Rating: 1 Star Subject: EXTREMELY unprofessional care and concerning behavior I'd like to preface what I'm about to say by mentioning that I have fatal and severe allergies and have been through this many times before. I carry an epi-pen and I'm quite knowledgeable about the protocols and treatment of an allergic reaction. I am writing this review to warn others about my experience at Queens Island Urgent Care Kaka'ako Clinic today. If you are in need of genuine medical attention, I STRONGLY suggest bypassing this facility and heading straight to Longs or the ER instead. My experience with the staff here was overwhelmingly negative, with one notable exception: the male nurse on duty, who was the only person to show any level of professionalism and empathy. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. S. Nguyen was abysmal at best. From the long wait when I was the ONLY patient in there to the moment she entered the room, her demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional; she even rolled her eyes at me. Rather than focusing on my active allergic reaction or assessing the risks of anaphylactic shock, she seemed more interested in my skin color. Furthermore, she made disparaging insinuations regarding substance abuse. I am proud to say I have been clean and sober for YEARS, and I found her behavior accusatory and completely irrelevant to the medical care I was seeking. Beyond the lack of empathy, the clinical care fell well short of standard expectations. Dr. Nguyen failed to ask the necessary diagnostic questions I am typically asked when dealing with an allergic reaction, and she provided inadequate treatment, prescribing only two prednisone pills to address the swelling. It is disheartening to see how many healthcare workers have seemingly lost their desire to care for patients. While I understand that administrative burdens and insurance companies place significant pressure on medical staff, that is never an excuse to take those frustrations out on patients. The level of apathy and total disregard for patient well-being I witnessed today is not just unacceptable but unwarranted! I left this clinic feeling unheard and unsafe. It's been several weeks since returning back from my trip to seek medical attention and I was concerned as my upper lip area is still swollen and firm. I had sutures (both externally and internally) removed by my PCP from my right upper lip at the same time, exactly one week after they were sewn by the attending physician at the ER of the Japanese hospital. I initially sent a message to my PCP via MyChart where the attending nurse practitioner advised my PCP recommended me to go to Queen's Island Urgent Care (QIUC). I was resting at home recovering from a sprained ankle and was advised the nearest location is in Kaka'ako. Located on the corner of Keawe and Auahi, this is one of five locations of QIUC on Oahu. This location opened in January 2020 as it took over the space previously occupied by Island Urgent Care. I drove here and found street parking a block away on a wet Friday afternoon. I already had a bum left ankle and was extra careful on not getting further injured. As I walked in, there was a young couple who already checked in and was waiting to be seen. After submitting my drivers license to the staff, I filled out a 2-page questionnaire that was highlighted in yellow for areas to be completed. The staff also asked some questions that were similar to what was on the questionnaire. I cringed to those questions as it brought back flashbacks of the traumatic fall I had. In less than 5 minutes, my name was called and was escorted to the examination room where a staff asked me 2x of my date of birth. Was a little bothered being asked the same question 2x only to reply the same answer 2x as I replied slowly both times. There also seemed to be a disconnect as I had to clearly explain this same staff the sutures were done overseas and my trip was cut short to seek much needed medical attention so the sutures were removed by my PCP. I did my best by keeping calm and not exert negative energy. My attending physician was Dr. Nguyen who also questioned my injury and visit. I was relieved the hardened area of my upper lip area wasn't infected and was advised most likely due to keloid (irregular fibrous tissue that developed of the scar area). Was advised to massage it regularly. I also messaged my PCP to see what his thoughts are. Overall, a somewhat pleasant experience at this QIUC where I was able to have my concerns addressed and answered. I'm sharing this review because I want other patients to be aware of our experience at Queen's Island Urgent Care in Kakaʻako. My husband went in for significant shoulder pain following a concussion, as well as a deep cut on his finger from cooking. He had previously been treated at Straub for the finger, but the stitches had come out, so we chose this location because it was much closer to us. During the visit, Dr. Sarah Nguyen offered OxyContin and Vicodin before, in our experience, adequately reviewing his previous medications or discussing other treatment options. My husband declined the narcotics, after which he was essentially told to take ibuprofen for his shoulder pain. She also did not want to restitch his finger and instead prescribed mupirocin. Our PCP later told us that this was not the appropriate antibiotic for the infection. Unfortunately, this was not our first frustrating experience with this location. We previously brought our 9-month-old son here and were told that the Kakaʻako location did not accept our insurance--even though we had already confirmed with our insurance company that it did. Based on our experiences, I would strongly encourage patients to verify their insurance coverage directly, ask questions about medications and treatment options, and consider getting a second opinion if something doesn't seem right. read more

