Dr. Stegall was EXCELLENT. She removed the piece of glass from my wife's foot despite the pain of injecting the lidocaine and the lidocaine not working completely . . . her "Look at this ! No Air Conditioning in the Lobby, but in the exam rooms. The wait for a Physician is about 2.5 hours. On a hot day which is June 2026 is probably 90 degrees in the lobby with slow moving ceiling fans. One doctor is on call. It seems that if you check in for the afternoon (example), you can leave and then come back perhaps in about one to one & one half hours you will get in rather than the 2.5 hour wait. Once you do see a doctor, he is still leaving you to go see another patient during your exam time. Would not recommend because my exam time was about 15 minutes after sitting in a heated lobby. read more

Good quality care. I got checked in pretty quick. There was only 2 people ahead of me and I got an estimate of an hour 1/2 wait time but it was much less than that. Doctor and nurse were nice and seemed like they cared :) Got diagnosed and I got a prescription pretty quickly and I was on my way to pick up my meds and on my road to healing and feeling well :) Overall, I feel much better and now have peace of mind knowing that I was seen by the Dr and not googling my symptoms all night going crazy lol and wait till I get seen by my primary doctor. If I could give 10 stars, I totally would. If you have any type of health issues, this is the place to go to. My husband needed his blood pressure medication refilled as our new doctor couldn't see him until June. The Queen's Care Team suggested we could go to any urgent care and they could facilitate getting a prescription refilled. We did that at the Kahala Urgent Care, gave every excuse possible, turned him away and said we should go to another location. What urgent care turns people away?! It's blood pressure medication, not narcotics! Geez! Anyway, my husband was dejected and thought they were going to do the same thing if we went to any other Urgent Care. I told him to try the Kapahulu location as that's where I went to in the past. So we went there and explained to them what we needed. They were so nice, professional, and very accommodating. The doctor was able to see my husband, examine him, took his vitals, and gave him a refill on his meds to hold him until he sees his new doctor in June. Seems pretty simple and straight forward, but Kahala Urgent Care couldn't do this. So for any of you needing care, definitely go to the Kapahulu location. I went in today after my telehealth urgent care prompted me to go be seen in person. She said that I should have my eyes looked at due to having a new skin issue very close to my eyes with swelling, itching and pain. I went to this urgent hoping that I would be treated. Dr. J. Briceno came in, did not clean his hands and looked at me very disinterested. I told him my symptoms and showed him pictures of varying issues related to my hands and eyes. He barely took a look at me and said "I don't know what it is." He said I'll prescribe something for the eyes and refer to a dermatologist. I asked if he would be taking cultures of the affected areas to which he replied "we only culture open wounds." Then said he would be back and walked out. His mannerism was standoffish and seemed like I was a burden more than a patient he wanted to treat. When he left the room I proceeded to cry from the lack of care. When he returned he came back with culture swabs and said he would run cultures. (This is only because I advocated for myself.) he still did not clean his hands or use gloves. I had to ask him to clean his hands. He washed his hands for about 5 seconds. As a former medical professional I can assure you that a proper hand wash is minimum 20 seconds. Then he said "I'll even put on gloves for you," like he's doing me a favor when it's his duty to practice safe hygiene. He then looks at me crying and I told him I am processing how he was disinterested in what I was experiencing and how he didn't bother to look closely even after the tele health provider asked me to be seen in person. He said he didn't try to make me feel that way then lied in his follow up notes saying I was upset because he told me they only culture open wounds. (Remember that I had told him it was his lack of empathy and really did not have anything to do with the cultures.) medical gas lighting is a real issue. I encourage anyone receiving treatment to always advocate for themselves and record your visit. I didn't record mine and lesson learned. If you ever get this doctor please be aware that he won't be bothered to look closely even when there is broken skin and bumps on my fingers:eyes and say he sees nothing on my fingers and only my eyes. Perhaps he needs to get glasses? Save yourself the trouble and go to the Kahala location, ER or see your PCP if you can wait. read more

