I've been going to Que Bella ever since it opened back in the 90s. Other salons come and go, but this is a veritable institution. I visit whenever I come back to Southern California, and remarkably, I don't pay too much more than I did fifteen years ago. But that doesn't mean things at the salon never change. On the contrary, every time I come the salon has a new look, and everytime I leave with a new look as well. In a city that sometimes values form over substance, Lorenzo manages to cherish both. Although he could be a celebrity stylist, he cares too much about his clients while caring nothing about fame. Purchased a Groupon for a cut and conditioning treatment. I called on a Friday morning and was able to get in that afternoon with Enzo. My hair was in serious need of a trim, it'd been months and my hair was looking dried, unhealthy and just plain horrible. The salon is nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and professional. Enzo asked questions about my hair and offered suggestions. Ultimately, we decided with simple long layers to add body & volume. I'm not one who spends more than 20 minutes on my hair, so I can't have complicated hairstyles. Enzo did an amazing job at bringing my hair back to life. My hair felt so smooth and looked amazing. This is one of Covina's hidden little treasures. It's warm, inviting, professional, and clean. Emma Sheahan aka Faby, is my stylist and I've been going to her for years. She is a color expert!! I can't emphasize this enough. She knows what she is doing, which is hard to come by in hair colorist. I've done every color in the book, and she hits it right on everytime. I can't trust anyone else with my hair. I went platinum blonde a couple years ago and she did a wonderful job! She avoided damaging my hair unnecessarily like other stylist might do then charge a fortune. The quality of her work is hard to come by these days, so I'd say her prices are reasonable. I came to Covina to have my car serviced at a local car shop. While waiting for my car I walked around downtown Covina and came across Que Bella Salon. What a gem of a place. The Stylist thing there was Lorenzo he took personal and incredible care. He listen to my thoughts and concerns. He made some recommendations and reassured me. Very easy person to talk to. He cut my hair first. Color was applied followed by wash and rinse. Blow dry & final standings done perfection beyond my expectation. Jesse is amazing!.. I went in for the first time just to get a simple cut and style. I ended up getting high lights as well, and they turned out great! I got so many compliments at the birthday celebration I went to the next day. Not only did Jesse highlight, cut and style my hair, but he gave me an aroma therapy massage, facial, and he did my nails!! I've never been so pampered at a hair salon! My husband got me a Groupon to try a mani/pedi at this place in our area. The Groupon was very specific that I needed to make an appointment and let the salon know I was using a Groupon. I called to make an appointment to get a mani/pedi (which is what the Groupon was for) and they were booked for the weekend. I asked when the next available weekend was? The lady on the phone told me they were booked "for weeks" and made no effort to try to find another appointment. I called a couple of weeks later and this time I didn't mention that I was going to use a Groupon to see if I could get in. Again I was told that the manicurist was out of town and to call back. The Groupon expires in 3 months of purchase but I wasn't worried b/c the Salon wasn't trying to honor it and I know Groupon will give me a full refund. I walked in the next month after it was expired and told them in person that it was such a hassle to get an appointment over the phone. The stylist/receptionist was on her cell when I walked in and put the person on hold. She then handed me her cell and said "here talk to the manager, he's on the phone". I told the manager what happened with the Groupon and he said he would get me in for a mani/pedi next week. After hanging up with him, the stylist told me she would do a mani or pedi today if I had time and then come back for the other next week. I wanted both at the same time but I was already there so I received a pedi. She was nice but the damage was already done. The area where mani/pedis are done, was not ideal. It was a little section in the salon and the stylist already had a customer before she took me in. Every foot she would stop and either go wash out her other customer's hair or ask her to wait. It was horrible. She went from toes to hair! That's completely unsanitary. Then she scheduled my mani for the following week. I received an automatic text reminder one day before the appointment and then a confirmation phone call from the manager. I arrived at my apt about 20 mins early and the manager made sure to tell me I was early and no one was going to be ready until my scheduled time. I told him it was not a problem but the manager kept fishing for answers to "when you scheduled your appointment, did the stylist tell you to bring your Groupon?" and "What exactly did she tell you when you saw her last time?" They were absurd questions like I was being interviewed to get the stylist in trouble. I told the manager I would run a quick errand and then come back. I arrived at my scheduled time 20 mins later. The manager was no where in site and another stylist came up to me and gave me a message from the manager that the lady that scheduled my appointment is in Texas and she's the only one who can do nails. I knew he was just the messenger but I asked why my appointment was confirmed via text, phone call, and then, it wasn't mentioned to me when I was here 20 mins ago? The messenger asked for my mailing address so they could refund my money. I said absolutely not. I don't know what kind of business you are running and there's no way I am giving you my address. This salon is not for mani/pedi's. It's a hair salon. The manager has no idea how to deal with employee problems or problems in general. Take your business elsewhere! I don't know how this salon got all these great reviews. I called several times to get an appointment and no one would answer. After about the 4th call someone answered. I was able to book an appointment for 2 weeks later. On the day of my appointment I show up,the salon is closed. I wait for about 10 minutes someone shows up. I walk in and explain I have an appointment with "Sabrina", I'm told Sabrina isn't in yet. OK no biggie I go to use the restroom come out and I'm told " Sabrina" didn't have any appointments that day. But she would call back i n 15 minutes to let me know if she could make it or not. At this point needless to say I'm not happy and didn't feel like wasting anymore of my time with this salon. By the way at no point did she ask my name to check in the appointment book to see if I had been booked another day by mistake, clearly the mistake was mine by trying to give this local businesses a shot. read more