A family member visited this urgent care clinic recently and we will never return. The experience was horrible. Everyone from the front desk to the doctor was rude, impolite, impatient, condescending, and incompetent. Their behavior is inexcusable and extremely unprofessional. I had believed that Queen's Health Systems upheld high standards for service excellence in improving the health of all the people of Hawaii. I am disappointed and shocked with how this facility conducts itself, treating people with an utter lack of dignity or respect. If I could give negative stars, I wouldn't hesitate. read more

But my partner came in feeling like he was dying and they only spent 10 minutes with him (enough for me to finish my sudoku game), didn't adequately listen to his lungs with the stethoscope, and then prescribed him ALL over the counter meds. I came in due to severe dizziness and noticed earaches for about 5 days before going to this urgent care. The nurse was kind but the same can't be said for Dr. Nguyen. I had signs of an ear infection but Dr Nguyen said I didn't have one and didn't give me any advice or medications for my dizziness and told me to just get over the counter medication. My symptoms got worse and had the worst earaches/headaches for the past week and decided to get a second opinion. Turns out, I did have an ear infection! Glad I didn't see all the negative reviews or I might not have come. I usually go to Straub Urgent Care centers, but this was closest to my office. It opens earlier than Straub centers, at 8 am, which is much more convenient. I walked in about 9 am on a Wednesday to an empty waiting room, to my surprise. The receptionist said I was lucky, the day before they were crowded about that time. After noting a sign requesting people to mask up, I asked for a mask and they have them ready for you in a box at the reception desk. After about 5 minutes I was taken to the back and a nurse took my vitals. It took another 5-10 minutes for the doctor to see me, about 5 minutes for the visit (just a minor eye issue), and then another 5-10 minutes for them to process the paperwork. Really fast and efficient, and all the staff were nice and friendly. Will be coming here from now on for urgent care needs. read more

