My daughter and I ran by the drive through today and we were so disappointed. We purchased 2 sandwiches and one bag of chips totalling over $20. I got the wrap sandwich with ham instead of turkey. It was supposed to have apples in it and it didn't; also there was enough mustard/mayo on there to make 10 wraps. When I bit into it all I had was mustard/mayo. Messy and not good. I would not purchase that again. My daughter ordered The Balboa and was informed at the window that they were out of steak. She changed her order to a fried chicken tender sandwich but received a club sandwich instead. By the time we realized it we had driven too far away to turn back. The club sandwich was just okay. I tasted of it and it would have been better without the avocado mash but that's just my personal preference. My daughter didn't care for it at all. The young man at the window was nice and polite. I would like to try a salad from there or the breakfast items and coffee. The sandwiches just didn't hit the mark for us though. read more

Since they opened, my husband and I have been wanting to check out Woodlands Coffee Roasters & Café, and we finally made it happen on a Sunday evening around 6pm (they close at 7pm daily). From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt like a cozy cabin retreat with rustic accents. It was clear that a lot of intentional thought went into designing this space, it's one of those cafés where you keep noticing little details the longer you're inside. Merch is everywhere in a very on-brand way. Immediately to the right, there are T-shirts, mugs, and other coffee-related items for sale, including ground coffee beans. Just about everything is branded with the café's name. Personally, I'm not sure I'd wear a hat or T-shirt with a restaurant's name unless I worked there, but I can see how fans of the brand would enjoy it. Seating options are plentiful and varied, which I really appreciated. You can sit inside, on the rooftop, or on the outside patio. According to their website, they also rent out the Legacy Room, rooftop, fire pit in the rear, or even the entire house, with pricing clearly listed. They also host monthly events, which makes this spot feel very community-oriented. While it wasn't super crowded when we arrived, the chatter was lively and created a nice, welcoming energy. The staff matched that vibe, friendly, warm, and attentive from the start. The menu offers a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and smoothies, along with breakfast, lunch, and a custom brunch menu on Sundays. I would love to see more vegetarian options added to the menu, though. That said, there was a solid pastry selection, including several vegan and gluten-free options, which was nice to see. I ordered one of the January specials, the White Mocha Valencia Latte, and my husband went with an Americano. Drinks are available in 12oz, 16oz, and 20oz sizes. We also ordered the Flatbread. The online menu listed mushrooms as an optional topping, but they didn't have any available, so I opted for no toppings. We decided to eat the flatbread there, and a very amicable young lady brought it out to our table. I really appreciated that the staff took the time to double-check with the kitchen before saying no to anything. I asked if they had crushed red peppers for the very cheesy flatbread, and after checking, she let me know they didn't. My latte was enjoyable, well balanced and sweet without being overbearing. The flatbread was just okay for me. I wasn't a fan of the marinara, and I think crushed red peppers would have helped elevate the flavor had they been available. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Woodlands. The space was clean, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was ideal for writing, reading, or catching up with friends over coffee. This was a very good cafe! The atmosphere was perfect, and the workers were kind and got our drinks out quickly. There were lots of different seating options and food choices. The only problem I had was with my Woodlaccino. It was very good, but didn't taste very much like coffee, so there was room for improvement. I still enjoyed it very much and recommend it, though. This is a very nice coffee/brunch spot. They have a drive through and tons of dine-in and outdoor seating with fire pits. There is also a hidden second level with even more seating. Their menu is huge and they frequently change up their seasonal items. They also have a ton of food and dessert items, so it's not just coffee. I stopped in and ordered a large iced latte, sweet in flavor, a build-your-own waffle with honey, strawberries, and powdered sugar, and a milk smoothie to go. Was I happy with my drink and breakfast entrees by the time I ordered them and received them? Yes, I was. Service is prompt, and waiting times are expected based on how busy they are and what is being ordered. The staff is nice and friendly; good conversation was had with them, making it a great experience. There is plenty of parking in front of the location, which is convenient if you don't want to walk far, especially if the coffee shop gets busy during the day or evening hours before closing. Keep in mind if you use the drive thru their menu is a little more limited but still pretty amazing. Usually I love woodlands. I've come in a Couple of times for lunch and got the sandwiches and they are very good. Today I came in for brunch and I have to say I was very disappointed. I ordered the shrimp and grits from their brunch menu for $17 and received a small bowl of runny grits with a couple shrimp. The grits and shrimp were so over seasoned I could barely eat it because of how salty it was. The portion was also very small for what it was I was still hungry. read more

This is such a nice place, and different than any other coffee shop in town! First, it is huge, with plenty of seating. It's super cute inside with a bit of a Tuscan, a bit industrial, and a bit cafe feel. The menu includes coffee (of course), tea & smoothies, but also waffles, flatbread, sandwiches, salads, and pastries. You order at the counter and they bring the food/drinks right out. We went on opening weekend and they were extremely busy (as expected.) We waited in line to order for about 30 minutes at lunch on the opening Saturday. And our food & drinks were out in less than 10 minutes. We had an opportunity to speak with the owner as well. They have such a great vision, a great mission, and great employees. They served us sauced chicken tenders/ without any eating utensils. We asked three times. No one brought them to our table. This was my first time coming here. They made a big deal about this place when it first opened on the news. I'm complaining because I spent $50 for garbage. You can't overcharge and then the service and product are both trash! This is a most welcome addition to the Kathleen area! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff were all very helpful, patient, and kind. The ambience is very pleasant. The food and coffee were both fantastic. Very good quality, tastes delicious, and reasonable prices. I had a vanilla caramel latte and the big monte and both were amazing. My wife had the chai tea latte and the mama's boy. She loved the chai. She did like the waffle, but her egg was a little over cooked. She wanted a runny yolk, but it was solid. Otherwise still great. Everything seems very well thought out. They have some logistics to work out as any new establishment would, but I believe they have a much greater chance of success than other places that have come and gone over the years. read more