Crazy place... I went because I had the flu, and an infection from a dog bite... Sick as a dog, 1st very annoying thing, was the security guard... Watching TV in the waiting room without headphones or an ear bud! Very annoying if your bones are aching and have the flu! He's sitting on a couch, right next to an exit door, where patients exit after leaving the Dr area. This poor girl was on crutches and struggling trying to get out of the door. He was so into his movie he didn't even offer to help! I got up and held the door for her. He didn't even look up! Now I finally got to see a Dr. Told him I had the flu, showed him my dog bite, he suggested a covid test, which I would get the results in 15 min. And left. The nurse came in, gave me instructions and a script for the dog bite, I asked about the test, she had no idea what I was talking about. Said she would check. Came back saying they would call with the results. No meds for the flu, no mention of it. I was so disappointed. The whole thing was insane! Needless to say I'll NEVER go back to that circus! We came in here on a Sunday for an eye problem, were seen immediately by an excellent doctor, given good assessment and diagnosis, medicine and sent on our way. We only had the $25 co-pay per our BlueCross BlueShield insurance. The whole experience was better than what we get at home and the price was exactly as it would be at home. Mutha!!! So how did I end up here??? Oh yeah...........I basically had to come here because there was a possibility that I could have been exposed to Covid-19!!! YIKES!!!!! Lucky for me I have an AWESOME primary care doctor, and after I had texted her about me working at this financial institution in Kaimuki, and the incident I saw on social media/news over the weekend, I basically asked her - "what should I do?" A few things that my doctor had asked me? 1. Was I working within 6 feet of the person that had Covid-19? 2. Was I around that person (who had Covid-19) longer than 15 minutes? Of course I didn't know the answers to any of these questions, because when I was working there (last week Tuesday), I was unaware of any Covid-19 incident, until I saw the post on social media/news five days later (Sunday). After heading back to the financial institution on Monday to talk to the branch manager, and to find out which employee came down with Covid-19.............all my questions were answered. Wanna know the answers to the (2) questions listed above??? It was - 1. YES - I was working working on a machine, and standing right next to the person who had Covid-19. 2. YES - I was working in the financial institution for 5.5 to 6 hours that day. Aiyah!!! So after getting the information to my doctor, the next thing ya know, my awesome primary care doctor puts in an order for a Covid-19 test, and that's how I ended up at the Queen's Island Urgent Care (Kapahulu Location). Let me give you da dirt on how this works when you gotta take a Covid-19 test........... 1. You cannot just get a Covid-19 test, because you want one. Of course, there was an exception on Oahu (when we had our 2nd shut down of the state) the Hawaii Govt. was giving out the Covid-19 test, because the Covid-19 infections were out of control in da 808, and they had to do mass testing to get everything back in order again. 2. If you meet all the contact tracing parameters, then you need to be tested! My awesome pimary care doctor basically puts in an order for me, so that I could get a Covid-19 test. 3. After Queen's Island Urgent Care got the test request order from my doctor, Queen's Island Urgent Care called me up to set up an appointment for me to take my Covid-19 test. In my case, I was able to get my Covid-19 test the same day that it was requested by my doctor. 4. When you show up to the Queen's Island Urgent Care location, drive your car into the parking structure, but DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR!!! 5. Look for the (2) parking stalls that are marked for Covid-19 testing, and park your car in one of the (2) parking stalls. From there, you call the phone number - (808) 735-0007 to let someone from Queen's Island Urgent Care know that you are waiting in the parking lot, and someone from the Urgent Care center will come downstairs to the parking lot to administer the Covid-19 test to you, while you're sitting in your car. 6. As you are sitting in your car, roll down your window (but DO NOT TAKE OFF YOUR MASK)!!! AGAIN, DO NOT TAKE OFF YOUR MASK!!! The health care professional is all geared up with their hazmat suit, and they will instruct you to show them your ID (to verify that your are the right person), then they will instruct you to cough into your mask, then pull down your mask just past your nostril (keep your mouth covered by your mask). 7. The health care professional will then shove a super long swab up your nose for like an eternity (more like 10 seconds or so). I told Bruddah Man - 'Eh, no poke my brain! Okay??? 8. And that's it! Easy peasy!!! The health care professional then told me that my Covid-19 test results will be sent to my doctor, and it will take anywhere from 24, to 48 hours to get my results. I got my test results in less than 24 hours after I had taken my Covid-19 test. Wanna know my results???? I tested out - "NEGATIVE"! Phew!!! What a relief!!! Unfortunately for me, although I've tested "negative", I still have to quarantine for 14 days due to CDC guidelines, just incase there are false positives, or false negatives. Aiyah! So now that I'm stuck at home........ on the bright side, I get to write this Yelp review, cuz I have all the time in the world now! Lol! Don't forget to WEAR YOUR MASK gang........I'M SERIOUS! This review is only for the Covid Testing service provided by Queens