When speaking with the doctor (Dr. Nguyen) and telling her that Prednisone is what clears up the gout for me. She prescribed an NSAID. It didn't work! My boyfriend was quickly showing signs of a concerning illness so we decided to go here since his PCP isn't open on the weekends. We came in on a Saturday at around 5:30pm and there was 1 stall left in their parking lot. We walked in, filled out some basic paperwork and were seated in a room immediately. There were no other patients in the waiting room. The nurse was kind and patient as my boyfriend explained his symptoms. She gave us information on signing up for MyChart and its benefits. She took his vitals then entered all the information in his MyChart and had the doctor come in to talk to us. Dr. Chowchuvech was amazing! He took the time to listen to our concerns and thoroughly assessed my boyfriend. He explained his diagnosis in laymen terms making it easy for us to easily understand what's going on. His explanation gave us peace since both of us were really worried. I'm very grateful that we had such a great doctor because my boyfriend was hesitant on going to urgent care due to the bad reviews. These are the types of healthcare workers we need! Those who care and truly want to help. It makes me sad that others did not have this experience at this urgent care. I had a rude awakening concerning my lab work and was not waiting for my new internist appointment which was about two weeks away! Front desk personnel and nursing staff were patient as well as friendly. I felt that I was in a caring environment. Dr. Frank Williams was excellent by going over my tests in the last two days. He's a internist who knows what is needed for my problem as well as go over all my body systems ready to prep several consultations. We discussed my new meds that protects my heart and kidneys. I will be utilizing a meter with a phone application that will help track me daily or finger sticks. I felt relief. That's why I stay within a Queen's network so my physicians can see what has happened to me or all of my follow up visits. I have two little kids under age 7- so I've been to a few urgent cares in my day- and I have to say this is the worst urgent care experiences I've ever had. The staff were fine, wait time is to be expected, but the doctor- Dr S Nguyen, was awful on all levels- competency- bedside manner- overall demeanor. The first question she asked me when she came in was why I wasn't seeing my PCP. She only tested me for strep and not COVID even though I'm showing all the signs for Covid- so now I am dealing with incompetency. She is rude. Condescending. Sarcastic. And wouldn't leave me alone until I said I would just go see my pcp. I'm not the only one who thinks this either- if you go on her webmd profile there are others who have the same experience with her - they all say the same thing- rude, condescending and sarcastic. I was glad to read them bc I thought after I left, maybe she treated me a certain way based on something I did even though I was normal. I now know that I wasn't the only one and that she's just a miserable human in general at work. I don't need to be coddled when I see a doctor either- I've seen plenty doctors who are no nonsense- but at least they know what they are doing- and again- her rudeness is NEXT level. Should give this place ZERO STARS. My wife just took my son there who has an ear infections and body ache. Place closes at 8. They walked in at 7:02 and were told no more walk ins, even though it wasn't busy. She kindly asked if they could make an exception because we have a son who is in pain and needs to be seen. She was told flat out, NO. What pieces of shit that work here. We will be contacting everyone above the people that work here. Don't go in to healthcare if you don't really want to help people. EEEK!!! accidents happen.... sometime last year i broke my nail... Well full story I got acrylic you know fake nails on top of my real nails for a prep to see how it would look when I had to attend as bridesmaid in a friend (no longer friend now-long story) wedding. I had the long nail style and at first it's pretty but so hard to do things. I opened my fridge and the nail ripped off with my real nail snapping off on my left pinky. It was hanging on my cuticle.. OUCH right? I tired to pull it or cut it off myself but it was just stuck and too painful... Drove myself to this urgent care, they were quick. Got in, got finger numbed and it was cut off... For the 1 month after this... as I waited for my nail bed to grow my finger was STINGING pain each time I washed my hand... Morale of this story was: never get fake nails... I don't really know how much an urgent care facility actually treats their patients because of two instances that we've had with Queens Urgent Care. The first time I took my wife there a few months ago she was told that she needed to go to Queens Hospital emergency and that they have been notified so the emergency ward will be waiting for her. It took us about 10 minutes to arrive there and no one was waiting for us. The security just told her to wait in line. Recently my wife called Queens Urgent care to see if she should come in after describing her ailment. The girl on the phone with her told her that they only do assessments there and she needed to be referred to Queens Hospital emergency. When my wife described her previous experience in dealing with Queens Urgent Care and Queens Hospital emergency she was immediately hung up on without a word. How's that for patient care? read more

Over the weekend, my husband was complaining about a medical issue that he felt that he needed medical attention. It didn't appear to be an emergency situation and being that we live within walkable distance to either Queens Medical Center and this urgent care clinic, I suggested we go to this clinic. Walking into the socially distanced waiting room and Plexiglas-ed reception desk, we were immediately assisted. The receptionist was straightforward and professional. Luckily, there was no one else waiting so, I took a seat while my husband went ahead to fill out the insurance, HIPAA forms, and medical record questionnaire. He noted that even with our dual health insurance coverages, he still needed to pay an upfront $30+ co-payment for the visit. The receptionist explained that their clinic would process the appropriate forms to our health insurance plans through which he would get reimbursed since we do have dual coverage for medical visits and services. We didn't wait longer than 20 minutes before my husband was escorted into the examination room. Hey, 20 minutes for an urgent care clinic is waaaay less time than if he decided to go to an emergency room where his case would've been triaged to low urgency among the REAL emergencies and this visit didn't cost our insurance companies the highest cost for emergency room service. My husband was in the examination room for about 15 minutes more where he said that the physician came in right away. My husband emerged from the examination room and mentioned that we needed to pick up a prescription medication from our pharmacy of choice. So, off we went with my husband feeling better after seeing a medical professional and knowing that a pharmaceutical was available to address his symptoms. My husband was also advised to make an appointment with his PCP for follow-up. The Queens' Island Urgent Care convenient and provides competent medical services to us in the Kaka'ako neighborhood. We'd consider returning here for non-emergent medical care. read more

