I was used to getting blood test results and sometimes CT/MRI results within 24 hours. Not any more with CR, and when patients are anxious, the long wait of days can be very hard, especially with serious conditions like cancer. Community should hire more radiologists to complete their reviews in a more timely manner.

I showed up on the day of the service with a printout from my insurance company showing how much it should cost. I also had a person name I spoke with and a reference number from my insurance company. I made it very, very, very, very clear when I checked in that I would pay no more for this service than what was represented to me by my insurance company. The Community rep stepped away from the counter and disappeared for over 15 minutes and came back saying "all is fine" your portion of the bill will be the $29. Fast forward about a week after...and...SHOCKER...I get a bill for $234. It has been nearly 60 days, 6 phone calls to Community Radiology, one call to my insurance company. My insurance company calling, faxing and mailing the Explanation of Benefits to Community Radiology and me emailing it 9 times to Community Radiology and it is finally resolved. I found the reps on the phone to be out of this country, poorly trained and incredibly dumb. Again, the procedure was fine, the post billing service was beyond poor.

However, it has been over 122 hours since my MRI and the physician's report has not been completed or sent to my referring doctor. The website claims 24 hours. The front desk said it "usually is done in 24-48" hours. But here I am over 5 days later without any answers. After having my insurance company come and threaten action on their part, I was finally told that my scan would be read in the next hour. So I'm not sure if I recommend them or not. In addition, it turns out Quest has been billing insurance that isn't what they have for me on record. She huffed and said in a nasty tone, "what do you mean you're disputing it?" and I told her AGAIN how the error is because of Quest not billing correctly and that I've been in contact with billing. She wouldn't budge so I made it clear that I would pay the co-pay due that day. Her attitude got even worse after that conversation. Another woman came in to draw the blood and she was actually moderately pleasant. When she finished, she told me I needed to give a urine sample and told me where the restroom was. I turned right when I should have turned left, and the first woman literally yelled at me, "wrong way!" What is wrong with these people? Quest needs to take a look at their lack of customer service.

He cancelled one of them in order to do the other two (it made no sense to me) and then I had a lot of trouble with them receiving the fax from my doctor's office for the one cancelled. We ended up bothering my doctor's office three times over two days and the test was never completed. Further, the one test that was done was delayed by 10 business days due to the cyclospora outbreak, which is understandable - but Labcorps never informed me of the delay or the reason. I had to call them. When I wrote to complain, the supervisor of this Labcorps office called me but she was more interested in defending Labcorps rather than in helping me or seeing from my point of view. She did apologize for some of this. I was sick and needed the tests for treatment. This caused my illness to go on weeks longer than need be. I will not be returning to this Labcorps.

I have dealt with self diagnosed IBS-C for most of my life. I made an appointment with a GI doctor per my primary's recommendation for colonoscopy. It took awhile to get an appointment with Capital Digestive in Frederick. I called in June and got an appointment with an NP on August 30- not surprising given that I'm a new patient. I really liked NP Nicole Mitchell. She ordered me for a colonoscopy and interviewed me about my chronic "stomach issues". Nicole informed me that there are great medications to manage my issues. I was a little reluctant but agreed to try....WOW. The medicine that has changed my life living with irritable bowels! I was told someone will call me to schedule my colonscopy as I was leaving the office. Today is December 4th and I'm still not scheduled for a colonoscopy. I called the office in early October to inquire about colonoscopy and was told "it takes a while to schedule but don't worry someone will call you". I called again in early November and got the same response that it takes a while but someone will call soon. I asked what time frame is "soon" since it'd already been 10 weeks and I hadn't heard anything. She said it does take a long time. I apologized for bothering and asked how long I should wait before calling back, 4 months, 6 months, a year? She said I should hear something before December. I called the office a week ago without response. This time I left messages for the medical assistants of Nicole Mitchell and Dr. Strongin asking for help getting colonoscopy scheduled.....still nothing. It's been 6 months since my primary recommended a colonoscopy, and 16 weeks since it was ordered by Capital Digestive but I'm still not scheduled for colonoscopy. I really like Nicole Mitchell but their office of obviously too busy to take on any more patients because they can't manage what they have.
