Based on the quality of their food alone, I would give, without hesitation, a five-out-of-five for Queen Sushi. Yass! Among the finest presentations of sushi I've been served. My order was extensive and a bit complicated (as usual), yet it was prepared flawlessly. The garnishes on the individual pieces meticulously applied. Fresh and inviting, arrayed with an artistic flair for color and balance. The "Mango Tango" roll, extraordinary. My seaweed salad, everything about it was perfection. The others in my group of four went the Cantonese route, tofu fried rice, a seafood noodle dish, which were judged superior. Throughout the evening, we all agreed it was a fantastic dinner we enjoyed. BYOB and relax. While not over-the-top in its décor, Queen Sushi's dining area is clean and orderly, serene even. Lit by large windows looking out upon the shaded, peaceful streets of Glenside. In fact, we found everything Queen Sushi has to offer so satisfying, it is a shame, really, to enter a complaint, but nonetheless. As I find more and more, no matter how lovely the establishment, the service is often wanting, and this impacted our experience. Had I not mentioned the appetizer I had ordered, it would have been overlooked, I am certain, because another appetizer we ordered was indeed completely forgotten. And I know that sushi preparation is a separate affair from the kitchen, which can lead to food arriving at different intervals - not unusual. But the considerable length of time the rest of my group was made to wait listening to me ooh and aah over my sushi was more than a little awkward. It so happens that I am a slow eater, so even though the hot entrees arrived late, we all finished neck-and-neck, but I should not have been given such a head start. Things happen, I understand. Yesterday was only our second time visiting Queen Chinese and Sushi, and that is not a knock against this Chinese/Japanese fusion restaurant. We often times just opt for take-out Chinese, and we have a great take-out place very close to us. However, Queen is a nice sit-down Chinese restaurant, which are few and far between. We are vegetarian, so we ordered two vegetable dishes to share. The Chinese eggplant was delicious, with the eggplant diced into small pieces mixed with vegetables, and the Szechuan-style tofu was also delicious, filled with lots of big pieces of tofu and many vegetables that were cooked perfectly. I had a really good experience here, while waiting for a show at the nearby Keswick theatre. The atmosphere was comfortable here as well as relaxed. Nothing fancy, however, but it was clean and inviting. The waiter we had was friendly and attentive without hovering, and our food came out quicker than I expected. We have been patrons for many years. We had an unpleasant experience during Covid with their (burned) Peking duck. Which they picked up and never offered an apology or replacement. Gave them another chance and weren't disappointed until this evening. Order for delivery placed with a 30 - 45 minute delivery. Called at 1 hour and the driver was lost. Not a destination spot by any means, but for those looking for a convenient and decent spot with generally friendly service, this is that type of place. I've been a regular customer of this company because their sushi is really good. I usually order through DoorDash since my food tends to arrive faster that way, and they often have no delivery fees. Every time, I add a note requesting extra crunch on all my sushi rolls and some extra crunch in the bag. In the past, I was never charged for this. However, today I received a call from someone claiming to be the supervisor at Queen Sushi. He asked if I meant extra crunch both on the rolls and in the bag, as I hadn't specified that in the notes. I confirmed, and he said there would be an additional $3 charge. I was immediately upset because I've been a loyal customer, ordering at least once a month, and I've never been charged for the extra crunch before. I told him I didn't mind paying the $3, but I would write a negative review and stop supporting their business. I also mentioned that I know others who order from here and like extra crunch on their sushi, and I'd advise them to stop ordering too. Instead of accommodating me as a loyal customer, he chose to cancel my order. So, if you're planning to request extra crunch on your sushi rolls, be aware that you'll be charged extra, and they won't accommodate you as a valued customer. read more

This is a tough review. We order often from Queen. The food is consistently good for suburban Chinese. This time we ordered through the Yelp app and requested delivery. Delivery is handled by GrubHub. Two hours later, we still hadn't received our order so I checked the app. The app indicated that the food had been delivered 45 minutes earlier. It was sitting on our front steps on a cold night. The delivery person had just dropped It there without knocking. It was cold. I must note, first, that delivery orders placed directly through Queen are always prompt and hot. Secondly, I need to note that GrubHub refunded the total order price. That said, we wanted a prompt, hot meal. Not a free late, cold meal. The moral of the story, for us, is just call Queen and order directly from now on. read more

So I had stopped here before years ago and remembered the Chinese food being really good. So New Year's Day, I fall my usually Chinese spot and they are closed. I have to say I'm pretty picking about Chinese food because lots of places don't put like any peas or carrots in their fried rice and that is essential for me! I picked this spot instead because I knew they do their fried rice the way I like it. The crab rangoons were not shaped the way I was used to but they were large and had lots of filling, actually one of my favorite items I got. The egg rolls were a little small, but a great little appetizer nonetheless. The general tso's chicken could have more broccoli in the order, but was perfectly cooked and super flavorful. The fried rice I obviously enjoyed. Now I took a chance and ordered vegetable Lo mein, which I love but can find it to be hit or miss depending on the restaurant, was so good! It was loaded with broccoli and tasted PERFECT! And the plus side was everything came out to be cheaper than what it would have been if I ordered from my usual spot. Can't beat that! read more