Says they are open until 8pm, I showed up at 7:30pm on Feb 23,2025 before closing and they turned me away. The girl at the front didn't even have a smile when I walked in. She was ready to turn me away and go home and end her shift. As soon as I walked in she said they weren't taking anyone. I even asked to talk to the doctor and the doctor came out and said the same thing I saw the cleaning lady cleaning in the back one of the rooms. It didn't seem busy at all. No one was in the waiting room either. Her name was Brittany. Maybe they should change there hours online if they aren't going to take anyone past 7:30pm!! i have been to this urgent care twice and both times I had Dr S Nguyen. she was dismissive of my insight when I brought my 2.5 year old son in, an when I asked questions was rude. this time I went for myself and she remembered me and was rude again. her professionalism and bedside manner were terrible. i have been to other urgent cares and never in my life have I felt compelled to write a review or even that my doctor was ever rude. never going back. why she is in a profession that is about care, compassion, connection and healing-- is beyond me. read more

The place has the worst Urgent Care for people who are hurt, sick, in pain, or are ill. The wait time to see the back office and get your vitals checked is 45 minutes to one hour everyday. No specific time. They could be slow or busy or behind on patients. This is the normal wait time. I'm guessing it's the same on weekends, although I have not visited them on Sundays. I was lucky to go there twice in one week. Once on Thursday at 920am and once on Saturday at 2:45.pm. One Thursday, the lobby area is crazy packed with patients, but expect to wait 40-60 minutes. The only time it's been super fast is when they open their doors at 8AM. So on Thursday. I got there 20 minutes early. Called into the back office to check my vitals at 10AM then waited o see the doctor on staff at 10:20AM then left with my paperwork at 10:40pm. Came home, but had to return again because the technician gave me someone else's After Visit Summary, so had to go back to get my Paperwork. So an appointment that usually lasts one hour took two hours. Then went again on Saturday at 2:45pm. As a walk -in. There was no one in the lobby / waiting room area. Waited 45 minutes. Then was seen by Dr. Williams for another 45 minutes. Then waited another 10 minutes to gather my paperwork. If you ever come here, make sure you are available to wait a long time. read more

I had to wait 30 minutes or more to be seen on a Saturday and there wasn't many people there. They made sure I had coverage from the VA to see them. Yet they ordered Blood work from Diagnostic Laboratories without getting authorization from my VA first. Now I received a letter from a collection agency saying I owe $144.00. They also told me VA was hard to reach, so CT had to be cancelled or rescheduled. The person I talked to over the phone seemed that she couldn't care less about anything. I would not recommend this place. So disappointed that VA hotline recommended this place. Wish I could go back in time and waited to see the VA. I wish I would have read the bad reviews. read more

