompetently cooked fat--er--meat set me back $48. I realize the price of meat has skyrocketed, but I have had steaks recently with lower prices at better restaurants that are perfect. Camelot seems to be buying crap meat and charging the price of a good cut. Also, they add a 20% tip automatically. I would have tipped 20% anyway, but I do think it is a bit out of line to do that on a bill for two people. Giving credit where is is due, the waitress was friendly and good (and probably trying to work too many tables). She comped me $7 for a glass of wine. Also, slightly off-topic from my dinner, but indicative of service in general, I have called them twice in the last two weeks with an eye to scheduling a rehearsal dinner at Camelot next year. Despite having given all my contact information, no one has seen fit to call me back or email me. I guess that is fine. After my recent experience, I don't want to have the rehearsal dinner there anyway, and they obviously don't want my business. read more

Had the Tapas Tuesday menu last night. Ate " outside" which is actually a fully enclosed tent with heaters. Very spacious and warm. Live music was a bit loud probably because the tent is not absorbing any sound. The food was very good and service excellent. The only thing which seems a bit strange to me is that having a " share" menu during Covid might be a little misplaced. The bybthe glass wine list was extensive whuch was a nice change and appreciated! Will definitely go back for regular menu! The entrance was also very inviting with fall decor. Last night a friend and I reserved an outdoor table at Camelot. My opinion is if you can't sit outside on such a perfect weather night you may as well go somewhere else. I honestly have a difficult time finding something I enjoy to eat there, but the outdoor ambiance is worth it. I had asked for a 6:30 reservation and was told that I would have to take a 6:15. No problem. Upon arriving we expected to proceed to our outdoor table but was directed indoors. I told the young man about my outdoor reservation and he became quite rude. He informed me that no reservation was guaranteed and I would have to sit where he put me. I protested, saying that I called early in the week and was told outdoor tables were available (or I would not have gone there!). As he reluctantly walked us to our outdoor table, he rudely informed me not to expect an outdoor table next time. I said that I was not the person who worked there and he should speak to her if he felt she should not be making guarantees that they could not keep. He responded with "Well, I DO work here and from now on don't expect to sit where you want." I've been going to restaurants for a long time and have never been treated so rudely. Expect two other times and both of those were hosts at Camelot also! What kind of business are they running where they allow people to speak to customers that way? When I worked as a server many years ago, I would have been fired immediately if I had spoken so rudely to a customer. By the way, when I got to my outdoor table, the host flipped the menus on the table and walked away. I looked around and saw four other tables, nicely set, waiting for customers ‍. As far as Covid goes, Camelot have done the best they can. The tent is spacious, heating more than adequate, even if the fan heater is intermittently noisy and would circulate the virus pretty effectively. The food was really good and the staff eager to please. What loses Camelot a star is the fact it took 20 minutes for drinks to arrive and it was almost an hour before we were eating. With less than 20 people in the whole restaurant, it was surely possible to get meals out quicker than that. read more