Kapahulu Urgent Care. Since I am having a medical procedure soon I was told I HAD to get a Covid test at Queens and could either go to Queens Hospital or here. I chose Kapahulu since the techs administer it from your car and you do not have to go into the clinic, Covid tests here are by appointment only. You are given a time and the scheduler gave me good directions which was to go to the "old Hee Hing Restaurant building" on Kapahulu and enter the parking garage that goes under the building. Driving down Kapahulu, I saw the building but scanned the sign on the building and did not see the sign for Queens Clinic (it might be there but there were other businesses listed.) When I entered the parking lot there were two attendants and I told them I was there for a Covid test and they directed me to circle around the parking lot and park by the stairs. The parking space is on the far side of the parking lot (the lot is small) and is in kind of a cubby hole almost like it was for old trash bins. There are concrete steps leading up to the upper level and 2 parking spaces but the spaces are so tight only one car will fit since the tech has to be able to stand outside your window. A sign tells you to call a number and I called. Since I was about 15 minutes early, I waited about 10 minutes for the tech. The test was quick and easy but there was a car behind me waiting to pull in when I pulled out. All in all, if you need a Covid test and are offered this location, take it! On April 3, 2024, I went in for bug bites that got infected. Dr. Pourarian did not even look at it. Spent not more than a minute total! Prescription was antibiotics. He prescribed 30grams of antibiotic ointment and the pharmacy only had 22 grams. Three days into treatment and I realized it was not enough. Called in for refill and was told it should be enough. Well it not. Still not cured. I was only asking for a refill due to the fact I was shorted out of my prescription by almost a third! How dare the doctor say it is enough when he didn't even look at my injuries! How can this doctor be like that? All I needed was to get the right amount of prescribed. In conclusion.. Doctor did not or could not cure bug bites Doctor did not even look at the injuries Doctor did not refill an antibiotic ointment dispite it was not enough to begin with. read more

I called all the urgent care centers in the area to find out if they accept my insurance and how long the wait was. QIUC was 60-90 minutes wait. I waited an hour before heading over and when I arrived, I was told about 45 minutes wait but I was in a patient exam room in 20 minutes.Both front desk personnel and medical assistant were efficient and welcoming. Overall was a very good experience with all the staff and Dr Black. I would recommend QIUC. They ran a urine test while I was there and my Rx was ready at Safeway within 30 minutes of leaving my appointment. read more

These people are criminals. They purport to give care but they will leave you with no reliable knowledge on how long you will be waiting to receive care. I initially waited 45 minutes, was let into a room where a woman took my blood pressure and told me "you have 3 people ahead of you" after I waited an hour- with nobody coming to check on me or give an update or even offer water- I went out of the room. The only people there were sitting behind the desk. I asked the lady "how much longer" and she just said "theres two people ahead of you" but again no offer of service or even an estimated timeline. Don't go to this place if u need to improve ur medical concern. Twice I had horrible experiences at this specific location where my medical urgencies actually got worse because of the "care" I received from here. I been to a few other urgent care locations, along with actuactual ers and this is THE ONLY one where my conditions actually got worse, exasterbated, and extra unnecessary elongated time frame of suffering. To be fair and honest, couple of the staff/nurses are pleasant. The rest are pretty rude, lack compassion, grouchy, and sloppy. The location is decent along with the hours which they do a good job in being anal probing nazis about waiting to the very dot of 8a to open the door despite the many patients outside. Now the grand finale of why this place is a death sentence: the "dr"....the 1st time I came he pretty much told me I had a sinus infection....thank u captain obvious, I coulda told u dat....o wait, I did. This "dr" has a bad sassy attitude along with questionable certification. Because the 2nd time I came, I was praying it wasn't him....to my disappointment he still hadn't get caught for his malpractice....anyways I went in because the symptoms I had made led me to suspect swimmer's ear(outer ear infection) along with possible sinus infection...I clearly dedescribwd in detail along with my own suggestion of diagnoses. Then the dr came in after reading the summary of wat I said, asked me what I wanted....what u think? I came here to get "urgent care". Then without even examining me just literally reiterated what I had told da nurse: swimmer's ear and sinus infection. ‍what is he, a parrot? She examined me, told me 1st of all I had a INNER ear infection wich was y the ear drops wouldn't have helped anyways. 