Aside from the initial medical assistant that took my vitals, I did not have a pleasant visit. Both the urgent care doctor and medical assistant were standoffish and have poor people skills. While he was examining me, it was obvious he was not listening to my answers to his questions. This became clear after the visit and upon reviewing the summary notes in My Chart. There was not only missing information, incongruencies in the subjective and objective notes, but he actually MADE UP some of my answers. I came in for a fever at 100.4 and he wrote in the notes "denied a fever." (There was more that was inaccurate in the notes, which I will be reporting to Queen's Patient Care). Since I was being referred to a specialist, it is imperative they write accurate notes - this is really just basic training medical students and residents receive during there residency. I returned to the clinic to clarify the notes he made. I mentioned the "denied fever" and etc. and he looked me in the eyes and told me that in order to be considered a fever it's 100.5 degrees. What a joke. That is not only factually incorrect, but clinically and by definition should be treated as a fever. I asked him to correct this and to also add the other symptoms I was experiencing in the notes for the specialist to see. He still has not changed my summary notes and it's been 3 hours. I doubt he will, but I will be reporting him to the Queen's Patient Care to have this corrected. Towards the end of my visit the second medical assistant, who was also unfriendly, handed me a paper and said I don't have the flu and proceeded to leave. That was it, that was how they conclude the visit. They treat you as if you are a nothing. It's shocking how little care or basic information they provide to patients. Apparently, the piece of paper she handed to me was a referral to the specialist and there was more to it than was relayed. So, basically, if you don't know what to ask, they won't tell. Terrible. My partner is a physician and was also shocked by the auto populated click-through smart phrases that were inaccurately written for my visit. The discrepancies in the notes, the rude mannerisms, and misinformation is scary. I'm not proud of this experience since I'm a Queen's employee. I work for a great group of people who actually care about patients, and after what I experienced, I can understand why the reviews are so bad with this location. I insist that you contact the Queen's Patient Care number to report your experience to them so they can fix this issue. read more

Omg so so good!! I first went to Waikiki to a 5 star yelp review clinic it was called Doctors of Waikiki. They wanted 400.00 to see a Dr.!! I left and I had to pay the stupid parking on top of that. So I googled and this Kakaako clinic and this came up. "Island urgent Care." I called ... it was Veterans Day and they were OPEN!! Yay!! They took me right away and in no time I was seen by a wonderful Dr. Kauhane! He was kind, efficient, nice bed side manner and actually cares ! Arrived here at 11:00am. Filled out paperwork, got seated in one of the rooms by 11:15am. It's 1:30pm, and I am still waiting in the same room; haven't seen a doctor yet. Someone did come in at 12:15pm to pop in, and say "Sorry for the wait, you'll be seen shortly" but this is ridiculous. I am feeling very ill, all I want to do is be seen and go home to sleep. Sitting on an uncomfortable chair for 2 hours is not pleasant when you're sick and in pain. I can't believe it's been 2 hours since I got here. If they're Short handed, I get it. But at least frequently check on patients? Or explain that to patients, who are waiting patiently! The Dr finally came in, saw me for about 3 minutes. Never going here again. read more