Queen is wildly inconsistent. One order the triple delight will be covered in spicy sauce and the next no sauce and no spice. Sushi is pedestrian at best bordering on supermarket level. They are reopening the dining room so hopefully things will get better. They do make very good dumplings but if you want real Chinese flavors, go somewhere else. read more

My friends and I were going to the Lauryn Hill concert and wanted to eat before going to the concert. We chose Queen sushi because it is right next to the Keswick Theater and it was real convenient for us. My bff lives close by and suggested it also. She did state it isn't a fancy place, and it is a BYOB but said sushi is decent but not the best. Walking in, it looks like a hole in the wall. When we get to hostess stand she was on the phone and did not acknowledge us...Then a waiter seats us to our booth and we get settled in. Before we order we asked for wine glasses for our wine..when the waiter came back he came with 3 tumblers..yes tumblers for our wine.. It is a BYOB so they should have wine glasses.. When we first sat down they brought out complimentary fried noodles and duck sauce.. Which was nice. Then we ordered steamed dumplings... So yummy..the filling was very flavorful. Then we all ordered different rolls sushi rolls.. I wanted to add this restaurant also has Chinese food it is not only sushi. When our sushi came out they were ok not horrible but I definitely have had a lot better. I can't say the food was bad but not great ...now for service..they need more training.. As a new resident in the area, I needed a good place to order Chinese food from. After receiving a good review from a local, I decided to give Queen Sushi a try. Definitely recommend. The food comes faster than expected, is hot, tastes fresh, and even includes free pork fried rice if you spend over $20. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because they messed up an order and would only give me the correct item if I paid additionally for it. Otherwise I have had no issues and definitely recommend. As an eat in restaurant, I was very impressed. I have been one time and the food came out very quickly. I enjoyed everything I ate and the price was reasonable as well. Definitely the place to go for delicious and affordable sushi. They're an easy drive from Mt. Airy. I've had their Mushu Shrimp, Lunch Specials, Shrimp Fried Rice, and sever sushi rolls. Unfortunately, they dropped the ball on the Chicken Teriyaki which was terribly dry, overcooked and likely previously frozen from the taste; the accompanying broccoli was undercooked. I was expecting lots of sauce, but it was lightly drizzled on top of two flat, dense sliced chicken pieces. I couldn't say what cut of the chicken I was eating. I quit after a few bites. Queen Sushi is a great option for the surrounding colleges in the area and anyone who lives in Glenside, because they deliver! I've never had a bad experience here. One time I got the chicken and broccoli and it wasn't good but other than that, delicious! They are located in Keswick Village. Whenever I go inside the restaurant no one is ever sitting down to eat, most of their business is from take-out it seems. The restaurant is pretty small too. Delivery never takes long and if you are a student of a surrounding college they have probably delivered their before and will know where to go. read more

Glad to see my go-to childhood Chinese joint is still thriving on Keswick ave. They even had banners up stating they were rated a top 100 Chinese food restaurant in the entire US, not too shabby. Our meal was perfect before hitting the Keswick Theater next door. We started with crispy Chinese pizza and the GINORMOUS fried dumplings. Both just as delicious as I remember, man I miss suburb prices. We then split the garlic chicken which could have used a little more spice but was otherwise perfect. The cashew shrimp also was the perfect blend of veggies and the featured attractions. Along with the entrees we received the fluffy white rice to soak up the various sauces that ensured nothing was left behind. There was no alcoholic drink menu and another table had what looked like a fifth of vodka on their table so this place might be BYOB but don't quote me on that! read more

I was hesitant to try this place, because I had heard a lot of mixed reviews. Sushi is my absolute favorite food, and after living in LA for a couple years, I've found it hard to find sushi that compares here in the Philly suburbs. But I was pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong- it's not the BEST sushi in the world, but it was actually pretty good and they have a wide variety of rolls to choose from. The prices are average, but they have fantastic deals on lunch specials for both sushi and Chinese food. There's also an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet on Tuesdays for $23, which is a pretty good deal if you can eat a lot of sushi. My main complaint is that the service is pretty slow, even when there's literally no one else in the restaurant. The servers are all nice, just a bit inattentive. Overall, I like this place. It's a great spot for lunch. (I haven't tried the Chinese food but my boyfriend has commented that it's "pretty good".) read more

