I know trying to get a doctor's appointment can take days, weeks, and sometimes even months, and by that time, it's useless to even go. Making an appointment is very easy. You can do it on the CVS app or the website. Times are usually available, and walk-ins are accepted as well. I managed to make an appointment on the same day. You check in at the kiosk, and just wait your turn. Valenso was the nurse practitioner who was there today. He was very friendly, personable, courteous, and professional. He makes you feel comfortable and at ease. You can come here for almost anything from minor injuries and illnesses to vaccines and injections to skin issues to earwax removal and then some. Overall, MinuteClinic is definitely useful. Super friendly staff. Clean and bright room. Very easy to make appointments for the same and next day. read more

I'm NOT a hypochondriac but I consider myself proactive about taking care of my health and well-being. That being said, I don't usually see my PCP unless I'm feeling like "Death is knocking on my door" and I always go in for an annual physical. This past weekend, we were experiencing a lot of rain and humidity which in Hawai'i, often comes with VOG, when the storm system comes from out South. So, when I woke this morning with some allergy symptoms, I decided to contact the CVS Minute Clinic instead of calling my PCP. The online process of contacting a CVS Minute Clinic was quick and easy. -Go to http://www.cvs.com. Select Minute Clinic. -You can look for the nearest site of Minute Clinic that is located in a CVS Pharmacy plus see what the waiting time is. -Make your selection and you will be assigned an appointment and a confirmation code. Your appointment time and code will be sent to your e-mail and phone (text). -Show up at least 5 minutes prior to your appointment to check-in at their dedicated kiosk. Of course, rather than scheduling an appointment, you can walk-in and they'll see you. However, just know that if you walk-in, those who have appointments will be seen before you. Today, I saw Reynard Nievera, ARNP, who was congenial and professional. He was thorough with his line of questioning as I described my symptoms. After taking my vitals, I told him that I was concerned that my symptoms were just due allergy to the VOG or possibly the onset of flu. Reynard took a couple of test samples and luckily it turned out that i was having allergies. He prescribed several medications which I was able to pick up from the CVS Pharmacy around the corner from this office. Also, I agreed to have follow-up calls to make sure the medications are helping to address and relieve my allergies. The Minute Clinic offers several programs that would augment those that your PCP would prescribe. Their business hours and locations are convenient (usually located inside a CVS store), especially if you're unable to get to your PCP on the same day. They even accept many health insurances. This place is pretty convenient as it is located inside Longs Drugs Kahala Mall. You can either do a walk in or schedule an appointment online at minuteclinic.com or with the CVS app. I would recommend coming about 10 - 15 minutes before your appointment as you have to sign in electronically and answer some questions. Hmmmm.... What happened to seeing a receptionist and being able to speak to someone face to face. I guess pretty soon there will be no need for doctors as it will be robots taking all of our vitals and poking us with needles and stuff. Yes I like the human interaction and I didn't have all the answers to the questions so i was a little frustrated. Once I got through the questions and signed in it was a short wait to actually see someone. I literally cannot say enough good things about this place. I have been very fortunate recently and not been sick AT ALL. Not a sniffle. Not a cold. Since apparently my body felt I was enjoying my good health too much, five days ago I got hit by what felt like a truck. Being an asthmatic when I get sick, I don't get the sniffles, I get the full on plague so on Friday I stopped by here with what felt like a sinus infection. The practitioner took the time to get know my medical history, and made sure I left there with a good understanding of what to do if I wasn't feeling better, etc. Best of all, she didn't over prescribe things and made sure nothing she gave me interacted with anything I already took or have previously taken. Fast forward to Sunday and I feel like death. Back in my car I go and there's a new provider there. Thankfully she left good notes and even better, the provider there was honest enough to say that my symptoms were beyond their scope of care and she sent me to Kunia Urgent Care to ensure that I got the best possible medical care possible. You may be reading this and wondering why would I be giving five stars if I had to go back and then go elsewhere, and I'll explain. These practitioners truly care about their patients which is why when on Friday when I wasn't presenting with the symptoms I had today I wasn't over prescribed medication (something that oftentimes happens being an asthmatic). Both providers took the time to listen to my symptoms and did a thorough exam prior to making a diagnosis. These practicioners showed care and compassion far beyond the scope of what I expect at walk in clinic. Once you sign in at the kiosk, you can also have a text sent to your phone when you're next if there's a long wait which is a nice feature. Went online to the minute clinic and said I wanted to walk-in that day for my flu shot. I called about 1:45 and it said it would save me a slot in 15 mins so it'd be at 2:00pm (when the clinic reopens)A code was sent to my email address and when I got there I just went to the kiosk to check in with it. Older people not tech savvy may be intimidated by doing this online but it was pretty easy. I was called in immediately and the nurse was awesome. She asked for my ID and health insurance. Got that all settled then got my flu shot. Yay...easy peasy. I was telling her how walgreens was out of stock and she wasn't surprised. She also said that Longs is usually stocked very well for these kinds of vaccinations which is good to know and that my insurance should fully cover it. Hope she's right! read more

