THANK YOU‍ From the time I arrived (3:20 pm), I was greeted by the beautiful & radiant spirit Ms. Vanessa, the Inn hospitality Manager. Her heartfelt words wrapped around my core; saying WELCOME HOME. Oh, and it was home at its finest. From the 4pm welcome social, that included delicious White & Red wines that danced graciously on your palate. Various delectable cheeses, crackers, olives & thinly sliced turkey meats. YUMMY, they were! Movie nights, s'more's & more libation at your choice. The next morning, a scrupulously delicious breakfast was served; with a fresh brewed coffee from Ethiopia & a freshly squeezed grapefruit hearty drink. Yoga awaits me at 11am. I'm now chilling at the warm pool ‍ until my 2:30 Swedish massage ‍. Tonight (11/8), Saturday with my incredible cousins and their lovely friends who joined us on a "Cousin's Girl Weekend", will be celebrating me & my birthday . A quick weekend getaway was what the dr ordered! About a 5 hour drive from northern VA, my first time in that part of Pa. It's a beautiful state, rolling hills, lovely drive up the mountain. The property is gorgeous, stately mansion built in 1908. As you can imagine with age, some exterior work is required but don't let that deter you. Upon entry of the spacious foyer, you're reminded of the beautiful architecture during that time. The owner, Monique Greenwood. greeted us warmly and got us checked in and straight to the room. It was on the 3rd floor, easily accessible via elevator. It was comfy, spacious, clean and neat ensuite and a small balcony with chairs. The bed slept like a dream! The breakfast and fellowship with other guests were a special time together! New friends were made and a relaxing time was had. Most of my time was spent on the property. I did explore Walmart to pick up essentials other than that? I enjoyed Noble Lane! I'm so proud of the owners and their offerings to the community. My friends and I were there for a Girls Trip earlier this month. We had such a wonderful experience! They had been previously and insisted on returning. I am so happy I was able to clear my work schedule and go. Monique, the owner is down to earth and a sweetheart. She makes you feel like you are family. Her hospitality and attention to detail towards her guests is unmatched. On our last day there she took the time to sit with me early in the morning to "talk shop" - one event planner to another. We laughed, compared stories and she gave me some gems of ideas. Another testament to the person she is. Chef Theo is the Bomb Dot Com!! My friends, and I were trying to figure out how to shove him into our suitcases to bring him home with us! Even with certain food restrictions that some of my friends had he accommodated every special need while delivering amazing food every time! There was not a bite that wasn't top-notch! Unfortunately, when I got home, I didn't want to eat anything because nothing here in was as good! My pallet changed! lol The rooms were beautiful. Plush and spa like. The views of the beautiful grounds from every window were breathtaking. I had several spa treatments... AMAZING!! We only stayed 2 nights but I have never felt more relaxed and at peace, ever. My cousin is getting married and I needed that "everything" spot but still away from people (thanks COVID) and came upon this gem through a friend. The location is absolutely beautiful! There is a gym, heated pool, tennis courts, spa, sauna, and tons of other things to do on and off site. Holding an event can be overwhelming when dealing with a lot of people but The owner, Monique, and her staff made everything as easy as possible--- down to the cake! I spoke to her about what I wanted and she coordinated with vendors on my behalf for it to happen. I am beyond grateful to have had that level of support. The food is AMAZING and if our group had wanted something they don't typically make there she had a solid connect to get it. The entire staff is personable, sweet and professional. Of a group of 20 women- not 1 complaint... can't beat that! It was a beautiful Sunday morning - my bestie, Kym, and I had decided to stay local and vacay in the Poconos in this time of C19. Breezing down the highway, about an hour away from our destination at the Akwaaba Mansion at Noble Lane, my car gives the message - "tire pressure low, please check and fill ". To make a very long story short, within 2 hours, we found ourselves stranded in a small town, that had no Uber drivers, hotels or a place to rent a car. Thankfully, the owner of Rays Truck and Auto allowed us to stay in their air-conditioned office while we figured out what to do. I called Akwaaba to explain what happened and that we might not be able to make it to them that night. What came next was amazing. I didn't realize I was speaking with the owner, Monique Greenwood, and she said she would see if one of her staff would pick us up and that she would call me back! What? Did I mention we were an hour away? You would have never heard that from some chain hotel. A short time later, she called back, but unfortunately was unable to find someone (understandable because it was now about 4:00pm and they'd had a long day of work). BUT, what came out of her mouth next was simply unbelievable! She said that she would come to get us! Who does that? Well, apparently, Mrs. Greenwood! True to her word, she drove an hour to pick us up, stopped to allow us to get something to eat and then drove back while giving us a guided tour - after working a full day! After our travel woes, we were glad to get to a space to finally be able to rest. