Week stay - Sept 1st - Sept 8 Check-in at 4 p.m. and check-out at 10 a.m. (They will bill $50/h for extended checkout time.) *note. If flight is earlier/later, they graciously allow you to leave your luggage. I just called a few days in advance and asked! Check-in was easy. I showed my ID and a credit card (they placed a hold amount. Mine was $50; friends traveling with us had a $100 hold placed). I think the hold depends on the unit. The Lobby was beautiful and made you feel a little bougie! Quarter House throughout the week has some free food & drinks events! It was a Fat Thursday event- food was good!! Two different kinds of wine! After a particular time, they will allow 2nds! Very NOLA style! And a Sunday Morning breakfast- which was fruit and baked goods. Coffee, tea, and juices. There is also a Free Sunday morning guided walking tour! Sign up in advance; they limit the spots! There is a small pool in the courtyard! It was beautiful for a cool down and perfectly sized. Courtyard did allow Smoking. No smoking in any units. Unit 404! Very clean. The unit was spotless and updated with all modern appliances. The bathroom had a standup shower and felt new and updated. Enough towels were provided for a week's stay for two. Queen-size bed. (The mattress left much to be desired if you're not used to a hard mattress.) The living room area had a pull-out queen-sized couch bed. The couch was comfortable for some Evening TV watching until dinner reservations were ready, and greatly appreciated after walking the French Quarter! The unit also had two very nice-sized smart TVs. The stove worked, and the unit had cookware and a coffee pot (but Quarter House is like a few steps away from the fantastic French Truck coffee... if making coffee in the room, go to French Truck, get a bag, and drink locally made coffee- enjoy the experience! (We did learn part of the building had a major fire a few years ago, so all that area is new and brought up to fire codes.) We have a Walmart+ account- so once we arrived, we placed an order for snack items, water, coffee creamers, and ordered some White Claws.. (save on that alcohol budget as NOLA allows drinking in the streets of the French Quarter (no glass bottles) etc. to be delivered.

Timeshare condo located one block from Canal Street, on the edge of the French Quarter in New Orleans, on Chatres and Iberville, some 100 units in 3 buildings. $36 fixed fare taxi to and from Louis Armstrong MSY airport, 15 miles away, cheaper than Uber or Lyft Friday 6pm surge charges $55. Wife walked in the front entrance into a window! Tiny lobby can only seat 6 people. Stayed one week on third floor in back building room 311, a one bedroom suite, 16' x 16', or 256 square feet. King size bed, two bedroom windows, and a kitchen window overlooking a service street. Flat screen TVs in bedroom and living room. Shower only bathroom, tiny sink with minimum sink counter space. Toilet close to ground suitable for toddlers. Living room with large pull out sofa bed, small dining room table for 3, and a full kitchen. Some electrical outlets with plug holes too loose to work. Kitchen had dishwasher, full size refrigerator, 4 electric burners on 20th century stove top, toaster, microwave, and tiny toaster oven. Full set of 4 utensils, plates, bowls, cups, glasses, and pots and pans. No oven. No punch/bottle opener. No washer/dryer in room. Unit very clean, no stains on rug or blankets, and recently renovated, with daily housekeeping. Noisy central AC and heater. Ceiling fans in bedroom and kitchen. Safe as big as a carryon luggage in bedroom closet, and could hold a 19" flat screen TV. Wifi free but weak, with frequent drops, and time lags in typing. Our room along with 14 other units overlooking side street off of Iberville, facing a multistory parking garage. Bottom floor units could be windowless. Motorcycles and wannabe racers revving their engines in the garage. Nightly, starting at 230am, banging of garbage cans on sanitation trucks, rolling the dumpsters, and motors roaring lifting and emptying dumpsters, and rolling them back. One business had a dozen garbage cans. Up to three sanitation truck visits of around 4 minutes duration, each night. Could have asked for a new room, but might get an even worse location, those second floor rooms just above Sneaky Pete's and Mahagony Hall, both bars, with rowdy and noisy clients, which don't close until 2am daily. Best rooms for quietness are those that face the interior courtyard, with a small unheated pool, approximately 14' x 14' for wading only, and adjacent nonoperational hot tub for 1. Communal ground floor room with 2 clothes washers and 2 dryers. 50 cents for laundry detergent. Free perks: Sunday 9am continental breakfast in the courtyard, Sunday 10am-1130am French Quarter walking tour, Monday 4pm sampler crawfish pasta with shrimp, salad and mimosas in the courtyard, and Tuesday 5pm-6pm wine and cheese jazz gig at the next door Mahagony Hall. Still interested? You can rent these units on www.redweek.com. No mice nor rats during our stay, as mentioned in other reviews, a major consideration for the wife, and the reason we didn't change rooms. Rouses supermarket on Royal and St. Peter, 6 blocks or 10 minute walk. Walgreens on Iberville and Royal St, 2 blocks or 4 minute walk away. No need to rent a car, as most attractions walkable. Took the $1.25 trolley ($0.40 for age 65+) to the garden district, the city park district, and bus to Jackson Barracks Military Museum. Bring lots of coins. Last day here, wife misplaces her room cardkey, with a frantic search finding it just before the 10am check out deadline. $15 charge for a lost cardkey! $140 resort fee added on after our one week stay. $50 per half hour if you want to stay beyond the 10am check out time!