Horrible system. You put in and then there's a waiting list. It accepts walk-in and online. This is not a good process. When we came the wait was 127 minutes, 4 people on the wait list serving one, so we were # 5 with 119 min wait, which is crazy too. Then we wait and wait. 20 min later someone online applies and jumps in ahead of us. Now the wait is 117 again. They serve someone else and goes to 97 min. They help another person and two more come in. Now our wait is 112 min. This is bs. We left. The wait list sucks here read more

I went here for a "mandatory doctors note" for work. I went twice, once on a Friday morning and once on a Sunday morning.. Both around 10am, both took almost 2 hours to be seen. It's done by first come first served, not by who is sickest, if you're really sick go to the ER! I was feeling awful with the flu, didn't want to wait in an ER or drive far to see my primary doctor so I just went here. Yes I had to wait, but that's it. Once I got in, she did a full history and even tested me to see if I had the flu- which I tested positive. She was able to write my prescription for tamiflu and cough syrup and I just walked 15 feet in the store to fill out my prescription! I'm in ER Nurse by profession, and I understand the wait. The only thing I would suggest is a way maybe to sign up online at home, or just be able to check the wait at home. I was getting a little irritated with people not staying in the waiting room, there was 3 people ahead of me at one point but no one was there, then right when I was supposed to be next they all started coming back! Stay in the damn waiting area! Also, don't get upset bc you have to wait long for a "physical" for your kids sport and you need it by Monday and it's a Sunday morning! Next time Make an appointment with your kids' pediatrician for something stupid like that....I wanted to add that there is only one nurse practitioner working, and she is the registration, medical assistant, nurse and doctor all rolled into one- don't let the second door fool you, she's all by herself! This convenient medical clinic is amazing. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. The Nurse Practitioner is able to assess, diagnose and treat your symptoms at this clinic. They are able to prescribe medication if needed but best of all they provide great education about your diagnosis. If you need to be seen today you can walk in. On a recent visit to Honolulu I got ill. A friend of mine took me to the nearest medical clinic and I must say I'm glad she did. Christina Wong, nurse practitioner assisted me. I also should add that I was very apprehensive about the level of medical attention and knowledge I would be getting from this "minute clinic" as we don't have such a clinic on the neighbor island I am from. However, from the start, I was greeted very warmly and felt at ease that I would be getting the proper care by Christina Wong. She knew right away how to treat me as I gave her my symptoms, and even better, she suggested some natural remedies too. I am visiting friends in Ko'olina from the mainland and came down with a sinus infection. My friend is a day away from knee replacement surgery and I didn't want to be sick when caring for her. I visited Minute Clinic and saw Kathryn Nekoba-Lev NP. It didn't require a long waiy to be seen at 10:30 am. She was very thorough and just happened to diagnose sore in my ear as well that is eczema. The wait was reasonable considering that the clinic is a walk in clinic. I didn't expect the service I recieved. I been to a few different clinics but I have to say the Kahala Clinic has suprised me. The staff are great especially the nurse practitioner Christina Wong, she is very professional. I was suprised to see someone of her talent in the clinic, it was like seeing a specialist. Christina Wong really made it feel like a one stop shop. She was able to diagnose as well as prescribed my medication in one place. My minor child needed a TB test for his first job. He was administered a $35 skin test, and told 3 days later when we returned to get the NP to evaluate the test, she told us that he was positive for TB. We were also told that he needed to get a chest x-ray to confirm if the TB was active or dormant. We were given a list of clinics to take him to to have this done as soon as possible. TB is no joke. So, we took him straight to his pediatrician who took a look at his skin and said that it was a negative result in his opinion. He also administered a new TB skin test on his other arm. Two days later, the doctor declared a negative finding for TB. There was a very obvious difference between the two skin tests, in that the first one, done a Minute Clinic, looked very red and irritated, while the second was slightly pink. Because of this experience, I am under the impression that there was a problem with the administering of the test and the reading of the test through this clinic. It was a VERY upsetting situation for my son, and we would hate for anyone else to go through anything like this. We attempted to "review" the experience via the link provided by Minute Clinic, and it simply asks, rating a scale of 1 -10, were you satisfied with you experience at MC? No place to offer an explanation or list concerns. So, we are putting them here, to warn others considering using this service for TB test, or other. I am not sure if further training is necessary, or if this incident was just a fluke, but the fact that MC doesn't even want to hear a customers explanation for a bad review, leads me to think people should not be using their services if there is another safer option out their. read more

