The staff was helpful and friendly, and they were actively roasting coffee beans when I arrived, which was fun to see and added to the experience. I ordered a chai tea latte, and it was a strong four out of five. The atmosphere and experience of seeing the beans roasted had me setting my expectations higher, for something that might completely knock my socks off. The chai didn't quite reach that level, but it was still very enjoyable. I'm going to give this a strong four stars, mostly because I reserve five stars for the best of the best. While this was really, really good, I have had better. That being said, for a smaller local town, this coffee shop does an amazing job and could easily hold its own against some of the best coffee shops in much larger cities. I would absolutely encourage anyone visiting Madison to stop by. Grab a drink and enjoy it inside, or take it with you for a walk around the extremely cute downtown area. She changed her order to a fried chicken tender sandwich but received a club sandwich instead. By the time we realized it we had driven too far away to turn back. The club sandwich was just okay. I tasted of it and it would have been better without the avocado mash but that's just my personal preference. My daughter didn't care for it at all. The young man at the window was nice and polite. I would like to try a salad from there or the breakfast items and coffee. The sandwiches just didn't hit the mark for us though.