We stayed here for three nights and it was honestly excellent. We had no issues with our room and it was clean. We had everything we needed for our stay and although we didn't use it, our room had a small kitchenette with all the basic things. In fact, the whole hotel from the pool to courtyards to hallways were clean and smelled great...quite refreshing from the smells of the streets :) The hotel is in perfect walking distance from everything around French Quarters and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The only downside is that the hotel does not have parking. They have an agreement with another hotel close by but you need to pay about $32 a day for the parking. In addition, they didn't really have a dedicated unloading area in front of the hotel...seemed like there was some type of construction and it was blocked off...so you just had to stay parked in the middle of the street and hope the people behind you were patient. These things were not showstoppers for us. We enjoyed our stay tand if I'm ever in the area again...I would definitely stay here again.

GROSSLY UNSAFE & UNHEALTHY This is more of a motel than a "hotel" and can never be classified a "resort." This poorly kept building with various sizes of rooms have filthy rugs, inefficient housekeeping that does surface cleaning and does not clean rooms properly. Rooms have old and musty worn out furniture and the room we stayed in, Room 220, has a grossly urine stained bed in the master bedroom. We had to sleep on the sofa bed because housekeeping is not available after 5p and the caretaker on night made it clear she "can't do anything about it." Note: Wish we had looked at recent reviews and the disregard of management towards complaints. Never would have booked. DO NOT STAY AT THE QUARTER HOUSE!

Lovely courtyard w/ pool; very refreshing!

Ask the Community - Quarter House Resort

Am I able to keep my car there during a cruise and only pay $25 for the full time my car stays in the garage or is it $25 for each night my car is in the garage?

I believe they charge per night unfortunately. You might want to find a local parking garage and see if they are cheaper bc you still have a long walk from the quarter house to where they have you park.