I LOVE it here! It took me awhile to finally do the drive from Venice to W. Covina to get my hair done but it was totally worth it! I had not gotten my hair cut in forever and i was a little nervous because I have very long and curly hair but Lorenzo was GREAT...he gave me just the right amount of layers and then added highlights which I had not had done in over 5 years! I love my cut and color...I have gotten sooo many compliments on my hair...I am sooo happy with the finished project! The salon is so cute and they make you feel right at home...everyone there is so nice and welcoming! i have finally found a salon I will go back to over and over again even if it is sooo far from where I live...it is worth it! Delayed review. I discovered this salon through Groupon and made an appointment with Jesse. I waited a little while when I arrived (no biggie) but it took FOREVER to get my hair done. I got highlights and a cut and he actually did a pretty nice job but as a working mom I dont have the luxury of 5-6 hours to spend a salon. I would love to go back since I really loved my hair but I simply dont have the time. The ambiance of the salon is also not as relaxing as other Aveda salons but the owner mentioned that they were going to remodel when I visited. read more

This salon is a rip off. They sell Groupons for manicures but once you arrive the Manicurist disappears and Lorenzo offers to cut your hair or makes fun of you saying he will give you a pedicure. I think they use the manicure groupons as a lure so that Lorenzo can try to get you to cut your hair or style your hair. This place redeemed by groupons and then gave me and my daughter such a hard time on Mother's day weekend. My daughter was crying because she felt bad that they had treated us so wrong when we just walked in to get a service we had already paid for. This guy Lorenzo did not give me any apology but handed me a check and refused to provide services. His comments that he made as we stood there and waited were so rude and uncalled for. 11 years ago a friend recommended Que Bella to me. I, who always went to Beverly Hills or to the "valley" to have my hair done,refused to let anyone in Covina touch me. One day, after years of driving to get my hair colored and styled, I decided to visit Que Bella. I walked in the door and sat on the sofa for a couple of hours watching Lorenzo, the owner and master sylist,work his wonders on clients. I was absolutely enthralled with his talent and very impressed with the necklines that he created. Not seeing one person walk out of there looking bad (like a lawnmower had gone over the scalp instead of a stylist's hands and a scissor)as I had seen many times in Covina ,Idecided to make an appointment. A week later I sat in Lorenzo's chair, and for the first time , I allowed a new person to color, cut and style my hair. Wow, was I ever surprised! There was no more running to Beverly Hills for me or to the valley. I was hooked, especially when my husband, who hates short hair, told me that I looked 10 years younger and that he loved my hair. Wherever I go, from Florida, New York,Maryland, and all parts of California, including Hometown Buffet, my doctor's office, the 99 cent store, a furniture store, and today, at 31 Flavors, people stop me to compliment my hair. I do it myself in 15 minutes, and I am out the door...........Lorenzo has an innate talent, one with which he was born, and his skills were honed by his schooling and continue to be embellishedby the workshops that he attends and gives. He is a natural, and I have complete faith in his abilities. got a manicure and pedicure here as a first AM appointment. since i was traveling from a bit further i arrived a few minutes early and noticed that they weren't opened quite yet. hung out at the italian grocery a few doors' down and then popped in and was professionally greeted and offered coffee, tea, or water. i really enjoyed my pedicure - she took her time, was chatty but not overly so (they also had magazines off to the side) but also had to care for a few other customers, phone calls since she was the only person at the salon for about an hour. they don't have a very large selection of colors but since i'm not very picky/particular it was A-OK with me. she spent about 90 minutes on my pedicure, including a lower leg massage, and then spent the last 30 minutes on my manicure. she assumed i was getting gel, which I wasn't and later regretted because right after my appointment i headed across the street to the post office to mail a package. after cramming my stuff in the box i looked down and my manicure was completely ruined. i didn't head back to let them know because it wasn't their fault but a big bummer. i had a groupon/livingsocial deal and overall had a positive experience so the price was definitely right but unsure if i'd pop by based on their regular prices (seems like mainly more of a hair than nail studio). read more

Came here with a Groupon. Having never tried this salon before and not knowing anyone personally who had, but going only based on good Yelp reviews, I desperately needed cut and color and couldn't afford it without a coupon, so I decided to take a risk. Hadn't been happy with my old stylist for quite some time anyway. When I came in, I was greeted by Lorenzo who was talkative and friendly. I sat down with Jessi while he, Lorenzo, and I discussed what I wanted. I told them how I always wanted cool blonde highlights but was never able to achieve them. Past hairdressers always ended up giving me a golden honey blonde, which is not what I wanted. We agreed to do a full color to get my hair back to its original dark blonde/light brown, and then put in light, cool blonde highlights. While I only wanted a simple cut, Jesse suggested some layers and I decided to just let him do his thing. Jessi worked on my hair for a long time and gave me the most fabulous cut I have had in years. What's more, I got the color I wanted for the first time ever. When I debuted my new look at work the next day, everyone couldn't stop raving about how wonderful I looked. I am definitely going to return and have Jesse as my regular stylist from now on.
