Proof of visit and recommendations, dog bite and flu!
    Rickey C.

Crazy place... I went because I had the flu, and an infection from a dog bite... Sick as a dog, 1st very annoying thing, was the security guard... Watching TV in the waiting room without headphones or an ear bud! Very annoying if your bones are aching and have the flu! He's sitting on a couch, right next to an exit door, where patients exit after leaving the Dr area. This poor girl was on crutches and struggling trying to get out of the door. He was so into his movie he didn't even offer to help! I got up and held the door for her. He didn't even look up! Now I finally got to see a Dr. Told him I had the flu, showed him my dog bite, he suggested a covid test, which I would get the results in 15 min. And left. The nurse came in, gave me instructions and a script for the dog bite, I asked about the test, she had no idea what I was talking about. Said she would check. Came back saying they would call with the results. No meds for the flu, no mention of it. I was so disappointed. The whole thing was insane! Needless to say I'll NEVER go back to that circus! I definitely deserve an apology, at the least! Thanks for your time!

After I took my Covid-19 test, the folks from Queen's Island Urgent Care gave me these instructions.

Mutha!!! So how did I end up here??? Oh yeah...........I basically had to come here because there was a possibility that I could have been exposed to Covid-19!!! YIKES!!!!! Lucky for me I have an AWESOME primary care doctor, and after I had texted her about me working at this financial institution in Kaimuki, and the incident I saw on social media/news over the weekend, I basically asked her - "what should I do?" A few things that my doctor had asked me? 1. Was I working within 6 feet of the person that had Covid-19? 2. Was I around that person (who had Covid-19) longer than 15 minutes? Of course I didn't know the answers to any of these questions, because when I was working there (last week Tuesday), I was unaware of any Covid-19 incident, until I saw the post on social media/news five days later (Sunday). After heading back to the financial institution on Monday to talk to the branch manager, and to find out which employee came down with Covid-19.............all my questions were answered. Wanna know the answers to the (2) questions listed above??? It was - 1. YES - I was working working on a machine, and standing right next to the person who had Covid-19. 2. YES - I was working in the financial institution for 5.5 to 6 hours that day. Aiyah!!! So after getting the information to my doctor, the next thing ya know, my awesome primary care doctor puts in an order for a Covid-19 test, and that's how I ended up at the Queen's Island Urgent Care (Kapahulu Location). Let me give you da dirt on how this works when you gotta take a Covid-19 test........... 1. You cannot just get a Covid-19 test, because you want one. Of course, there was an exception on Oahu (when we had our 2nd shut down of the state) the Hawaii Govt. was giving out the Covid-19 test, because the Covid-19 infections were out of control in da 808, and they had to do mass testing to get everything back in order again. 2. If you meet all the contact tracing parameters, then you need to be tested! My awesome pimary care doctor basically puts in an order for me, so that I could get a Covid-19 test. 3. After Queen's Island Urgent Care got the test request order from my doctor, Queen's Island Urgent Care called me up to set up an appointment for me to take my Covid-19 test. In my case, I was able to get my Covid-19 test the same day that it was requested by my doctor. 4. When you show up to the Queen's Island Urgent Care location, drive your car into the parking structure, but DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR!!! 5. Look for the (2) parking stalls that are marked for Covid-19 testing, and park your car in one of the (2) parking stalls. From there, you call the phone number - (808) 735-0007 to let someone from Queen's Island Urgent Care know that you are waiting in the parking lot, and someone from the Urgent Care center will come downstairs to the parking lot to administer the Covid-19 test to you, while you're sitting in your car. 6. As you are sitting in your car, roll down your window (but DO NOT TAKE OFF YOUR MASK)!!! AGAIN, DO NOT TAKE OFF YOUR MASK!!! The health care professional is all geared up with their hazmat suit, and they will instruct you to show them your ID (to verify that your are the right person), then they will instruct you to cough into your mask, then pull down your mask just past your nostril (keep your mouth covered by your mask). 7. The health care professional will then shove a super long swab up your nose for like an eternity (more like 10 seconds or so). I told Bruddah Man - 'Eh, no poke my brain! Okay??? 8. And that's it! Easy peasy!!! The health care professional then told me that my Covid-19 test results will be sent to my doctor, and it will take anywhere from 24, to 48 hours to get my results. I got my test results in less than 24 hours after I had taken my Covid-19 test. Wanna know my results???? I tested out - "NEGATIVE"! Phew!!! What a relief!!! Unfortunately for me, although I've tested "negative", I still have to quarantine for 14 days due to CDC guidelines, just incase there are false positives, or false negatives. Aiyah! So now that I'm stuck at home........ on the bright side, I get to write this Yelp review, cuz I have all the time in the world now! Lol! Don't forget to WEAR YOUR MASK gang........I'M SERIOUS! That's what probably protected me from catching the Covid-19 virus.......

On April 3, 2024, I went in for bug bites that got infected. Dr. Pourarian did not even look at it. Spent not more than a minute total! Prescription was antibiotics. He prescribed 30grams of antibiotic ointment and the pharmacy only had 22 grams. Three days into treatment and I realized it was not enough. Called in for refill and was told it should be enough. Well it not. Still not cured. I was only asking for a refill due to the fact I was shorted out of my prescription by almost a third! How dare the doctor say it is enough when he didn't even look at my injuries! How can this doctor be like that? All I needed was to get the right amount of prescribed. In conclusion.. Doctor did not or could not cure bug bites Doctor did not even look at the injuries Doctor did not refill an antibiotic ointment dispite it was not enough to begin with.