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we really didn't have to leave the inn to enjoy our mini-vacay. The entire inn was beautifully appointed; we had a reflexology session, lounged by the pool and enjoyed a delicious breakfast (I still need the recipe for those banana nut muffins). Knowing we were without a vehicle, our gracious host even offered to take us into town so we could have dinner at a local restaurant. If you're looking for a glorious getaway that pays attention to every detail from the food (outstanding) to the music (smooth & jazzy) and the decor (elegant, yet comfortable), make your reservation now. Akwaaba is more than just a wonderful property, it's a space that feels like home. I cannot say enough about Mrs. Greenwood and all of the staff we encountered - God's grace was demonstrated through her actions to not only ensure our safety, but the welcoming type of hospitality (usually reserved for friends and loved ones) that was extended throughout our stay. Of all the amazing aspects to review about this bed and breakfast I'll just start with the hospitality. Monique, Akwaaba's owner, host, in keeper and server is an absolute inspiration. She's very attentive to quality and thorough in her work. This was my very first experience staying in a B&B and it couldn't have been better. I enjoyed yoga class in the morning, massage services (at additional cost), the swimming pool was open all night (there's nothing better than a 2am swim), local restaurants and things to do in the area and a relaxing walk along the huge lawn. At the end of the lawn there's area for sitting, a beautiful swing for two and a large chessboard. Although an old mansion the facility and grounds are well kept. My husband and I decided we wanted to try a B&B instead of the traditional hotel for our 3-day getaway. It saddens me to write this review, because I chose the Mansion at Noble Lane because of all of the 5-star reviews that were received. Unfortunately, our experience was quite horrible and I would not recommend a stay here. Pros: the grounds are beautiful, the breakfast (although we were not given a choice of what we would like to eat) was delicious, the couples massage was awesome. Cons: The mansion has not been kept up, exterior shows rotting wood, peeling paint, holes in the pavement that I hit while driving to the parking lot. Furniture is outdated. We reserved the "premium" room, which promised three windows and two balconies. Windows are painted shut, so I could not open the for fresh air if I wanted. I was unable to regulate the thermostat in my room, so we had AC all three days. Carpet was dirty and in need of serious cleaning, the dust cover on bottom of mattress was filthy, the sheets had red stains on them, as if something had been spilled on it, the window sill and area behind bed needed to be dusted. My "balcony" showed even more peeling paint and rotting wood. The glass for one of the doors was broken. Our room was not cleaned, becasue we were not told that we were supposed to ask. There were no onsite activities as mentioned on the website, until Friday evening when a "large" group was expected. We arrived mid-week and were pretty much left to our own devices. We purchased the package that included dinner, massage, and picnic lunch. When we arrived at the restaurant, they know nothing about our prepaid meal. After calling Ayisha, she informed me that she would call them. I think that we should have had a voucher, or the call should have been made BEFORE we got to the restaurant. Sadly this property has great potential if the owner would spend the money needed to update it use of the 22 acres that it sits on. I would not recommend this property at this time until the much needed repairs are made, and there are activities that are available to those who stay there. read more

I would have given this place zero stars if I could. When we arrived the place looked rundown. The pillar on the left looked as though it was going to fall off the building. Once inside it did not improve. However, we wanted to support a black owned business so we checked in and went to our room. Our room was a nightmare! The ceiling and wall had water damage and peeling paint, the chairs were dirty and worn, and the lock on the door didn't work. We went down to the "front desk" and asked for a new room. We were told they were fully booked. I was beyond upset. They placed us in that room knowing it's conditions. The woman at the "desk" called the owner (Monique); she took 45 mins to get back to her. After speaking with her and explaining we were NOT staying in that room she called around and booked us at another place. I would NOT recommend staying at this location. read more