This place is a hit or miss. Been here three times and it's been a miss twice. I just moved to Keswick Village and I was so excited to have a place to get bubble tea and sushi within walking distance! I got bubble tea here the first day I moved, and was annoyed because they didn't seem to understand what I was ordering, and I was making myself very clear. Most of my anger erased when I (mostly) ended up getting what I ordered. Had chinese here with a large group, no problems, not the best not the worst. Tried to get bubble tea here again, hoping maybe it was just the person I originally dealt with, but alas, no. We found ourselves as famished and rushed music fans, with only a short time to spare before a concert at the Keswick. we were quickly seated, efficiently attended to, and accommodated nicely. Being from out-of-town we were unfamiliar with the byob and didn't find out until seated and we'd ordered (I would have run and grabbed a bottle if we would have known going in). But the sushi was fresh and tasty. The dumplings were crispy. I wish we could have had more time to try a few other samplings from the Chinese selections on the menu, but the dishes we saw going to other tables looked very tasty. The atmosphere is very warm and comforting and suites the needs of a quick lunch or a proper dinner. As any location in Keswick Village, parking isn't the best. Such high hopes... People at work were hankering for sushi at lunch, which is a tall order in Jenkintown. We decided to make the drive over to Queen Sushi in Glenside. They offer Chinese and Japanese. That should have been a tip off, but it wasn't for me. The place isn't a dump or anything. It's clean, well maintained and decently lit. I got a spicy tuna roll and a salmon crunch roll. They have lunch specials that are under $11. It just wasn't that good. The texture was weird and the rice rice wasn't sticky sushi rice. No one else in the group liked the rolls they got either. My more melodramatic friend is concerned he has food poisoning. Maybe they are just a better Chinese place. I'm always getting menus from Chinese restaurants and pizzerias, but when you have your standbys, it's not easy for a new place to catch your eye. The menu for Queen came this week, and I wanted to try a few things from their rather large vegetarian selection. They have the usual veggie and bean curd (a.k.a. tofu) entrees, but they also have mock chicken, beef, and duck. We actually ordered carryout the same day I read the menu - I was excited! The food was okay, but I have to admit, it was disappointing. Part of me wants to try another few dishes, but that part is being told to quiet down and not be so charitable. First up - moo shu vegetables. I usually love the cabbage and sweet sauce, and this had the bonus of including broccoli, baby corn, and mushrooms. But the pancakes were dry, stuck together, and inedible. The corn tasted like a can. Not great. Next, vegetarian "beef" with mixed vegetables. The beef tasted like my homemade attempts at seitan, where the stuff still tastes like flour. The sauce was good, but the dish was unremarkable. Finally, we ordered one of the Chef's Specialties - bean curd with general tso's sauce. The silken tofu was deep fried and coated with a sticky, sugary sauce, and there were a few pieces of broccoli alongside. Very disappointing - no spice, no heat, and just sugar and fat for appeal. The two star rating means I've had better. My absolute favorite is Wild Ginger in Huntingdon Valley, and I also prefer China Garden Inn in Willow Grove. I mainly order takeout for this. Their Steamed Pork Dumplings are the BEST. I dunno how they make the soy sauce, but it tastes really, really good with the dumplings. The dumplings also have a lot of meat in them, so I love them :). I would say their specialty is their dumplings (they're even featured in news articles that are hanging on their walls, talking about their special dumplings). I also order their Chicken Mei Fun (rice noodles), which are pretty good, and generously portioned. Their BBQ fried rice was also a nice addition to a meal (not too oily or salty, unlike a lot of Chinese restaurants). I always order their milk tea (according to the receipt, Black Tea with Milk). It's sweet and very pleasant. As for parking, there are lots of spaces in the back, so long as there's no really popular show playing at the Keswick Theater at the time. read more

I worked in Glenside a few years ago and ordered some Chinese from them, before I got into sushi, and was always impressed with their food. Recently I've been able to dive more into the sushi scene and have had a hard time finding good local places. Queen is pretty close to home for me and with a big banner boasting "$20 ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI TUESDAYS" I had to give it a shot. The first time I went was with my friend Adam and we got a lovely variety, I absolutely enjoyed my Volcano roll and Spider roll as well as some of Adam's Hamachi roll. For $20, their all you can eat sushi is a great deal considering how much some of the special rolls can cost. And for a sushi novice like myself, its a great chance to open up and try some more things you're not quite familiar with. This past Tuesday I met up for dinner with another friend of mine who's much more well versed in sushi and he said it was just alright, but I still think it was delicious. As some other reviewers have mentioned, the service could stand some improvement, though each time I was there I've never had a problem, they've been very attentive when my drink was getting low and if the plates were becoming empty. Love this place! Very good sushi for the cost. Not gourmet, but really very very good. Excellent selection, hours and delivery. You can't go wrong. Plus, it's strange to say, but the lady who answers the phone has the best phone etiquette ever. I'll admit, when I order out, I order a lot, and I usually have many special requests. Walked in at 6:15 pm on a Friday night (January 12th, 2018) and we were seated right away in a totally empty restaurant. A few people came in while we were there for takeout, but no other diners besides ourselves. After being seated, it took nearly ten minutes for our waitress to come over. No greeting whatsoever, simply a question, "are you ready to order?" At this byob, they have no wine glasses. We received two water glasses to drink our wine from. Food we ordered included beef n broccoli, Chinese fried noodles, and various sushi rolls. While the sushi rolls were adequate, the other items were well below average in taste and appearance. Unfriendly service and poor quality food are two great reasons not to return to nor recommend Queen Sushi. Very disappointing meal. read more