While needing medical attention on vacation is never a good thing, I had a pleasant experience with Minute Clinic nurses Julie and Beth. They had a warm bedside manner while being efficient. After the quick check-in process at the computer in the waiting area, I was the first patient on a weekday morning and was seen right away. I was in and out (with prescription in hand) in about an hour. They sent the information to my primary doctor and also offered to follow up with me via phone. This location opens at 8:30, and the sign in computer does not activate until then so if you come in early you still have to wait to sign in! Dr. Katt was very punctual and opened her door right on time. She was very knowledgable and helpful. The clinic encourages you to wear a mask if you are coughing to avoid spreading germs to other patients. The kiosk provides patients with hand sanitizer, masks, and tissues, and it felt very clean. Nice to come in for acute problems such as colds. I was the first patient in at 8:30 and my appt was about 20 minutes. The office was full when I left at about 9 on a weekday morning. Really great, honestly probably better than the doctors i've had. The wait wasn't very long about 15 minutes, so I ended up shopping in the mean time. I too was seen by Jacqueline Chacon, she was probably more thorough than any person in the medical field I've seen thus far. She took the time to explain every detail of what she was doing and why. When it came time for my exam it was quick, but didn't feel like I was being rushed what so ever. I was then diagnosed with sinusitis, and was given the appropriate medications. Much better than waiting around at a doctors office for hours on end. She made the experience feel very personal which definitely made me feel better, as normally I hate going to the doctors. I took my daughter here to confirm and treat an ear infection while we were on vacation (Swimmer's Ear). Although the wait time was a bit longer than I hoped, about 1 hour, I was prepared for that since you never know what you will get at a walk in clinic. Once our turn came, I was very pleasantly surprised by the NP, Julie's, professionalism, kindness and care. I also understood why the wait was a bit longer - she actually takes her time with you to understand, evaluate and treat without rushing you in and out. I appreciated that greatly and it made my daughter feel much more comfortable. I did read the one negative review (out of so many other positive ones) and can't imagine how that experience went so awry... But let's not forget that it takes two to Tango so I'm guessing that patient wasn't the most pleasant either. read more

Great service. They open at 0830. We were 4th in line (signup via standalone computer). We were done by 1000. Given a prescription and was able to get in filled next door (sent electronically by Nurse) at the Longs pharmacy. Clinic is located in Longs in the back left. Was seen by Nurse Practioner Jacqueline Chacon, very good professional caring. Asked us about allergies to any medication. Minute Clinic accepted our Blue Cross Blue Shield FEP insurance. I believe it's about $89 flat rate for any service if not covered by insurance. read more

Went here for the first time since my PCP couldn't see me. My throat had been on fire since yesterday along with body aches and nausea. It felt as if I was swallowing glass. Went to Urgent Care in Kunia but people were pouring out of the doors. So my husband suggested minute clinic in Kapolei. I signed in at the kiosk and in less than 10 minutes I was called in. I tried to have my 1 year old daughter seen and the kiosk keeps saying she can't be seen so I'm guessing it's because she's under 18 years old so I put in my info while holding a fussy baby. I proceed to wait only to be told by the unapologetic pa that they don't see babies under 18 months old. Fuming!!! Shouldn't a clinic like this make that explicitly clear! Best place to go when the pediatrician's office is closed. They do a very thorough head to toe assessment and the pharmacy is right next door. Too bad they don't have a direct connection to the pharmacy so that after you leave the minute clinic, your prescriptions are ready. If CVS really want to promote the Minute Clinic they should expedite the prescription filling process for the Minute Clinic patients. That would really bring in the patients. read more

