First of all this is the cutest country store I've been to. it is very neatly organized and prices are clearly marked. There are many types of apples available to purchase and different sizes of bags so you buy what you need/want. There were all types of jams, butters, frozen berries, apple and pear chips, syrup and so much more. They offer hot cider samples which was appreciated on a cold, windy day. There were many things to find, I picked up some maple syrup, an apple pie, and some dried cinnamon apple chips. The prices were very fair in my opinion and the employees were very friendly. Overall this store was an unexpected surprise and I loved stopping in.

The dog was still in the car 20 minutes later. I asked a young lady manager to assist me and announce for the owner to please go back to her car and retrieve the dog. Well she took her time and she talked with a grin about my request to other workers. Then she laughed saying some lady wants me to announce the owner of the dog to please go to their car. Like a joke still no action taken and grinning in front of employee's and customers like I had lost my mind. Well I called the police they said contact them animal services. Which I did it is illegal. Just at that time now about a half hour dog left alone got angry with me calling me names etc. it's illegal no matter air on in your car which I found out yes I'm right. Here you'll find, a decent plant section in the summer, ice year round, cheap in-season fruits and veggies, the paper, lotto tickets - the usual. Of course my favourite thing about this place is fresh cut flowers in the back. Yesterday, I left with three gorgeous bunches of tulips for 10 bones. Can't beat the price. Really cute and well-priced succulents and cacti. Not to mention, these are not sad little plants. They're in good condition and they're not the varieties that you see everywhere. If you can't get to Dominion or Sobeys (or Kensington, which also has great produce) this is a great second choice! Oh and don't forget to stop and smell some of their absolutely beautiful flower arrangements.

The market runs from June - October and runs along Main Street North and Main Street South. It only runs from 7am - 1pm, so make sure to get there early so you don't miss out on all the fresh goodies. It was a beautiful June day when I stopped by and the weather was perfect! There were plenty of local vendors displaying a variety of products - empanadas, arepas, ice cream, fruits, veggies, breads, and so much more! My aunt and I split a chicken pupusa, which is an El Salvadorian flatbread topped w/ a variety of meats/veggies. It's similar to an arepa if you've had that before. I LOVED it. It was fun to watch them knead the dough, throw it in the fryer and make it fresh right in front of you. We also grabbed some ice cream and some empanadas, all of which were delicious and perfect for the warm June day. One of my flaws (or good qualities...depends who you are) is wanting to buy every single market vendor product I see, especially if it's food. This market was no exception - everything looked delicious! Luckily, I had my grandma around to keep me in check...although she isn't much better than me. If I'm back to visit my fam in the GTA in the summer again, I'll definitely be coming back here.

Yeah really nice lady. Very pleasant to correspond with. Donna, I think? I should know her name... I mean she dropped off honey at the door all through the pandemic once a month. It was great. Well, not for free, not like Santa Claus, I did have to buy it in bulk. I think it was like ~44 bucks or so. That gets you about 2.5 kg of honey but later the threshold cost for deliveries grew larger. Like 60 or 70 bucks worth. Well, it was time to get out of the house but I mean, c'mon, who are these people? Only bears eat that much! Are there black bears in the economy now? No wonder I can't get a job. But she always smiled and waved..must be nice. Or maybe she was just glad to be delivering to a human..instead of a bear for a change. Those boxes were packed very tight and cozy, by the way...never any nick on the jars..more professional than Amazon. Lol. As if I'd ever trust that delivery conglomerate with food. And always exactly what I ordered...not that I'd know the difference...they're all honey. The store is stocked with so many different kinds of honeys...and descriptions...like what region it came from and what season, wildflower or clover or sourwood, and if they taste like berries or if they're bitter or spicy or evaporate in your mouth like dry ice (no actually, none of those last three things). Their descriptions are definitely thought out, however. There was one, I think it said it was 'for kids' or something, and when I tried it the taste was exactly like a slice of childhood drinking honey out of those bear-shaped bottles. They come in 1kg and 500g jars. Around $20 for 1kg. Also there's a 3kg pail, which might be a gimmick but it's on the website so...bears, of course. Some really nice ones get sold out too...like the BrrrGirl one, or BeeGirrrl, or something. I dunno, it was tasty. Maybe the bees took it back. Absolutely Pure is the brand they always have. It's good. There are some interesting mixes as well. I got a honey with lavender...creamed honey...like a spread to put on toast and fries (don't put it on fries). Wonderful! Also, honey with bee pollen in it. What a rich flavour! I didn't try much after that but they have many concoctions and I bet they're all worth it. You can buy wildflower honey or raw honey as the two main categories: Let me warn you, if you have that golden flowing liquid nectar of the gods vision in your head then go with the first one, that's the real honey. Raw honey is the one that's like...vegan..like kale...it's like OJ with pulp when no pulp is so much smoother so why would you bother. Raw is the grainy one, it's the one that solidifies in the cupboard and you have to put it in warm water to rejuvenate it. Get it because it's 'raw' (big applause) or get wildflower, because it's honey. Chapstick-They also have chapstick. They make everything from bees...it's wild. Beeswax chapstick is like wearing the diamond ring you stole from your best friend...the bees will smell it! They will find you!! But I bought it. Actually, bees don't hover around and stab your lips with stingers. Never saw any come close. It just makes your lips smell nice and stay moist. Pure comb honey-This stuff is good! Oof. It's costly and I only ever got it once but it is just the best stuff. All the honey still in its shell, and you get to eat the comb...which is that hexagonal lattice we stole away from those hardworking bees...oh I hope they don't pass on the knowledge. Candles-I got some nice candles here. They have a lot of candles, candle sculptures, made from beeswax. Candles will teach you there's a difference between things being expensive and things being unnecessary. I don't think these are that expensive.
