Let me be clear: the service here like most other nail places is rude and curt, with very little English spoken, pretty common for a nail place. The front desk even gets on a loudspeaker to address the entire room at once at times, not so great if you're trying to sit back and enjoy a pedicure. That said, there are a few standout people here that keep me coming back to get my nails turned around in under an hour for 33 bucks. You can't beat that. Not to mention I'm pretty hard on my hands, before Crystal I would break a nail in 4 weeks or chip something for sure. Now I never have problems. Her products and skills are top notch! When I left there on Tuesday, my fingers were bleeding because my nail tech said she had to pull out a hangnail. This was nonsense because I had no pain or irritation until afterwards. Quick walk-in, no appointment. Desk lady welcoming/polite. Requested dip. Technician did well removing previous dip, gentle with nail grinder while prepping my nails. However, the end result is NOT flattering. The layers on my fingers are THICK. She didn't smooth down towards the cuticle to give a natural look. Instead it appears I have press-on nails that sit above my fingers, you can feel the gap/ridge it's so thick. She didn't clean out underneath my nails after. Brought my mom for a mani pedi and they cut my mom's finger and made it bleed, then proceeded to get gel nail polish all over her skin and didn't even clean it off. The manicurist apologized but I'm surprised they still charged us the full price. My pedicure looks terrible, you can see it's not filled in all the way and it was unevenly painted. I have been a faithful customer of Queen Bee's even with some pretty big hiccups for the last 8 years and have always given them a decent although guarded review.. I always use the same 2 manicurists and today was no exception. There is a woman there that does pedicures and is very obnoxious with her body language and her upselling and I pretty much had it with her today. I asked for the basic pedicure and and she kept trying to up- charg me and telling me to get the "Queen Bee" special which would save me a lot of money when I told her I would she kept up selling me on that and the last straw was when she tried to charge me an additional $5 To file down an injured toenail that they had botched the last time I had been in. I told the girl she was wasting her time trying to upcharge me since I was now at the Queen bee pedicure level. Which by the way is about $20 more than the original one that I had wanted to get she just would not stop and her body language .. her exhaling heavily when I denied the extra $5 charge every time Took its toll. One of the worst manicures I've ever received. Not only was my finger cut because of excessive filing, but the gel polish is uneven. It is streaky and does not cover my full nail. The nail tech did not file off or soak off my old gel completely, so the polish is also bumpy. My nails are uneven and my hands are excessively oily. I cannot imagine why this establishment felt that this work was acceptable. I did go in to ask for a second topcoat and they did do a second one that was similar to the first. They also scratched my cuticles and cut them again and did not fix all the problems mentioned above. At this point the only way to fix would be a whole new set. Came here for a pedi and my sister asked for a fill. When my sister asked for her nails to be filed the lady stated to say she could but it would be extra money. Never heard of anyone charging extra for nails to be filed when getting a fill. After my sister said she no longer wanted a fill the lady became upset and walked away then proceeded to talk to another nail tech about my sister in front of another customer. Ok to be fair I gave myself 24hrs to cool off and I am still upset... My mom, sister and I have been coming to this place since end of July 2019. I have had pretty good service. I usually just get polish change on toes and eyebrow wax at Queen Bee. I have been getting my acrylic nails done off and on for over 17 years. I had a different nail tech elsewhere who ran her independent nail business, and did amazing 3D nail and art work on me all the time. Safe to say I know quality nail work when I see it. My tech recently changed careers. So for the first time, in October, I had Queen Bee Nails do my nail fill (extra long red stiletto nails).They came out great! When I went back to have my nails soaked off, the nail tech convinced me to just cut them short to keep my nails from becoming too brittle. I explained to her I wanted a gel light color base with gold glitter gradient starting at the cuticle on my hands. (No big deal, I had the other lady who was doing my pedicure do the same thing, but with a spiced pumpkin base color, and it came out great!) When the tech was applying the gel to my nails I noticed it was bubbling in some parts and that she'd missed several spots on the sides of my nails that had no color/gel. I asked her if she could fix it. She applied another coat on the spots she missed and told me she would cover up the air bubbles with the gel glitter. She seem annoyed that I pointed out the flaws. When she did my first hand with the glitter there was no gradient look, just a hard line. I explained to her that I wanted to see a more gradient separation, like on my toes. (I said this quietly to not make a scene, my mother who was sitting right next to me did not even hear me). The nail tech immediately became defensive and argumentative towards me, because I was unhappy with how my nails were coming out. She said she would fix it. I let her finish her job, and when she asked me if I like it, I quietly said "no". Again she became so upset and started telling me that it was the gel brushes fault, because it was old, and that the reason my toes look different, is because I used regular polish not gel. She pretty much explained how it's impossible to do a proper gradient with gel glitter on a light colored gel base. (Keep in mind she is yelling at me at a high volume this whole time). I tell her "I not going to argue with you. That's not why I come here. I don't want to be stressed out." She aggressively states in a very condescending tone "I'm not arguing. What do you want? How can I make you happy?" At that point I told her "do whatever, I'm done." I was so humiliated by the scene she had caused, and everyone was looking at her and how she talked to me. The entire time she was removing her messed up gel job, I had tears rolling down my face. She knew I was unhappy, and knew I was crying. The two techs working on my mom's mani pedi kept looking over at me, then at her. They looked so nervous too, because they saw how unprofessional she was. She still ended up charging me $66 for a fill and basic pedicure. Safe to say I will not be going to her again. I don't know her name, I just noticed she has a very small pinky. I had my nails done here three times and each time I was less satisfied than the last. The last time the service was done by a man who zipped through the whole pedicure in 15 minutes flat. I asked "are you in a hurry?" and he replied, "if you want a better pedicure, you have to pay for the deluxe one". I paid the basic $38 plus a $5 tip and expected to have the nails cleaned (they weren't) and at least a short massage. Also, the polish started to chip off within a week.
