The young woman who gave me a pedicure was very good and gave a great massage. The young man who did my manicure simultaneously was nice enough, but he seemed distracted and apparently used unclean tools that resulted in a paronychial infection in one of my nails. I've never had this before but it was painful, red, and infected. The infection began about a day or so after the manicure and took about 5 days to clear up with frequent soaks in warm salt water and an antibacterial ointment. Quite unfortunate, my first time getting this type of infection that is so easily preventable. Still looking for a great salon...with clean tools. read more

This place is typically pretty good but I was unfortunately sat in a massage seat that wasn't working. They could have moved me to another open seat but didn't want to because my feet were already soaking. The pedicure was nice and she did a good job but it was so hot in the salon. No AC or if the had it they weren't turning it on. So between the non-functioning massage chair and sweating through the pedicure, it wasn't the best experience. Let's hope my polish lasts! read more

I do not recommend coming here at all. They rushed through the manicure and did not wait for nails to dry between coats which of course ruined the polish. They made my cuticles bleed while removing them. They also did not remove calluses during the pedicure. Would not return. read more

I got a mani pedi the other day and it was quite disappointing. The pedicure was ok except for the extreme impatience and eye roll and huff when I wanted to change my color before she had even painted my nails. The manicure was extremely aggressive. Even after I told her she was hurting me she continued in the same manner. The massage was more like slapping oil on me and then she started to piant my nails but my nails were still jagged so I asked her to file them first so they were all even and shaped the same way because some were square and some were round and still jagged. She grabbed my hand and filed my nails so hard she cut two of my fingers and 3 others and rough and the skin is peeling on my fingertips. It felt like a chop shop. I've had a hard time finding a reliable nail salon in Encinitas, and thought maybe I'd found my new go-to with this place. Unfortunately after today I'll never be back. I made an appointment morning-of for a gel mani and pedi. I showed up on time, but waited close to 30 mins before I was seated. It's a holiday weekend, so I can understand that they're busy. That's fine. I was finally seated in a chair for a pedicure and all seemed to be going fine, until it was time for the manicure. I had a relatively simple nail design picked out and had gotten a very similar design the last time I came to this nail salon. I showed the nail tech the photo of the design on my phone, and after doing the base gel color, she attempted to do the design (it was a design on one nail on each hand). I could quickly tell that she wasn't familiar with doing any sort of design work and the experience very quickly went downhill. After a few rounds (and about 20 mins) of doing and re-doing the design, it was clear that it wasn't going to work out. I told her to just forget it and do a plain color on the nail. She attempted to remove and paint over the design with more of the gel color, however, there was still a clear outline and of the white design underneath the bright blue polish (picture below). At this point I could tell she was quickly trying to finish up--I get it, I'm tired of being here too--but the final straw in this bad experience was when was she doused my nails in some sort of cuticle oil and walked away. I left the salon feeling greasy and totally unsatisfied with the quality of the manicure, and like I'd just wasted my time and money. I'll never be back here. The search continues for a decent salon in Encinitas! read more

The worst!!!! Would give them zero stars if I could!!! I stopped going to this place about a year ago because they are so rude and kept on taking appointment after appointment and could not keep up! I went to get my nails done during my lunch break after making an appointment a week prior and they made me wait 35 minutes before taking me. I had to leave half way through, as I had to get back to work, and come back the next day for them to finish. I vowed to never go back again... This time I agreed to go back with a friend as we were desperate to get our nails done. I thought I would try them again hoping a year later things had changed. I made an appointment the day before for 2 acrylic refills. When we got there they were telling me to go to the pedicure spa and I told them I didn't book for a pedi. Nick started my Nails and when my friend sat down they asked if she was getting a manicure and she replied full set acrylic. They said they didn't have time for her only a manicure which is not what we booked for. I told them that we would leave if they couldn't do it as we already booked for 2 acrylics. They insisted I booked for a manicure and pedi and told us it was ok to leave. Out of frustration we walked out with my nails half done. Never going back again!!! read more

I gave this salon a second chance after the first visit, and I wish I hadn't. On my first appt I was happy with how my gel mani looked, but it started peeling on the sides in just a few days. Since the manicurist was nice and it looked good, I thought maybe it was bad luck or something I did, but it happened again the second time even with a plain color. The experience was not good either. A younger girl did my nails the second appt and was really unhelpful. I had to ask her to make them shorter multiple times, and even pointed to a nail as an example of the length and shape I wanted. She just didn't seem to listen or care at all - it was super unprofessional and strange. Ended up with almond shape even though I asked for (and showed) oval, and they are lifting so easily. Oh and she filed my nails all over me and could not care less that I was covered in the shavings. Their prices are low, but it's not worth it for a mani that doesn't even last two weeks. I gave an extra star because they do have massage chairs, which was honestly the best part. read more

As someone visiting for the week I was weary of trying a new salon, but so happy I did. Round2: I went back a few hours later (45 mins before closing) to get a pedicure. Once again I was able to be seated right away. The service was amazing and didn't feel rushed at all. He even polished my daughters toes too.
