You have to receiving a communication from this company is nice to know that they monitor these posts however when you turn a sprinkler system on it is customary to check the sprinklers for proper condition and if if they are doing the proper job not just turn it on and walk away from it. I would not have lost my lawn this year if my sprinkler company had my best interest at heart and checked each sprinkler head and the placement and the coverage they were supplying not just turn the sprinkler on. This past time when I requested that they come out they had to replace several heads and adjust locations that the sprinklers were supplying water to. That tells me that when they came out a few months ago they did just what the woman said was turn the system on and walk away and didn't check anything and for over $100 that's not good service I would hope that they change the way they service my property. It seems that they are very comfortable with a DISGRACEFUL three star rating rather than trying to earn more stars and be more considerate of the customer. Now I look and the three replaced heads are refurbished and not new new heads that I paid over three hundred dollars for. These pictures represent the failure of what I paid for and did not get. This company just like most companies in the lawn-care business treat customers with strong distain. They promise far more than the customer ever receives. This company began by agreeing to maintain my sprinkler system. I explained that my system "was" installed by a journeyman that broke off from a company he worked for and began a private company. Unfortunately afterwards it was discovered that he hadn't installed my sprinkler system in the acceptable way of their industry. First time I realized there was a problem was when I had a problem with several of the sprinkler heads. When he came to my home, he began grabbing used sprinkler heads out of a small box that was stored in the back of his small minivan. He told me that he had rebuilt the used heads. Then there was a time when I rented a lawn aeration machine. After I was done and I turned on my sprinkler system, there were a dozen areas that had leaks from the plastic tubing which was not installed far enough below the surface of the lawn. Unfortunately the lawn sprinkler installer had fallen terminally ill. When I began researching sprinkler system companies, Greg Tanzer Sprinkler Company was located on the YELP search site. Even though the site only had a three star rating, I had requested that they come and look my system over with the intention of hiring them. After coming out and reviewing my sprinkler system, they agreed to service and maintain my system. Shortly after I had a problems with sprinkler heads reaching the required areas causing my lawn to have growth issues and flooding in other areas as well as timer issues. The company came out and replaced specific sprinkler heads but charged me for a service call that was explained by claiming the heads were covered but the labor to change them out was not. This was after a contract of over three hundred dollars was paid. When I called to protest the contract agreement, the woman on the line was very nasty and unsympathetic. Another instance of my sprinkler heads not retracting below the ground, the woman who had "no" installation experience merely stated that it was due to one of two components that pump the water but she couldn't explain which one and if after changing one of the two, I would also have to pay for the other pump. Each one costing over three hundred dollars. Another time she blamed the old rain sensor that they never changed out when they took over the system. Another three hundred dollar charge. Each year I asked to split my contract payment due to being retired and the woman gave me a problem. The final straw came when I kept having with the Timer Box losing the settings and once again the woman with zero experience with the system claims that I have to buy another Timer Box. I finally found one of their workers that would work on my system on his free time; however when it was apparently discovered the woman sent another technician out that became enraged and obnoxious, claiming that while discussing the issue accused me of spitting on him (I was at least seven feet away) as well as not speaking a reasonable amount of English. I finally asked him to leave my property and not to return. EVER!

He quoted me a reasonable price and could accommodate me soon. Sam came to do the job. We put new batteries in the timer. But it didn't seem to be working properly. Sam said that not only was it not working properly, but that it wasn't an outdoor clock. Said we should replace it. Of course I was stressed at something not working and really stressed at the thought of what it would cost to replace. Sam looked at a price list from his supplier and said that a clock for 2 zones was only $125. Ok, not terrible. But how many hundreds and hundreds was the installation going to cost? He said "I came to get your system going for the season. I have to do whatever it takes to do that. There's no extra fee for that." I thought that I couldn't passably be hearing correctly. No extra cost? He and his assistant went and got the new timer and came back. But he said he wanted to mount it inside rather than where the old one was, outside my house. He didn't have a drill long enough to go through the wall to run the wire from the sprinkler system to the timer. So, came back after the weekend and did it. I did have to pay for the new timer and another small part that had burned out. But as far as labor, not a penny more than the original price to turn on the system! That is unheard-of these days! I'm so happy to have a new, reliable service and happy to recommend them.

He spent 45 minutes with me going over my needs, but since it was approaching winter, nothing could be done at that point. In particular, Anthony identified a weed that my previous lawn care provider could not treat with their products. Overall, I was very impressed with his professional and courteous demeanor. Absolutely no hard selling whatsoever. Even after the on-site visit, Anthony answered a few follow-up emails from me. In April 2024, I contacted Heroes Lawn Care again, and Anthony remembered our conversation. He was willing to make a second visit to my lawn to review the current situation. A few days later, Anthony sent me a quote for the lawn services I needed that was very competitive. It took me 2.5 weeks to respond back to hire them, but Anthony was still able to honor the quote. I hired them for my lawn care, and slowly, the lawn started to come back from its sorry state. The summer, however, informed me that I need a sprinkler system. I called them for a sprinkler quote, and Anthony sent back a quote shortly. It was notably very competitive compared to other vendors I checked with. The sprinkler system they had is computerized, so you can program the watering schedule, and if connected to your internet, it can check the weather and adjust its water schedule. There was a parts problem with the sprinkler system after installation, and I diplomatically contacted them. They sent their technician to fix the problem without any hassle. In spring/summer 2025, the sprinkler and lawn care have kept my lawn green and the weeds are not sprouting as often. Lastly, I grew tired of using wood mulch, and started to switch to rubber mulch, but I only had so much time and stamina to place mulch myself, so I asked them to give me a quote to finish what I started. The quote was reasonable, and Anthony took the time to explain the costs. The crew came, removed weeds from the areas that needed rubber mulch, placed the mulch, and did clean up work. Our landscaping area is no longer overrun with weeds and looks tidy. I would still highly recommend giving Heroes Lawn Care a call for your lawn care.