2, there's a percentage of ppl hu get allergic reactions from those drops(wich I shudnt have had in da 1st place cuz of WRONG diagnosis) wich caused my UNBEARABLE itching AND spreading of eczema/hives all over my neck and ears. So basically because I didn't listen 2 my instincts and decided to give this "dr" another chance to redeem himself and follow his advice, I had 2 weeks of hell when it could've just bin 5 days max. And without any meds. Whoever is in charge or urgent care PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF PEOPLES LIVES/HEALTH/SAFETY fire this dr and prevent malpractice. He's a douchebag anyways and won't be missed. This urgent care is walk in only (I called ahead to see if I could make an appointment). I walked in a little before 10:00 a.m. on a Friday and had a phenomenal visit, truly blown away. The staff that greeted me upon entry was so sweet and caring, and there was virtually no paperwork to fill out, all I had to do was provide my ID, insurance card, verbally tell them what my issues were, and sign a consent for treatment. It couldn't be easier! Maybe I chose a good time of day, but I only waited about 10 minutes before being called back. The initial medical staff that took my vitals and talked to me was so incredibly friendly and sweet too! Shortly after, Dr Luk came in to the room and he was so pleasant and polite as well! I really feel as though he took the time to listen to me and try to understand my concerns and history in the process of sharing his medical opinion on what's going on and what we could do for treatments. I thought the doctor would spend 2 or 3 minutes with me and then run away, but he must have been with me for a solid 10 minutes and at no point was I feeling rushed or hurried. I was able to get a shot of toradol for my migraines, some prescriptions, lab orders, and a PCR test for safe measure. All in all it was such a wonderful experience from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out. I highly recommend this urgent care location and team based on my experience! The front/lobby waiting area was really modern and nice, too! Thank you everyone for your care and compassion. The most impolite person...he made me stand up twice to have me sign a paper that I already signed but he didn't tell me I needed to sign another part of the form. Then he asked for my insurance card again after I already gave it to him and sat down. Mind you I'm feeling really ill. The doctor on the other hand was super polite. Explained everything clearly and made sure I understood my options on treatment or probable cause of what might be going on with my health. After I was seen by the doctor I had to check out with the same guy. And he asks, "And what was your name again? Oh okay here's your discharge papers." There was never a thank you. When your dentist's office is located in a hospital. You gotta get a COVID test to get into the hospital for your appointment even if it's just for teeth cleaning or a check up. So I've been getting COVID tests every time I had an appointment for my dentist. It's located in the same building where Tamifuji, Orange Theory and other places are at on Kapahulu. The parking can be small and tight. Which was 3 to 5 days before the actual appointment. The Queen's Pre-Surgery Center would call me up before my appointment to set up my COVID-19 test. The first time it happened, it freaked me out because I was thinking I'm not scheduled to have any surgeries at Queen's. Then I called back and made sense that they would want their patients to be tested to protect themselves and staff from COVID and liabilities lawsuits. Even though I'm fully vaccinated from COVID, I still have to get tested for it because not enough of our population is vaccinated for herd immunity. So I might have to get covid tested for a little while longer. The process is easy especially if you've gotten a rapid flu and rapid strep swab tests done in the past. Both of which I've gotten before in the Emergency Deparment and PCP Doctor's office. Tell the parking attendant as you go in that you're there for COVID testing (so you don't have to pay the parking rates). Then just pull your car into the two designated stalls for the COVID tests located near the stairs in the sun. Call the number and extension provided until someone picks up the phone. Keep your mask on, show your ID and follow their instructions. Which is tilting your head back, breathing as they put it in and take it out. It was uncomfortable the first time, now it's nothing much at all especially if the person is gentle in putting the swab into your nose. Ironically, it always clears my sinuses from allergies after getting a covid test. I had to step out of the car once to get my COVID test done because it was raining outside, so we just did it in the parking structure near the car. They gave me a paper with my information on it and to isolate until my appointment. If you don't get a phone call you're negative; if you do get a call, then freak out. Health care facilities hardly call you back on your test results if they're good/normal; if it's not good news, you'll get a call right away. Thank you for the kind staff that has done my COVID testing. Thank you for always being kind. Thank you for making this process so easy and quick. You are all awesome! I appreciate all the hard work that you do for us. I'm thankful that I always wear my mask, wash my hands and social distance as much as possible. It's helps keep the results negative and I hope to keep it that way with the Delta and new variants coming out by wearing my mask everywhere even though I'm fully vaccinated against COVID-19. read more

