We were going around in circles because I was trying to tell her I was told to come back but she would not stop talking over me. Seems like out of spite I was charged a strep throat test I never agreed to. My son had a cough for almost a month. It was mild but yet wouldn't go away. Something told me to go somewhere else when I saw that the kiosk wasn't functioning. I did not want to drive out to Oak Park so I decided to stay but that was a bad idea. The idiot who performed the strep throat test was way too rough that ended up hurting my sons throat. He said the pain got worse because he described the pain as a lump in his throat. We walked out with a service that we did not need and in a worse condition. I tried to dispute it with minute clinic but it seems like I'm stuck with the bill because I've been waiting for them to remove it but nothing seems to be done.

I value the apology and assistance they provided to enhance our experience. I am very disappointed with Darien Immediate Care. I took my son there due to a shoulder injury and he was taken in for an X-Ray. PA Erin Berman read his x-ray and misdiagnosed him having a broken collarbone and dislocated shoulder and informed us to go to the ER ASAP. When the ER doctor read these same x-rays, I was informed that only my son's collarbone was broken, but his shoulder was not dislocated. However, the ER doctor nevertheless was required to take additional x-rays at this point to confirm the diagnosis that the shoulder was not, in fact, dislocated. Therefore, my son did not need to be rushed to the ER and could've received urgent care for his collarbone with a follow up with an orthopedic doctor. As a result, in addition to what this facility billed us, we incurred additional fees and costs for the ER visit and additional x-rays, and spent additional time agonizing over the injury. Therefore, I requested to speak with the office manager regarding my billing, who promised to call me but never did. When I spoke to the billing department, they refused to transfer me to the office manager or share contact information and refused to adjust my bill in any way. While I have no issue paying for medical services, I do have an issue incurring unnecessary additional fees and costs due to the misdiagnosis. If my son was diagnosed properly in this facility, we wouldn't have had to go the ER and he would walked away with a sling, which is the recommended treatment for a broken collarbone. This is also my second negative experience with this facility. During a prior visit, we saw PA Anum Haq who diagnosed my son with an ear infection; however, PA Anum Haq then failed to timely send the required prescription to the pharmacy, which delayed my son's healing and caused him more pain. I will never go to this facility again, and will share my experience where possible so that other families do not have to incur unnecessary additional expenses when money is already tightly budgeted for most.

I saw Dr. Thakadiyil who is an outstanding provider and after thoroughly examining me, she ordered COVID, flu and RSV tests which have come back negative. Having been here before, she knew my medical history and prescribed inhalers for me and ordered a nebulizer treatment. I left feeling much relieved that I had been examined and had a plan to help. Melissa, the medical assistant, was thorough with her vital checks and made sure I had my printed out summary of care when I left. Great place to go when not feeling well. We have seen her once a year or twice a year for three years for my two son's various flu and other injuries. We are so grateful she is there. Please don't leave, Dr Kelly! If every provider were like her, our medical field would be serving all patients SO well. Here's why: She always thinks of everything without me even asking, from meds, to at home things to do, to a school note, without hesitation. She always makes a little bit of small talk with my sons, but it's like she really cares. Bonus: The place is clean, the front desk staff is friendly, calm and efficient. They smile and are efficient and great with insurance and I haven't ever received a crazy bill from them ever. The wait time has never exceeded 15 minutes. We are out within 45 min including payment and lab tests. I am not getting paid by them to say all this stuff LOL haha! I don't know anyone there either....but I just have to call out this example of urgent care DONE RIGHT. Dr Kara's-Hedrick, DNP, please always continue being the best urgent care provider we've seen! This is a two-part review to result in a three-star rating…read more Doctor (5 Stars) ================ Dr. Jonathan Meek is a great doctor who takes the time to answer patients' questions or address their concerns. He doesn't come off as one of those money-hungry doctors. He's also the only doctor I've seen to carry around a laptop to keep track of all the patients' information. Billing (1 Star): ================ I've had a few billing issues with Fairview Family Practice before and one today. I usually prepay my copay with a credit card at the time of my visit to avoid messy billing issues. Twice, I've paid a $20 copay but still received a $20 copay invoice about a month after my date of service. When I spoke to the receptionist about those invoices, I would find out that my payment was not applied to my account like it should have and was just sitting in their system! They had to manually apply my payment to my account. Today's billing issue really takes the cake though. I paid a $20 copay on the same day of a prior visit and found out later that my copay should have only been $13 to this facility and $7 to a lab based on my insurance claim statements (I don't get insurance claim statements until weeks after my date of service). I called and spoke to a receptionist named Ashley to get a $7 refund so that I can send the payment to the lab. She was incredibly rude and refused to give me a refund even though I told her: --- My insurance claim statement clearly states "Your Copayment Amount $13.00." --- I spoke to an insurance representative, who checked with someone else internally on my claim, and CONFIRMED that my copay is $13. You know when you're on the phone with someone, and you can feel that he or she is rolling his or her eyes at you? There was a pause in the middle of the conversation, and my eyes were squinting from suspicion. Next thing I knew, she handed the call to some other person without telling me (I think Linda? I forget her name because I was so upset at that point). Linda was the exact same way and repeated the exact same thing as Ashley. In the end when we were getting nowhere, Ashley gave me the phone number to their billing department to deal with the issue. I found out after several phone call attempts that she gave me the WRONG phone number. The one she gave me kept ringing without going to voicemail and eventually hung up on me. When I finally got the correct number, I spoke to Ann from their billing department. She was very nice and stated that she will process and mail my refund. She also agreed that Ashley and Linda should not have handled the matter the way they did and suggested that I just call the billing department directly in the future (of course, now I know). LONG STORY SHORT: - Use a credit card instead of cash or checks to make payments (in case you need to refer back or make disputes). - Call the billing department directly at 630-856-6840 instead of talking to the receptionists. - ALWAYS check your claim statements to make sure you pay the correct amount. Overall, I cannot recommend going to this office until they get their billing together.

Collectively, they have anger management issues, destructive narcissism, depression, a seek-to-destroy mentality, imbalanced neurotransmitter issues, and promote obesity and ill-health overall. I wish it weren't true. But, they honor complacency over excellence and reality, let you down when you start to gain real health, and fear people who have high hopes and dreams for the future. Also, watch out for their gaslighting, especially when--or if--you are going through a tough time. Both of my prescriptions were denied refills after my medication wasn't at the pharmacy, and I was being intentionally led on for them to find something to use against me. Even though agreements were made during the last appointment for my medication to be at the pharmacy, I had to call multiple times because the medication wasn't there--leaving me hopeless, abandoned, and in a very serious predicament. I worked with them for almost two years and felt deserted and set up to fail while not drinking, smoking, or messing with my dosages/living a healthy life/and very goal oriented--just for example--which was a one-sided effort, much like the services offered.They are a toxic group. There are significant issues with the this industry, as well as concerning situations that occur behind closed doors.
