I loved the resort app that told me what activities were available everyday, Some of the activities offered are yoga in the mornings, sound healing in the evening, paddle boarding all day, water aerobics at 11. Turtle talk in the afternoon. Latin dancing in afternoon. Monday there is a turtle painting class. It was empty during this off season time so there was always a chair or cabana available at the pool or down at the beach no matter what time you went. You could always get a seat on the main lobby bar and get a seat at a restaurant with hardly any wait at peak times. The first three days there was barely any sargassum. It did come in heavy around 2 pm my fourth day but the team works hard every morning to clear it on the main beach area. I will be happily returning during this off season.

When vacationing you want to enjoy your time not be getting scolded by the staff. I am a native spanish speaker and was still being treated horribly. When walking to use the bathroom at the restaurant I was stopped by a man guarding the door who greeted me as "hey girl are you eating at the restaurant." I am a full grown woman. The man at the entrance tried saying something to me without even looking in my direction so I had no idea he was a addressing me. Then he processed to scold me, " hey did you not hear me!" No thank you. Also, Like many of the property owners in the area, they are illegally charging a fee to access the beach which is suppose to be public property and free with an open road access. Also, if you arrive by taxi you have to wait "under a tree" waiting for one to arrive and take you back. We waited a very long time to find one. Would never stay here but would def. Although the beach here is sandy, there are lots of submerged rocks, a 15 minute walk up the beach brings you to good snorkeling territory. There's a kiddy pool for little ones and a bigger pool to keep older kids entertained. You can stock your kitchen at the Super-Ched market 15 minutes up the carretera. The restaurant has limited selection, but is inexpensive and everything is good. A bottle of Pacifico with chips and guac go down pretty nicely with the ocean view in the afternoon. The small village of Akumal is a 15 minute walk north. Tasty ice cream and yummy pastries can be found at the Turtle Bay Cafe. The city of Tulum is 25 min south, were you'll find Mayan ruins, bars and restaurants and tourist kitch. Just south of Akumal is Aktun Chen a "natural park" with caves, swimming in a cenote and zip-lines. We went for a week and didn't want to leave. We hope to go back next year!

They had evening entertainment such as a magic show, several musicians (pianist/singer, cellist, violinist), 6 or 7 restaurants, pools, and lots of fun in the sun. We stayed on the luxury adults only side, but would also venture over to the family side for some of the shows as well as for the beach (beach was much better on that side). We had a relaxing vacation, met friendly staff, and can't wait to visit again.

It was honestly a little wild. The only other downside was the main pool seating situation. If you're hoping to grab two chairs together, especially later in the morning, it can be surprisingly difficult. That said, the friendly staff, great pools, solid dining options, and reasonable pricing made for an enjoyable stay overall. Just be prepared for some very persistent membership sales pitches.