One of my favorite moments was chatting with a gentleman in the lobby who helped with our luggage. We mentioned we were visiting from Pennsylvania, and he shared that his very first job was in Pennsylvania and actually knew our area. It was one of those authentic conversations that makes you feel more like a guest than just another room number. Our room in the older section was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Housekeeping and the nightly turndown service were exceptional. We also spent plenty of time at the pool, where the staff and bartender were fantastic. The drinks were great, the food hit the spot, and the Fourth of July pop-up DJ made for a really fun afternoon. The service was so personal that one of the bartenders recognized us by name when we ran into her on the street a few days later. The only miss during our stay was the famous Carousel Bar. We never managed to get seats at the actual carousel during our four nights--which is understandable given how popular it is and being the 4th of July weekend. We did sit just behind it. Unfortunately, the service there was noticeably unfriendly and felt completely out of step with the incredible hospitality we experienced everywhere else in the hotel. That one experience wasn't enough to overshadow an otherwise outstanding stay. Between the beautiful historic décor, unbeatable French Quarter location, easy access to everything, and a staff that truly cares about its guests, Hotel Monteleone absolutely lived up to the hype. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Paint in the room was chipping, mattress was stained, but overall these were things we could ignore. However, something we couldn't ignore while using the bathroom in the middle of our first night, was that we found we weren't alone. There were 3+ cockroaches hanging out near the tub and a few scurried away before we could kill/photograph them. The next morning we went to the front desk, got our refund and switched hotels. Front desk staff was AWESOME, so kind and quick to help us. However, after we asked to cancel our stay and went back up to the room to get our bags and leave, one of the hotel housekeepers decided to come up to our room and "confront us". She wanted us to show her the cockroaches (that we had killed and flushed) and tried telling us she's never seen a cockroach at Hotel Le Marais before, basically calling us liars. Lol, well, here's some pictures to prove it. Let's ask the audience. Positives: The front desk staff was exceptional. Very helpful, very kind and knowledgeable. The 2 things I care most about when staying in a hotel is a comfortable night's rest and a good bathroom/shower. The bed in our room was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life. It was so mushy that when you laid your head down, you sunk so far into it that your legs were literally 45 degrees above your head. I ended up sleeping upside down in the bed with my head where your feet go in order to feel even remotely comfortable. The pillows were all extremely flat, when you put your head on one it sank so far your face was about 1/2 inch from the mattress. I had to use 3 pillows stacked on each other. I had a stiff back, neck and joints the entire time we were there. The 2nd issue was hot water. The first morning, we attempted to shower, it only got barely luke warm for me and when my husband showered immediately after he only got ice cold water. We stopped at the front desk that morning on our way out for the day and told the woman at the front desk. She said she hadn't received any other complaints so it must be specific to our room and she would send engineering there to look at it. (we were getting hot water in the sink). Later that evening when we returned to our room, we immediately tested the shower again and it was still ice cold. So we went back to the front desk to check if engineering had come. We spoke to the same woman from the morning who acted like it was the first time we were telling her this and she said the exact same thing. I asked if they were going to come ASAP because we needed to shower soon and we couldn't take ice cold showers. She ignored my question and answered the ringing phone. A manager happened to be at the desk and overheard our conversation. He asked what our room number was and said that because of the old building and the pipes the hot water takes longer to get there. He said this was a KNOWN Issue by the staff, management and the owner. He told us to run the shower for AT LEAST 15 to 20 minutes, simultaneously with the sink and it should get hot. He also offered to move us to a different room but when I asked if he could guarantee if we wouldn't have the same problem in that room he couldn't give me a straight answer. We had already unpacked everything and didn't want to go through that hassle without a guarantee. So we went back to the room and let it run for 20 minutes and it eventually got hot. So for the remaining 3 mornings, we had to set our alarms for 30 minutes earlier so we could get up and run our shower before hand. For nearly $300 a night, we felt that this was ridiculous. Old building or not, if its a problem, then either don't put people in those rooms, or get it fixed somehow. Why should anyone be subjected to an ice old shower or an inconvenience to their time because the owner hasn't done anything about it? We visited the hotel Bar, the Bourbon O'bar 3 times during our stay and each time we received TERRIBLE service. None of the bartenders were friendly to us, in fact they were pretty rude. Each time it took them at least 10 minutes to even take our order (by standing there and looking at us and not saying anything). The bar was not busy or crowded any of these times. They would then start making one of our drinks, put it down and make other people's drinks, leave and go into a back room, play on their cell phone, talk to each other, or carry the glass around while doing other things. My husband ordered an old fashioned and the alcohol was sitting in the jar with the ice for over 5 minutes while the bartender carried it around doing other things, causing it to get watered down. When making a cocktail, it should be completed from start to finish without doing other things in the middle. I ordered the Mardi Drop cocktail on 2 different days. The first time, it was actually very good. The 2nd time from a different bartender it was horrible .He also sprinkled probably a tablespoon of cinnamon on top of it (which the first didn't have) which made it nearly undrinkable. I had to stir it into the martini in order to not get a mouthful of cinnamon with each sip. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant Roux because of the bad Yelp reviews - we felt we could get a better breakfast elsewhere outside the hotel. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all unless you don't care about being comfortable or friendly service.

Just be prepared for the wall of noise if you're staying on a Friday and Saturday night and have a room facing Bourbon Street; you will need more than the sound machine and earplugs the hotel provides you. But if you're there to party hard on Bourbon Street at all the touristy bars, then you will be in your element. Depending on the side of the hotel you select when booking your room and the days you choose, you may be able to get away with just a sound machine and earplugs, or you may be getting too old and need to look elsewhere. If you stay on the courtyard side, you should have enough barriers to deflect the nonstop barrage of noise coming from all the bars and clubs on Bourbon Street, especially between Bienville and St. Ann, on a Friday and Saturday night particularly. We had a room on the third floor with a balcony overlooking Bourbon Street that gave us a great view and the opportunity to enjoy wine and cocktails as the festivities picked up steam throughout the afternoons of our stay. The bed was wicked comfortable. The set of drawers had plenty of space to put clothes with a small fridge for keeping drinks cool and leftovers from spoiling. The closet space was ample and was able to fit all of our hang-up clothing and our suitcases. There was a nice lounge chair next to the desk to chill if you didn't want to sit on the balcony. However, the bathroom was cramped and narrow with these weird double doors that could cause trouble if you are going to do business in the middle of the night. The water pressure wasn't great either and if you don't have the curtain positioned right then you're going to have a puddle. Housekeeping did come by to change our linens and provide fresh towels every day, which was appreciated. The front desk was very affable and accommodating, especially with holding out luggage when our room wasn't quite ready yet to check-in. And I liked that there was a security person checking people that were actually staying at the hotel to avoid stragglers, random drunks, and transients from entering. I didn't have the chance to use the pool while I was there, but we were busy walking around the French Quarter to really care. Same went with having anything in the restaurant for food. They did have the little mini mart on the ground floor that worked for when we needed more bottles of water that were larger than the complimentary ones.