Monique and the staff provided a welcoming atmosphere where rest and relaxation could be attained! The balcony view allowed for a beautiful of the sunrise and sunset. The spa packages allowed for me to have a much needed and deserved hot stone and reflexology treatment. The food was tasty and served in the sunroom spaced out in accordance to COVID guidelines. Suzette, the mastermind of all things perfect, decided to plan her 50th birthday party at The Mansion at Noble Lane. I was caught off guard! I had grandiose plans for a destination celebration, but the party was happening at The Mansion. I can never thank her enough. When we arrived at the massive driveway where ornate front porch and front door boasted of old charm, welcome, and relaxation. We were personally greeted by Monique and her staff! We were free to relax and breathe. They bid us a fond ado to enjoy the opening activities; afterwards, our room would be ready. The Mansion is exceptional and most definitely of the quality and distinction that you would expect at this price point. We dined on cuisine that was created by signature chef, Chef Shawn. We even had a personal cooking class with him! Every whim that one could want was within reach, even the mansion's signature monogrammed, white, thick, luxury robes. We spent the weekend, fine dining, making smores, walking the grounds, doing photo shoots, relaxing, and being spoiled. Our every need was covered. I went alone for quite time and spa services and it was perfect. I've also hosted a started an annual women's retreat every January when they opened just to support the owner. It is great for family weekends or small family reunion. The property is so quaint and divine. If you go here don't look for things to do outside of the property it's not that type of party and it's not necessary. Bring your own party. Once inside our host - Monique provided a tour and orientation. The décor in each room complemented this historical property. By far, this is one of the most exclusive best kept secrets in the Poconos. This mansion is situated on well manicured acres over looking the mountains and the interior of the mansion is gorgeous. My husband and I stayed overnight at Akwaaba's Mansion at Noble Lane in early September. The Mansion at Noble Lane is absolutely breathtaking. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the innkeeper and owner, Monique Greenwood. Our time at the Mansion was wonderful. From the Spa experience, to the luxury accommodations, relaxing sauna, and free yoga, we couldn't ask for more. My experience was both romantic and relaxing. When we arrived on Saturday, I went to the spa and received an awesome massage by Jennifer. Her hands were those of an angel. I left my massage and relaxed on the chaise while I drank herbal tea and looked out at the beautifully landscaped grounds. I completed my relaxing experience by sitting in the sauna. When I left the spa, I felt 10 years lighter! I was blessed to stay in one of the beautiful rooms that have a balcony. As I relaxed on my balcony and looked out over the grounds, I was given the pleasure of seeing a family of deer as they walked across the grass. That evening the innkeeper hosted a champagne and smores get together in one of the many outside lounging areas. My husband and I roasted marshmallows and enjoyed the company of the other guests. The next morning, we got up and had a wonderful restorative yoga class with Nicki. I never really cared for yoga until I took this class with Nicki. We followed yoga with one of Akwaaba's signature delicious breakfasts. The French toast, warm pears, and turkey bacon was absolutely flawless. This place is perfect for a romantic getaway, girlfriend's weekend, or for writing that novel you've been working on. We are definitely coming back! read more

After watching Checked In on the owned network I had to visit my this place. Monique Greenwood is an amazing host and I love and how she cares about every guest. She welcomes you and give you a tour of the mansion with some history. During this pandemic you get individual cheese crackers and a wine of your choice. Saturday morning breakfast was so delicious French Toast chicken sausage, turkey bacon and baked apples. I missed having my eggs. We played and ice breaker game which was fun and she gave prizes nice touch. She told us what was going on for the day which was yoga a full hour class for FREE and s'mores at 9pm at fire pit. She told us she was leaving for the day. What I was disappointed about the innkeepers were not as friendly they tried but you can tell when someone doesn't want to be bothered. I also couldn't find anyone however I did realize you needed to call the number they leave in your room. Not sure if everyone had that because it was a lot of complaints. Another thing is I can appreciate the old mansion but I shouldn't have to look spider webs on the window pane; some people are allergic to dust also spider webs shouldn't be inside the pool area. I couldn't lean in the pool and had to stay in the middle with a lot of dead bugs floating. I'm guessing that cant be helped with the doors open and bugs flying in. Let me say I will be back and maybe she under staffed the weekend I stayed. I'll end by saying Sunday breakfast made up for it. The grounds and main building at the mansion are beautiful and dripping with history, detail and care. The room was clean and bright with a lovely view of the grounds and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We had a nice experience but on a regular weekend, without a wedding or event on the property, the place may be too big for its own good. The owners arranged for us to check-in late as we were coming in after dinner time. While the instructions were clear and we got into our room easily, the mansion felt immense. We saw only one staff member the entire time during our stay and only a few other guests. While our needs were taken care of there was a slightly eerie element to the place. I attribute that to it being rather empty - most of us feel more comfortable with other people around. I would come back with my own large group - they can certainly accommodate it! read more