Kapahulu clinic is having major problems managing there schedule, or for me this one time was a major problem. I was scheduled to get a COVID test at 9:50 AM today and told to call them from the parking area when I arrived. I called them at 0946 AM and gave her my name and was told ok I see you, someone will be right down. After waiting 15 minutes in the hot sun, I moved my car one space over and called them again to let them know. But, I got an answering machine and I left a message that I was still waiting and to call me back. After another five minutes, I called again and no answer. I called Liz at the Queens COVID hotline that had set the appointment time for me around 08:10 AM. Liz put me on hold and was able to reach the receptionist at Kapahulu and was told someone would be right down. Liz told me to wait and about 10 minutes later someone showed up. That person told me that Liz just put me on the schedule two minutes ago and they didn't know. So two major problems exist - -I told them I was downstairs at 0946 AM and they told me someone would be right down, but they forgot about me. -The second problem is nobody answers the phone when it is needed. I know that other clinics have a rotating stand in line system saying you are caller number 3 and someone will be with you in a minute. The bigger problem is flat out lying and not taking responsibly that they were too busy and forgot me. They then tried to blame it on Liz for not putting me on the schedule. Even if that is true, I should not have been told at 0946 AM that they have my name and on the way down. This is the most messed up thing I have ever seen at Queens. The attached shows I was on the phone at 9:45 AM for two minutes while the receptionist at Kapahulu told me where to park and checked my name to confirm the appointment and then said someone will be right down. Queen's Island Urgent Care helped me immensely during a recent trip to Honolulu. I went surfing and had some major pressure in my ears afterwards due to using some waterproof ear plugs which imbedded some wax deep into my ear canal. Dr. Luk examined my ears and JenLee did an excellent job clearing out the wax through irrigation. I'm truly grateful to both of them. I was able to extend my trip and surf again while I was there which was great! My hearing is thankfully all back to normal with no pressure. I highly recommend the excellent care from Queen's Island Urgent Care. They were fast and good. they changed their ownership so I had to run home and get more ID. After that it went very fast and smooth.

I went to Queen's Island Urgent Care because I needed a Covid testing. My brother who lives with me tested positive and I'd been feeling pretty lousy for the past couple of weeks. To the point, where you have no energy, coughing, shortness of breath, off and on fevers that I couldn't leave my house. My daughter pushed me to go get checked out even though I'm feeling way better than I did a few days ago. Not sure what to expect, I was ready for anything. Check in was fast, efficient, friendly, just having to fill out paperwork. I didn't wait too long. There were a few people ahead of me. A super friendly nurse took me in to take my vitals and ask Covid questions and ask me to fill out a symptoms form. She swabbed me for the flu and that really sucked. She told me the Covid test was worse. She said Josh would be in to do the Covid test. In bounces Josh! Josh had to re-swab me for the flu, nowhere near the intensity as the first swab. Josh has this super upbeat personality BUT he's a miracle swabber for covid! It was a ping of discomfort, less than the first flu swab. He's that good! Dr. Aaron Kauhane came to examine me. He was friendly and thorough. Went over the treatment he was prescribing for me. Spent a few minutes talking about Covid and how it's so easily spread and found out we have a mutual friend. I had a great experience at Queen's Island Urgent Care. I'd come back here if my PCP couldn't see me. And yes Josh, you are the best! Thanks everyone for taking care of me today! read more

I've been here a couple times First was chronic cough this January and second was some gastrointestinal stuff. First doctor was super helpful with my chronic cough. He gave me effective medicine that actually helped me. Second doctor was good, but he didn't seem to know what was wrong with my stomach and ran some tests on me and I was clear. They said they would refer me to a gi specialist, but they didn't give a specific name they just listed a couple hospitals and I found on my own after saying they "referred" me and they put me with a nurse practitioner. But anyway, would recommend if you have something else besides gi issues. read more

I went there Monday for blood ib my left ear. I only had to wait 45" and received great service. I got a prescription for antibiotic eardrops. On Wednesday I got a follow- up call to see how I was doing. I was impressed, I never got a follow-up check-up call from a health provider before. read more