Worst compassion ever. I had something spatter in my eye and this is 2 blocks from my house. My eye was super swollen and I was concerned. Web sight says open until 8 I got there 7:35 and they turned me away and said go to the emergency room we are not taking walk in. I asked please this is my eye your open until 8. The dr said no leave I won't see you. I had to run 5 blocks to Straub kakaako . I called on my way and they were so accommodating. I arrived just on time and they did not rush me. I wish there was a 'no star' rating option. This used to be my 'go to' place for medical care for emergent issues, but NO MORE! I was given an angry scolding for returning after being there the previous week. I walked out of there confused by the doctor's angry reaction to me being there, and embarrassed that the people in the waiting area heard her scolding me. That's exactly what it felt like - a scolding...from a doctor. To make it worse, she entered all my vitals (which were never taken) from this visit on 'MyChart' as if she had seen me!!! Thanks to Doctor Jacob, Doctor Carolyn, Medical Assistant Beverly, & the best the best Front Desk girl who is a Super Sweetheart and her name is Ms. Ashley! This is my favorite Urgent Care hands down!!! Last visit and this visit I have had Such Great service from Ms. Ashley at the front desk check in -- Theres usually 1 or 2 front desk ladies sometimes the guys answer the phone when you call different locations. At the KAAKAKO location, they validate your parking and o parking right behind the location. This is always very helpful to know when coming here because parking is key and you don't want to pay if you don't have to. Always get a validation. I really am glad to have a professional, safe, & happy Staff at the doctor office. Usually everyone is in a bad mood or extra grumpy or unhelpful, but not this facility. KAKAAKO Queens Island Urgent care goes out of the way to make sure you are taken care of. The clean the seats and they disinfect the clipboards before and after paperwork! Very clean and safe environment. Ms. JoLyn is a super sweetheart and always makes my checkout go smoothly--they automatically send your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice or wherever your insurance covers. Sometimes they give you the paper and you have to drop it off to your pharmacist. Depends on your situation. I highly recommend Doctor Jacob, he is so amazingly smart and educational when you visit with him. He does not rush or push to get you out fast, he's very detailed and takes his time to explain whatever your case may be. Ms. Beverly is sooo comforting and makes you feel like you are being taken care of and put in great hands during your room check in. Once you get het your vitals checked she lets you know that the Doctor will see you shortly. There's a lot of Medical Assistants so if you get Beverly you are lucky to see her cheerful spirit! Thank you Beverly for helping me with my paperwork too! Again, Mahalo for supporting me during my rough injury recovery! Still getting through it but this review is overdue and I wanted to make sure everyone on island knows that this is a friendly and reliable place to come for medical assistance. I am really am glad that they enforce masks and always check everyone's Temperatures during each and every patient's visit. During Cov19 this urgent care is taking the extra step to ensure people's safety inside of the clinics and serving the community. I am trying out a new doctor then the usual today and guess what -- She is Terrific. I had a nice followUp appointment even though I am having the worst pain during my injury. I never see female doctors because there's never any around...so today was awesome to try a different doctor. She's understanding, supporting, and I had a lovely visit. I would definitely recommend Doctor CaroLyn. It was a nice first time visit and great to meet her. I like to try to schedule with a doctor that always sees me on a regular so it keeps it easier for me to followUp, but glad I tried out a new doctor who is very skillful and patient with me. Overall we were very pleased with Island Urgent Care. Dr. Aaron Kauhane saw us and addressed our ailments and prescribed exactly what we needed. We immediately felt better the next day with the medications. Parking is a pain to find near the clinic. It's best to park in the SALT garage and get your ticket validated. The staff at Island Urgent Care-Kaka'ako is all SO nice. I came in and thought I had strep throat. It was early so I wasn't 100% sure as I was not showing all the symptoms. They still took me seriously and asked me all the questions and performed the testing on me. They did a throat swab which is one of the most unpleasant things ever, and even with the reactions and sounds I made through it, they assured me I was completely fine. I think I kicked even, and he still told me I was fine. They told me my results fast and gave me more things to take home so I could return to feeling normal and be comfortable again faster. Well I been here a few times and I notice all the times I been here it's been pretty much the same . The front end needs customer service training . I walk in and I'm standing at the counter for a good 5 minutes and the girl is playing on her Cel phone , instead of paying attention to her surroundings and paying attention to people walking through that door . This generation , is really sad with their Cel phones . So I'm standing there and she's not even looking up , then I make a sound with the end of my phone on the counter , then she jumps and says oh you needed something . Duhh , I just came here to watch you play on your phone . I'm not sure what other's experienced here but I am sure they had similar experiences because usually if somebody has bad habits like that , it didn't just happen over night . Well , another thing I notice about this place is that , the workers talk story a lot . I can hear them talking about stuff that doesn't even pertain to the job , just laughing loud and talking .. Hello there is patients here that don't feel good , at least have some respect and consideration for the patients. Still in the waiting room , so don't have anything to report yet as far as the service here . Although I been here a few times before . And honestly not to thrilled about it . If you can avoid this place, avoid it. There are so much more healthcare providers that give excellent care and this is the worst place to go. I went in to get checked because I had something that I was experiencing. It might be understaffed but you wait for an hour before they call you and an hour before the doctor comes inside the room to see you. When he did see me, he just checked me for 2 minutes and did not even tell me what I had. So he just prescribed me a medication. Based on the reviews, I think they do not even try to check their patients in a good way and just skip them because there are too much patients to see. I understand that but you took the path of a healthcare professional so at the very least try your best to see them because they see you to heal. Many of the people I know, they do not even go to the doctor anymore because of this. What is the point of being a medical professional when you do not even care about the patients and one day no one will go to healthcare facilities because they do not get the "care" they need? read more