So I'd read a variety of reviews on here before my trip. Needless to say I was very nervous as to what I'd experience. BUT I must say my expectations were truly exceeded. Where should I begin. My husband and I were celebrating our 5th anniversary. This is definitely one filled with awesome memories. I felt like I was at adult sleep away camp(). I say that in a best way possible..from snack/happy hour, fresh HOME COOKED breakfast, hot stone massages, s'mores and champagne by the fire pit, sing alongs, yoga,laughter, hugs, sharing of life lessons, stories, I could go on and on. BUT I would be truly remised if I did not acknowledge the hard working inn keeper I've ever met Mr. Bill. Bill checked us in, made up our beds, made the best/strongest drinks ever, served us during breakfast and snack/happy hour, laughed with us, watched the games with the guys..he did it ALL and more importantly he did it WELL never missing a beat( even when I complained of being cold around 2am). Me and bae came for a weekend getaway April 13-16, the weather was great Friday and Saturday, then turned really cold and rainy. We stayed in room 307, for some rest and relaxation, this is the place to be. The Mansion at Noble Lane is a gem. My husband and I booked our reservation at the end of last year. We were really excited to come and stay at our first bed and breakfast. It's inaccurate to call Noble Lane a B&B. It's so much more. My husband and I were visiting from Nashville and wanted a relaxing getaway. This fit the bill. We had a great experience right out the gate. The property is just amazingly beautiful. We were lucky that the owner, Monique was at the property this weekend. We also fell in love with the Innkeeper, Bill. Our room was spectacular. Monique gave us a tour of the property, while we danced and sang with the other guest. We had snacks and drinks the first night and met in the evening at the fire pit to listen to music, drink and eat S'mores. The drinks Bill made were so good. I really don't drink a lot but they were so good I drank two. Thanks Bill. The next day we had a delicious breakfast with some of the best French Toast I have ever eaten. The rest of the day we had spa services that were top notch. Because the weather warmed up, Monique decided to have a cookout that afternoon and we had burgers and hot dogs and other fixings. So good. We once again, ended up at the fire pit with the other guest eating, drinking and having a great time. We had such a good time. We'll definitely be coming back. read more

My girlfriend and I arrived at Noble Lane on Friday afternoon we were greeted and taken on a tour of the resort by Mrs. Monique the innkeeper for the weekend. Upon being taken to our room we were told that the keys to our room had been lost so we had to leave our door unlocked for the weekend or lock it and find the innkeeper every time we needed to get back in our room. Saturday morning we overslept and missed breakfast Mrs. Monique was gracious enough to still provide us with a breakfast which was very nice of her. The wi-fi was weak to say the least and would go in and out. We couldn't get a signal at all in our room. The refrigerator in our room did not work either so we were left with filling up our sink with ice and placing our beverages in the sink in order to keep them cold. We informed the staff of these issues but nothing was done to accommodate them. The breakfast on Sunday morning was delicious and provided in a timely manner. We enjoyed the pool the tennis courts and gym area which attributed to a relaxing experience. All in all I would rate our experience at this particular location as average at best. read more

My bf and I visited Noble Lane over LDW and had a fabulous time! The staff was kind and helpful. Our room was relaxing with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was a big size with updated features. The room was provide with a mini fridge and coffee maker. The breakfast was delicious and worth waking for at 9am. Each day was a different menu with fresh juice, coffee and tea. We had a great time and the owner/In Keeper, Moniqu, is so awesome!! Very nice, thoughtful, knowledgeable about the area and accommodating! The rooms were a decent size, clean and had their own AC! The gym and tennis courts were great. We had a lot of fun. The building and landscape is Beautiful! The venue is very old and does need some work but I'm pretty sure they are working on it. There were always people there working on something but they never impacted or interrupted our stay. The property is affiliated with 3 other B&Bs. I think that's party of the reason everything was so great... it's run by very experienced inkeeper. I would 100% recommend this place. We enjoyed a fantastic weekend celebrating a friends 50th birthday. The rooms were comfortable and the grounds and amenities are amazing. Most importantly, the service and hospitality were outstanding. The staff did an amazing job taking care of us and making all of us feel at home. My wife and I will definitely be back. read more