So pleasant! I live in Mililani and drove over after a long over night shift at work. Just as I was walking in, the APRN Kathryn, was getting ready to take a break. She offered to wait and took me in immediately. I had some difficulties with my insurance, so I came back an hour or so later. She had called me to let me know she was back and that she had signed me in already. She was very friendly, super helpful and perfessional. My prescription was filled in about 15 minutes as well. They could not look up my HMSA PPO number online and so they could not see me without me paying out of pocket. It was after hours so I could not call HMSA to get the numbers. Pharmacies, specialists, and who ever else seems to be able to pull up the info online quite easily so that was a disappointment. Tried to call them to resolve a billing error they had made. Guess what? They have (or so the pharmacist tells me) NO phone. They are in the CVS/Longs building but have their own billing system. You can call a number in Rhode Island which closes today at 11:30 AM Hawaii time. If you like being put on hold for 12 minutes and talking to tree stump, call them in RI. The wait time for next walk in was at 48 minutes, but stayed that time for the next 20 minutes of waiting. As I had signed up to receive the text message I figured it would be alright to go check out at the cashier for some medicine. After I did so I received the text. Would give 0 stars if I could. I Did not get the nurse Jackie that everyone raved about in the yelp reviews. I got nurse Julie, the biggest minute clinic bitch Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Ive been to minute clinics in NY tons and she saw my history of upper respiratory infections and verbally made note of it. First off, we were there before she came back from lunch. The first name she called wasn't there so she took the next person- i was 3rd according to computer. Then after 45 full minutes, she finally comes out and the guy that was supposed to be first is now there, so she takes him instead of me! Another 35 minutes goes by. A customer in the waiting room made mention of how long it was taking and I said, "I know it's been 35 minutes" Nurse Julie rudely opens the door and snipply says, "ill be with you soon!" Another 20 minutes goes by. Finally, I go in. I, myself am a doctor of physical therapy. I know my medical history and shared that with nurse Julie that I am prone to bacterial infections and especially sinus and bronchitis and Ive had chronic bronchitis when i was younger and when left untreated, it goes straight to pneumonia. I also have a history of ear, throat and sinus infections. It starts with my allergies and then turns into a bacterial infection. I know antibiotics can be over prescribed and you don't get them if you have the flu or a stomach virus, however, any time I wasn't given antibiotics for these recurrent Bacterial infections in which Ive never transmitted to another person (that should tell you it's bacterial) it spreads to my throat, lungs, sinuses and ears until Im crawling back in there or I go to another doctor a week or two later dying. She even said to me, "you've only been sick 3 days, Im not arguing with you!" Ive even had to go to the hospital when I was refused antibiotics for these re-current infections and it's been a year since I've been on antibiotics and she had the history of all my sinus infections in front of her. I told her I was coughing up huge green chunks and was pretty sure I had bronchitis. She did look in my ears and my throat and listened to my lungs and did diagnose me with bronchitis and said there was fluid in my ears and my throat was quite red. However, she refused to give me an antibiotic for it and said I needed to go to my primary doctor, (wish i hadn't waited 3 hours for her to tell me that at what's supposed to be a real clinic) and all she offered was codeine cough syrup. I went to minute clinic because its only 5 mins away from where I live and my PCP is down town. Now I have an appointment with my PCP who is an actual real doctor with real empathy and compassion for her patients. Before we finished, I told her if she wasn't going to just give me antibiotics, could she please at least do a strep test because I'm prone to strep and I had told her my throat was really sore and she saw it was red and and you could see white polyps in it. She said Id have to get in the back of the line and wait again for a strep test, if I wanted one because she had "cashed me out"!! I was still in the room with her! After I left annoyed, I left my sweater in there and my husband went running back for it and she looked him straight in the eyes and literally slammed the door directly in his face and refused to open the door as he knocked and said, "please, I just want you to hand me her sweater!" A person in the waiting room called his wife who was inside the room with her and the wife agreed she was going to bring my sweater out, but nurse (c u next tuesday)wouldn't allow the lady to leave the room and wanted to make us wait another 35-45 minutes just for my sweater just to prove she was in charge and was resentful of me. Again, I am a health care professional and I work 1-1 with patients every day. I know my long medical history and that Im prone to bacterial infections which she did call it a bacterial infection, but then when I wanted antibiotics, she changed it to a, "virus" and told me she wasn't going to argue with me and she was not going to give me antibiotics. She had the worst bedside manner I've ever experienced! She wasn't empathetic or compassionate. She was extremely unprofessional. She was also not practicing good sanitization as she only washed/rinsed her hands for barely 10 seconds before touching me and she did not clean the pulse oximeter in-between patients with alcohol, which means that she is spreading diseases between patients as each person puts their finger in the pulse ox, they are being exposed to what the sick person before them had! I will never, ever go back to this Kapolei minute clinic and I've already shared this experience with 7 people what happened to me there and I'll be sure to tell ALL MY PATIENTS not to go there! read more