This is the second location I went to for Queens urgent care. Island urgent care is one of the worst health care places out here. They were good years ago and now it's so bad. I got here at 720 and they said they already did last call. Is this a bar or a restaurant? So weird. So I asked what time is last call, and they said "it depends on the complexity of the patients and how busy it is" as I looked around the empty waiting area. She than said to go to Straub which my insurance doesn't cover. Please get your hours right so you don't waste people's time when they are in pain. Change the time to 7 if they don't take people an hour before closing. read more

Dr. S Nguyen should not be a doctor. I knew I had an eye INFECTION and told them and only the nurse took me seriously- Dr. S Nguyen proceeded told me there's absolutely nothing to do about it and diagnosed it as milia when anyone without a medical degree could obviously see it was no damn milia as It felt like animal skin and was spreading -red and was painful ... went to castle days later because it was obviously getting worse from being untreated and they immediately took me seriously and a real doctor quickly saw it was an serious infection..... 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place -- go somewhere else if you want real doctor help read more

I came here on a holiday because my PCP's office was closed. I got a free parking space in the back of the building. There is a parking log to sign at the counter when you get into the clinic. The staff members were pleasant and courteous. I saw my PCP after this and she requested records of this urgent care visit. The urgent care contacted me to sign a form to verify as I didn't have it listed on my consent to send. I appreciate the effort to protect my information and only release it with my consent. read more

Friend: "You busy?" Me: "Just working out. What's up?" Friend: "Can you take me to Urgent Care?" Me: "What?! What happened??" Friend: "I got into an accident" Me: "Again?!?" My friend got into a motorcycle accident and asked me to take him to Urgent Care so I rushed over to his place and picked him up. He was limping and looked all banged up. We decided to go to the Kakaako location because it was slightly closer than the Kapahulu location. When we arrived, I quickly found street parking right in front of Pioneer Saloon Kaka'ako. They do have parking just for Urgent Care nearby if you don't find street parking. We walked over slowly and when we entered, the place only had one person waiting. Lucky us! We went up to the only guy working in front and told him what happened. He was friendly and had us complete some paperwork. When I say us, I mean I did it and he signed with his fingers. It was actually a lot of questions and similar ones on 2-3 sheets. Not a fan of paperwork but it was better me doing it than my friend bleeding all over the place. Right before we completed it, 4 different groups of people stood in line to check in behind us. Talk about good timing! We overheard one guy saying he came from Kapahulu's location because they were full. Good thing we didn't go there! It didn't take long before they called my friend. It was actually really quick compared to the ER at hospitals. I waited in the lounge area. It was clean and they offered free coffee. Not knowing how long it would take, I made myself a cup. The back has 5 stalls for patients so they took everyone in one by one. I ended up running into someone from way back when while waiting. Small island! We ended up catching up till my friend came out. Check out was fast and easy. RN in back also gave my friend extra bandages and gauze so he wouldn't have to hobble to the store for more. The guy behind the counter was funny and made this a positive experience considering the circumstances. Hopefully you won't have to come here but if you do, clean place with good staff working. Love the area lots of restaurants places to eat. They also have Starbucks right across the street. We ended up having lunch right next door. Earl Sandwiches 1st time at this Location I've been to Kapahulu Island urgent care. Had to have blood drawn and Lala was able to draw blood after second attempt. Thanks Lala for saving us a trip to do lab work elsewhere. Doctor Arthur Hori was great and helped me he gave me a shot for my pain and he discovered what my pain was!!! I feel relieved of pain and if I ever am in need for urgent health care I will go to this location. read more