It was a nasty cut and the whole situation was honestly terrifying at the time. I'm a little late writing this review (it's now February), but I'm finally fully healed and I've been thinking about how grateful I am for the team at Doctors of Waikīkī. Dustin did incredible work on my stitches. The injury was pretty bad, but he handled everything with so much care and precision. You can tell he really knows what he's doing, and I felt like I was in good hands the whole time. And Tabitha truly made the experience so much better than it could have been. She brought such positive energy into a really scary moment. She kept me calm, made me laugh, and helped take my mind off how painful and overwhelming everything felt. That kind of kindness really sticks with you. The whole office had great energy and a genuinely caring team. Even though the injury itself was awful, they made the experience as good as it possibly could have been. Funny enough, if they heard what happened after I got back to Sacramento they'd probably be surprised -- and maybe a little pissed -- because a doctor here took my stitches out too early and I ended up having to let it heal as an open wound. But through it all, I'm finally fully healed now, and I'm really thankful for Dustin, Tabitha, and the whole team for helping me through the start of that journey. They turned a really scary moment into something I can actually look back on with gratitude.

Mutha! I'm sick!!!…read more I rarely get sick, so whenever I do get sick, I'm totally shocked and I really don't know what to do! Lol! I recently changed doctors because my primary care doctor that I've been seeing for the last 10 years joined that MDVIP thingy. The MDVIP thing is pretty costly as I had to pay $3450 for a one year membership just so I could see my primary care doctor. Although she was worth every penny I paid just to see her, if I had money pouring out of my butt I would have stayed with her, but I am only a few years away from retirement, so I am thinking ahead to save me a few smackaz. Earlier this year (April), I switched to a new doctor at Queen's Hospital that way I could avoid having to pay the $3450 just to see a doctor and that doesn't even include the normal co-pay fees that we pay after we see our doctor. You add in the cost for meds, and you're looking at a pretty sum of money. One things for sure, I can clearly see a big difference in the level of service I get from the MDVIP doc, vs. the regular doc at Queen's, but that's life. You get what you pay for! I wasn't able to get an appointment with my new primary care doctor at Queen's on the day I called in, so I decided to head on down to the Queen's Island Urgent Care in Kahala. The nice thing about this place was when I called in, someone actually picked up the phone. The gentleman who picked up the phone was very cordial and honest. I asked the gentleman if they took appointments, he said no. It was basically a "1st come, 1st serve basis" and he was honest with me telling me that they were busy that day with about 11 to 12 folks waiting in the lobby. I was thinking 11 to 12 folks? That's nothing & I shoud be able to see someone within 1 to 2 hours? Boy, was I totally WRONG! So I checked in at the Kahala clinic at 11:30 am and by the time I actually got into a room to see a doctor, it was 3:30 pm. Do da math folks! YIKES!!! They swabbed my noise for Covid-19 & Flu, I ended up getting the flu which I haven't had in a long time. I was walking around with a low grade fever & didn't even know it. On the bright side, the doctor who saw & helped me - Dr Ayesha P. Wilbourn was wonderful! Great service, listen to what I had to say, then ordered up some meds for me to be picked up at Longs Drugs. If it wasn't for the super long wait time, this clinic would have graded out much better, but I guess maybe they were short staffed that day?

I went in at 10:45 am and was quoted a 2 hour wait. I decided to wait in the clinic. Since the clinic is on a walk-in basis, you must be present when your name is called. The waiting room is comfortable. There's seats and a clean restroom to use. I should have went to the mall to grab something to eat during that 2 hour estimate. The 2 hour wait time was accurate. I got called around 12:45 pm. A specialist checked me in first, taking my vitals. After a 15 minute wait, Dr. Kauhane came for the check up. He was attentive, empathetic, and listened to my concerns. He gave advice on how to handle my ailment, and set up my prescription. The process was easy and simple. After that, another specialist came by to do this discharge. I am thankful for Dr. Kauhane and the clinic staff. Everyone was so friendly and helped me feel relaxed even with my ailment. Wish the wait times were shorter, but the doctor shortage is a statewide issue.

I had sutures (both externally and internally) removed by my PCP from my right upper lip at the same time, exactly one week after they were sewn by the attending physician at the ER of the Japanese hospital. I initially sent a message to my PCP via MyChart where the attending nurse practitioner advised my PCP recommended me to go to Queen's Island Urgent Care (QIUC). I was resting at home recovering from a sprained ankle and was advised the nearest location is in Kaka'ako. Located on the corner of Keawe and Auahi, this is one of five locations of QIUC on Oahu. This location opened in January 2020 as it took over the space previously occupied by Island Urgent Care. I drove here and found street parking a block away on a wet Friday afternoon. I already had a bum left ankle and was extra careful on not getting further injured. As I walked in, there was a young couple who already checked in and was waiting to be seen. After submitting my drivers license to the staff, I filled out a 2-page questionnaire that was highlighted in yellow for areas to be completed. The staff also asked some questions that were similar to what was on the questionnaire. I cringed to those questions as it brought back flashbacks of the traumatic fall I had. In less than 5 minutes, my name was called and was escorted to the examination room where a staff asked me 2x of my date of birth. Was a little bothered being asked the same question 2x only to reply the same answer 2x as I replied slowly both times. There also seemed to be a disconnect as I had to clearly explain this same staff the sutures were done overseas and my trip was cut short to seek much needed medical attention so the sutures were removed by my PCP. I did my best by keeping calm and not exert negative energy. My attending physician was Dr. Nguyen who also questioned my injury and visit. I was relieved the hardened area of my upper lip area wasn't infected and was advised most likely due to keloid (irregular fibrous tissue that developed of the scar area). Was advised to massage it regularly. I also messaged my PCP to see what his thoughts are. Overall, a somewhat pleasant experience at this QIUC where I was able to have my concerns addressed and answered. There were a few things that bothered me on my visit which ended up bumping my rating down to 4-stars.
